Three stars because. There’s no restroom. Tf? Best friend found this new Taiwanese spot in Rowland and we were all for it! So glad we did too! This place is pretty small for a restaurant, which had six tables in total. I would think this is more of a boba spot then a food place. But it’s a food place lol. Got seated right away which is a plus! The staff was great and attentive! Not to mention handsome ;) lols I got the chicken steak with rice and it was so much food! The steak was crisp and tender, but started to get dry when I was almost finish with it. But still good! I suggest that dish! My friends got the pork bun, which is different than shao bao(I think). SOBOMB I loved it! I would get that the next time I come here. There’s shaved ice and boba here too. Hopefully my group wants to come back! Three stars because of no restroom lol

[ TIPS ] 1. Cash only 2. Parking can be a little difficult during lunch/dinner rush to find as the lot is shared with a multitude of other establishments in the plaza. Come during off hours. [ DRINKS ] For drinks only: I got a Roasted Oolong with herbal jelly to-go and it was SOGOOD. They put too much ice in the drink though and it comes in one size only. But other than that the flavor of the tea mixed in with the bitterness of the herbal jelly was surprisingly very delicious and I was impressed by the flavor and boldness of the tea they served. They also give heaping servings of the add-ons ordered(50c per topping I believe) Although not sure if it was because delicious or if I were too thirsty… But it’s great that I’ve found another location that serves oolong tea and I’ve found another good drink combination.

Came here on a Friday night dinner with a party of five at 6:15 pm. It was already pretty busy and it is a small place but they do have a lot of bomb food. It’s worth the wait, and our food reminded me of the street food in Taiwan. Enjoyed our lovely dinner with full of flavor. Had a popcorn chicken, Mochi, pork rice, beef noodle soup. Enjoyed the popcorn chicken and the pork rice Didn’t actually try any of the drinks here so I’ll be coming back soon. Parking can be a tad difficult in this plaza since its small but I’m sure if you come during off times it will be fine.

My first visit and I was charged $ 5.00 for a $ 2.75 drink for no reason. I ordered one drink without adding anything else, the waiter handed it to me and asked for $ 5. Since this was my first visit, I did not know what the price is, just thought it is quite an expense place. I grabbed a menu on the way out and found out the drink is $ 2.75. First and the last visit for me!

The pork chop entrée is still my favorite, especially with the dry noodles!(You get an option of rice, dry noodles, or soup noodles) The pork chop always has a good flavor and is fried to a crispy perfection! Tried the Beef Noodle Soup also and it wasn’t that great, really big portion, but it was just alright. The Sesame Chicken Noodle Soup(not on the menu) was kind of bland, nothing too special and it was $ 9! More expensive than their items, but a big portion. I’ve had their Fried Tempura and Satay Squid too and I expected bigger portions because their entrees are so big. I didn’t think either stood out that much and probably wouldn’t order them again. On the other hand, I would get the Pork Belly Bao again! The pork belly was super tender and had a really good flavor to it. Service is still kinda slow, but looks like it’s improving. Still have to try their drinks, but the pork chop is constantly bringing me back!

BESTBOBAMILKTEAEVER! I will never go back to Tenrens for milk tea now that I’ve found Bread Fish Café. I love how their milk tea has a very balanced taste of tea. Their specialty is pork chop with rice. Authentic Taiwanese food. Great service and great environment. Cute place to hang out with friends or grab some lunch/dinner. I will defiantly come back for more!

We have been ordering our company lunch from BreadFish café. I will give them 4 and half stars because they are consistent in quality, portion, and deli every time. The boss is nice and always listen what to our stomach want. I recommended the pork chop rice. The pork is fried perfectly with marinated flavor. The braised pork on the rice will make you finish all the carbs!

Another hole in the wall since the prior Asian lamb specialty restaurant went bust. The landlord divided the place into two businesses. The parking was convenient for being a Sunday since it’s located in a shared strip center. The family owned and operated eatery is small but has a comfortable, nicely decorated dining room and a simple menu. Started off with beef noodle soup noodles that was solid. I like how they didn’t overcook the bok choy and the broth was hearty — chili sauce is provided on the side. I followed with the braised pork which was stellar tasting and was accompanied with seaweed, bean sprouts and streamed rice. I heart small businesses like this and I’m looking forward to returning and trying some of their other entrées.

Came here for a 2nd time today and I think I would come here a lot more since there isn’t much legit choices(yes I know there are a lot of restaurants) in rowland heights. Although I have missed Dolphin Bay, Breadfish has become a solid replacement of Dolphin Bay. 6.50 for their crispy pork chop rice that comes with two side dishes(like seaweed and beansprouts), one big plate of mince pork rice and it taste great, plus a whole pork chop CUT and NOBONES. Yup sounds great, great deal and taste great. I wish they had like a lunch combo or something where I can get the pork chop rice + green tea for like 7.50÷8 that would be PERFECT. Their service is on and off. It was a lot better today than it was last time I came so I decided to give this place a solid 4.

