My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat. I got a grilled cheese, and no, not a kiddy size! The options seemed endless. What kind of bread? Rye. Oh what kind of rye? Cheese? Great, quality food!

This is probably my favorite bar in Roslyn. Friendly bartenders, ping pong table, great beer selection. I reserved the back room for my fiancés surprise birthday party, when I told them how much he loved to play ping pong they even put the ping pong table in the party area for us! It was also great that the room had flat screens to watch the football games on. Not to mention they had an awesome cover band playing Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin and other great classic rock songs. In the summer time they have an outside patio with green grass and shaded tables. Love this place

After a 12 hour hike, my friend and I were famished when we rolled into town at 9pm. All of the other restaurants/bars quit serving food at 9, so this was our only option without having to drive to Cle Elum. We both had the BBQ burger and fries. The burger came out in about 15 minutes and was pretty tasty. The fries were luke warm and not the greatest. I washed mine down with a Roslyn lager. The band ‘Jumpin Jack’ was just getting started as we left. The guitarist was doing all sorts of weird gyrations while playing, which added to the entertainment. The place was pretty packed with locals, as there is live music here every weekend. Not a bad way to finish off a long day of hiking.

Sad, this looked to be a nice restaurant/bar, we went at lunch on a Saturday since The Brick was full. To start, There was a problem with the keg for the beer I wanted as well. Ok We thought, but wished we had left then! The waitress took our order but we waited 45 minutes for our food and the fries were the bitter dregs. The waitress brought out fresh cooked ones but we were finished with our burger. The clam chowder was watery and had my husband in the bathroom 30 minutes later. Should have waited for a table at The Brick.

Break was disgusting. Took forever to come(not many people at the café) typical Sunday morning. English muffin was completely burnt. Pouched egg was popped. Hashbrowns were cold — saw our breakfast dying in the window under the heating lamp. I won’t be going back here nor recommend it to anyone that visits Roslyn. Oh yeah and I got sick shortly after… NOTHANKS!

This place is an absolute disaster. I’m literally writing this as myself and the 3 people I ate with are sitting on the toilet, a half hour after breakfast… Atmosphere: It’s a divey locals bar, with a side section it tries to pass off as a restaurant. As much as I love some 80s metal music, not typically at 10am on Sunday morning. Service: There was 1 bartender/server/hostess and 1 guy in the kitchen. We were instructed to seat ourselves. Not enough coffee ready to pour 2 cups, and the 7-up I ordered never came until she was tallying up the bill and realized she never brought it. Food: Disgusting. 1st off, we shouldn’t have to wait 20+ minutes for breakfast when there is literally 1 table of 2 in the restaurant with us. Secondly, we watched our food sit in the window(maybe under a heat lamp) for at least 8 minutes as 1 final thing was done by the 1 cook. Thirdly, it came out cold, and now here we all are, on our thrones of lies, wishing we would have just gone to the Roslyn café across the street. If you know the owner of this place, let him know if they want to successful, stop trying to reinvent your interior, and focus on being less terrible.

Waitress was great! Food was blah and it took forever to get our order. Even with us being the only ones there. Won’t be back unless it is to have a drink.

Absolutely the Best Taco Tuesday! Beef, chicken, pork or fish on a soft tortilla– each just $ 1! Excellent quality. Great service from Colette and John. Separate checks to large groups gladly given.

Went here for drinks with some buddies. They pulled out the ping pong table for us and we got in some horseshoes. Rough local clientele added to the atmosphere. Super fun bar. Not for the Suncadia crowd.

Great Breakfast Got a warm«Welcome to the Pastime» as soon as we walked thru the door. Coffee was very good. Country Fired Steak with sausage gravy, eggs and sourdough toast made for a good sized breakfast and I added a side of bacon. All good. They also have a fenced in beer garden outside that looked like it could be a good place to hang when the weather warms a bit more.

