Great find! Most things are scratch made. High quality meat. Great experience all around. Would highly recommend. Make the drive, enjoy the laid back atmosphere and eat some great food!

OMG! The steaks are to die for!!! This place may be out of the way in the middle of nowhere, but it is most definitely worth the drive! My only complaint is that it is impossible to find their hours. We drove an hour one night with company to go eat there, only to find they were CLOSED!!! =O I was so shocked and bummed. Had to call them to find out they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays! Go figure.

We had a party of eight. Steaks were awesome, Service was great, fired cheesecake & ice cream was delicious. The place is off the beaten path, but well worth the drive.

The Steakhouse catered my daughter’s wedding, May 30th, 2015. Everyone at the wedding told us how much they enjoyed the food. Paige and staff were awesome to work with, they made sure everything was perfect. And also, I loved the special details that they did for the bride and groom! Thank you for helping make my daughter’s wedding a dream come true!

I know five stars are a lot, but the dinner and service we had the Saturday before Christmas for 10 people was perfect. I posted my blackened prime rib dinner. The steak was so flavorful and tender and the potato was soft and buttery. I can’t wait to go back!

This is the first time for me to eat here. Steaks are juicy and well flavored. Order the onion rings they are light and crunchy. The 22 Oz porterhouse was awesome, as well as the new York strip.

Neighbor said«you wanna go to the steak house?» I said«sure, what’s it called?» he said«the steak house.» For a moment I thought. «rockmart only has 1 steak house?» Derp. «The Steak House» is so named because its a farm house, in a residential area. You probably would drive right by if you were on the road. It has a gravel parking lot and a nice heated/cooled closed in porch. It used to be a(rather large) farm house! so there ya go. its a house. where they serve steak. get it? Yea… Anyway I think they’re open for dinner only. I went with my neighbor one Friday or Saturday night around 6PM, we were able to park relatively close to the door, but they were pretty busy inside! It’s decorated like. well a farm house. Warm wood walls, wood floors, I didn’t look at the ceiling. bet its wood though. Food, well they have steak! They probably have other things too. I didn’t look. I got the hamburger steak with grilled onions, baked tater, and a salad and all the bread I could stand. It was great! Been planning to go back. Will soon! You should too! To get here, go down 278 till you think you’re all the way through rockmart, make a left, a right, a left, then its on your right.(My neighbor was giving me directions, I didn’t get road names lol.)

We have not dined here in many years only because it’s about a 30 mile drive for us from Douglasville. I remembered it as a good meal at a very reasonable price. Well, there are still aspects of that but, now I find it as more of a hits and misses place where they can vary widely. So, I will break it down as «hits» & «misses» below: HITS 1) Service — we were a large party 11 with separate checks and varying tastes and ages. The servers worked as a team and really made sure our needs were met throughout the meal. 2) Quality of Food — the rolls and salads were great and plentiful. All salad dressings are homemade and I can personally testify the blue cheese was tasty although I could have stood it to be a little thicker and less runny. Our group ordered onion rings for an appetizer and they were also very good. The Flat Iron Steak was suggested my some of my relatives but, I decided not to venture out for that as I wasn’t in the mood for taking a chance. However, my wife did and it’s was amazing! We were tipped off that the key was to get the Flat Iron Steak«chargrilled» and that sure made for an incredibly flavorful and tender piece of beef even though she ordered it medium well and it ended up being well done(see misses below) it was still very enjoyable. I had the salmon which was good but slightly over cooked in the thinner parts of the cut of salmon. If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten the Flat Iron Steak. 3) Value — you will find this as a miss below as well. No, I’m not being inconsistent as their menu is where the inconsistencies are. The salmon was $ 13.95 and the Flat Iron Steak was an amazing value of $ 12.95. The key here is looking for the value on their menu as that does take some work. MISSES 1) Value — as I mentioned above the prices on the menu are incredibly inconsistent as they range from being an incredible value(like the Flat Iron Steak) to being a near rip off like the filet. I was a little surprised to see that most steaks t-bone, ribeye, filet) being on par with Long Horn in terms of pricing considering I was at a rural steak house. However, I had still decided to order the filet at $ 21.95 until the server started to take our order and informed us there was a «temporary price increase for the weekend» of an additional $ 2.00 over and above the menu price. We eat out a ton and have for years and I was stunned as that was a first that we were being informed that the menu prices were not valid. I just could not stomach paying $ 24 for the dish especially considering the way it was communicated to us. So, I got the salmon for $ 13.95. Think about that now… the salmon is several dollars less than chain steak(i.e. Longhorn, Outback etc…) places but, there higher quality cuts of steaks were several dollars higher. 2) Grilling Expertise — as I mentioned above my wife ordered her steak medium well and it was a solid medium rare(I know as medium rare is how I like my steak) as the center was still red. The others in a group all had steaks about one notch lower than they ordered but it was tolerable. My wife was the only one where it was about two levels off so, she sent it back asking for them to cook it just a bit more. The server graciously took the feedback and took the steak back to be cooked more. I knew from the time that past, we were about to go from one extreme to the other and we did. Her steak came back as solid well done(brown through and through). She went ahead and ate it and as I mentioned above it still had good favor and was tender which was surprising considering how much more it was cooked. We will definitely not wait years and years to go back as overall we did enjoy the meal. However, we will definitely be getting the Flat Iron Steak and hope that they get the temperature a little more consistent with how it’s ordered. While I’m on the consistency topic… their menu pricing could use some help with consistency too. Until then it will be two very tasty and tender Flat Iron Steak Dinners for us for about the same price as one filet dinner.

Won’t be going there again have been there several times in the past but this was the worst. I’m not sure if they have had a change in management but the entrees were less than desirable as was the so called tea(brown water with no flavor.) First the rolls arrived flat; the dinner salad was good with ample portion size as was the appetizer. The steaks we ordered were both ordered medium well. What we received was rare to medium rare at best. When mentioned and shown to the cook and cashier before we paid the bill we got an «I’m sorry» no mention of a discount. Next time we will definitely drive a little farther to get our monies worth.

Compared to some of the other options in this neck of the woods, this place is GREAT. But compared to other restaurants I’ve eaten in — not so much. The food is edible but not wonderful. My dad had steak that was passable but certainly nothing to name a restaurant after! I had all you can eat fish/shrimp and while the fish was delicious, I’m guessing the shrimp was previously frozen(and it all tasted the same, no matter how I ordered it). Side dishes weren’t great. Staff was polite but not spectacular. Certainly good enough if there’s nowhere else to eat, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

Today, I decided to try The Steak House in Rockmart for an early dinner. The restaurant is definitely a little out of the way. I was really surprised to find the parking lot with quite a few cars at 4:30 on a Saturday. I had an order of potato skins as an appetizer. They were excellent and huge. Much larger than any other restaurant that I have tried. I had a filet with a baked potato. It was cooked perfect. Not only was the food good, but the device was excellent as well. I’ll bring my wife back after seeing shrimp and grits as a special. Good job!

Good service and good specials on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Not overly impressed with the steak kabobs, will try something different if we go back.

This is another rural restaurant that’s good enough to thrive despite a very isolated location. The portions are large and the staff is very friendly. I like the blackened rib eye. The prime rib is another winner.
