Date of Service 2÷6÷16 We ordered: 1. Parisian Benedict 2. Viva la French Toast 3. 2 coffees Time between seated and waitress response: 9 mins Time between waitress taking our drink order and receiving drinks(coffee): 11 mins 25 secs Time between waitress bringing our coffee and waitress returning to take our order: 15 mins Time between taking our order and us deciding to leave due to food taking too long: 42 mins. A couple that was seated about 20 mins after us received their food and we still waited another 15 minutes before deciding to leave. We wasted over an hour for food that we did not get. Our waitress was very slow and spent too much time talking to people she knew that were eating in our section. As soon as we were at the cashier to pay for our coffee, our waitress runs from the back with our food and stated«i’m so sorry I was not back in the kitchen to notice that your food had been sitting there for a while.» Note: The restaurant was pretty much about 65% full. We’ve been here before where we waited 30 mins to be seated and still received our food pretty quickly. Note: The manager did a great job in trying to resolve the issue but we already had our bad experience and will probably not go here for a loooooooong time.

Finally tried The Egg & I in Round Rock. FOOD: We ordered the following 1) Biscuit, Eggs & Gravy — average(gravy was a bit salty) 2) Strawberry Banana Waffles — great texture and flavors minus the missing bananas 3) Eggs Benedict– pretty good Service 1) Hostess was rude. 2) Our Waitress was nice and was prompt once we told her we have been waiting for our table to be cleaned(initially promised by the Hostess who tried to seat us at a table when we asked for the empty booth). 3) Unfortunately, no one checked on us after our food was served. Price * Kind of pricey for the little amount of food you get. It’s a toss-up… go here or go to iHop’s. * We expected more from Egg & I.

Went to have brunch with a friend at this restaurant and was treated with kindness. The waitress was so awesome! Thanks Laura for all you do! This is a nice place to fellowship. Faith-based too, not only get fed with food, but also the word of God… Two thumbs up! Will be back again!

Their biscuits and gravy taste like they were made by your great grandma Judith who cooks everything with love and southern charm. & the answer to Ranch potatoes, is yes. Always yes.

My family and I visited here for the first time this past Sunday morning. We just happened to be in the area and were hungry. We hadn’t heard much about this place but decided to give it a try. The food was fantastic! The wait staff was nice and friendly! The coffee was great and our waiter kept coming and checking on us. So, our coffee was never empty. I definitely would recommend it! I’m surprised at the negative reviews I have seen on here. My suggestion would be to give it another try. Maybe you just had a bad waiter.

This was my first visit to this location and I enjoyed it. The Athena breakfast(no meat) was a meal I will look forward to again and again. While reading theough the menu, I was pleased to find many vegetarian options, but this breakfast won me at the word: feta. With a side of magnificent potatoes, I am in love. Until next time Egg and I…

When I came here this morning I was slightly irritated but that did not last long at all. The general manager came up to our table and we had a fantastic conversation and I don’t really care if this is PC to talk about but he is God fearing man and it SHINES through his every word and how he treats everyone. He has amazing experiences and some that are also heart breaking, like the generosity that they bestowed upon some that were suffering from loss of everything while nobody else would help them. It is an honor to eat at a place ran by somebody with a heart as loving as his. The waitress we got opened up once we asked about him and you can tell that the staff here love their general manager too, I mean how can you not love working for somebody who cares so much about you? He also clearly doesn’t judge those who have not found Christ which makes me thrilled because THATIS how we are called to be, not hateful and judgmental. Love it here!

I have been here three or four times — I was non-plussed. They are always super busy, which good for them, but it feels like it takes forever to get any service. The food is ok, but not worth the wait in combination with the price.

I am shocked at the good reviews(maybe I just have much higher standards). I have been to other locations which were disappointing, but this one takes the cake. Food: We had the Texas scramble and one of the limited time only eggs benedict. Lets start with the scramble. It looked like a pile of dog food. The steak was dry and almost recognizable. The cheese? I dug around and the brown crust I am assuming used to be cheese. The eggs were almost non existent. It was pretty much a skillet of soggy bland potatoes and a few pieces of steak like product, and crusty cheese. Taste wasn’t good either. I put ketchup AND hot sauce on it and that didn’t help. Skillets are usually a ton of food and this was a sad portion. Even with that being said, I left half of it on the table, it was that bad. The benedict. It was a little better, but still not good. Denny’s could have done a better job. Service: As if the food wasn’t bad enough, the service was horrible. It took 45 minutes to get our food. No one ever came to our table to check our drinks or tell us the food would be out soon or apologize for the wait. And don’t sit next to the kitchen unless you want to hear everyone complain that it’s not yet 2 pm when they close. One snarky waitress was dropping f-bombs in the kitchen because the hostess sat someone in her section too close to closing time. When it was 2, they all cheered and made a big deal about it. Seriously? That is SUCH bad attitude and appearance for your customers. It was so bad, I started looking around for a manager, but there wasn’t anyone who was obviously in charge. The guy at the register was the last straw, unfriendly and short.(they still had at least 30 people inside after we left). I’ve worked food service before, and this was very much disappointing all of the way around. I am sad Café Java was closed for the NY day holiday. I would have rather waited an hour in the cold for good service and fantastic food.

