Awesome place! Great service and food. Loved their selection of cocktails :) I Would recommend this place as one of my favorite bars in Roswell.

Not all Marlow’s Taverns are created equal. I have always eaten at the one close to my office in Midtown and the service and food has always been very good. I decided to have dinner at the one close to my home. The service was slow and unresponsive and the same meal(Marlow’s Melt) I have had dozens of times at the Midtown location did not look or taste anywhere close to the same. I spent a money on something that is prepared better at Steak and Shake. Very disappointing.

Read many reviews on this restaurant and felt it was going to be OK for an afternoon drink as opposed to food. I was wrong, terrible service and a staff that acts like they would rather be anywhere else but there! Not going back.

I had a terrible experience here. I’ve been to multiple Marlows before and this one is by far the worst. I came in asking for a booth with a friend and after waiting for 10 minutes we were told that they were dirty so we got a tiny little 2 seat booth that was connected to a 4 seat table. We then told them we could wait to go to a different booth because this one was uncomfortable and as the woman cleaned the table she went and told the manager and he then seated another family there… Why wait 20 minutes to be a seated at a booth when we could walk next door to tmac? Don’t go here. They aren’t organized at all.

I have been a fan of Marlow’s Tavern for a while and used to visit their Johnson’s Ferry and Kennesaw locations frequently. I have had a few issues with service there, but always loved their menu and ambience. I was glad to see another one open a little closer to me in Roswell and recently had dinner at this location. I came on a Friday night around 8:00 and it was fairly crowded but luckily I was able to find a seat at the outside bar. The layout of the restaurant is similar to other Marlow’s, with a bar that has one side on the outside and one on the inside, with outside seating on a patio in addition to the dining and bar area on the inside. One thing I want to comment on is the seat at the bar. It was a real comfortable seat. I think that shows some attention to detail. At a lot of bars I struggle a little with the hard bar stools. The bartenders were a little busy but they were able to take pretty good care of me, and I didn’t have to wait long for service. The draft beer choices are similar to what I’ve seen at other locations, with a few of the standard options and then some rotating craft beers. It’s not very extensive, but the quality of the rotating craft beers is good. I had a very nice IPA which was from a brewery whose name I forget. I ordered their hummus appetizer plate, which was really good, with a lot of soft pita bread that was still warm out of the oven and some carrots and celery. I liked having a little more healthy option on the menu as an appetizer. For dinner I had their black bean burger, which was excellent. It was big and filling and you could tell it was made in house. It didn’t have the taste or consistency of a commercially prepared frozen patty. Their«tavern» fries that came with it were also really good. I could tell that they were prepared from fresh potatoes rather than frozen. As a little extra, I loved the pickle because it wasn’t heavily brined like most pickles but almost tasted just like a fresh cucumber. It’s the attention to a few little details like that that make this place stand out. All in all, I had a satisfying evening here and am glad I have a Marlow’s now closer to me. I’ll be glad when their new location on Sandy Plains and Shallowford opens in 2016.

A couple of months ago, my girlfriend and I went to Outback for dinner. After dinner we walked around the shopping center and noticed a Marlows Tavern was being built there. As I’ve been to the one in Cumming many times before, and enjoyed the experience, I told her we should go when they open. A couple of weeks ago I checked to see if they were open and read the reviews on Unilocal.Despite the typical negative reviews for a new restaurant(service was slow, waiting for a table, etc.), we went there for dinner. The parking lot was packed, but we were lucky to get a decent spot. Despite the restaurant being crowded, we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the food was tasty and served promptly. We found out there was a Roswell High School football playoff taking place next door which explained the crowed parking lot and restaurant. They had the game on most of the TVs, which we enjoyed. For dessert we ordered the Crème Brûlée. It took a few minutes, and they apologized for the wait. When it was delivered to our table, we were told that, because of the delay, the manager was going to take it off our bill. Frankly, we didn’t think it was that long of a wait. Anyway, we will definitely be back.

