Boars Nest

Went there for dinner, the bartender said «sit where you’d like». This was the only person who spoke to me. After waiting for 10 minutes, I left. No waiter/​waitress ever came to my table, no menu, no drink order, nothing. It makes sense why the place was practically empty.

If zero was an option, this review would be a zero. I keep trying to like Boar’s best because it’s convenient… but the reality is Boar’s Nest is literally the worst sports bar in NWA. If you can even get one of the staff to not be a jerk for 2 seconds and do their job, you end up wishing you would have walked out. The food is disgusting, the service is worse and that leaves nothing worth staying for. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to JJs or somewhere else, this place is not worth your time.

Great atmosphere. Plenty of seating. I personally love the fried shrimp. My boyfriend is a big fan of the wings. The cheese fries with brisket are delicious if you don’t mind the carbs.

This location started with much promise. Across the street from the ever full JJs. Replacing Louie’s. Great food. Individual booths with TV.

Service is garbage.
Back of the house is awful: Saran Wrap in the dip, dishes not as advertised.
The place is over run with white trash and reeks of r cigs.
Probably my last visit… And I was a regular. Sigh

Severely disappointing… we order a lot of to go food at work & wanted to try this place… MISTAKE! 3 of us got the Big Willy & they forgot half the components… queso & shredded cheese. The 2 tamales were tiny & dried out. They don’t even use real Frito Lay Fritos! No plans to eat here in the future even w/​the «kid’s eat free all the time», I’d rather pay double for my daughter to eat somewhere else.

Pulled pork sandwich is very moist and full of flavor. Wings are really good and priced well. Have not had a bad experience at any of the locations.

I’m a big fan of their queso chicken sandwich and nachos. Portions are insanely big, bring your appetite.

Atmosphere 4 star. Service 3 star. Food… Pass. Fun place to watch a game or meet up with people. Just go somewhere else to eat

Had the Redfish. Don’t get it. VERY dry and there is a VERY unappetizing looking side dish down the center of the plate that looks like vomit. It tasted good but I was very hesitant to try it. The fish itself is coated in way too much rub… I guess to cover the dryness. The «double bar» bar design makes it very difficult to see the tv… to find a good spot. Go to Chilis.

Went for lunch. Table next to us got up and left because no one ever came to take care of them. Food was lukewarm. BBQ was subpar-​brisket was tough. The sauces they had tableside were good-that’s about it. Seems like a better place to have a drink and watch a game than go for lunch.

Music very loud heard the F word 5 times more than I wanted!!! Want be back!!! Good and service great. But want be back.

this place– it is what it is. i go at least once a week because it’s across the street from work, and… and this is the important part…

so basically it’s cheaper than drinking at home. I can tell you, though, the food is… :pause: the only thing I eat here is side salads. if you really really REALLY like salt you might be a fan of the food, but personally I’ll stick with the salads (really a bargain at $ 2).
three of the bartenders are great! the rest need to go back to school. in truth I’d normally give this place a 1.5 star but come on, half price booze? that boosts it into «tolerable!»

Don’t go unless you want a bad time. I couldn’t get a seat and the waitress looked at me as if I didn’t exist when I walked in the door. Sorry I guess the US Navy shirt threw her off. Oh well I am sure it is a good place but seeing I didn’t look like Brad Pitt I couldn’t make it past the carpet at the door. Maybe one day I will make it in the door.

Loved the chicken wings. Very unique flavor without breading and not covered up in sauce. And the potato salad was different too. It was creamy with a lot of potato flavor. Nice relaxing place to chill.

Super nice people! We met Cat, Becca and Mike, and they were all really nice. The drinks were good, and the appetizer of popcorn shrimp was very good, and reasonably priced. Convenient location, and the favorite place of our local friends, Shawn and Crystal!

Had the shrimp and crawfish étouffée. It was awesome and the staff was also awesome, very attentive and friendly.

Tried the new Boars Nest location, even though I have never had the one in F’ville but we wanted to watch the game and they took over the former Louie’s location. The set up is the same so plenty of tvs at the bar, around the walls and many of the booths have their own tv’s. Still very cool.
Now onto the food. Its considered Delta BBQ and cajun food. Many choices. The two I was with had a brisket sandwich and a smoked chicken sandwich. They were both «meh» on their review and said they had had better. I sampled the gumbo, which looked green instead of brown. Way too spicy and peppery for me. I was not in the mood for BBQ and ordered the catfish. I didn’t read the fine print describing the meal but ti was battered in a light «spicy» batter. Well, it tasted as though I was eating buffalo wild wings. Not enjoyable at all. Not really filets, little pieces at that. The fries are those battered look fries-​not my favorite and then there was 3 huge hushpuppies. Well they were raw in the middle, Gooey dough so I sent them back. They brought more out. Raw again. It took 5 minutes to get the waitress to understand my requested drink order-​sweet tea with sweet tea vodka and it took 20 min to get our check.
I doubt I will visit this joint again.
