Very Upset-I went in tonight to order a two piece catfish dinner and after waiting 25 minutes for the meal, left. I called the manager to complain and the manager was rude over the phone and very unapologetic. Other customers were getting served but not me– They obviously forgot about my order. rude customer service– Poor service and bad behavior– DONOTEATTHERE

I normally love me some chicken express but we have gone here twice with disappointing results. Chicken is usually cold and they typically forget to give you the hot roll.

Two of the tenders were freshly fried. Tasted great. The other two from the number 1 combo tasted stale and lukewarm. When it is chewy and not crunchy, it take off stars. Fries were very greasy, looks like oil temperature was not high enough. Or maybe fries just sat out too long. Gravy and tea were fine. The roll was small and didn’t taste as good as the highway 78 Sacshe location. That location could teach this place a thing or two about quality. To be fair, the Sacshe location had their fair share of quality issues but have since corrected them.

The ONLY reason im giving this place a two instead of a one is because the guy who took my money was actually nice. As for the girl that followed to hand me my tea, and flipped my straw at me, her attitude was unnecessary. HOWDO U NEVERHAVECHICKENREADY? i understand getting a rush and then taking a breather, but its like this location is ALWAYS taking a breather. Advice… When u are running low on chicken(matters not what limb it is) begin to fry more. Customers care not about the reason why its taking 15 minutes every-time they come by, we just care that it does. I CANT get in and out of ROCKWALLCHICKENEXPRESS in less than 20 – 25 minutes. I had time to write this whole review, proof read it, edit it, and post it. Sad.

Can not believe a «manager» would speak to an employee in the manner I just heard. She was verbal abusing this young man. Talking to him as if he was less than her, a dog. She clearly has zero management skills and needs to be fired. I spoke up about the way she was speaking to him and she asked me how I’d handle and employee that was like him… Funny, a customer /family walked in as I was at the counter an they said they have heard her treat employees that way before! Owner of the Rockwall location better take notice… Your driving your customers away and most likely that’s why you have a help wanted sign on your door… Appalling behavior!

I don’t get their chicken. About the only reason I go here is to get their catfish. It’s pretty good. Not great, but I call ahead and place an order so when I get there, I only have to wait 5 or 10 minutes in line, then I have to explain to the young illiterate at the register that I called ahead for fish, then she charges me for chicken, which is the wrong price. At that point she can’t figure out how to run the register so the manager has to come over and show her how to do it(again). Had same problem last time I was there. So, the girl had already swiped my card, so the manager has to manually calculate how much MORE I owe for fish instead of chicken, then they have to swipe my card AGAIN so they can get the rest of their money out of me. All during this process, the manager never makes eye contact with me, the customer, and she never apologizes for the problem or the delay. This is why if you call ahead, the fish is cooked but it takes them 10 minutes to get you out of there, even when there is no one else at the counter but me and the obvious trainee and the manager.

i decided to write a review because it seems everyone wants to say bad not enough people want to say good. i guess thats the society we live in now everyone wants to be negative. i’ve been going to this store for about 5+ years. They have their ups and downs with employees it’s obvious, but seems to be a norm in that biz. They have a core of great employees. anyway everything was great today. they were extremely busy it was a sunday lunch, dining room was packed and driver thru had cars all around the building but moving quickly. I chose to come inside to hit the bathroom but it allowed me to see how all the employees were hustling. every employee was trying to their hardest to get the order correct and it was. hot and free tenders & great sweet tea as always. keep it up and i’ll be coming for another 5+ years.

What can I say. This food is much like any other fast food joint in that it has a very skewed fat-to-healthy ratio, it’s excessively greasy, fatty, and salty in every respect, and yet, Chicken Express fills a deep hole in my comfort food place that only it can do. Truly a guilty pleasure, Chicken Express leaves me feeling satisfied on a level that no other greasy, fatty, salty drive-through cardiac event can do. The batter is laced with crunchy addictive goodness and the biscuits and rolls are made from little bits of doughy heaven. Make sure you get them fresh. I’m ready for my nap now.

I have been to other chicken express locations and this one pales in comparison. Dry chicken which was lukewarm and two of the pieces cooked overdone, cold dinner roll, lukewarm fries, lukewarm gravy and a cherry pie with more powdered substance than a Colombians nose! With just a generic filling– nothing special. The sweet tea is ridiculously sweet(definitely a positive) and the people were nice, although chatting about other coworkers and flirting with each other loud enough for the whole place to hear doesn’t make for the best eating atmosphere.

To be honest, I have only ever eaten food from here once. And to be honest, with exception of the hot, buttery rolls(which are extremely hard to mess up) it wasnt that awesome. The chicken strips are a little too greasy for me. I typically like a distinct CRUNCH to my chicken strips which these didnt have. The corn nuggets are okay but not the best I have ever hard. The gravy is good but not as good as Whataburger. So why FIVE stars you say? Two words: SWEET. TEA. Their sweet tea is RIDICULOUS sweet and is most certainly the epitome of Southern sweet tea. I dont even think it is thin enough to be counted as a liquid. I think it truly is almost as thick a syrup. Coats your ribs real nice! If you know whats good for you, and you live near one… GO!
