Well, the ambiance was fine, a bit echo-y but cool art. The salads were very good. I ordered the Steak Oscar medium rare with lemon risotto. What I got was a plain steak that was slightly underdone(which I can handle fine) without the topping and mashed potatoes that were dry. Honestly, I didn’t notice the no topping thing until I had enjoyed almost all of my steak(that really was tasty). I was disappointed that the waitress said, «No, all of the steaks come with mashed», when I first received my plate. No offer to get the risotto instead and an argument that the menu states that it comes with ‘mashed’. We it does not. I looked afterward. At the point I realized I was missing my seafood topping I asked that the bill be rectified. They did that but with no offer for free desert or anything to cushion this not so stellar experience. Also, the prices on the website were lower than the prices on the menu. I won’t be giving them more of my money. There are other good steaks around with far better service!

The worst dining experience I have ever had. Food crashed to the floor and we waited an hour for food. We were told to have a reservation, but there was no one in the place. I got the flounder and it was bland and soggy. The risotto was bland and mushy. The vegetable were overcooked. It looked like a cafeteria plate. No design and no presentation. It was a scroop from an ice cream dish. Literally the waitress knocked down a tray of food and walked off. We heard her say that this is the worst day ever. She mad someone else clean it up. Our food, was not knocked down, but still took an hour and fifteen minutes to serve. It was a horrible experience with bad tasting food.

We finally tried it but were a bit disappointed. The gallery is fun the service is great but the food was only so so. We had escargot, which was different but good, oysters Orleans which was bland and cheesy but not great. Salad was bland but ok. Black drum gilroy was tender and asparagus good but still no flavor. We were planning on trying desert but decided to go home and have coffee and sweets there instead. Cute spot but only go if you want very bland food. Was glad to not have the usual fried everything but there are much better options in Rockport.

My toddler behaved so badly the night we went to this restaurant that it has taken me several months to write this review, I was so badly traumatized. We had gone there for an early dinner after the beach, but my one year old did not want to be there. At all. And kept crying and whining. And despite that, this restaurant handled it LIKE A CHAMP. Our waitress gave our daughters new coloring books and crayons and did everything within her power to make things better. Meanwhile, I’m looking around, sweating nervously, and thinking that people are not appreciating screaming with their meal. We go to the restroom, eat crackers, try everything… Bless their heart, someone who I think was the manager came over and said to me, «Don’t worry, there aren’t many people in the restaurant now, she’s not bothering anyone.» The food was fantastic and the ambiance was fabulous, minus the screaming toddler. The artwork was beautiful. Most importantly, I really felt touched that they tried so much to help us still have a good meal. So, I’m not saying that everyone with screaming children should head on over here. But the staff are astute professionals and they care, and with the spectacular food and location, this really is a place you should go.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! Definitely try the tomato basil soup! All the fish dishes are amazing! I had the Oscar and my boyfriend has the gilroy! Amazing place to eat and look at local artists art

Service and atmosphere were excellent. Try the escargot and shrimp dishes! However, my wife’s fish was rubber.

Excellent dining experience. Very attentive staff with excellent service. I am giving them 4! stars because though the entrees(salmon and beef tenderloin) were cooked very well and presented nicely, they lacked flavor. With my tenderloin came mashed potatoes that seemed to literally be a mashed potato with zero seasoning or butter, nothing. Same with the veggies for both dishes. The atmosphere is nice, business casual to casual, and whiter than most bay restaurants. The cheesecake was excellent though.

What a gem in a small town. We had a party of 8 on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this restaurant. I had the Red Snapper special, kids and hubby had the beef burgundy. They were both amazing. I especially enjoyed the lump blue crab appetizer. The cheesecake with amaretto sauce was sinful. It is pricey, but worth the splurge!

My wife and I normally split both the appetizer(s) and the dinner entrée. After being served blue crab in a dish of melted butter, we were served the black drum oscar style, with crab meat atop and hollandaise on the side. Similar to the appetizer, the entire dish was soaked with butter and oil. Melted butter was literally standing on the plate. We expressed our concerns with the hostess and she only agreed that butter was heavily applied to the dish. We did not eat the food and it remained on our bill. We then had to request they remove the charge from the bill. Bad food and bad service is what gets a «terrible» rating.

OMG! Did not expect this quality when we went in. We ate here 2 nights in a row because we knew we would be disappointed by any other seafood after eating here! The Hubster and I ate here this week and both nights ordered the Shrimp Gilroy, Blackened Fish with Chipotle Cream Sauce and started our meal with the Crab Cakes. The Crab Cakes were so very delicious. They were very meaty and no filler was to be found. The meals came with either salad or soup, I had the salad and he had the soup… I was amazed at how good the house salad was. The soup was very tasty as well. If you are ever in the area, go here. The food is outstanding and the service is great as well.

Great restaurant and neat atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and my wife and I liked looking at all of the coastal art. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The service and the food were both very good. We were pleasantly surprised that the prices were actually quite fair. The target demographic seemed to be retirees over 50(with a well-established clientele), which probably explains the lack of creativity in the menu. Also, the cabernet was served chilled which we thought was a little strange. Though the dishes were executed well, they were very basic and very boring. Glad we tried it, but it will probably be a one-time thing for us.

Great upscale restaurant in Rockport. If you’re looking for a nice night out with a nice dinner and cocktails, this is the place to go to. The cocktails are very well made, they have a cute little cocktail bar in the front. I love all the Art around this place. All local artists. It’s great that they support their artists. The tomato basil soup was the soup of the day and it was delicious. So fresh and flavorful. I followed the delicious soup with even more delicious duck. This place is phenomenal. Great service, fantastic food, perfect atmosphere to share with someone special.

I have to assume that all the five star reviews are because there is not much to choose from in Rockport. The service was excellent.(Jennifer was our server.) Good salad. Different, but good, clam chowder. Bread was tasty. Husband had the duck medallions. This dish seemed to be trying too hard. Average at best. Too much garlic in the green beans. I had Oysters Rockfeller. Very small, nothing special. We shared a crème brûlée. It was ok. I guess we are spoiled, living in Houston. This place would neve make it in Houston.

Ate here, shopped here… and LOVEDIT! From the outside you would not expect this to be a fine dining restaurant(as I only saw the gallery signage) but it turned out to be such a treat. My mother and I were immediately greeted by the host who also gave us a fabulous and very informative tour of the artwork. It was fun seeing familiar names on the walls — they really have a GREAT selection of art. I even walked away with the cutest lizard with sunglass water color piece: D As for the food & service — both excellent. Jennifer took excellent care of us and made me quite possibly one of the best Cosmo’s I’ve ever had. We started off with the buttery blue crab lump appetizer — so tasty I ate it alone with a spoon… and it was perfect for two people. The salads brought out before the meal were… for lack of better words… bad ass. The vinaigrette was soo good and it was tossed with olives, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, carrots, onions… very yummy! We shared the Shrimp Gilroy — so freaking good I can’t even put it into words — and the Blackened Drum w/a Crawfish Sauce — a little too spicy for me but overall very fresh in a generous portion size. The mashed potatoes were perfect and my mom said the rice was some of the best she’s ever had. Overalllll this place is a GREAT find! Prices are pricey, but still cheaper(to me) than if you got the same meal in Port A. The ambiance is fantastic — we opted for a little more casual in the bar, but the«gallery» side is more formal and looks like a great space for larger parties. Definitely make this your«nice night out» meal in Rockport and don’t forget to stroll through ALL the rooms(including the bathrooms) for fun art finds!
