I used to eat here all the time. It closed over a month ago. There is now a lock on the door that’s for real estate agents to use.

Our family loves this restaurant. We’ve been coming here regularly for at least 6 yrs. always great food and lots of it. We appreciate the coupons at times as well! We’ve eaten in but mostly do takeout. Wld gave gone there tonight but see they are remodeling. Look forward to visiting again soon. Favorite dishes… Mongolian beef, tomato beef chow mein, pot stickers, ribs, cherry pork… it’s all good. Enjoy soups too!

I’m very torn about Confucius because they used to be very good. I ate there quite a bit but my last meal was so horrible that I never went back. I ordered the sweet and sour tofu which isn’t on the menu but they always make it for me. I guess they had a new chef who didn’t understand that you cook it as you would sweet and sour chicken. There were strings of corn starch hanging off the tofu(it’s as gross as it sounds) and it was completely inedible. I can’t risk spending money on a dish like that again(it was for delivery so I just ended up losing money). Also on a side note, the fish tank is often dirty and the fish don’t have much air. It’s kind of depressing and I wish they would take better care of it(like China Chef does).

Surprisingly tasty food for a shopping center location. Portions are huge e.g. single order of pot stickers is six giant pieces that must weigh over a pound in total. Three kinds of seafood dish(can’t remember what they actually called it) was really delicious with ample shrimp, scallop and calamari plus snow peas. Highly recommend this dish. Hot and sour soup order was large enough for two with enough left over for next day lunch. Also tasty and spicy enough to make me break a sweat. Surroundings are pleasant in a plastic kind of way but a table cloth would enhance the dining experience.

Good restaurant, service can be hit or miss. The old owners knew how to run a restaurant better than the current ones. Delicious food though!

Food was good, prices were great for the amount you got. Three of us ate for $ 23 and we left full. The Mongolian beef was some of the best I have had. We also had pork fried rice which was ok, nothing special, but decent, and a large portion. We ordered a small won ton soup which was more than enough for 3. The won tons were delicious and it was a nice light broth. It’s a decent place for a decent price and the service was very good.

I came in on a Sunday afternoon, service was good, I liked the pace and order that the food came to us in. I had the spicy green beans. Delicious! Idk what the other people ordered but all our food was great! And ya the place needs«restaurant impossible’s» interior decorating team to come in and work their magic cuz it’s kinda a mess but it’s a hot mess cuz of its great food

This used to be the best Chinese food in the area, However, the owners sold it a few years ago and the quality has gone down. Way down. Also, tonight, we thought we’d give it another try — hoping the new owners would have improved things, but the place was so dirty, our shoes STUCK to the floor. We were then seated at a table that was so dirty, I wanted to leave. Requested that someone clean it and had to ask twice. They used a dirty dishrag and smeared the food all around the table. I looked at the walls and they had food dripping from them. Old food stuck on top of new food. Disgusting! If the dining area is that filthy, I don’t want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. Yuck! Right now, the best Chinese food is «Kirin» — near Bennett Valley. That place is clean and the food is very, very good. If you think restaurants ought to care about cleanliness, then I would avoid«Confucious.»

Darn! I was hoping that after not eating here for over ten years that maybe it had improved — it has not. Yesterday, I went over to Sushiko to try to get lunch at 2:45 pm, but like most restaurants they were closed in between lunch and dinner. So, I drove around and saw that Confucius Restaurant was open, and thought why not? I was promptly seated in their main room which has a huge, lovely stained-glass ceiling treatment and has been there for as long as I remember. The waiter and waitress both serving me were polite. They brought me hot tea and quickly took my order; a bowl of Egg Flower Soup with added tomato and shrimp. It was a small serving bowl, so it was a lot to eat. It looked and smelled delicious and I had the entire restaurant to myself. But, within a few minutes I felt my stomach tense up like I was getting an allergic reaction — something extremely rare for me. The only time I’ve had reactions like that with Chinese food has been when they cook with MSG [Monosodium Glutamate] or «Accent.» Even then I don’t think I get reactions that often, because its only happened a few times in my life. In the 1980’s, I frequently had to ask Chinese restaurants specially NOT to use MSG because it was the norm in those days. I don’t think it is the norm anymore and I don’t think Accent really improves taste in any way when they do use it. I also really do not like chemicals in food at all! The pain in my stomach lasted all through lunch and about a half-hour afterwards, typical for my reaction to MSG. The soup was not bad. I just couldn’t enjoy it when it hurt my stomach that much. I wanted to give Confucius Restaurant 3 stars, but I cannot. MSG? Come on, really? Review 0045

Subpar food, mediocre service, cheap beer. Panda Express has fresher & better tasting food. Just finished eating and I don’t feel so well. I don’t even want to write about the food because I want it out of my memory as quickly as possible. They have a cool ceiling.

This place used to be good in the 90’s! But now it’s a horrible shadow of what it used to be. They use tortillas as mu shu pancakes, their potstickers had a fishy after taste, and the noodles a sloppy greasy pile. Their rice is hard yet greasy at the same time! I hate coming here and would rather go almost anywhere else. Its too bad, I had good childhood memories here.

