Been 3 times now and each time has been great. Last night my husband and I ate there for dinner and the food was amazing and we had great service. We have a new favorite place! 5 stars!

Had my first date with the love of my life here. We still go back on the month anniversary every month. Love the people and the food. All around great small town place.

The food is good old fashioned American food — I have no complaints. The drinks are good — not weak but just strong enough. At one time, they had an outside area where they would let me bring in my dog — what’s not to like? And most importantly, I’ve had good service each and everytime I’ve been there.

Haven’t heard much has changed. I’d love it if a really good Pub came into Ronald. It’s needed!

Super yummy burgers and fries and tots and beer! Mellow atmosphere lots of space for my little(5) to explore. The place has cleaned up quite a bit since I was here 2 years ago. Instead of going to the Brick drive a little ways to Ronald and get yourself some yummy food!

Great food, drinks and live music. Camping off 903, we stumbled upon this place looking for an easy dinner and a few drinks. Food hits the spot and the prices are fantastic. A generous steak dinner can be had for around $ 15. The burgers and fries looked great, and the portions generous to huge. Drinks are poured roadhouse style(that is, strong), and the waitstaff is attentive and polite without hovering. Great place for a break from the woods. The only minor complaint is that with windows and doors open in summer, cigarette smoke wafts inside a bit. Only an issue when eating, otherwise no big deal. Especially fun was what appeared to be their local house band, «Naked Bacon.» They really knew how to pull the crowd to the dance floor and sounded fantastic. The songs included«In Memory of Elizabeth Reed» — as a lifelong Allman Bros fan, I thought they nailed it. I talked to the guitar player for a bit who said they are there again August and Labor Day weekend. If we’re camping in the area Labor Day, we will definitely stop in.

New owners! Great new owners! The food is awesome. Had a mother lode burger. Juicy. I mean juicy dripping down the arms juice! ! Hoping for fresh cut fries soon, and I can dig that. Anthony was cooking and he know and cares about each plate going out! The wife had some of the best prime rib she has had in quite sometime. Big ol slap of juice filled, no grizzle meat. Fork tender Big baker was awesome! Cole slaw was fresh and cruchy! Thank the lord that the last one owner sold. He almost ruined a great icon. Owner should never get Fubar in there own bar! We shall be returning to eat and drink! KUDOSTOYOUNEWOWNERS!

As previously noted, there’s definitely a new feel to the Old #3. The ceiling used to be full of hats and grungy dollar bills lined the walls. These have all been discarded. If you never saw the old place you’d probably walk in and think nothing of it. It’s now a regular place with no distinguishing characteristics. It could be a run of the mill bar/restaurant anywhere in the country. I missed the character. My husband missed the golf video game. The food is fine, nothing amazing, but nothing to write home about. Basic bar food, burgers, sandwiches and fried food. The service was also fine, not amazing. The food did come quickly and the waitress was kind enough to bring me some crunchy, delicious pickles. They really hit the spot. However on a trip to the restroom, the toilet seat fell off the toilet. It’s not attached. I’m sure it was at one point, but obviously it’s been broken for awhile. Then the toilet wouldn’t flush. I even lifted the lid on the tank to see if the chain had just come loose. Nope, it just slowly runs. What a lovely last thought as we headed out the door.

Update! I wish I could give them 0 stars now. They pulled all the dollar bills off the walls, I’m still scratching my head on that one. As I mentioned in my first review I had bills on the walls since 1995. The prices have doubled and service is now terrible! The«last» time I was in there and I do mean it will be the LAST time I was told all the changes were from new management. When we stopped in it was on our traditional«role into town hot» getting ready for the weekend. I should of known something was up when there was only three cars in the parking lot on a Friday night. Long story short, this place now SUCKS and don’t bother going further to the last resort, it’s even worse! Maybe the Brick is still the place to be if you want to risk getting busted in the«lions den.» Be careful driving in Roslyn and Ronald, the cops are everywhere!