They never disappoint! The food always comeso hot, yummy and consistent! I’ve had everything from their skillets to their French Toast(my fave) and they are always on point! You can tell they take pride in who they hire as well, because everyone from the hostesses to the managers are all friendly and seem committed to ensuring your experience is excellent. My only thing that’s not exciting is the wait on the weekends, but they can’t help that everyone recognizes good food when they taste it!

This is a nice brunch place, a definite improvement over the usual ihop Denny’s places. They have a good selection of the usual omelette pancakes but also have a nice special selections menu. We ordered the banana nut French toast as that was the day’s special and it definitely hit the spot. We also had the Mexican omelette which was hearty. The serving size is Texas sized — huge! We are going to enjoy the left overs tonite.

First time here. I loved the Parisian Benedict! The poached eggs were done PERFECTLY. The fruit was fresh. The bottomless coffee was a bit overpriced, but basically in line with other breakfast houses. Not opposed to eating here again if I find myself in need of a quick meal while road warrioring.

This place really surprised me. I thought it was going to be like Dennys or IHOP and it’s NOT. I got the veggie Benedict without the sauce anger or wad soooooo fresh and tasty! But they don’t add seasonings so you get to add your own, the way you prefer. The waitress was super sweet and everyone is very welcoming. I highly suggest you trying this. You WILL come back!

I never thought I’d find a breakfast joint that made IHOP a chefs look like wizards. I struggled with the star rating on this one mostly because it’s perfect for people who actually aren’t on Unilocal. If that makes any sense… How can I say this without offending anyone, it’s for your grandma and grandpa that have long ago lost their ability to taste anything on any side of their tongue or even know what good food is even supposed to look like. BUT they love it apparently. I looked around the restaurant to get an idea of who comes here and it was a sea of blue hairs… Awww They do it right for those kinds of people. If you’re into that this place is for you. Really the menu LOOKS promising. But the delivery, the execution, was underwhelming. My server was yelling at me. No I’m not 85 years old. It is very overpriced for what you get. Unilocalers, please save your stomach, your soul and your money.

IF you are looking for the short review: YES, I love this place and have been a frequent customer here! The food is more than decent and inexpensive with a positive staff and warm atmosphere. This place has not let me down with their yummy menu and the fact that other people compare this place to Ihop perplexes me. My boyfriend and I aren’t big fans of IHOP and we actually think this place is a step up from it for several reasons. Ambiance– Very welcoming with warm and mellow colors inside. It’s very clean looking too. Compare that to the stark white walls of Ihop. **Staff– For the most part, I have loved every staff member. Except one. Please read further down for an explanation. Aside from that one employee, everyone seems warm and welcoming and I have never experienced any sour apples. The servers always greet me with positive attitudes. I never feel prejudged or out of place with them. Drinks– When you order coffee and ask for creamer, they give you a little container with cold creamer in it. Small addition, but still, +1 over Ihop. Also, freshly squeezed orange juice! Food– My boyfriend usually gets the Mexican Skillet and I get the Hiker’s Benedict. If I had enough room, I would probably get the Mexican Skillet more often. If you love potatoes and cheese, wow, you are in for a treat. Comes with two eggs on top(we prefer them sunny side up or over and easy), a side order, and one tortilla, which one tortilla is already too much in my opinion because it is enough food for an average person to consume. The Hiker’s Benedict is equally as yummy, but not as generously portioned and it comes with ranch potatoes. It is the perfect amount for me to finish my meal. I also hear a lot of people complain about the bacon. I’m not a bacon snob, but I do love bacon. I’ve had a side of bacon from this place twice before, and I don’t see anything bad about it. Now, for those giving the poor reviews, you have to make sure you understand each establishment for what it is. It’s a chain restaurant that started in Colorado. It’s not a local shop like Café Java. Once restaurants expand into a corporate entity as such, a little bit of their soul gets taken away little by little the larger it becomes. There is less incentive to use things such as local, fresh produce or beef to entice the customers. And yet! They offer freshly squeezed orange juice! Don’t mistake that for«pure squeezed» orange juice at Ihop. There is a difference. Now compare all of this with Ihop. The Egg & I does not vary much in price, but everything else I had mentioned surpasses. **On a side note, I will mention that this location has a strange employee working here. I will not mention who, but I’ve been served by them several times and have never enjoyed my visit there as much when this happens. One time, my boyfriend and I were seated in a different section this person was waiting. They stared at us several times and would walk past our table in very close proximity slowly without asking if we needed anything. Creepy.

