This place is simply amazing. Always great food with fresh ingredients. Been here probably 50 times over the last 3 years and never had a bad meal there. The staff is also really great and super helpful, they really get to know their regular customers. Just go, you won’t regret it.

Absolutely love this place. Very friendly staff and the food is always good. A little patience pays off since they are busy but the wait is always worth it.

Simply put, Café Java executes traditional breakfast fare just about perfectly. Every element is maximized. The toast, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, coffee, service. It’s nothing fancy. It’s just perfect. If you like breakfast, you love Café Java.

This local café has been a family favorite for years. The vibe is casual and they make great coffee but I especially love the sandwiches. The avocado grilled cheese is delicious! They serve breakfast all day too which is great when you are craving migas for dinner.

Love the Migas! The only downside is the waiting process sucks. They have one crowded entrance way, nowhere comfortable to wait, etc. They really should re-think the flow of the restaurant.

Decent and cheap. It was pretty loud inside though, its a small space. Everything was fast, fresh and tasty though nothing was truly standout. Coffee was good. They didn’t have a lot of options for the side items on the breakfast meals, but that was the only real disappointment. It would be nice to have a place like this in Cedar Park.

My husband and I were very excited when we found this is near our house. We used to go to the location on Metric when we lived in that area. This location I think is even better, it’s has more light and a better seating setup. Breakfast is served all day, that is what we go for! The food is good, we love the hash browns. They also have a couple different brands of Hot Sauce’s which is a plus, I do love my Tabasco sauce. I tried one of their Frozen Javacino things and though it tasted great, they aren’t amazing at crushing that ice well. There was a lot of bug chunks. I can’t speak on any other coffee of theirs. We will definitely be returning!

Traveling & saw great Unilocal reviews. Coffee was amazing, but the food was not as good as we thought it could have been. Get coffee to go travelers, food isn’t worth the long wait. Stars based on the good coffee. Also one restroom for ladies is not sufficient for a large, busy restaurant.

I had the ultimate migas without the refried beans and a coffee. It was a nice meal. Both the coffee and the migas were not bad, but not outstanding either. The service was just okay, as the waiter didn’t refill our waters, despite our cups being obviously empty. Overall experience: it was just okay…

My husband and I visited Austin for a week, just on a whim. We navigated food in typical 2016 fashion — we Unilocaled. Café Java is a bit outside of Austin — about a 25 minute drive North — but the reviews were very good and we wanted to check out Round Rock anyway, so we headed north. The diner is in a small shopping complex just east of I-35. The wait can be long, but the staff is so accommodating and the food felt worth the wait. We were told 45 minutes, and were seated in about 30. It’s difficult to write a review for this place because it’s not spectacular, 4-star food or ambiance, nothing really stood out(except service). Here’s why we visited twice, though, during our 1 week stay in Austin: for $ 15(that includes tip) for two people, we got excellent service, never empty coffee, tasty, hot, quick food, smiles, clean bathrooms, and they’ll even bring you a coffee to go before you head out. It’s a lovely, dependable spot and we will visit again. Highly recommend.

Care Java is a cool little café that was pretty busy. We signed in and were seated maybe 5 minutes later. They are quick with table turnover. The staff seems very friendly. We ordered the cheeseburger omelet and the split decision. We got our food really fast, we were surprised. The cheeseburger omelet was really good, it had great flavor. The ration of queso to hamburger meat were a little off. There was a lot of hamburger meat and not quite enough queso so it made it a little dry. It was a good size and filled my husband up. We also agreed with the price of it. The spilt decision is a lot of food. It came with one slice of French toast and a pancake. The pancake was a big pancake but it wasn’t my favorite. I think it needed to be cooked in the middle a little more. I really liked the French toast though. The hash browns were tasty and the eggs were good. At the end we felt a little bit of a need to hurry so they could clean the table. Maybe just because of the busy atmosphere. Overall a nice little café and good food.

