Always good food and great service, we have dinner there as often as I can afford it. I’m not a huge Chinese food fan, but I like their Kung Pao Chicken and my family loves Chinese and only want to eat it here

The food does not make up for the unforgivably poor customer service. Tried this place tonight because it is conveniently located… While they have a large menu, they do not offer many popular appetizers and entrees(i.e. No shrimp egg rolls or chow fun noodle dishes). We placed an order for take-out and prepaid in advance. I arrived to pick up my order only to discover, it was sent out for delivery. Really comical considering Sichuan garden does not have my address. The manager would not remake my order, nor did she care that I took the time to drive to her restaurant(in all the traffic)… Her solution was to call the driver, and have him deliver the food to my home. This really bothered me, because I had no way to ensure the order being delivered had everything I ordered or that it included the chopsticks and sauces requested(which it did not)… The food was mediocre at best… Over seasoned Singapore noodles with barely a trace of egg, greasy spring rolls(even though I ordered egg rolls), and very cheap take out packaging(styrofoam containers, rather than quality take-out containers, designed to keep your food warm). First and last experience. Hope my review saves you a dinner mistake. Give another place a try, pass on Sichuan garden…

Had an impressive spicy meal here today. Had multiple cravings so I settled on everything: hot and spicy soup, Sichuan bean curd with pork, Dan Dan noodles, and fried rice. The bean curb was my favorite. so flavorful and spicy. And the hot and sour is not to be missed. Very extensive menu. Would definitely come back,

Decided to try this place out because they deliver to my area. Call to order and delivery person were very nice. Wish I could give a good report on the food. Everything just tasted really odd. Order did not come with soy sauce in bag. Overall experience was an expensive bummer, I really wanted to like this place, but won’t be ordering from Sichuan Garden again.

Waitresses are nice and the food is more than passable. The lunch special was super cheap for a lot of food so if you’re into the more americanized stuff, have at it. Your lunch comes with an eggroll, soup, crispy chips, rice and your entrée for under $ 8. That said all the food is alright. The general tso chicken is a bit too gloopy for my liking, though juicy and tender. Fried rice is meh. The egg drop soup is actually not bad and goes great with the fried dough strips. Eggroll is alright, nothing special there. I hear good things about this place though and definitely with a different party want to come back and try the more traditional stuff. But for now, i’ll give it a 3.

Sichuan Garden Chinese is «alright». It’s been difficult to find a awesome«Asian» restaurants(Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean) in this area. It’s a love/hate… there’s not much to choose from in the Round Rock area. So sometimes when we’re in a bind and in that corner we will grab SG to go. I think we may be seriously considering now it’s time to start cooking Chinese food at home! SG’s menu is very long… Lots of options which covers seafood, poultry, beef, pork and vegetarian. We first tried SG back in Dec 2011 and the portions seemed to get smaller and the price higher through the years. A great example, we used to get with our Sweet & Sour Pork or Chicken order pineapples, bell peppers etc. Now it’s completely BARE! It’s just breaded chicken with a side of sauce. The sauce has also trimed down — it’s no longer thick, now it’s just runny or watered down :(so disappointed! Coming from SF we love our Chow Mein. Here they call it Lo Mein. No matter where you go remember that in Texas! Unfortunately some dishes @ SG are a bit too salty and when they say the dish is spicy– you better believe it! Take-out/Delivery: I like the fact they keep the sweet & sour sauce separate from the dish. But remember the point above about the S&S order — it’s naked! The fried rice you get with your lunch/dinner order used to be more than just«fried» or brownish rice, it did come with visible ingredients… now it’s just that browned up rice! We moved away from the neighborhood so we no longer do Delivery orders, but last we did delivery was available for 5 miles or less. Remember to order in advance of dinner time. They get slammed between 6−8pm.

Best Chinese food around! I love the dinner specials they come with your entrée and choice of soup, fried or steamed rice and an egg roll! The food is always awesome! We always order enough to have some the next day cause its that good! I have never tried something I didn’t love, everything on their menu is great!

They have spicy fish dish which was amazing! Family of 4 was a bit expensive, but they serve family portions, probably would have been better ordering less dishes.

