Shipley Do-Nuts

I have to knock off a star for our last visit on Sunday, ⁵⁄₂₂ in the a.m. Here is a message to the smug young African American girl with the glasses at the window. Your less-​than-​pleasant demeanor and dismissive attitude were not becoming of the Shipley’s I know and love. I am quite sure that overconfidence, your failure to restate our choices to be sure you had it correct, and general lack of listening led to the error in our order.
Shipley managers… we love your donuts enough to overlook this negative experience as a «one off» incident. Please talk to this young lady, as it seems like she is new. In our gazillion visits to this location, it was the first time we have had her wait on us. I would focus on expectations about attentiveness to detail and personal presentation. Take care!

Let me start out by saying we love Shipley’s. We love their kolaches and their cake donuts (glazed blueberry… yummm!) and their chocolate whipped cream filled donuts. Today was our first time visiting this location and I was less than impressed. While the kolaches were warm, the donuts were very bland. One of the whipped cream filled donuts had no filling at all! The young man who was helping us was less than interested in helping us. He smashed all the donuts together in the box so half the icing was on the box (icing is the best part sometimes!) and all the donut tastes blended together (blueberry with maple-​bacon with chocolate… blech). It was just a very blah experience from what is normally an awesome place.

Not only do I thoroughly enjoy the donuts and kolaches at Shipley’s, I am more impressed with the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. Always greeted with a smile, and even a quick stop through the drive thru is enjoyable. Never a trouble to swing by to grab breakfast for the office early mornings.

This is an awesome place for some great donuts! The service is great and outstanding. The staff is very friendly. The facility as a whole is very clean and welcoming as you walk in. They have a lot of seating for a groups and families. There is a spot where you can sit and let your kids watch how they make the donuts. The prices are reasonable too in my opinion. It was just myself and two of my three children at the time. I only spent around $ 10.92 for two donuts a piece and some minutemaid juice drinks each. The look on my kids faces w a hilarious after they ate the blue and red frosting donuts. The cool thing about their donuts is they are not greasy like the rests of the places around the local area. The parking is good and the access to this place is easy.

The donuts and kolaches are outstanding. I love their apple fritters (they run out of these fast, so get there early!). The employees are friendly and the restaurant is clean.

Decent donuts, good selection, clean and comfortable, friendly staff… they even let me bring my small dog in while I kept him in the carrier. I know some places won’t even let you have pets in their outdoor area so I really appreciated they didn’t make a fuss.

I have never had a poor experience at this location! Smiles, and fun all around! It’s clean, quiet and smells like heaven!

5 stars for 5 star staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Definitely nice to visit a place with a positive attitude. They have a huge selection of donuts as well.

Gotta love Shipleys for your donute fix. Quick drive thru service and the staff is awsome. I am not here every weekend but when I need that sweet fix I go for the bear claw, apple fritter or the jumbo kolaches. The cake donutes and the coconut donutes are very tasty. They also have frozen and hot drinks. Stop by and say hi. Ask for a sample :-)

Why oh why didn’t I stop by sooner?! I cheated on RR donuts and it was worth it. But don’t worry, I can handle you both…

The donuts are great, of course, but the owner and staff are the reason we keep coming back. We love going because we feel welcomed and appreciated and because we get a serious craving for the Big Earl and the chocolate iced donuts.

Jalapeño kolaches are awesome! Actually all the kolachies are good. The donuts are ok. When I have my weekend work meetings and get breakfast/​donuts for the crew, I like to alternate between Round Rock Donuts, and Shipleys. The employees here are always friendly, and my order is always fresh!

I’m sitting here at not-​yet-​7 OClock trying to decide whether or not to clothe myself and go to Shipleys. This location is great because they are SO NICE and the donuts are always fresh. If you’ve gone to Shipleys for decades, like many Texans, then you know that how good they are can really depend on the location. Some places will hold onto them all day and night until they sell. But I’ve only ever had freshly made donuts and kolaches here.
So now, should I get up and go, or for crying out loud, have a Saturday morning sleep in? Hmmmm. Those donuts aren’t going to eat themselves!

My kids and I love this place (this location in particular). It’s our sunday tradition. Donut Hole Sunday! They love to watch them making and icing all the donuts through the huge plate glass windows. It’s always clean and the donuts are the best. Don’t pass on the sausage and cheese kolaches. No one makes them better and TRUSSST, I’ve tried them everywhere. The staff is also always so friendly and fast. I heart Shipleys mucho gusto.
Shoutout: I’m a bit of a Diet Coke connessuier (ah’hem) and this place has some of the best Diet Coke Fountain drinks (if you’re a true addict you are totally getting me right now). For you aforementioned fellow addicts, you’re welcome.

Clean pleasant place to it and enjoy your munchouts. Free wifi — oh yeah!

I love having a Shipley’s near by. My only wish is that their donuts were bigger.

I grew up outside of Houston and was raised on Shipley Do-​Nuts. It’s pretty much the only Do-​Nut place I knew until I went away to college. Eventually, I moved to Austin and found out that there were NO SHIPLEY DO-​NUTS locations here! WHAT?!?
After a few years one location opened in far S. Austin and I was happy! Sure it was about a 20min drive, but it was worth it every time. Then I moved to N. Austin and found a new location opening just about 10−15min away… even better! A few months ago, I moved to Round Rock and I’m only about 5min away from the nearest Shipley! My wife said that if this continues, the next time we move it will be into a little place above a Shipley… such a heavenly idea!
So anyway, go there… get whatever you thinks looks good. It will be delightful! I tend to get 2 white iced coconut and 1 plain glazed… add a kolache if I’m really hungry. Often one of the donuts gets left for a midday snack and is just fantastic then too.

My first visit will not be my last.
Sorry Central Donuts, there is a new Donut shop in town.
