Quaint little bakery with desserts, simple panini and soups. The portobello«panino» was crispy and had great simple flavors. The size is perfect for a smaller appetite. They are also not over stuffed, so can enjoy the bread without worrying about the stuffing oozing out. Lentil soup is great too. The soup was not heavy or thick. Goes great with a light lunch. Seating area upstairs is quiet and perfect for a «girl’s» lunch date. Probably nice for tea time too.

Love the bakery! Amazing brownies with cream cheese– and great platters for a quick gift on a Holiday. Not a fan of the restaurant– but make a special trip to the bakery every chance I get.

I think Grumpy Cats work here… Here is the food experience review: Tarts and cheese cakes are awesome. Probably the best on Long Island(My opinion). They are not sweet like some of the others and always fresh. The selection is not huge and it doesn’t need to be. What about pies you say? Love them and they are also wonderfully delicious. Now the Spacial Experience: Seems odd for a café like this to have self serving coffee with glass carafes at a side table that is more fitting to reside at a road side gas station than a boutique like café. A stair separates the space with dessert counter on the right by the entrance and offers of sandwiches, salads, etc on the left. Both areas have a cash register. Makes ordering at both areas hard especially when there are a lot of people. Seating is limited inside but there is a small outdoor patio next to a parking lot. Now for the observation experience: The people working behind the counters are emotionless and doesn’t look like they want to be there. Hence«Grumpy cats». I saw a woman ordered an ice green tea and the staff slightly… just slightly rolled her eyes and took a deep breath before filling up the cup. Maybe she had something in her eyes? I don’t know. Second thing I witnessed was the guy behind the counter heating up Mac and cheese for a customer in a microwave. To test if it was hot when he took it out, he put his finger into the Mac and cheese. He stuck his finger in there!!! Finger in the cheese! I kid you not. If you decide to order the Mac and cheese after this read please tell them no fingering the food. It’s not nice… especially in public. Final Statement: To get the goods you must endure pain and suffering. Is it worth it? Some say no way or they don’t tolerate attitudes or actions like this but I say why not? You can’t go through life with the Disney effect on a daily basis. So if they want to be grumpy by all means as long as it makes them crank out those yummy pastries. I know the Raspberry Cheesecake makes me very happy but no Mac and cheese for me. To quote the infamous Soup Nazi. «NOSOUPFORYOU»!

Food is very good however I have had 2 very poor experiences with service recently. I called to let them know about what happened. The person I spoke with indicated the manager would call back the next day. That was 2 weeks ago.

My favorite bakery. I bring their pastries to work & always get compliments. I especially like the raspberry bar.

Diane’s Bakery Café is a cute café that can be enjoyed with a friend or a significant other, but the mission for Diane’s was to acquire pie for Pi Day. Each pie is $ 26, so not a cheap pie; however, if you compare to what you can get in the city, Diane’s Bakery is a good price! FOOD: I got apple pie and mixed berry pie. I would have to say, what I love about it is that the homemade taste of the pie crust and also the not too sweet filling are on spot with Diane’s pies. I always cringe when I eat a pie that’s too sweet, but not these ones. The apple pie had the nice soft apples with the right amount of runny sweet apple juice at the bottom. The mixed berry pie was also an explosion of flavor of sweet berries and wrapped around in a nice flaky crust. Got it to go and consumed the following day. Definitely delicious and a crowd pleaser in the office!

Great food in a quaint, rustic atmosphere. Terrific desserts. Better if you’ve got some time– not great for a fast food experience. Service can be a little prickly, but I always assume they get a ton of attitude from the regulars, so that explains that. It’s good. Better than OK. Not amazing in my opinion. But I do make sure we get their cookies every holiday. Wouldn’t be the same without ‘em!

Just a quiet place for a nice lunch with the girls ! Very limited choices, but very fresh and tasty food. Definitely very reasonable priced and if you want to pack on the pounds, pick up some bakery goods on your way out !!!

We stopped in here to order a cake for my aunts birthday dinner. It was really delicious. Moist and tasty and the whipped crème frosting was chocolate flavored. I never had this before and everyone loved it. The cake was the hit of the party.

This is not just a review of Diane’s Desserts but also Diane’s Bakery Café. Everything is superb there. The Café offers food by the pound so it can add up but totally worth it. We loved the salmon, corn salad, and Brussels sprouts. Now for the sweets, the chocolate mousse is simply amazing! So Delicious! The only drawback is the lack of seating.

