Very delicious fried chicken at a very reasonable price. They offer many options for sides, as well as biscuits and rolls. They also offer cookies and soft serve for desert. Tip: if you go on Sunday and show them your church bulletin, then they give you a discount.

We tentatively ordered two combo specials, three chicken tenders, a side… fried okra and corn nuggets, and a #10 washtub of a drink, for under 13 bucks. # stars all the way, good okra and nuggets, slightly chewy tenders but still good, and the price was right. They have little packets of Cajun spicy salty goodness that I liked, this was our first visit, if we’re nearby we’ll go again, is it the best chicken, no, but good…

If you don’t like chicken E, you’re a dummy. The tendys, so tender. The gravy, a perfect accent to the tendys. Don’t forget the biscuits and fried okra, it’s a whole gang! It is absolutely perfect for what it is.

I was there early this past summer and was very sorry. I ordered the gizzards and bit into one that was very hard. Then a tangy bitter taste came to my mouth that made me nauseous. I took it out of my mouth and it was a piece of «green» gizzard. Good thing the washroom was only a few feet away. Yes, I threw up I went to the counter when I came out and the girl said, «What would you want me to do?» I told her I want my money back and«no, I don’t want another gizzard dinner.» Haven’t been back since.

my 1st time… customer service was amazing(no complaints)…as for the food, well that’s another story, i’m sure it’s great freshly cooked… tenders, fries, fried okra were stale & pickle chips were soggy and very salty

Always fresh and hot. Corn nuggets are amazing. There are so many options for sides and get extra gravy. It’s really good and the catfish cornmeal coating is crispy and just the perfect amount. We have found the quality to be pretty consistent from Allen to here in Round Rock(just moved). Our Favorite fast food chicken place

I just went through the drive through, I ordered a 12 piece meal. Got home, they only gave me 8. I called and asked to speak to a manager. She asked for the info on the ticket, was totally rude, then she told me that since I couldn’t prove it, there was nothing she could do. I had to call the gm in the morning. I understand that mistakes get made but she was RUDE. RUDERUDE.

Awful! My family drove through at 8pm. We waited at the window for 10 minutes watching the staff stand around talking. When the manager walked up we figured we might a renewed sense of urgency but instead she joined in on the conversation! At the 10 minute mark, an employee came to the window with what we expected to be an apology or direction to pull over and park. Instead, she said«we’re out of biscuits». No apology for anything! We took our food when it was finally ready but I assure you we won’t be back.

Some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time. Always hot and tasty. I usually buy the 3 piece all white, they allow you to select the pieces you want, breast, wing, or all the same still same price. They are extremely fast at getting your order to you(I always go inside, I’m not a drive though type nor a lazy ass) and they are friendly and helpful. The batter on the chicken has such a good taste and texture, love the crispiness too. I recommend this company and this location. I have visited other locations and been very please but the Round Rock crew is hard to beat.

This review is only based off of the customer service. The food is actually ok. However, both my wife and I have noticed that the service is subpar. They can be rude and indifferent.

The chicken is surprisingly good! I pass by this place every day and never thought to stop cuz of the silly name and flying chicken logo. But my husband surprised me one night with take away from here for dinner and it was delicious! It only gets 4 stars today cuz the lady at the window dropped our change AND forgot to put napkins & plastic ware in our bag. It wasn’t that busy so maybe they weren’t awake yet.

Good crispy juicy chicken tenders. Also had biscuits mash potatoes and gravy. I have had their spicy wings also and they are very good! The tenders are big and fried to perfection. I can only put away about 4 with some mash and I am set! This is one of my favorite chicken spots. In my opinion its way better than churches or Bush’s chicken.

This is the second time I have ordered the seven tender combo dinner and got the four tender dinner. I know I need to be on a diet, but I don’t think it is their job to do it. Especially with my money. As far as the food, the chicken is O.K., not as good as KFC or Popeye’s. The only good things are the rolls. They are yummy. Not going back.

