Ordered the lunch special mongolian chicken with hot and sour soup… its pretty excellent especially for just over 5 bucks for a ton of food! I’ll definitely be back

It is my first visit to this restaurant, I walked in blindly(without reading prior reviews). It was lunch time and the place was empty which I thought was a bad sign, but I decided to stick it out. The interior is nice, very clean compared to other places I’ve seen in Rome. I was greeted immediately as I looked at the menu. It consisted of typical Chinese fare, but was missing orange chicken which I was bummed about. That dish is probably the most popular and most ordered dish in any Chinese restaurant. I decided to order the curry chicken with onion and the hot wings. The curry came fifteen minutes later and looked good. I ordered the smaller serving and it was more than enough for my voracious appetite. The chicken was very tender and the sauce was flavorful without being overly salty. I did find myself wishing for a heavier sauce to soak in the rice as it was basically a coating of the sauce. The wings came ten minutes after that and I was a bit perplexed. The spicy wings I have ordered in the past were a crispy fried chicken tossed with some Huy Fong chili garlic sauce. When I opened the container what I found was straight up buffalo wings. I like Frank’s RedHot as much as the next guy, but not with Chinese food. If they replaced the Frank’s with some Sriracha, that would be a step in the right direction. Overall, the food was good, the service friendly, but it wasn’t anything that I would find myself craving every fortnight. I would try to look past the negative reviews and give them a chance!

Just another Rome low quality Chinese food place. Don’t expect much but large portions. And check your order. I had Cashew Chicken, and they forgot to add the cashews. She gave me a cup with cashews that I could add to my meal. The nuts looked old so I passed on those. The meal lacked flavor, and the egg roll was bland.

The one time I ordered it was during lunch time. I called at 12pm for a carry out order. They said my order would be ready at 12:15 I got there at 12:10, my food wasn’t ready until 12:30. I was very disappointed with the slow service, but the food was not bad by any means. Happy Wok is one of the better Chinese restaurants in Rome, but that is not saying much.

Hey, this isn’t gourmet. I don’t want or need it to be. The staff there are so friendly, and they are fast. Food is always hot. We have had General Tso’s(generic, exactly what you expect), Beef with Broccoli, Pork Lo Mein and Pork Fried Rice. All are tasty, NOT over salted.

Terrible. I’m not sure the beef and broccoli I ordered actually contained beef. It was some type of very moist, gooey meat. Plus, my husband found a HAIR in his Mongolian beef, which was also inedible. Guess you get what you pay for. Very disappointed!
