Found this place on Unilocal, decided to give it a try and I was happy I did. Got an Almond latte, was hoping to try their food but the Kitchen doesn’t open until 11am, maybe next time. Staff is very friendly, décor is not your typical corner coffee place is more chic and retro.

I wonder what can I say about this place having essentially lived here for so long… Well, I believe that as with every aspiring enterprise, improvements can always be made. I think despite issues with plaza management, the fact that Hide Out has been able to carve out a place for itself is impressive to say the least. Perhaps the café does need more tables and seating, but it’s understandable that they have done what they can with the limited space, yet still make it look hip and not over crowded. As for the staff, everyone is nice, and some of us have even gone rock climbing together! Are they the best baristas ever? No. But they are good, and are willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. Pour over not up to snuff in their taste test? They will re-make it. Not to mention, they are always working on that latte art for your Instagram sharing goodness. Way better stuff than what your local Starbucks serves. By all means not a through review, but I think I touched on a few important points which I hope will contribute to the economy of this wonderful home away from home.

Found this cute little«hideout» place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Came on a Saturday evening after work, and I really wanted to try their latte and matcha green tea chiffon cake/macarons. When I first walked in, it was extremely busy with no open tables. I already knew what I wanted after seeing pics on their Unilocal page, but still took the time to look at their actual menu. Their menu is presented on a clipboard, which is a cute idea, but kind of hard to read. While waiting, I thought I would be able to connect to their wi-fi, but then found out they don’t offer it on weekends. After waiting several minutes, finally got a table. Tried to order the green tea cake/macarons I wanted, but the server kindly mentioned that they no longer offer those treats. bummer. Instead, I ordered the tiramisu latte, guava passion tea, banana nutella waffle, and hashtag fries to share. Drinks were a bit sweet, but I guess I’ll just have to ask for less sugar next time. Food was delicious & tasty. and their waffles were so soft! Overall: –cute and cozy place –delicious coffee/tea/snacks/food –pricing is decent –wi-fi(weekdays only) –restroom available I’d come back for sure on a sunny, lazy, rainy, or my day-off day to hideout at this place!

1) This place is really cramped during evening hours, and they need to install a booth that runs along the wall to create more space and make things more comfortable for their customers 2) Their chairs need cushions and should be sturdier… I’m a Fat Guy so i notice things like this 3) The Ceiling is too high… it feels as if you’re inside a warehouse rather than a café… the only thing missing was a Forklift and a few Pallets 4) The walls should be painted brown… Not blue… Poor color design 5) Overall, the food was great and the prices were reasonable, i would come back one more time :)

This is a perfect spot to study and get stuff done, but it’s often packed during the peak hours, so be aware that you may not find a stop! I’ve been to it many times, and I order different drinks all the time. None of their drinks is disappointing, and you can ask for less sugar. Hashtag fries is beautiful for Instagram but it’s really oily, and it gets gross when it cool down. Waffle fries is a little better but it’s still pretty oily. Its Ramen is real good, my friend orders it every time she goes. I also tried their dry noodles and it’s delicious. I get the Nutella banana waffle whenever I crave for Nutella. Strongly recommend seaweed latte! As one of the reviews says, it’s «interesting and delicious». Also the staff are really friendly.

I stopped by Hide Out Café this past Sunday to study with a friend. The place gets pretty busy but we lucked out with a table near an outlet :) We got the waffle fries and popcorn chicken, which were perfect study snacks for our 4hr shift! My friend ordered the Guava Lemonade which was really refreshing too. The music is a bit on the louder side which may bother some who prefer quieter study environments… but if you’re okay with that definitely check this place out!

What a good find! Thank you Unilocal! This is a spanking new plaza and with lots of parking!!! The café has fantastic drinks and food :) I particularly enjoyed the blueberry milk tea and homemade criss cut French fries. I definitely recommend this place for catch up with friends or school work. Only down side is no wifi…

Pretty expensive. They have raised their prices after seeing reviews and pictures of old ones on Unilocal. The drinks were very good and the waffle cut fries with the egg were soooo good. I loved it. It’s actually pretty filling so you’re good just ordering a drink and the fries for 2 people or maybe 4 people if it’s just a snack. The popcorn chicken sucks. Straight up bland and dry. Don’t order it. Lots of people were studying here. That’s what I was doing. Most people left around 10 so they closed up at 10:30 and asked us to leave when the hours said they close at 11.

