Dr Emery & staff are very friendly & informative. They have a large selection of the latest styles of glasses. The beautifully decorated office is located next door to La Cocina on McNeil Rd. And you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the waiting room before your appointment.

Dr. Emery and her staff are great! They are so helpful and knowledgeable with the proper frames for your face shape, complementing your skin tones and proper lense selection. It was fun to have their honest input and assistance in selecting frames. Their office hours are convenient and appointments are available outside of normal working hours. I encourage you to schedule your next eye exam with them.

Best experience and great customer service! I feel like a movie star in my new Rx sunglasses and can see more clearly than I have with any other pair of glasses in the past 10 years! Simply fabulous.

This is by far the best experience I’ve had at a vision specialist. The décor is amazing and very comforting. The staff is A+! If you need your eyes checked or some new specs, this is the place!

This will be my new eye doctor. I came in for a special promotion, like many other reviewers, and I will come back because they treated me so well and made me feel comfortable.
I found Dr. Emery to be friendly, warm, attentive, and reassuring. Amy listened to me and noted my preferences for my new frames, patiently explored the options with me, and explained the different types of lens I could choose. (i really like that Dr. Emery asked me some questions about frames and then advised Amy of what I was looking for. No needless repetition of questions! That part felt like a spa experience, where one professional hands you off to the next and they’re all on the same page about who you are and what you need next.)
In other news, the décor was fun, playful, and unexpected. I didn’t feel like I was in an ophthalmologist’s office at all. I was greeted warmly and given my choice of Keurig coffee or bottled water and made to feel at home.
All in all, a really satisfying visit. I felt like my needs were addressed, my opinions were heard, and I was treated like a valued patient.

Groupon brought me in 2013, great service brought me back for a second pair in 2014. I like their cool selection of frames. Amy is awesome!!!

Great place. I have lived in Austin for 9 months now and was searching for an eye doctor. Since I’m a huge Groupon fan, up popped their deal for $ 49 eyeglass exam (with $ 150 toward glasses). I also paid $ 55 for a contact lens exam. I waited a little bit but that is because this place is busy! WOW! Beautiful décor and trendy, friendly staff. Glad I found my new eye place! Highly recommended.

I really like this place. I came across it because of a Groupon. They honored it no problem and were nice and courteous. The place looks so well put together and modern. Not like other offices that are plain and boring looking. Everyone was warm and welcoming. I spent $ 49 on the Groupon, got the exam done, got the $ 99 frames, and got the lenses. After all was said and done, I spent $ 118 the day I went there plus the $ 49. So just under $ 170 for an exam and complete pair of glasses! Great deal.

I went here after I was completely frustrated and angry at the strip mall places that advertize «Buy one, get one». After all the extras they add on you end up paying MORE in the long run. GGGRRRR! Thankfully for me, I checked Unilocal and in I went in here. Great help wtih selection, NO GIMMICKS, and they dont charge you MORE for what you should be getting in the first place. I love my frames, they were LESS $$ than the other chain stores– so dont throw your $$ away on false ads b/​c you get the real deal here!

I would not recommend Distinct Vision to anyone. I bought a pair of glasses In May 2012 that were broken when I got them, so they had to send them back for repair. A few months later I think August they broke again, they fixed them but a bit unwillingly. So now here we are in March 2013 they broke again, it is the same left side of the arm of the glasses that keeps breaking and now they will not fix them. They would not warranty them. Most Eye Care providers warranty there glasses for a year and Distinct Vision doesn’t. So what does a person do! Go buy more glasses before they need to. Glasses are very expensive, I think I paid $ 400.00 for them, who has an extra $ 400.00 sitting around.
Dr. Emery is very nice and I like her, but her staff is something else, never felt the love.

My recent visit to Distinct Vision was not disappointing at all. The front desk lady was very welcoming and the atmosphere of the lobby is nice too. I bought a Groupon for $ 50 that included the eye exam and up to $ 150 towards my new frames and lenses. I did almost pay an extra $ 200 but the frames I ordered looked great. Dr. Emery is hella nice. She executed the exam thoroughly and promptly and it wasn’t a horrible experience. She answered my questions in a way I could understand and I appreciate that. Definitely a great place to get a pair of glasses and prescription.

I recently started using Distinct Vision for all of my «eye» needs. I enjoy this place and am very confident in the staff and their knowledge. Additionally, I LOVE that they offer appointments outside of the normal 8 – 5 p.m. unlike most other offices. Not having to take off of work to see a doctor or pick up contacts and lenses is a great bonus!