Extremely racist establishment. I do not recommend. I typed up a big review months ago but they reported it. I won’t type it up again, but I will leave them my 1 star. also the food tastes like stir fried spicy spoiled rabbit.

Food is good, waitresses have good service and are very accommodating. The big American guy at the front is pretty annoying and weird, best just to avoid conversation with him. I’ve been coming here a long time and it’s true that the price has crept up. It used to be a great place to eat on a budget for the generous portion you’d get, but that’s not the case any more. Still, delivery and dine-in is a great experience and you can’t beat the BYOB policy. They frequently add dishes to the menu so you don’t get burnt out eating the same thing over and over which is nice. If you like Sichuan food then this is the place to go in the Austin area. It’s funny, people give this place one star because a waitress looked at them the wrong way or something. Typical whiny Unilocalers want nothing less than everyone to kiss their ass. Ignore those reviewers.

It pains me to write this, as this place used to be not only one of the best restaurants in the Austin area, but also the only restaurant in Round Rock, where you could get authentic(Sichuan) Chinese fare. No more. I wonder if they changed owners, and/or chefs. The food now all looks, smells and tastes the same — BAD: everything’s been pounded and ‘tenderized’ to death with that typical disgusting, thick, gloppy coat of cornstarch; green and red bell peppers for some unfathomable reason make a half-assed cameo on every plate; and nary a Sichuan peppercorn remains in sight — to be replaced by our familiar Tex-Mex amigo the jalapeño(WTF??? You ARE a Sichuan restaurant, are you not? At least it still says so on your marquee). The portions also got considerably smaller, with the prices staying level or creeping up. Looks like they’ve gone the American(–Chinese) way. Also, please fire the skinny young Chinese waitress who stomps about like every customer is there to be ‘struggled’ and owes her their onlyborn.(I think it’s actually the same waitress who got fired from Sichuan River down south?) Never again.

So half of our meal was almost perfect — we ordered Sichaun style fish boiled in spicy sauce and mapa tofu. If we had stopped there — it would have been 4 stars. But we added pan fried noodles which were super greasy but not tasty. How do you make plain but greasy food? I thought greasy was supposed to add flavor. We also ordered orange beef and it was simply way too sweet, gluey and the beef was obviously tenderized within an inch of its life. Now this place looks totally old-school so if you are not into a 70’s chinese restaurant vibe — this might be off-putting. But me — I like it. But the host who greeted us at the front door was a young kid wearing a tank top. That’s not really the style that I expect to see at a restaurant — but I guess if he is here — he isn’t out creating teenage havoc. Additionally, our waitress was fairly efficient and helpful — but she didn’t seem interested in providing any human interaction.

Great place. Large selection of food items. I love how this place is BYOB. So hubby and I went to sprouts to get a 6pk and came over to this place to dine. We ordered to go first time and it was good. We decided to dine in this time around. Food was good and service was awesome! Very friendly place! Will be back :)

This is an above average place. The hot and sour soup was very good. We tried the crab wantons too and they were excellent as well as very large. The service was good and prices were competitive. Nice to see a place this quality. I will be back.

Excellent veggie feast. My boyfriend had food delivered and he said the man on the phone was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their veggie items ;) He ordered a bunch of things… veggie egg roll, yam(?) bread(so good), fried tofu(good, fried on the outside and soft on the inside), brown rice and veggie dumplings. The food was very good.

I’m updating my previous review of several years back to reflect the improved service I’ve received at this unique and notably authentic restaurant. I had a very frustrating outing in 2010 in which I was ignored for a long period of time before walking out of Sichuan Garden. Since then, I’ve been back and not had any issues. For ample portions and well-executed food, this is a solid place!

OK– so its thanksgiving, and you go for a walk, and you decide to grab something light before your big thanksgiving meal at the end of the day. How do you end up at chinese? We found Sichuan Garden months ago, after calling around for Gluten free chinese options, and finding them lacking. Sichuan told us about their crispy fried chicken, which they said was not breaded(if you get the white meat.) It was delicious, and a house special. So here we were, a few hours from a big meal, having another big meal! Dinner portions are easily split between two people. The egg drop soup was delicious. My dining companions ate a bunch of things I couldn’t, and gave them enthusiastic thumbs ups :) Ill visit again, just probably not right before a big meal!