Horrible on all fronts. So happy to have such a cool little town just down the road from our new home. We had just been enjoying a lovely day at the market and needed to break for lunch. First thoughts(as we are new in town and Northern Exposure fans) were The Brick and the Roslyn Café — both super crowded — so we chose the next interesting-looking place down the street. Quickly checked out some reviews here on Unilocal and decided to give it a go. Saw that the burgers were recommended so we ordered a salad for my husband and burgers for my son and myself. The server was rude right from the drink order. Then when I asked for a temp. of medium-rare on the burgers she looked at me as though I was nuts and responded«what?!» «well, I can let the cook know but I wouldn’t count on it. They don’t like to serve under-cooked food here.» …uh, what? seriously? This was her exact response. The burgers were, unsurprisingly, just defrosted pre-made patties. Unremarkable to say the least. The FRIES: wow, I know that a lot of places just don’t «get» fries(from what I hear it takes two times in the oil: once to cook and then at a higher temp to crisp ‘em up, although, I am sure there are other methods of cooking great fries). But, these — wow, not just soggy and greasy but, just for fun, not even cooked. Sent them back and ended up with the same soggy, greasy mess but this time nearly burnt — incredible? How, within the laws of physics, is this even possible?!! Thought that this was the end of the problem. We payed the bill, left a moderate tip, vowed to never return. BUT, NO. While checking my bank account this evening I noticed that they charged me not only for MY overpriced horrible food but for someone else’s(more expensive) as well! I called them immediately to get the situation resolved and was told that they would check into it and get right back to me — about two hours ago… guess I’ll have to return to take care of this in person myself tomorrow. My advice: STAYAWAY! There’s a For-Sale sign on the door. Thank goodness, the sooner the better! Ok, the IPA on tap was great.

Absolutely the best patty melt I’ve had. Good beers on tap. Perfect on a cold, rainy Northwest day.

Had the best breakfast! I had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were cooked perfectly! My friend has curried hash and loved it! The service was a little slow for a Saturday morning, but we still intend to go back again. We were in town staying at Suncadia Lodge so ventured out for local food.

Was told Roslyn Café wasn’t all that great… well, anyway it’s closed. Told to go to Pastime instead… good advice! Our party had fish sandwiches, burgers, omelettes and salads. All excellent, very fresh, perfectly prepared and you get your food quickly. Had the Cheesie Veggie omelette, now must go back for a burger and also for eggs benedict. My #1 pick for a place to eat in Roslyn, and a hop, skip and jump off the freeway… stop there next time you are on your way there, OR even if you’re not and going further. YUM!!!

I agree about their Eggs Benedict — I love them. A chef that can poach an egg to order(and theirs can) is an artist in my book.

Pastime has some of the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had! They also have awesome burgers, terrific sliders, and frozen pudding shots for $ 1. Try the pudding shots! They’ll rock your world. With good food, great drink, and a cool little karaōke machine featuring the worst voices in Roslyn, there’s no way you can have a bad time here.

We stopped by here on our way to Leavenworth when we realized that the Roslyn Café was closed. It’s just a small town bar/café/eatery. Nothing special but cute because we were in a cute area. There were two entrances — one led you into the«bar”/pool table area while the other led you into the dining area, though both sides of the establishment were easily accessible. The chalkboard sign on the wall tells you to «ask your friendly server about daily specials,» but I wasn’t convinced that our waitress was very friendly. She would be super excited when asking us if we were doing okay and if we were ready to order, but whenever we asked her for something, she sounded a bit annoyed. Then why ask? The boyfriend ordered a fish burger while I ordered the turkey club. The food came out almost right away. Both were pretty large portions and pretty standard in taste — nothing special but still enjoyable. I was a little interested to see that they came with a bag of Lays chips and substituting for fries was extra, but for $ 1, it wasn’t too bad. It looks like their burgers are their specialty though. I wish I would have ordered that instead, but it just wasn’t a burger moment for me. Overall, it’s not a bad place to stop and eat if you’re in the area.

We had lunch here twice last month while we were in Roslyn for Moosefest. At first I was a bit hesitant to try the place, as an article from years ago, when the Northern Exposure TV series was being filmed, portrayed the place as hostile to outsiders. Maybe that was true then, when it was mainly a bar. Now there is a separate family entrance. The super club sandwich was amazing! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, ham, turkey and cheddar — mmmm! The burgers that were coming out of the kitchen looked great, as well as being large. The service was a bit slow, but they apparently were unprepared for the crowd. No one had told them that about 100 of us were in town for Moosefest. Definitely merits a return visit!