I came for breakfast while here on business for a week. I was suffering through the edible but not palatable«free» breakfast at my hotel and found this nearby They had a wonderful corned beef hash omelette that wasn’t hash from a can but the real and awesome stuff. I wish I’d found this place before my last day there and hope I can be back soon so I can eat there again

Finally found a great breakfast place nearby my home! After first discovering this place on Unilocal,I swung by a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was so busy at the time(Saturday around 11am) and I didn’t have it in me to wait 30+ minutes: my stomach was demanding a sacrifice! However, I am so happy I came back because I was so impressed with the quality of their food and beverages. For beverages, we ordered a cappuccino and a chai latte. They were both so good I honestly would come here simply for the drinks. When a place gets packed, you know it’s for good reason, so I wasn’t about to not try their food. My partner ordered a bowl of grits to start. Let me just say that I have never been a grits person. I tend to find them to be bland and would rather order oatmeal if I am going to go down that route. However, this is probably the first time I have tried grits and actually liked them, which says a lot. They are buttery and tasty! He only ordered one bowl, but they made a mistake and brought out a second bowl which they gave to us free of charge. Grits for days! I ordered the ribeye which came with toast, two eggs, and hash browns. The steak was delicious, cooked perfectly(medium rare because cooking it any more is not worth it!), and was a great size for the price. My partner ordered the Phillip’s Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger Omelet. He ate it so fast by the time I asked to try it, it was already gone. While I cannot tell you from firsthand experience if it tasted good, I can let you know it looked amazing and he loved it. I will definitely be trying that one of these days! So happy to have found a delicious breakfast place that is not a massive chain like a Denny’s or IHOP! Very happy with this place! Great prices, food, and service!

Breakfast for lunch or dinner is one of my things. I’ll occasionally have breakfast for breakfast. Café Java is one of my favorite places to address my breakfast need. I’m fortunate that it is close to work so I get to frequent the place. The food is consistently good. I stick to a few regular dishes myself but I frequently go with other folks who order a variety of things and consensus is the same… good, great, yummy. Really good coffee too. Not the bulk stuff many shops use. I don’t know what it is but it is a step above standard house coffee. Great staff. Really great staff. Always friendly and courteous and I’m almost always there when they are slammed. They’re busy and I have to wait some times but heck, it’s lunch time and I’m at Café Java. I expect to wait a little bit and it’s worth the wait.

We love café Java, this is the first time to this location and this one is awesome too! We love atmosphere and quick service. They can get very busy, we came at 11:30 am and had about a 30 minute wait but we can walk around outside or get a coffee while we wait. We love the homestyle food, great service and prices. You can’t even get the quality or quantity of food at any chain I know! I like the fact that you write your name on the wait list and go up to the counter to pay, very efficient! The iced coffees and French toast are the bomb! I love to get«the Java» and add French toast, no I am not carb loading for a marathon, it is just that good! Also I wouldn’t recommend going in a big group, 2 – 4 people are the fastest in and out at typical weekend rush.

Café Java gets it right. If you want a damn good solid breakfast, come here. Its not anything fancy or that fusion crap. The wife is the one working at this location as the hostess while the husband owner is at the Metric location as its host. They and their staff run their place like a well oiled machine while you at the same time never feel rushed. They make you feel at home and the price is super fair. Most of their breakfast plates are between 6.99−8.99. They usually will have their house coffee and a choice of the coffee of the day. My drink options when I eat here is either an Earl grey with milk and honey or their Whole lotta love latte(hazelnut, coffee, caramel, all the sweetness goods in a cup). As for breakfast I get their corn beef hash, and here is a tip for you, ADD cheddar cheese and pickled jalapenos to your hash browns. You will thank me, trust me. The boyfriend always gets their omelet so if that’s your jam, I recommend it, there hasn’t been an omelet that he doesn’t like and they are huge! Now I just gotta wait patiently again til October when they do pumpkin pancakes again :)

Breakfast on NYE at 930 am. Our first visit after we consulted Unilocal and found this sweet, friendly, delicious café. Husband had migas plate, I had Cajun omelet special, kid had french toast. We were all satisfied, happy and filled! Even though they were slammed, the staff was friendly and took the time to laugh and talk to people around us. Great place. We’ll be back.

The thing I like most is that they have good food no matter what kind of mood you are in. You can get syrupy pancakes, a healthy breakfast, great pie, whatever you want. I think the coffee is good but I’m not an expert. Fun place to eat breakfast or lunch.