It wasn’t bad… but It definitely was not anywhere near good! Way too expensive for the quality of food and service. They say they close at 9:30, but at 8:50 right after they gave us our food they were already asking how we would like to pay. It felt really rushed, and after we paid they stopped coming around to check on us!

I’m sorry. I am simply tired of crappy service. I wasn’t feeling good and wanted to have some soup. My local go to for Chinese is Dynasty here in Rohnert Park but they were closed. So, Confucius was right around the corner and I came there. It was about 3:30 when I walked in. I looked at the hours and they were open. I started to walk toward the restaurant and the one waiter working a shift started to step out for a smoke. I looked at the posted hours and it said it was open. I checked with him before he lit his cigarette to make sure they were open and he said that the cook was having his lunch. He did a double take and looked to see the cook getting up from his lunch(why this is my issue I have no idea) and then informed me that I could sit down. He told me that they were preparing for dinner and that I could order off the dinner menu. Fine. I asked if they had Wor Won Ton soup and he said they did. I ordered a bowl of that. He brought me water and tea. After a moment I went to pour my tea, but I had no tea cup. I sat and waited for him to buzz by and had to ask. When I wanted a water refill, he was not to be seen. After a few moments, I went over and grabbed the water, poured me a glass and then kept it at the table. My soup came and I decided that I wanted a bowl of rice. After another few moments, I had to stand up and find him to ask for rice. Keep in mind that I was the only person in the restaurant. I was finished with my soup and asked for a to go container. When he came back to my table, he practically threw it in my hand. I rarely stiff anyone. If I have poor service then I may leave a 10 percent tip. However, i saw no reason to tip the waiter anything for his severe lack of attentiveness. I am just tired of piss poor service. There was no reason for this. I do not want to be fawned over, but holy jeebus on a frickin crutch, considering that I am the only person in there, please mr. waiter, be a little more attentive… orrrrr, just be a little attentive. If I have to get up and get things or find you in the restaurant, and if you shove things in my face, then you most certainly deserve a negative write up on Unilocal. I would think. yes, i’m gonna say it again… I would think that in today’s economy, businesses would be a bit more aware of service and want to keep customers, not send them away. I should say that the soup was actually good. The service absolutely ruined it though.

I like to go here and get a big bowl of Hot and Sour and some egg rolls. I usually end up going on my own, and I get left pretty much alone which is nice. The food is good and the lunch special is definitely worth it.

I wish I looked at the reviews prior. The food wasn’t bad… it just really wasn’t anything, especially for the prices. $ 16.25 per person for family style eating. Pretty steep when the food comes out one by one. There literally was 5 minute waits between each dish. We just had to get over being polite and waiting for everyone’s food to arrive. Also our waiters were nice, but one spilt ice on the table when refilling drinks and then left it there. Ice = water and our table had literally a puddle on it. Wont be back.

The one decent chinese place in Rohnert Park. Unless one of those on east cotati is in Rohnert Park? One of them was alright also, but I don’t remember which so I won’t investigate further. I go here for lunch sometimes since it’s close to my work. Their lunch specials are TONS of food for the price. For $ 7 – 8 you get soup, salad, wontons, rice or chow mien, and an entrée. I usually go for the kung pao shrimp, but the mongolian beef is pretty killer also. For dinner, the house special chow mien is enough to feed three people by itself and has shrimp, chicken, and beef in it. The best part of this place is the Crab Rangoon. They are a little hit and miss with it… especially for take-out/delivery, but when they do get it right they are pretty amazing. The service has never been fantastic, but they don’t keep you hanging around forever either. I’ve never had a bad experience, but have never been ecstatic either.

Being a foodie, I try not to be biased when it comes to reviewing places especially restaurants. I rely on what I read on Unilocal but I definitely check it out. I was wondering why this restaurant have an overall 2.5 stars review when I think that they serve real good food. We went here to celebrate a 40th anniversary dinner for my heart-husband’s parents. We had a real feast(you can check the photo I uploaded.) Their service was very attentive and their food great. Our area was located inside a private room. I may have taken one star out because I think that their decorations weren’t really matching the ambiance. Still, it’s a great Chinese restaurant with lots of ample parking outside since it’s located in a strip mall. The strip mall itself has other competitive restaurants in it. So, I don’t really rely on the negative comments written on reviews especially when the comments were more leaning towards non-sense and insignificant accounts towards the business establishments. I had to see for myself and experience why such negativity was poured into this place when my experience was the total opposite. I highly recommend that you try the Chinese food here. It may not be totally authentic Chinese food since it’s mostly Americanized in my terms, but still, they were cooked once ordered and were not sitting in a food warmer somewhere. Definitely not a 2.5 stars restaurant. It’s a four star place for me. I wouldn’t blame this place if other competitors are trying to bring it down via negative reviews. What they offer is highly competitive. I’ll definitely go back here again.

We got takeout from here the other night. The chow mein was so-so the mongolian beef not spicy enough and the fried rice a little bland. There are lots of other places close in proximity that are much better. Staff was friendly and prompt. most likely won’t be back tho.