Reviews for the Hokkian rice ball soup, Sesame ginger chicken soup and hot mochi. Both soups were good but lack of depth and too salty. IMO, rice ball soup need more fried shallots 油蔥酥 and perhaps more Chinese celery 芹菜. As for the chicken soup, it’s too mild for my taste. I like it with more ginger and wine. Hot mochi was nice, chewy and perfectly sweetened. Before we leave, I told how I felt about the saltiness of the soups to the owner’s son, he politely acknowledged and apologized to me then he redirected my opinion to the chef, his mom in the kitchen. Overall is pretty good. We will go back to try the other dishes.

Small little restaurant that used to be Dolphin Bay! Came here for dinner w/my mom and it was pretty darn good. We got Popcorn Chicken, Pork Chop w/Rice, Pork Chop w/Noodles(lol we just love our pork chops), a Braised Pork Rice(to go), and Hot Mochi! Popcorn Chicken — Tender and delicious! Most places in Rowland Heights mess up popcorn chicken because they either put too much breading or fry it for too long so it turns super dry, but not this place. Tasted a little bland too me, but my mom thought it was good. Pork Chop Rice — Delicious! Loved the flavor of the pork chop, and it was perfectly fried! Came with a good amount of rice w/a little bit of the braised pork sauce over it(which was also delicious) and little side dishes. Pork Chop Noodle — Pork chop yet again was perfectly fried. Comes with a pretty big bowl of noodles. Standard Taiwanese soup and noodles, but delicious nonetheless. Braised Pork Rice — Brought it home for my sister and she said it was too oily, but I think it’s cause they put too much sauce, so not necessarily a bad thing. Hot Mochi — I was really curious about this because of other Unilocalers, but it is exactly what it’s called. They are Taiwanese mochi balls w/o filling covered in peanut powder and black sesame seeds. It was good, but not getting it again. They are definitely short on staff, and the staff is really disorganized, but who would’ve thought that this little restaurant would become so popular? The prices are good. Overall, a good place to go to for some good Taiwanese food. I’ll be back for more pork chops and the Beef Noodle Soup!

3.5 stars for this new Taiwanese restaurant which is surprisingly super busy considering it’s located in a dead plaza and it hasn’t been open for that long i couldn’t decide between the beef noodle soup and the braised pork so i guess i’ll be coming back for the pork! —beef noodle soup with thick noodles: i wish the noodles were chewier! they are pretty generous with the amount of beef in each bowl and the beef is VERY tender but a bit salty. the broth is alright, could use some more flavor —popcorn chicken: nothing special, pretty standard. you can order it any 3 levels of spicy, we got medium but i think we should have ordered hot the menu is pretty limited to milk tea, shaved ice, and a couple of taiwanese café dishes NOTE: CASHONLY. there’s a sign inside that says no public restroom but just ask and theyll let you use the one in the back of the kitchen

Nice people, decent food. Worth to support. Small but cozy, I think it’s a family owned restaurant. Cash only tho. I ordered pick up by phone the first time and found out they only take cash. I didn’t have enough cash, so I was gonna go find an ATM but the owner was so nice he kept saying it’s ok and let me take the food(I paid them back the next day of course). I hope they will have more veggie options on the menu in the near future.

— Locale Destination — It’s on Colima Rd and Banida Ave in Rowland Heights. It’s in a strip shopping center. Ambiance: Very modern, simple and kinda cute with reclaimed woods and some greens. Not big but enough seating. No outside seating. Bathroom is in the back side of their kitchen. So you need to go through the kitchen, though the sign says«no public bathroom». It’s clean, but it’s weird you got to go through the small kitchen. Just so you know. Service: The dude spoke to me in Chinese, so I guess most of the clienteles are their own people. He seemed nice but not a through service, for sure. At least he’s prompt. Ordering system: It was very awkward. I don’t know whether if it’s because they just opened the establishment or not. Am I supposed to pick up the paper menu? Am I supposed to wait at the table? Am I supposed to pay first or later? I don’t know… It was awkward. Menu: Very small, not so much varieties. Food and some boba drinks. Paper menu is in English, yet slushy menu with picture on the table is only in Chinese. They have some picture menu on the wall, so I assumed they have those and got to ask what they are. They don’t even have some stuff on the pictures already. All the menu should be on the menu or they should put them all in English at least. Food — bowls, noodle soup etc. Not so many. Slushy — Slushy menu isn’t in English, so I got to ask. Strawberry, passionfruit, lychee, caramel, green beans etc. Some topping options you could see on the wall picture, though some of the items are no longer on their menu…(no rainbow jelly). Tea — boba tea. Milk tea, Thai tea etc. Parking: Not plenty, but enough. — Gluttony Expedition — Caramel slushy: Very sweet, yet not bad. Grass jelly was very soft and sweet. Decent. Popcorn chicken: It was cooked well. Even though the server didn’t ask me any seasoning/spiciness level(it could be very spicy sometimes unless you specified it), it wasn’t spicy ;) Not wow, but it was not bad. Braised pork bowl: Great! The pork was very tender, with lots of fat(which is great for this! It gives sweetness!), seasoned well — not light, not too sweet, good portion. It comes with some side dishes(seaweed and bean sprouts). This is great dish coming out of boba shop. — Conqueror’s Deduction — Good food for good price. They don’t have many options on food nor drink, which I don’t mind. Surprisingly decent food. It’s not crazy good, but good for a small boba place like this. I’ll come back for the braised pork bowl and more.

