This is not a fancy fancy destination restaurant, but if you are staying at Wintergreen it is worth the splurge. The items on the menu with a red lined box around them are the tried-and-true dishes, and we stuck with them. My seafood with pasta in tomato cream sauce was exquisite, especially the scallops, and he loved the short ribs. Very good, friendly service and a nice setting. Wish we had room for that orange dream dessert!

There were 5 of us for dinner on a Friday night. Seated right away in a corner table. Lots off glare and no window shades so we huddled to one side of the table. Great Rosemary rolls delivered. Great wine and then… Salmon was commissary grade, my friends salad was not fresh and had a bad taste – do not eat an off tasting salad… and then, to punctuate a long wait and not great food. a black ant walked the edge of my white plate. I stayed calm, flicked it off… then noticed a few of his any friends on the ledge. I told the waitress and she smiled and said she was sorry. That is all. Reminiscent of a past era… left behind.

I went to The Copper Mine Bistro for dinner on a Friday night while at Wintergreen. We made reservations just to be safe. A hostess seated us immediately. Our server put warm bread on the table while we waited for our food to come out. I ordered short ribs with double truffle mashed potatoes. The short ribs and mashed potatoes were delicious. My short ribs were tender and very flavorful. The truffle gave CMB mashed potatoes good flavor. Customers can switch out different sides with meals. Orange dream cheesecake caught my attention for dessert. It’s served with chocolate sauce. I enjoyed every bite of Copper Mines cheesecake. Our servicer was very attentive and polite. The Copper Mines has a nice ambience(romantic) with a view of Wintergreen ski slopes. There isn’t a cocktail menu but CMB wine list has some good selections. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at The Copper Mines Bristo.

Slow, inefficient, worst dining experience ever. Get the buffet unless you want a 20 – 30 min wait between everything. Maybe theyre better on weekdays. Sat in Feb though, not so much.

I was only at the bar briefly for NYE. The drinks were good and the service was excellent. The food looked great, and the NYE menu looked pretty inviting. Prices are probably middle-upper levels for the resort. They have a brunch, but it ends at 11AM.

Loved the breakfast buffet last weekend. Perfect for a quick meal before hitting the slopes. It’s about $ 15 w tax included per person and it comes w coffee and orange juice. There are eggs, bacon, sausage, either pancakes or French toast, biscuits/gravy, fruit, cereal, pastries, and a misc breakfast scramble. Great service.

Good service. The food was excellent. My wife had the crab crusted grouper and I had the rib eye. Both were cooked perfectly. Definitely worth a stop in if you are staying at Wintergreen.

Pretty basic stuff. Went to buffet for bfast. Nice selection of foods… quiche, eggs several ways, sausage, bacon, pancakes, fruit, yogurt. Not bad all around. Service was friendly but a bit slow on the morning we visited. Serves lunch and dinner also.

Tale of the soup… WAY overpriced cafeteria quality food with less than mediocre service. We were a party of 7. Four people ordered the French Onion Soup(which was«ok»), but only 3 soups came out with helpers or servers other than our waiter. We told them we were short a soup. The waiter came by and he was advised by us of the same. 10 minutes later, the food started being handed out by again, folks other than our waiter — and there I still sat without my soup. We waiter showed up with my soup as my meal was being handed to me and I asked them to take the meal back as I wanted the soup BEFORE the meal. They accommodated. So I finished my soup and had to wait for the server(who was relatively inattentive), asked for the meal and when it came back, I guess they had it in the fridge because it was cold… c’mon! So they made me a new one, it came, everyone else in the group was done, there I sat starting to eat my meal(50 minutes after we had arrived). Ok, ask if a manager came by or if the server offered to do anything for us or even an apology… go ahead. ask… «No». Nothing. So he got a 10% tip(which was about 11% too much) from me and here I am letting my fellow Unilocalers know. Bottom line, if you need a meal, use the quick service café or cafeteria, save $$, aggrivation and time!
