We have been to this location many many times and usually its 5 stars.(have tried Mongolian BBQ’s all over Sacramento, Roseville, and Rocklin and by far this one has them beat.)… but tonight we went and the owner was not there as he always has been and our experience was not great. The cooks looked like they were spaced out and were going in slow motion, and the lady serving our table kept asking me if I wanted a refill not taking my no thanks as an answer. As she delivered our check I asked if the owner was ok(last time we were there he had a arm brace on)… she said yes, he was just off and walked off. We had our check ready to be paid for, at the end of the table, she saw us put it there, came and talked to the table in front of us, behind us, and on the side keeping her back turned towards us the entire time. Another waitress saw this going on from across the dining room. and at that point I had given up and was walking to the register and the waitress that saw it going on had to force the other lady to ring us out. What the!!! We upset her asking if the owner was ok? No idea why the bad service, but next time we go back guess we will have to make sure the owner is there first.

My favorite Mongolian place here in town. It’s conveniently located in my neighborhood they have the best service and their food is awesome great place and always nice and clean. You get an egg roll, wonton, soup and rice along with your meal too!

Love this place! I used to only go to the monoglian BBQ in the roseville galleria but mall traffic gets pretty hectic sometimes. I decided to try this place since I work down the street and heard nothing but good things from people. I love that they give soup, rice(fried or white), and a spring roll. All of that plus your bowl, there’s always left overs to take home. Make sure you put lots of sauce so that your food isn’t dry!

Best Mongolian BBQ place I think I’ve ever been to. Everything is pretty good. I dig the lamb and the hot and sour soup, which is also AYCE at dinner time. Sometimes it can be busy, but it’s still so much better than the once down the road at Fairway and Stanford Ranch, that one is just gross.

This restaurant may be my favorite place to eat out. Hands down, no questions asked. The food is absolutely phenomenal! I love the fact that you can control whatever you want in your bowl, along with your addition of cooking sauces. The portions are great for the price, as you receive egg rolls, fried wontons, and soup. (Tip: Add some of the sweet and sour sauce to your bowl after it is cooked) I would like to note, however, that it is oddly strange that you have to seat yourself. Also, the last few times I visited, it took the workers around 10 minutes to bring the wontons and egg rolls! Sad because this is one of my favorite aspects of the meal. Don’t be deceived by the«All you can eat» description, there are limitations. For example, they only allow you to bring your leftovers home if it is your first bowl… Ridiculous because they would just throw your food out anyways. Seems to me like the owner really wants to save money by discouraging you to obtain subsequent helpings. Over all, the food is delicious, and I will continue to frequent this location!