This restaurant replaced dolphin bay and it’s definitely better. Beef noodle soup — I really enjoyed the noodles. The broth was nice too and the beef was super tender. Pork chop minced rice — One of the best pork chop I’ve ever eaten. Tons of meat and the pork wasn’t too oily like most are. As for the minced rice, I wish it was topped with more meat. Overall, friendly service and great food!

Visited this restaurant with my church friends because its name caught our attention. I am assuming the owner is Christian when the name of the restaurant is referenced to Matthew 14:17 when Jesus performed a miracle by feeding over 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish. Restaurant is nice and clean, and located in a small plaza just slightly pass Nogalas and Colima. We came on a Sunday night and there were plenty of parking spaces available. Superior service by the cute waiter! And yes, he speaks both Mandarin Chinese and English. The menu itself is small and simple, and prices are reasonable. I ordered the sweet potato fries and popcorn chicken as my appetizers and they were great. Also ordered the Beef Noodle Soup. The beef itself was marinated perfectly and was delicious, however, I didn’t like the texture of the noodles. The noodles felt like they were overcooked and soggy. My friends that ordered rice dishes(both Pork Chop Rice and Curry Chicken Rice) also told me that the rice was on the soft/soggy side. Drinks were $ 2.75 each, and you can add additional toppings for $ 0.25 each. I ordered the Boba Milk Tea, and personally think it was a little too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed their appetizers, service and environment, but not their entrée and drink items. But considering that this is a new restaurant, perhaps I will give them another try the next time I am in town. Note: Cash Only

Pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this place. There’s a plethora of Taiwanese restaurants in the area but I think this one is worth the visit. We had the fried pork chop set menu and the black bean noodle and I was a happy camper with both. I really appreciate that the veggies in the set menu are refillable as it is so meat dominant. Tea was solid with the meal and service was great. I don’t think I could expect any more!

I haven’t had a very authentic Taiwanese restaurant for a long time, although I can make on my own but I didn’t have time. This restaurant has very little options on the menu and no veggie dishes which is kinda disappointed. But we had pork chop rice and traditional pork feet– the skin are crispy and not thick, inside meat are juicy just perfect, both of them are very authentic and delicious especially if you grew up in Taipei. We also had traditional Hakka soup– very alike except a little salty and few vegetables in the soup compare to how my grandma would made. If you want something sweet: Hot Mochi– peanut and sugar wrapped around Mochi Ps. We had«to go» at the same time when we ordered, yet when we about to leave the to-go order was not ready. We were in a hurry since we had to go get back to work thus we ordered a To-go earlier. I’d assumed they want the food hot and fresh for us. So next time just let them know ahead of time if you are in the rush like us. It’s rare to find an authentic dish like this in America, so I wholeheartedly support this restaurant and definitely come back again!