How does this place get such great reviews and why did we have to wait 20 minutes for a table?!? Just a really disappointing meal. I got a café mocha and it was really lacking a good coffee/espresso taste… reminded me more of hot cocoa. For my meal I went with half of a grilled ham and swiss along with a cup of their soup of the day, chicken tortilla. The sandwich was soggy on one side and was a pretty paltry portion for the price. The soup? When I think tortilla soup I’m thinking tomatoes, some chiles, a nuanced broth screaming Mexican flavor, covered in some Monterey Jack or cheddar, maybe a little dollop of sour cream to add some creaminess. What I got was chicken noodle soup, without the noodles, with shredded American cheese on top. I choked down about a third of the cup and had to return it before I made myself nauseous. I got some hash browns instead. I thought I was in Texas?! If I imagined a bowl of chicken tortilla soup ordered in Great Britain, that’s what I was served in freaking Texas. No one else in my party was at all impressed by their meals. Greatly overrated on Unilocal, imo.

I’d eat here every day if I could get away with it. I’ve loved my experience every time I’ve come here. I often judge a breakfast café based off their version of eggs Benedict(my favorite meal.) I’ve at least ordered that meal alone 5 or 6 times. Even on days they don’t offer the traditional eggs Benny, they’ve offered me another version with queso, just to please me. Their portions are the right size, coffee is delicious. Their staff work so hard, always on the move. Food always comes out so fast! You can find me here often as a loyal customer!

Maybe it’s because I’d only had lame hotel food the last 4 mornings, but Café Java was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Service was friendly and fast. Corn beef hash, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, BLT and breakfast tacos. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Can’t speak for the java part of the place but come for the food and you won’t mind the 10 – 15 min wait. Super happy!

Awesome as always. Homey, good quality, feel good food. Never disappointed be it breakfast lunch or coffee. I mostly come for breakfast for the last several years. Always a treat and they rotate specials. Prices are reasonable for the portions. Try it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. Free WiFi means you can work here. Weekends are busy so expect a worthwhile wait.

This is not at all what I was expecting… really I thought it was going to be a wanna be coffee shop. I was so wrong! It was fantabulous coffee and so much more! I had two coffee drinks– 1) was the iced mocha, double shot– It was the perfect amount of mocha! Delicious ratio of milk and coffee and chocolate, even with the extra shot…(there’s like 5 people working the coffee machines back there apparently…) 2) I asked the server to surprise me, so she brought me a something something«totty» It reminded me of this coffee shop I used to go to in Houston named«Durks»(they closed for whatever reason) but they had a drink called the JUMPERCABLE, so you can imagine the amount of caffeine and such. Well this drink had plenty of caffeine but this was so much tastier and easy to drink. Not too sweet and nice and cold. They have a lot of different choices for coffee! Board on the wall will tell you the featured brews of the week etc. NOW– about the food– They have a great menu, sandwiches, soups, salads… breakfast! Omelets, migas, pancakes. I ordered the 2X2X3… but being who I am I had to make alterations which they had no problem with. 2X2X3 is 2 sausages, 2 bacon and 3 eggs… with tomato slices,(carb cutter)…I asked for it to be placed on a bed of spinach and sprouts… with avocado slices on the side… they were all about it. And it came out perfectly… my eggs were sunny side up as I asked… Also! I asked for blueberries to be added to my one pancake and they said Yes, and made it full of blueberries no skimping. DELICIOUS Good place for family, friends, funky cool with Austin pics and art on the wall. Not something you’d really expect in Round Rock… Booths and a little bar top… good parking! I think I have a new Go-To place for breakfast and coffeeeeeeeee!!!

Love Café Java for breakfast and dinner. Food and service are always good, but the menu is a little basic when compared to other breakfast places like Kerbey Lane. There is nothing super fancy about this place, but they do everything very well and are always friendly. Biscuits, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls are great. I usually get the Hill Country which is 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns. My husband gets the migas and the refried beans are awesome! Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. A nice place to have your breakfast/brunch rotation. I think they do a great job of keeping Round Rock«mildly unusual.» Lots of parking and free wi-fi. They get busy on the weekends just like every other place. They’re very quiet during the week so it’s a good place to study or work, but bring a jacket because it can be a little chilly. On the weekends, it can be slightly confusing to put your name on the wait list. During peak times, the host may not be around because they are cleaning a table for the next guest.

They have vegetarian meals. That gives it an automatic 3 stars. Everything I’ve tried has tasted great. Another star. And even though they were incredibly busy, they were quick to find a table for me, and my friend a table. The only thing I didn’t care for was the iced mocha. I could not taste any chocolate. I need the coffee, but I don’t like the taste of it. I won’t order coffee from here again.