This is a zero-star, serious health code issue review: First and foremost, the business model of this place is mind-blowingly backwards. I have been to many Mongolian-style restaurants in my life, and the typical model is: you arrive, they seat you and take your drink/soup/rice order, THEN you stand up and get in line to make your bowl. If the line is long, you have a chance to wait, enjoy your appetizer and beverage, and get up and make your bowl at your leisure. THIS place always has a long line because you arrive and get in line to begin making your bowl, then you SEATYOURSELF. How is that a good idea? We got here tonight at 4:45(they open at 4:30 for dinner) and the line was out the door. It was 25 minutes before I even touched a serving tong to begin making my bowl. It was another 15 minutes before I was seated with my bowl.(Severely understaffed). Here is the health code violation part of the story: My boyfriend and I are very careful about what we eat. Sure, you could argue that we should not be eating at a place like this in the first place — and, trust me, we will NOT be back to make this mistake again. My boyfriend and I made our bowls, and for sauce we added garlic(with lots of the liquid), ginger(with lots of the liquid), and a couple splashes of fire cooking oil. There was plenty of sauce liquid to stir fry the bowl of all veggies. THAT’S IT. I don’t want soy sauce, and my boyfriend is allergic to it. I don’t want sugary-who-knows-what«House Sauce». I don’t want anything that I DIDNOTADDTOMYBOWL. That’s a reasonable request. That’s the reason why we wanted to go to a place like this – so we can control the ingredients of our food. When the guy was cooking my boyfriend’s bowl, towards the end, we saw he poured a substantial amount of a «mystery» liquid into his food on the grill. He asked the main server guy what was just added to his bowl, and he said, «Half-water, half-House sauce.» Wait, what? There are no ingredients listed next to the House sauce, but judging by the color, it looks like it could be soy sauce-based with sugar(soy sauce includes gluten). That is BESIDE the point — if he didn’t add it to his bowl, DON’T PUTITINHISBOWL, especially without asking. It’s that simple. My boyfriend told the guy he did not want the house sauce in his food and the guy said it must be added because his food needed more liquid(ahem, just add water then). My boyfriend said he had an allergy to the soy and that he did not want anything added to his bowl. The manager also added, «The sauce blends the flavor, otherwise your food doesn’t taste good.» How is that possible? We cook stir fry all the time with the flavors and sauce we used, and never need another sauce to add to it. The guy continued, «You must tell me if you have any issues with our food and allergies.» My boyfriend said, «I thought that was implied when I made my bowl with the specific sauces I wanted.» The owner/guy made a scene blaming my boyfriend for the sauce that HISCOOKADDED. There were 20 people in line behind us that witnessed the guy tell my boyfriend it was his responsibility to let the cook know not to add sugary/mystery sauce to his bowl, but the cook did it without asking. I am so very disappointed in not just the fact that the sauce was added, but that the guy maintained that it was my boyfriend’s fault. Later, the manager brought the check and said, «I did not charge you for your bowl, but you must let us know next time if you’re allergic to the sauce.» Continuing to blame my boyfriend? That shows me that he was unwilling to take responsibility for his HUGE mistake, and that bad attitude is why we will not be back to this establishment. I’m sorry, you should not be adding sauce when someone doesn’t add it themselves. And if you do, you should ASK. Period.

Very fresh food, clean environment, and friendly staff. Pretty sure the owner was running the grill and he was cracking jokes and being so nice to everyone in line. Plus, at dinnertime they let you take home what you don’t finish, which is usually not the case at the other MBBQ’s I’ve been to. So for all those reasons, I’ll be coming back to this one.

Not a good idea to shout orders at customers because you don’t have the staff to take care of business. The worm cook with the painted fingernail does just that. Push your food over here to cook! Go sit down! If you want to be treated like you are in the Chinese Army go here. If not stay away

The best mongolian bbq I’ve ever had. Their soups are delicious & they offer two different kinds. Also, their rice is great, they offer white or fried, both great. Fresh ingredients. Most mongolian bbq places I’ve been have fresh veggies but this place is by far the cleanest mongolian bbq I’ve ever been to, which is another reason for the 5 stars! Good service. Pretty cheap. They season the grill so if you don’t want a spicy dish they’ll ckean the grill for you! only bad thing is that they get very busy and the line to cook your food could have a long wait.

We got here around 1pm and the place was packed full of patrons. It was an interesting setup… I had never been to a Mongolian BBQ and this was pretty cool. You pick your meats and vegetables as well as your sauces and spices and they cook it for you. Watch out, don’t choose too much volume on the noodles or your bowl will fill up quickly. The food was very tasty. I had chicken with my choice of veggies and spiced it up according to their sauce recommendation. The Jalepenos were fresh so that meant super spicy. Yummy! Good thing I’m watching my weight or I would have gone for a second bowl. The servers were very attentive and very friendly. I would go back for another round.

This place is awesome! The best Mongolian BBQ around. Amazing flavor, great setup and very reasonable pricing considering how much food you get. I would drive a long distance to eat this. I would strongly recommend it. This is a place that does what they do very well. The only thing I will add — the line has gotten a bit ridiculous in terms of wait time. I think it might be time to consider investing in another cooking station as it can get really crowded around meal times, and the wait is pretty insane.(I’m not mad about it — it just needs to be said) However, I would strongly recommend sizzle Mongolian BBQ to anyone. One of my favorite spots in the area.

