Fireside Chicken and Tacos

D-​licious! This place is a little gem in Rockwall! The food is phenomenal! I have had the ½ Chicken with a generous side (I mean GENEROUS) of guacamole-​FRESH! Let’s begin with the seasonings on this chicken… AHHHHHmazing! Chicken is tender, moist and full of flavor! You have got to try it! I have also had the Greek Wrap, another great choice! Can’t say anything bad about this place. My hubby has had the roasted chicken with veggies and also, the fish tacos! Both were raved about afterwards! This will be a favorite spot of ours. The prices are sooooo affordable for the amount of food you get. The staff is fantastic… very helpful and pleasant. Go and check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

Wow — I don’t know what to make of all these other reviews that rave about the food. I don’t know if they have a new chef, or had an off night, or ??? but the group of six of us were each unimpressed with the food last night. The chicken was universally overcooked (very dry) — even the half chicken. The chips were nearly ok, but were a tad overcooked as well (tasted a tiny bit burned). The mega taco was indeed mega — so unwieldy that you couldn’t realistically eat it without a knife and fork (they could take a lesson from Freebirds here). And beware that the fried banana desert has chocolate under it. The one thing we have to give them is that the portions are a reasonable size.
The atmosphere was respectable and the staff were pleasant, but they need to up their food quality if they hope to survive — competition is stiff in this market!

We visited today for the first time and we all had tacos. The steak tacos are very tender and the flavor is nice and fresh. The shredded chicken tacos are a tad dry, but anytime you have shredded chicken, it’s going to dry out. They may want to consider the two tortilla method because they get soggy and fall apart fast. But, the taste is still good and worth every bite! The salsas are very good, we especially loved the hot Verde. The mild is very, very mild and I’m sure our girls wouldn’t even mind it. We loved the red onions on the bar and the seasoning adds a great indescribable taste to the tacos. The restaurant was clean and service was very friendly. Definitely worth a trip!

This place was really a pleasant surprise. Just over a month old, it’s located in a small strip mall next to Walmart. It’s dine-​in fast food causal (with delivery!), mostly Tex-​Mex but there are a few other things as well.
The first surprise was how nice the interior is. Very smartly decorated and spotless. They have someone who delivers the food to the tables and he was awesome. When not bringing out food, he was busy wiping down the condiment bar and making sure everything was clean.
I’ve only been here once, but can’t say enough about the roasted half-​chicken combo my wife had (yes, she shared some). The skin has just the right level of crispiness and the rub was out of this world good. The chicken was medium sized, but was cooked perfectly. The combo came with some fresh, steak cut fries that were slightly crispy on the outside, with a nice fluffy inside and again, perfectly seasoned with salt & pepper. Your combo included one side, for which she chose an awesome serving of guacamole.
I was hoping to try some pork Tacos Al Pastor, but they only offered chicken Tacos Al Pastor. So I decided to try the Green Chili Burrito (added Steak) and added a side of bean soup. Both were good, but didn’t hold a candle to the half-​chicken combo.
I can’t wait to come back and try some other dishes, but it will be really hard not to get the half-​chicken combo!

Was excited to try a new place. disappointing. The service was VERY slow. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to come out. It wasn’t right at lunch time so we were surprised it was so slow. Once the food did come out it was so so. I had the rotisserie chicken it was moist but the vegetables were awful. I did not even eat them. My husband had quesadilla which were about the same as a Taco Bell.

This is a really great place to eat. I read all the previous reviews of this place, and was excited to try it. For $ 7.95, I got a half chicken, 2 sides, a drink, and dessert. Can you believe that? They have a special on Unilocal where if you check in when you’re there, you get a free dessert if you spend $ 25. We didn’t reach the $ 25 threshold, but he gave us our free dessert anyway, which I really appreciated. It was delicious. They have three dessert options — — tres leches cake, fried banana with berries, and flan. I got the Tres Leches cake. The only complaint I had was the free tortilla chips were very oily and greasy. Still pretty good, but they were glistening with oil. But since they were free, I guess I really can’t complain too much. My roommate got the quesadilla which he said was equally delicious, and looked very tasty. I think I might try that next time. I will definitely be back because the food is delicious and very very reasonable.