Since we had eaten several times at a couple other Marlowe’s we decided to give the one on Crossville Road in Roswell a try. Bad decision. We got there around 7 o’clock and granted, the place was busy but it started to empty out fairly soon after our arrival. I ordered the chicken stax and my wife ordered the crab cake. We sat at the bar and 20 minutes after ordering a party of three sat at the bar to our right. Another 15 or 20 minutes passed and the party to the right started to get their dishes. After a total of about an hour of waiting, we asked the inattentive bartender to check on our food order. He came back and told us that the chicken stax was holding things up. How peculiar is that? During our total wait time which was over an hour we hadn’t gotten any fresh drinks although once our food was delivered we were brought a couple. The food itself was good and we would both order the same dishes again only not at this Marlow’s. This occurred on a Tuesday night, and having been open for 6 weeks this should have been a far better experience. I noticed some of the other reviewers have experienced similar problems so this may be a place to be avoided till they get their act together.

OK, been there multiple times now. In the first week or two, they had some growing pains with service, food, etc. They have it down, now. The service has been quick and friendly and the food BLOWSAWAY Tmac. Love the shrimp and grits. Glad they’re in Roswell!

Check your«to go» order before leaving the restaurant, And watch for falling glasses. Service is inconsistent and clumsy. They havent been open very long, so hopefully they’ll improve. Will be a great addition to the neighborhood.

As I sat down the bartender introduced himself by his first and last name, asked for my name and stuck out his hand. A little weird but OK, whatever. A minute later he came back and put a little paper tent in front of me with his name and last initial written on it. WTF? Are we speed dating or serving drinks? Too weird. I had one drink and left.

My first Marlow’s experience and i’m a believer! Had heard great things about this place from several friends and they really delivered! The food was outstanding and we were blown away by the service as well. Our server was great, really seemed to know his stuff, and we didn’t experience any of the issues that I read about in the other reviews.

I never really write reviews. This place really earned one. I’m only writing to save you the time, money, frustration and potential disgust. There was one single solitary redeeming moment to my recent experience at Marlows. It comes at the end. We are a party of 5 out for a very casual dinner on a weekday night, trying out the new neighborhood spot. Arrived at 7:20, seated at 8. Several larger booths and tables sat empty the entire time that my party and several smaller parties stood at the door waited on a table. The host seemed very frazzled, running around with his clipboard doing god-knows-what. Didn’t actually look that busy, but you’d not know that by the look of the host. We’re seated and our waitress is sweet, informative and prompt. We order drinks and food by 8:15. Two side salads, two appetizers, one dinner salad, and two entrees(tacos and a wrap). Our food comes an hour+ later. Our waitress was courteous but the problem was obviously on the kitchen. During this time I traveled to the restroom. Disgusting!!! Piss and Tp all over the floor of the single stall restroom. Either one wild child or 5 days of patrons had gotten a handle on the place and it looked like staff had thrown in the towel. I also noticed on the walk back to our table: all the floors(inside and out) feel like they’ve been greased with butter. Food finally comes after the second round of drinks. All salads are wilted and a bit slimy(they were probably made 10 minutes after we ordered and sat under a lamp for the remaining hour). Steak on the dinner salad was ice cold and rather bland. Wrap and tacos were about Par for what you’d expect from American-style Pub food… Which is okay since its what we were there for. I’ll note: the Flatbread app wasn’t noteworthy. Good fries. Thank you for not fudging the fries. The frazzled host, who may also have been the manager, comes over to apologize for the wait time on our food(we didn’t say anything about it to the waitress– she was really great) and in doing so awkwardly gropes and slyly caresses the shoulders of two of the women in the group. Red Flags! Waitress returns and offers desert on the house. And here is the redeemer to the hole experience: the Chocolate Molten Cake w/bourbon pecan topping and vanilla ice cream might have been worth the horrible slimy salads. delicious! Didn’t make up for the wait, nasty establishment, or creepy groping host though. Two stars. MARLOWS: Get your kitchen in order and find a new manager/host!

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in Roswell. We arrived at 12:45 on Sunday, ordered at 1:00, and received a partial amount of our food at 1:57. When the food arrived they forgot to place one of our burgers, the burger they brought was the wrong burger, and the kids Mac & Cheese was so salty it was uneatable. At 2:15 we had still not received our food and when I… yes I had to search out the manager… he said he was trying his best. Not sorry or anything… and I quote«this is only our 9th day???» After receiving no edible food we asked to leave and we were asked to pay for our cokes and one drink… really! Never saw or heard from a manager again. Please do not force your kids to eat the food as we told ours. When we tried it we had to apologize to our children. STAYAWAY! Hopefully the next restaurant there will be better.