Pros: Fresh ingredients, clean restaurant, excellent sauce flavors, staff that does a great job grilling Cons: Price recently increased, if you’re using the«one bowl» option vs. all you can eat the bowl makes it hard to get a good amount of meat and veggies in unless you’re creative, wait staff is somewhat slow for refills, line is out the door on Friday evenings(a good sign though), and they are not open continuously all-day(they are closed between lunch and dinner) I’ve been here several times in the two and a half years I’ve lived in the area and I think it’s the best place to get Mongolian food in the Folsom-Roseville-Rocklin area. I usually take a bowl and fill it with the various meat options they have(chicken, beef, lamb, and pork) and then pile on the veggies. For lunch, the price is $ 9.99 for one bowl and for dinner it’s around $ 11 – 12 for all you can eat. If you do the one bowl option, you can take home leftovers, if you do the all you can eat then no leftovers are allowed. Included in the price is a won ton crispy chip, a spring roll, a choice of fried or steamed rice, and choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup – not a bad value. I do have some issues with the fact that the wait staff is pretty inattentive to needs such as more rice or drink refills. Also, most Mongolian places I’ve been to allow you to use one bowl for meat and the other for veggies – if not, then the bowl size is pretty big so as to allow you to get a good balance of both. However, at Sizzle, the bowl is pretty small given the fact you have to put both the meat and veggies. Also, they freeze the meat and allow it to curl up which makes the meat take up even more room in a bowl that is hard-pressed for space. I understand the owner wants to be sensitive to costs and wasted food but it forces some people to get creative in order to maximize their value. Overall, if you’re look for a good spot for Mongolian and you’re in the Rocklin area(or even if you’re not) my go-to place for Mongolian food is Sizzle Mongolian BBQ in Rocklin. I’ve taken plenty of friends and family there and they’ve all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Just keep in mind that if you’re hungry and you want to get a good balance of variety in terms of ingredients and portion, you’re going to have to maximize as much space as possible in the bowl. I’ve seen people compress the meat using another bowl(a tactic that is no longer allowed) or use their hands to try to fit more stuff into the small bowl.

They raised the prices just a bit… Still worth it! I always have enough to take home. And the leftovers usually feeds my husband and I! The staff is always very friendly and the owner is hilarious. Wish it was closer but of it was I’d gain to much weight lol

I am LITERALLY in love with this place. I live in Fairfield and drive all the way to Rocklin just to eat here. Seriously. The prices are extremely fair, the buffet is very clean and always fully stocked. The gentlemen who cook always make sure you know whether the grill is spicy or not(great for those of us who can’t handle heat). With your meal you get fried wontons, fried rice and eggrolls. I would normally spend the same amount on fast food, so this is a great deal. Writing this is making me crave it even more. EATHERE!

Mongolian BBQ. Everything is good I didn’t want to give this restaurant a 5 star review because doing so would make the line longer. Damnit!!! But I had to because this place deserves it.

This place is fantastic and delicious! Grab a bowl, fill it with your meat, veggies, etc and customize with random scoops of flavor. Wait in line, cram more stuff in, then have it cooked on the grill in front of you! Awesome concept. Same as any other Mongolian grill, really. For those that can’t handle spice, they clean the grill for you(so you may have someone with spice go ahead of you). Things don’t mix, which is great, but man does it slow everything down! That was my only disappointment with this place. Inefficient set up so it takes forever to actually sit down and eat. At times they also only had one guy on the grill when there was a huge line. You pay as you wait for your meal to be cooked, and the guy takes your order because *surprise* you get soup and rice with this meal too. For the price, you can’t really go wrong with this place(unless you don’t have the luxury of time). Check it out!

1.) You shouldn’t have just one person on the grill on a Friday night. A hour wait in line. 2.) they add water while your stuff is on the grill… So Yes! It’s watered down. 3.) confusing to give your order for drinks etc at the end of the line while your waiting on your food to cook. 4.) limited selection.

This place was a frickin MOBSCENE when we walked in. I had my entire 5 member family and a close family friend when we visited. When me and posse step in the house, all the food starts breaking out.(Modified NWA line, applied to my family. I’m a gangsta father. That’s right) Anyway, this place is true Mongo nirvana. Not the band Nirvana, although since they rock that’s a good analogy too. I take it back, they are the Mongo Nirvana, also in the sense of the band. The price is good. The ingredients are fresh, plentiful and constantly restocked. The owner/manager takes an active role in keeping the flow going The grill people are fast and clean the grill when spicy stuff hits it What else do you really need for mongo? Best in the area thus far. Keep keeping on, Sizzle.