Stopped by Chicken Express yesterday on my way home and explained to the MANAGER that last time I was in I had paid 50 cents extra for a breast and got an extra thigh instead. Proceeded to place my order and asked again for an extra breast and not a leg. Was told that it would again cost me an extra 50 cents and that he did not know what happened last time. No apology, nothing, just excuses. I walked out with my kids and went to Whataburger instead. I will not be returning to this location again, even though it is close to home and I will tell everyone of my horrible experience. If I was the owner of this store I would think that I would train my employees much better in customer service. Terrible business to be willing to lose a $ 20 sale over a 50 cent mistake that THEY made the last time I spent $ 20.

Food good — chicken not too salty N crisp Breading is not thick It is not spicy — so love it. Best chicken we have found. May b bit pricy for what you get but totally worth it. Will go back again for sure.

We only live a short distance from this place. I decided to try it for the first time tonight. The Chicken is what I base the whole experience on and it was bad. Very dry, over cooked and tasted as if it had been sitting there for a while. The biscuits were also hard. Won’t be going back

The prices are really good. We get 20 tenders, two large sides and roles for 26 bucks. The tenders are really big and we always have leftovers. Our family gets the same sides every time, the corn nuggets and the fries. Half the nuggets are gone before we get home. Every time we’ve gone, they are out, which is not a bad thing, they have to make them hot, which takes ten minutes. It’s a good thing. The chicken itself is pretty good, although bland, great for the kids, not so much for me. Make sure to pick up plenty of the seasoning packets they offer plus Texas Pete hot sauce packets. Both free and plentiful. You have your choice between yeast roles and biscuits, yeast roles every time. They are hot and buttery and go great with the gravy and chicken. When I get home I make a tender sandwich with a role, two tenders, smothered in honey, seasoning packet, hot sauce and some fries washed down with the fantastic sweet tea. Oh baby, good times, I can polish off three of those easily. The only downside to Chicken Express is the blandness and sometimes greasiness of the chicken, the wait, and a small pet peeve, the size of the bag they give you. Four large square boxes just don’t work in a small plastic bag. It always tips over on the way home. I’ve asked for bigger, they don’t have it. Also, the chicken does not heat up well again… It releases all the oil and grease, making it very gross. I’ve re-heated Popeyes and never have this problem. Small things but they make a difference to me. All in all a great family value and we go at least once a month, but I think I need to figure out a way to get a Gus’s Chicken in Round Rock.

Prices are very reasonable compared to more popular places like KFC and Popeyes. I wonder if the people who come here are regular folks or people in the area who have always lived nearby. I got the Catfish Snack and it was suppose to come with Hushpuppies and a side however I don’t really care for Hushpuppies and the guy was nice enough to exchange it for a biscuit or roll. 1 Catfish Fillet + biscuit + mashed potato = $ 5 – 6(sorry forgot the exact amount) What brought me in was their banner that said Catfish Everyday. Most fastfood places sell tiapia and when they do sell Catfish its usually really small and pricey but this place wasn’t like that the Catfish was HUGE. If i bought the Catfish by itself I believe it would have been 2.34? … can’t remember Environment is kept very clean. The staff very friendly and very resourceful and knew the menu very well especially the combo family deals. I have not fallen in love with this place because my meal was too salty for me however I don’t think this place was to blame… When I came in I wasn’t feeling too well not sick but maybe going to if I don’t stop overworking myself and stuff and get some good rest. Everything just tasted like pure salt the fish, biscuit and mash potatoe even the white gravy O. O… well when your sick you tastebuds change … well what I do know for sure is the biscuit is nothing special. It is the ROLLS that regulars keep coming back that is what I noticed while sitting there eating everyone who came in all ordered rolls and seems very excited about that… I gotta try the ROLLS –___– it looked very yummy from afar if only my tastebuds aren’t being stupid … O. O I will come here again as soon as I am feeling better with an updated review ^^

I had Chicken on my mind today so I slipped over to Chicken Express on HW79 near the Dell Diamond. Round Rock Express, Chicken Express well could be! No OK! Another Chicken fast food place, I have never been so I ordered the daily special two pieces of chicken a biscuit and one side. I choose Mashed Potatoes as my side, the cost with an extra large drink was only $ 5.62 I choose dark meat. The crust was light and crispy and the chicken moist. It was good. The biscuit was a little dry but the mashed potatoes were just plain, yes the way I like mine. They have a drive thru and tables and booths for inside dining. The service was great today. Would I go back? Yes!