Poorly staffed for a Sunday morning. Mostly empty tables but a 35 – 40 minute wait. Seeing other poor reviews on service so it didn’t seem worth the wait. Hopefully they can step it up. The crowd would have supported it today. Will update review if we decide to try another time.

So wife and I went to Egg and I. This was probably the 3rd visit we did since they opened, and honestly, I thought it would get better over time, but it really is just meh! There are way to many other options with better prices to get a great breakfast than this place. The food was just ok, nothing great, the thing that really bothered me was you couldn’t substitute anything hardly, and 2 pieces of bacon as a side is $ 2.00 and their bacon isn’t that great. service was ok, like I said it was at or just below average and for those prices it should have been a lot better. Wife had biscuits and gravy side of bacon, and Dr Pepper. I had the 2 eggs and pancake side of sausage and toast(toast was an additional $ 1.50) total bill was $ 32.00. sorry but that breakfast just wasn’t worth $ 15 per person, $ 10 maybe but definitely not $ 15! last chance to impress and they failed.

I really don’t know why this place has only 3 stars! The food is amazing. I’ve ordered Veggie Eggs Benedict — poached eggs on English muffin with asparagus, tomato, spinach, mushrooms, artichoke and hollandaise sauce. That dish is something unbelievable. The personnel is very nice and polite. Very good looking place. Definitely I am going to come back here. I recommend it!!!

We had Fathers Day Brunch here, our first time here. We really liked that they brought a carafes of your beverages to the table so you don’t have to ask for a refill. Everyone liked their breakfast. I ordered a Denver omelette minus the sour cream, add hollandaise sauce. The sauce was ok, needed more flavor. My son devoured his Belgian Waffle. My nephew got the Parisian Benedict and really liked it. I liked that they would sub out a fruit cup for the potatoes. $ 42 for four meals and two drinks. Seems a little high for breakfast.

I took my family here today and I must say the wait seemed like it was going to be long but it wasn’t. The meals were rightly proportioned for all of us. Kids ate all their food to includes mommy and me. The Belgium waffle is a must try. I like the strawberries and bananas one. They come with two eggs and two meats of your choice. They bring you refill bottles whether coffee or tea. I didn’t have to ask the waiter for more. Kids glasses cone with plastic lids on top. Oh they have free Wi-Fi here. Definitely a plus. Because we planned on going shopping at the Lowe’s near by.

So I really wanted to give this place a solid chance, which we did despite my misgivings on the review and popped in here with a party of 5 after Christmas for a late breakfast/brunch. I am not sure if it was because it was the day after Christmas but it went downhill shortly after we were seated. Our server was horrible… I am not sure if he was having an off day but good grief that was the worst service I have ever gotten in awhile and that was one thing I was looking forward to if the food tanked. We got our drinks, but ran out of sugar… a manager-ish looking chick came by and replenished the water. We ordered our food, standard fare… I was looking forward to the crab cake benedict as that is what I usually try at a new place to gauge if I will return for whatever quirky reason. We are all sipping on our drinks and waiting, and waiting, looking around at other tables that have sat after us ate and left, continue to wait. About 45 minutes later… no sign of the waiter, still waiting he rushes by and mumbles something about the food coming out shortly. Well I hope so! Food finally comes out, and I was pretty HANGRY and this point… I had a feeling he forgot about our order or something got messed up in the kitchen. But half of the tables food comes out, the banana bread french toast that my honey ordered was still on it’s way. Seriously? It’s been like an hour! So my eggs benedict, were not longer a benedict. The sauce was barely dribbled on and congealed. The eggs were no longer the wonderful oozy poached consistency they should be, they were cooked through. My english muffin was soggy. My ranch home fries were lukewarm… I was not a happy camper, so I did something that I never do and sent my food back telling him it was inedible and horrible and I didn’t want it. He asked if I wanted it to be re-done, I said well… not really since I don’t want to wait another hour. He said no it won’t take long. I simply ordered some eggs, bacon and hash browns and lo and behold they come out in less than 5 minutes. The bacon was HORRIBLE, it was burnt. We got no apologies or visits from the waiter, he didn’t even offer to give us a discount for this horrible meal. There was a party of 8 that was checking out ahead of us that apparently had horrible food and their waiter stayed with them and gave them a discount. The girl checking us out at their horrible inefficient check out station asked how it was and I told her it was horrible, one of the worst meals I have had in awhile and the service was terrible… she just smirked at me, as if she already knew today was just a wash for anyone entering their premises. It doesn’t seem like they care about if they have good food or service, people will still continue to unfortunately support this sad wannabe IHOP. So, hopefully nobody has to deal with what we did. And I guess just stick to the bare basics… but if they can’t even get eggs or bacon right… ah well, this place is put on our will not return to list.
