I have a love affair with New Orleans. It may or may not stem back to my high school interest in voodoo dolls(for the people that used to tell me I had a big nose). No matter the origin, I love the food, the people, the place, the vibe, the everything. So if there is anything New Orleans in my back yard, I’m there. The menu was fairly large which was surprising for a trailer but I chose to keep it simple and stick to the title. They makes a damn good shrimp poboy. Fresh and tasty. The hot sauce made it. Can’t wait to get back and try some more. As a side not, the trailer park has live music and free movie nights. Check out their website. Perfect time to give this place a try. Signed, Marie Laveau

Po boy and fried seafood was ok. You’re ordering from a trailer park so you don’t go there expecting gourmet dining. Still a fun place and they have great menu items to choose from.

Base on Gumbo from today. It was the worst Gumbo ever ! It was more like runny stock with under cook rice, 3 littles cubes of well done chicken breast, 2 little worn out sausage pieces !!! Seriously it was nasty, I took 2 bites and threw it in the trash ! What a disappointment ;-(if u want a great gumbo go to French Quarter restaurant!

A passable Po Boy, but with a sizable family in and around New Orleans, I am accustomed to a more flavorful sandwich.

Stopped by the Round Rock Trailer Yard and picked up a Po Boy for lunch. I give this place 4 stars solely for the sauce that was on the Po Boy, it was delicious. My daughter and I love it, can’t wait to go back for more. The lady serving the food was nice and they take credit cards. There is no doubt I will return for another Po Boy here.

This was one of the stops we made when we came to the RR Food Trailer lot. I cant pass up Cajun if I tried! We got there late, so no surprise that they were sold out of gumbo– but most of the trailers were sold of out most of their food. Cant hold it against them, yet. The catfish plate was amazing. Great fish, prepared wonderfully, and tasty! Bread, and sides were equally good. Felt a bit pricey, being its a food trailer, but it came with a drink. We also ordered a shrimp po-boy. Shrimp was fried nicely, and had a good seasoning, but the sandwich itself was really dry. Friendly. Yes!

I am not very pleased with my experience here. Very unfriendly staff. I called to see if they accepted credit cards and got some gruff guy answering the phone, you could barely understand what he said, I wasn’t sure I even called the correct place. I got the same service when I got there. No smile, no pleasant attitude, and I don’t even remember getting a thank you. This place is WAY overpriced. For a pint of crawfish étouffée, and two large poboys, it was $ 42! I would much rather go to Gumbo’s or Louisiana Longhorn than stand in the heat for crappy customer service and almost $ 50 for two people to eat(that’s with no drinks or appetizers, folks). To top it off, I stood there for 20 minutes waiting to get my order. No «sorry for the wait» or anything, just people who obviously don’t like their job. The étouffée was just ok, it was very tomatoey, not what I am used to. I hate to say it but the leftovers will probably be thrown out, money literally down the drain. The po-boys were good, but definitely not for the price, the wait, the heat, or the lack of a smile.

6:00 on a Friday night and the Gumbo Shop is out of gumbo? It ain’t right, I tell ya, it ain’t right. So I go with my second choice, the red beans and rice, only to find that they are out of that too. A little preparation goes a long way folks… What I did finally end up with, a shrimp po’ boy and some jambalaya, wasn’t half bad. The po’ boy was definitely the better of the two and would probably get four stars on its own. The jambalaya was a bit soggy and could have used a little more flavor. I have had some great jambalaya’s and sadly this one did not hit the mark. If the gumbo shop hadn’t been out of gumbo, they might have fared better here, but my experience today was 3 stars at best. I might give them another try, but can’t see myself going out of my way to get there.

There are now two«Original» New Orleans Po Boy and Gumbo Shops. Don’t let that confuse you too much.(The other one, on South Congress, is run by the same chef, Darold Gordon, who was present at this trailer when I visited.) The menu includes gumbo, Po Boys and a number of what looked like full-blown Cajun meal platters. Since this was my first visit I just tried something small and relatively light, just a single blackened catfish taco. The cajun spice was perfect – just the right amount of heat but with the rest of the robust flavor that you’d expect, on a tortilla-sized fresh-tasting catfish fillet. The single taco was reasonably priced at $ 3.52(with tax). Of the trailers I visited tonight, this is my favorite. A stand-out place in a nice area. I’m looking forward to trying more from here, and bringing my friends.