It’s been two years since my last visit to the Old No 3 and the food was just as awesome as always! As a local, I am so pleased that they re-built the No 3 after it burned to the ground in 2002, but I have to note that they never got the old ramshackle atmosphere back. You just can’t get the right«redneck» feel in a bright, well-light modern building! Still, the food was amazing(as always!) and the place was fairly steady for a Thursday night.(Loads of locals; it’s great seeing that the same old folks are still there!) I had a bacon cheese burger; Dad had the Mother Load burger; Mum had the Captain’s Plate. I couldn’t manage all of my fries but Mum and Dad managed to nearly clean their plates. I was disappointed in the beer selection, but this is because I’ve been living in Scotland where I am spoilt for choice. For a small-town, local bar and grille, the beer selection was probably great!(I’m just a beer snob.) I had a bottle of IPA that I won’t recommend … Service was great and the place was quiet enough to chat. In fact, an old high school friend of Mum’s stopped at our table to do just that! It’s the place in town that my folks go when they want a burger. And if the folks go there(they don’t go *anywhere*!) you know it’s worth it!

Not exactly reinventing the wheel here. With that being said the staff is super friendly and the bar food is pretty good. I’ve eaten here many times and always enjoy myself. You know exactly what you’re getting here. No surprises. Today I had a bowl of chili with cheese and onion with a corn bread muffin for $ 4.25. I would definitely order again. The staff are laid back and the patrons are respectful and just as friendly.

If I could express how fun country dive bars are… They have all sorts of hats and dollar bills on the wall(similar to the style at Beths café with all of the drawings around). The kicker, the bakroom is the bra room… Many a dozen bras lay nailed to the ceiling. One ol man recollects one woman’s contribution: She took her shirt off, took her bra off, hung it up and never put her shirt back on… For the rest of the night. Nuff Said…

This place is exactly what you’d expect it to be. It’s a bar in(pretty much) the middle of nowhere. I went with a large group of dudes for a bachelor party and actually spent more time talking/tipping beers with the locals than with my buddies. The owner came by our table at least 3 times to crack jokes and make sure we were taken care of. Our server was also very good; she split the check for 18 guys and didn’t complain a bit. This is a great place to go get rowdy.

Went here for breakfast/lunch with my family. We were on vacation and were on our way home but decided to grab a bite before hitting the road. Outside is a big sign that says they serve breakfast. My younger siblings pointed to it as soon as we drove by it. As you walk to the front door, there’s a note that says no persons under 21 are permitted after 9 pm. Noted, it was about 10:30−11 am I believe. But to sum it up, it’s definitely not a very family-friendly and tourist-friendly spot. Yes, there is a dining room but it isn’t the place to go have meals with your family. Immediately as we walked in, there was a dull stench of alcohol of some sort and we were given glares by the old men at the bar. One guy at the bar, probably a regular, made us feel like we were really unwelcomed and were intruding. The waitress looked surprise to see us as if she hadn’t seen customers in a group before. She was nice and polite though, she sat us down and gave us our menus. Again, the guy at the bar wouldn’t leave us alone, he kept looking at us at our table. He then utters something to the same waitress we had who was now making his drink. I hear her respond, «Give them their space!» It was really uncomfortable. *Food: Not bad. American. Burgers. Endless fries. Soup. Coleslaw. Chicken strips, etc. *Environment: Not family friendly. Dim lighting. Drunk old men. Rednecks. Dollar bills on the walls, ceilings, lights, every surface(which I thought was pretty cool). *Service: Good. Nice lady. — — - I think management needs to decide whether they want to market to and welcome a broader audience like families for their food/breakfast or just stick to the adult/bar/biker/redneck atmosphere.

I am from the area and I remember sitting in the Old#3 when I was just a little kid. There used to be hundreds of hats and miner’s helmets on the ceiling and they were all lost when the bar burned down. In response to previous reviews, I am sorry that you were given mis-information regarding the origin of the $ 1 bills. The bills were not rescued from the old building, that was a COMPLETE loss. There was nothing left at all. The money on the wall became a new tradition because the health codes were a little strict about used hats hanging above food :) I however have never found that the people are rude or un-welcoming to anyone from out of town. Our towns in this area survive on tourism and we do not mind intrusion, it has been happening for years. As far as bikers and riders being«kicked» out of the area, I am not sure where you all have been visiting but dirt biking, snowmobiling and other recreational sports are also a big part of our economy and we welcome those who choose to ride here, Suncadia may have taken up some land but there is plenty left and they have helped our economy and un-employment rate immensely. Without them, there wouldn’t be any town left to come visit. In addition, the gentleman that bought the Old#3 and rebuilt it is a biker himself and welcomes all brand of bikers at his bar. I have seen it and if you take a drive through Cle Elum, Roslyn and then Ronald on a summer day, you will see a large number of bikes parked everywhere along the sides of the road. I hope the some obviously crass and bitter reviewers will not scare anyone away from visiting our area or the Old #3. It is a fun and lively place full of friendly and welcoming people who love to chat and share stories. The food and drink are awesome and you will not regret your visit.