I was immediately drawn to the name of this café, and seeing the positive feedback from most Unilocalers made me want to try the food out for myself even more. For me, using the story of Jesus feeding the masses with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish to aptly name the café shows the owner’s belief that no matter how big or small the crowd becomes, they will have enough to provide(well, that’s what I got from it!). Anyway, I made my friends meet me in Rowland Heights for dinner and since they made me choose the restaurant, they couldn’t say no! The place is not too big, with lots of cute and modern decorations. Despite just opening recently, there was a steady stream of customers coming in and out of the restaurant. Apparently this area of Rowland Heights doesn’t have many legit Taiwanese restaurants. The parking is confusing, with spaces marked out for specific stores and certain time limit restrictions on certain spots. But if you come after 6PM, most places are closed, so parking shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. Menu is fairly simple. There’s shaved ice, drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The prices are fairly decent for the quality and quantity of food that we got: Popcorn chicken(appetizer): At $ 4.25, the amount of popcorn chicken that came on the plate was enough to fill all four of us. The breading on the chicken was good, not too powdery or soft. Biting into the chicken, I felt there was a substantial amount of meat in each chicken. And it wasn’t too oily, which was nice. Taiwanese beef noodle soup: This is probably their priciest dish at $ 7.95. I saw pictures of people having the thicker noodles, but I was disappointed that mine was just the regular thin noodles(maybe you have to request thicker noodles?). The broth of the soup was good. It tasted kind of like a tomato beef soup — not too salty or oily. There was a good number of beef chunks in the soup. The noodles were okay, but cooked a bit on the soft side for me. I like my noodles to be chewy, and I felt like these noodles were overcooked by a few minutes. The soup came in a huge bowl, bigger than all of my friends’ dishes, and yet I managed to finish the entire thing. My friends ordered the braised pork with rice($ 6.50) and the black bean pork with noodle($ 6.25). I didn’t eat any of it, but it looked good and my friends said that the dishes tasted okay. Since we live in SGV and have a good number of Taiwanese places around here, the consensus was pretty much that we probably wouldn’t make the trek out to Rowland Heights to eat here unless we were conveniently nearby. For the drinks, I tried the boba milk tea and the green tea(both with less sugar) — and didn’t like them. Definitely have had better boba and tea at other places. The milk tea tasted a bit watered down, and didn’t have enough flavor(perhaps due to the less sugar?), but the green tea tasted more like oolong or mountain tea. The boba was okay, but I wouldn’t pay $ 2.75 for a cup here when I can get better boba elsewhere. tl;dr — Overall, I feel like this is a pretty good Taiwanese eatery for the area. The prices are decent and the food is pretty good. The workers were younger and seemed to have the hang of things as they took orders, served the customers, and cleaned up tables. I’d come back if I was in the area. –Cash only –Free Wi-Fi is offered –There’s a bathroom for customers only

Another super delicious taiwanese beef noodle soup AND pork chop rice restaurant found! The pork chop breading is crispy and not too thick, and the little dishes that come with it are all very good. The lu rou sauce on top of the rice is bomb. The beef noodle soup has a good density to the broth and has that good taiwan flavor. The inside of the restaurant is a lot more modern and hip that the dolphin bay café that used to be at this location. The milk tea is also legit.

We got 4 dishes 2 drinks and it only cost $ 35. The food is good and the quantity is filling and the price is right. I got beef noodle soup and it was big with lots of veggies and meat. The thick noodles were chewy. It was a big salty but real good with the green tea I got. My husband got the braised pork rice and minced pork rice for my little daughter. Both were flavorful and tender. I’d definitely come back. Not only is the service good and fast but the food comes with 3 small side dishes — edemame, seaweed and something else… Atmosphere: it’s a small mom-pop shop with maybe 7 – 8 tables. Not huge place but clean and nice. I think a lot of ppl get to-go. I love supporting small restaurants!

4.5 Star 5 Bread and 2 Fish? At first, I thought this is seafood place or bakery but apparently not. They sell Taiwanese food. Came here because of my friend’s recommendation. This place was really small and empty since it’s new so I assume not many people know about here. You will have to order from the cashier. There was only one person taking care of the order. The food and drink menu does not have many options. We ordered the crispy pork chop rice since its their signature dish. The food was served super fast. I was super impressed by the crispy pork chop. 1. There was literally no bone in my pork chop. 2, skin was super crispy without being too greasy. 3. The meat portion was huge. I think the pork chop here definitely have better value than Remy’s. You get more than what you paid for. It also came with one minced pork rice and three sides. Not only the pork chop, the minced pork rice was huge too. I appreciate that I don’t have to dig the bone out whenever eating pork chop. In this place, every bite of pork is satisfying. I will definitely come back here for their crispy pork chop. I also tried their drink and it was pretty good. I believe it was Oolong green tea with aloe vera. Take 0.5 star because their service was not as great. It was a young man taking care of the order and he just does not look like he wants to be there. Anyway, thumbs up to the best crispy pork chop!

This review is only for the Crispy pork chop rice and it’s a 3.5 Star. We will just round it off here to 4 since the service is always friendly. The pork chop is OK, seasoning is good, but the meat is pretty thin, wish it was a little thicker. The minced pork rice that comes with the pork chop is pretty good and authentic tasting, the only big draw back for me is the side dishes that comes with is a bit boring, just bean sprouts, edemame, and some marinated seaweed in very small portions, have had this dish at other places and they offer something more substantial. Maybe for $ 6.50 this is acceptable.