I enjoyed chatting with the owner, who was both helpful and courteous. The menu presents an assortment of choices. I enjoyed the healthier grilled chicken and veggies. The salsa bar is also a nice addition.

Yum! This was a pleasant surprise… very affordable and tasty! I mean… seriously affordable! BYOB too! The Street Tacos were all GREAT! My favorite was the Chicken Pibil, such good flavor! The steak taco was YUM! They have a nice Salsa bar and complimentary chips. Will definitely be returning! I hope they do well! Nice people!

Hoping it is just opening month issues, but food was bland or worse. Service was friendly.

Yum! Quick, easy for quick bite, & good. The half roasted chicken with grilled veggies is a healthy option. We will be back!

It’s alright. The food took quite a while to come out, and once we got it my husbands was wrong. I offered to say something for him but he’d just rather eat it.
I got a fish taco, steak, and pastor.
The fish and pastor were pretty good. Didn’t like the steak though, was a little tough and pretty bland. The tacos look pretty they garnish nicely but definitely lacking seasoning in the meat.
Other pro is they have a salsa bar and give chips with your order.

Stopped in with the family. The mega taco was awesome. Loved the salsa and everything was made fresh to.order. They deliver in a five mile radius. Great customer service.

First time in, I think today is their 4^th day open. Really good food. I love to mix and match tacos and this is the place to do it. Tried most of the flavors of tacos between myself and my wife’s order. Really great fish tacos and the shrimp tacos are the best in the area. Great place to bring the family, great prices, glad to have these guys in Rockwall!

Wow this place is great! Delicious tacos, chicken, burritos and sandwiches. Made fresh from scratch on site. Friendly staff really working hard to please. My first visit, the chicken was delicious if slightly under seasoned for my taste but the grilled veggies and grilled potato wedges were perfection. My second visit was even better. Steak taco with avocado/​cilantro and fish taco. The folks in the next booth were raving about their meal too. Give this place a try and support small local business. You can’t go wrong here.

You walk in and its bright and fresh looking. We ordered several kinds of tacos and I even asked some one else about the chicken because it looked so good! The steak classic, the Chicken al pastor and Firefighter shrimp tacos. All were fantastic, tender, moist and fresh tasting ingredients! The salsa bar had 3 different kinds of hot sauce, from mild to an awesome hot salsa verde. The hours are great, even later on Friday & Saturday (11:00pm). This will def be a go to spot all the time!

Went to this newly opened restaurant and loved it! Tried several tacos including steak, shrimp and chicken — all were very tasty and prepared with fresh ingredients. Fireside also offers roasted chicken and fish dinner plates that look delicious. With great food, good prices very friendly staff, this will definitely be on my list of regular lunch or dinner options.

This place just opened yesterday so I was curious to what a place that is titled chicken and tacos was like. They sell rotisserie chicken and assortment of tacos and burritos that have chicken and some beef. I ordered half rotisserie chicken with guacamole and #12 steak taco and #14 Chicken pibil taco. I also ordered a side of beans and rice. I will start with the good. The chicken was very good. It was tasty and cooked tenderly well. The side of guacamole tasted freshly made. The two complimentary hot sauces were very spicy but I like spicy. Both tacos were good but you really have to add one of the sauces or guacamole or it was a little bland. The chicken taco was better than the beef. The potato wedges that came with the rotisserie chicken were great. The side order of beans was so so. Nothing great to write about. The rice was disappointing because it was very bland and undercooked. I could taste raw rice in my only bite. The guy in charge was very nice and as most establishments starting off it was a little slow. They have a sign still looking for help. I ordered this to go and it held up for a to go order. I will come back for sure for the tasty rotisserie chicken

Ordered for the family tonight. This was the first time trying it. The delivery was fast and the food was great. Half chicken dinners were very tasty. Buffalo wings were perfectly cooked. I love the fact that they deliver. I wish this new restaurant