Once upon a time, before Cle Elum, Ronald and Roslyn got all high on their«Northern Exposure» horses and kicked all the off road motorcycle people out of the area in the early/mid-nineties and built a stupid golf course over where we used to ride — the Old Number 3 was THE place to be. We would ride our bikes 20 – 30 miles along trails and drop in on Ronald. We would come in covered head to foot in mud/dust/snow. Walk in with our motorcycle boots on and set our helmets on the tables. Great big burgers and cold beer(for my dad, I was like 14 back then). After our meal we would ride over to the #3 coal pile and ride around before heading back to camp over by #9 or Bullfrog flats. It used to be a crazy mix of Harley Guys and Off-Road riders… which was pretty funny back then because the Harley Guys were all gruff and surley and the rest of us were sporting our super awesome bright florescent racing jerseys and pants… which was the style at the time. There were always a dozen or so Harleys and dirt bikes parked outside the bar. Inside there used to be hundreds of hats stapled or nailed all over the ceiling and walls. Going to the Old Number 3 is one of my fondest memories growing-up. AND the first bar I frequented as a young teenager. Apparently, after reading the other posts, the original burned down. I guess I’m not surprised, but it’s still too bad because it was pretty cool. I haven’t been there for over 15 years… so, it may very well suck now. But I give it four stars for the place it holds in my heart.(Awww…) But Cle Elum, Roslyn and Ronald can still suck it for kicking all the riders out of the area. Yeah, it’s been almost 20 years, but I am still pissed off. Northern Exposure couldn’t last forever, jerks!

In the middle of nowhere? –check Did I see this place in that bad show Northern Exposure? –yes Full of rednecks? — check Does the place have character and render a uniqueness that defies categorization? –yes Is the cuisine suitable with a moderate selection, in that heart wrenching grease spoon sense? — definitely If I happen to be going from here to there, find myself in the middle of nowhere, and spot the town of Roslyn/Ronald — should I roll in here for a brew, some grub, and some attitude? — absolutely

Just outside of Roslyn, WA there’s a speck of a town called Ronald that I would have never even known about had I not just spent the weekend in a log cabin with a theatre company. Maybe I should blame television for this, but I believe that«Small-Town America» is almost synonymous with good breakfast and even if they fear the outside world they’re at least welcoming when a few of them are passing through town. Then there’s the Old #3– a bar/restaurant and probably the social hub for the people of Ronald, and *only* Ronald based on the we-don’t-take-kindly-ta-city-folk looks that were shot at us. The first thing I noticed over the blare of televised football, was hundreds of one dollar bills on the walls, all defaced with peoples names, some dated recently. I thought that it might be a nice sentiment to add one with our theater company’s name to the mix. When the waitress came by I asked about them. She grudgingly replied that they came from the old #3 before it burned down. «So the old Old #3 burned down?» «Yep» And that was all I got. No «would you like to add a dollar to our wall?» or even«I’m sorry but we stopped doing that to commemorate those lost in the fire». That was pretty emblematic of the service. The food was okay– just kind of bland and there. The chicken-fried steak was a little tough and the«sausage» gravy a bit watery and made with bacon. Also, apparently«scrambled» and«over-easy» both mean over-easy. This was a table-wide epidemic, not just one or two orders. Out of 8 people, I was the only one to get the correct eggs, but then I was the only one to order them over-easy. The Old #3 made me feel like we were intruding. Yes, there were 8 of us, but they weren’t busy, we weren’t loud or obnoxious, we didn’t make fun of or look down on the place, we looked relatively normal, we didn’t make any unreasonable demands, and we weren’t welcome. I did finally ask if I could add to the wall of money and the waitress plopped a plastic container of markers and a stapler in front of me for an answer. I wrote the theatre company’s name and had each of the members sign it, grabbed a chair, and stapled it high on the wall near the entrance, but there’s a little piece of me that feels it was taken down shortly after we left.