I have heard a lot about this place. Was super excited to finally eat lunch here. I was shocked that all food was put on paper plates and paper cups. I spent $ 16 on lunch for one. I just would prefer to have the food on real plates.

Diane’s is definitely an estrogen magnet. lol. Not necessarily something negative, but lunch time in Port Washington seems to attract a very LARGE amount of middle aged women that seem to meet for lunch and gossip the afternoon away. On to the food – I’ve been here once, and have yet to try anything else. I got the chicken pot pie — $ 9.50 and a brownie. The pot pie crust was the best part, otherwise I feel the pie was lacking flavor, very little chicken, it was satisfying to a degree, however I won’t go looking for this next visit. Brownie was pretty damn good, not an overly fudgey saturated brownie(I hate brownies like that), but it was just enough richness and«cakeness» to satisfy my brownie requirements. Will definitely return to try out some other stuff.

Service fantastic oh waitress was the best and very sweet. Place is nicely kept. My chicken cutlet was crunchy like styrofoam and tough to cut and chew. My wife salmon tasted freezer burned. I would return to try something else but if you can’t get the cutlet right that makes me nervous.

Came here for brunch twice. The food is delicious, but a little pricey. There is a great selection of pastries at the bakery! The pastries are not too sweet — just the right amount of sweetness! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and will be back again!

Came here to study. Relatively good food and bitter coffee to go with. I don’t know about other people but I like my coffee bitter with sweet baked goods. Granted, baked goods are never good as what you would get at Korean bakery like Paris Baguette but hey I’m Korean and very biased probably.

The desserts are delicious. One of my favorites is their lemon bar and the banana cream pie. Their cookies make nice gifts as do their breads. I love their strawberry lemonade in the summer and the iced hazelnut coffee all year long.

You must try desserts when you come here! The lunch food is very good, but the baked goods and sweets are exquisite. Delicious: cookies, brownies, cupcakes, banana cream pie! They all taste as good as they look. How often can you say that about baked goods? The layout of the establishment is nice: bakery in front, seating upstairs and down a step into the back. It is worth a trip from anywhere to sample these delicious treats. Also a nice place to meet a friend or share a first date.

We had lunch here in addition to picking up some cookies for later. The cookies were the most outstanding part of the experience — we got different kinds of cookies with a butter cookie base, and they were all good. My favorites were the ones with nuts. For lunch we split a panini(panino?). It was more standard but not bad — melty mozzarella with olives & some greens. We happened to go during the week and late in the day, and the seating area was kind of odd — it took a long time for our food to come and employees kept walking in & out of the restaurant, but this may have just been due to the odd time we were there.

Came in for dessert seeing as this was the only dessert place I could find in the area through Unilocal.I got the chocolate cheesecake and an iced mocha cappuccino. My girlfriend got the vanilla coconut cupcake and an iced coffee. The drinks were fairly good with the exception of a little too much mocha flavor in the cappuccino. Probably should’ve stuck with a regular. The vanilla coconut cupcake was alright. The cake itself could of been much softer and a lot more moist but unfortunately it was not. As for the chocolate cheesecake, DONOT get it. I was so excited to have it and say down, stuck my fork in it and already before taking a bite knew something was wrong. Cheesecake is supposed to be creamy and melt in my mouth. This did everything but. It was hard as if it had been sitting there for a couple of days. I didn’t eat it. I complained about it and they did give me a refund for it which should be expected. But it’s very safe to say, Diane’s will never be seeing this face again.

Ah, Diane’s Desserts. One of my favorite bakeries of Long Island. Roslyn has the cutest little village with various types of shops/restaurants. This little gem truly brightens up the town. When I first visited this bakery, I fell in love. It’s… rustic, quaint, classy, timeless, etc. They have those older, traditional looking shelves made out of wood and glass. I have always dreamed of owning my own shop, and if so I would want to model it after this place. They have an assortment of pastries and let me tell you… They not only LOOK good but TASTEGOOD. I heard they were very well known for their pies. So of course I had to get the apple crumble(my favorite). I also bought a blueberry pie for a family get together, and they LOVED it! Nothing but positive reviews. Diane’s also has a small section to sit down and eat your pastries. So after a long day of walking or shopping around the village this is the perfect place to stop by and have a sweet treat. I highly recommend visiting this adorable place!