Yes, there’s oftentimes a wait. However, they turn tables quickly and offer you coffee and a smile as you anticipate your meal. No one else in town gets the proportion of filling to eggs as right as Café Java does when it comes to omelettes. My standard order is the egg white Ironman omelette, which comes with loads of fresh spinach, mushrooms, swiss cheese, and bacon crumbles. I substitute a side of small pancakes and fruit instead of hash browns and toast because the pancakes are light, fluffy medallions of deliciousness whereas the hash browns and toast are pretty standard diner fare. Plus, who’s with me that you’ve gotta have the balance of sweet and savory with your first meal of the day?

Hurricane Something-Rather was flooding our Formula 1 plans this morning, so we consulted the WWW for a good breakfast place, and up popped Café Java. We had a good sign when while waiting for our seat, a local said that he came to C-Java every week for the past 10 years. And this guy looked like he took his breakfast business seriously. We were seated in half the time quoted for the wait. Service was far better than average: attentive, informative, and patient. The entire menu looked outstanding, but the three specials really grabbed me. I opted for the Toffee Walnut French Toast special. It came out as titled, with fresh whipped cream(the REAL stuff), an over easy egg and some smoky bacon. The french toast was incredible, and not as rich as you’d think from the name. The bacon tasted like it just came off the grill from an all-night smoke. The coffee was a medium brew, smooth and bright in taste. Food = 5⁄5 Facility = 4⁄5 Service = 4⁄5 Ambiance = 4⁄5 Value = 5⁄5 Overall a 4.5, but since I have to give a whole star rating, I’m rounding up for this tidy joint — they get it right at Café Java!

Texan sausage patties… heavenly. My boss and I are at this joint enjoying Texas style breakfast. I substituted fruit bowl for toast. My share was 2 eggs, 2 patties, homestyle hash browns. The local orange juice was sumptous. My boss enjoyed his multigrain pancakes with butter and Griffin’s sugarfree syrup from OK. Highly recommend eating here. Place is for about 50 persons so prepare ro wait to be seated in about 10 minutes as people do want to enjoy the food and ambience longer.

I love this place. Their breakfast is my ideal breakfast. If you are health conscious or vegetarian they have options and will customize. I love their California omelet and if you ask them to cook it without so much oil, they really listen. Their hash browns are delicious, and not oily, and their multi-grain pancakes are so light and tasty. I am a pancake snob, and these really are some of the best I’ve eaten in a restaurant. Their coffee is delicious and piping hot. The oatmeal is old-fashioned oats with raisins and banana slices, and the combination is so nice. Service and management is great, as well. I like that it is a locally owned café. You do need to time your arrival, or there is a bit of a wait, a small price to pay for a breakfast worth going out for.

Why do people go so gaga over this place?! It’s not worth the wait at all!!! For some reason, my husband enjoys this place. When he can knock enough guilt into me and wear down my willpower, I cave and irresolutely let him drag me to Café Java. I’ve been to the one on Metric Blvd multiple times but this was my first visit to the Round Rock location. I assumed that like the other it was going to be a long wait at 11am on a Sunday. I was definitely right about that! For our group of 5 it took 45 minutes to get a table. Once we were seated, service was still slow. I wasn’t surprised by this given how crowded it was. When the food finally arrived I just felt I should hurry knowing how many other suckers were standing outside waiting to get our seats. None of the waiting or the slowness would have bothered me for an upscale restaurant serving a trendy 5-course brunch with mimosas… Except that Café Java is just a really nice casual diner. You show up in shorts, a T-shirt, and last night’s hair in a bun with your pack of kids and elderly family members. The food is cooked well, I absolutely give them that. The eggs aren’t dried out, the toast isn’t burnt, and the hash browns are fine. They make an ok chai tea latte; yummy, but I’ve had better. I got the Philly omelette and it came well stuffed with decent quality meat and a good enough amount of veggies. They do what they do pretty dang well, I suppose. Despite that, I really can’t give more than 3 stars because it’s really just standard diner fare! If 3.5 were an option, that’s about where I’d put it. It’s so overrated for such an average meal, albeit it an average meal cooked very well. It’s just not for me, not for the wait. If it were 10 minutes, then yeah, maybe I wouldn’t loathe going to Café Java as often on the weekends. I guess it just depends on how much time you have to waste idling and moseying around outdoors for very standard, average breakfast nosh. Maybe the real question is: how much is your time worth? How much do you value it in terms of an ordinary diner breakfast in a family-friendly environment?