I love finding hidden gems and the name says it all. It truly is a «hide out» from the rest of the city’s businesses. Service: I had to come back because apparently they don’t start serving food until 11:30 am. There was no mention on their menu or door. But I didn’t have to wait too long for my savory eats. The cashier was extremely nice and courteous. Food: I ordered the hashtag waffle fries. More than your ordinary fries which was the reason I went. I can only base my experience on those fries but so far I am a fan and hope to be back soon. Overall, the place is cozy and trendy. A photographer’s paradise. The prices are decent as well.

I love their lattes! My favorite is their hazelnut and for milk tea I suggest the tiramisu! Their waffle with banana and Nutella is scrumptious! It isn’t a whole waffle but it’s bite size tear drop shaped put together to make one waffle I believe it comes in a total of 8 or 9 pieces with Nutella, banana chocolate sauce and whip cream on top. Popcorn chicken is also good lightly seasoned so it isn’t to garlicky or salty. Ambience of the place has a vintage motif to it. Makes you feel warm and cozy being that it’s medium to small coffee shop. The great aroma of coffee beans and snacks welcomes you in. Service is good, they’ll make suggestions based on what you are looking to try, food comes out in a timely manner. Would definitely return!

Awesome atmosphere and their hashtag waffles are to die for. My friends and I came here once we reached LA. We were starving from our long drive down. The hashtag waffles were enough to fill us up. The sunny side egg on top was basically a cherry on top. We ordered different milk teas and I got hokkaido milk tea. It had enough tea flavor and enough milk to smooth it out. The lack of eating that day probably prepared me for the night of hyper activeness from the caffeine. My friend also ordered a meat dish and I thought it was decent.

I was looking for coffee shops to try and I bookmarked this place! I was pleasantly surprised when my friend took me here because I wanted to try a new coffee shop because we wanted to grab a coffee/tea. And we ended up here! I like the interior design. The brick walls and the wooden furniture made it felt cozy. They have an extensive menu with a lot of interesting drinks to choose from. What I like about this place is they have unique drinks that you can’t get from other coffee shops such as rose latte, seaweed tea latte, tiramisu latte, black sesame latte, hokkaido milk tea, etc. We got the seaweed tea latte, rose latte and mocha latte. They were all delicious, especially the seaweed tea latte! I really like tea mousse drinks and the seaweed tea latte was that, but they enhanced it by sprinkling some seaweed and sesame on top! Who would have thought that seaweed and sesame will go well with green tea and mousse? I definitely recommend trying the seaweed tea latte there! The rose latte is delicious too. It was fragrant and florally. You get the hint of rose scent with every sip of the rose latte, which is very soothing and delicious. If I lived in LA, this would be a good study spot for me! This place is also great for a coffee date or catching up with a small group of friends!

For the past few months I’ve come here at least once a week. This has become a drink place I go to late at night to meet my friend. I usually get the same drink– osmanthus green tea. I’m a tea enthusiast and I don’t mind paying more for tea. Though, I do think the drinks here are a little overprice for what it is. At around $ 4+ for tea that’s not cool. I’ve gotten plain green tea here that cost me $ 4+…wth… So expensive D: The last few time they haven’t had osmanthus tea so I’ve tried a bunch of drinks, all which have been decent or gross. I’ve even sent a drink back because it tasted so bad. Overall, Hide out is a small hipster joint. The osmanthus tea and a few of the coffee drinks are good. Some drinks are decent and a few just bad.

I like the atmosphere, there’s Free wifi and a decent amount of seating BUT it’s crowded anyways because it’s so popular(Everyone is on their laptop!) One gripe: PRICEY! Drinks are around $ 5 so I can’t make this a go to café —iced soy rose latte: Not bad —B52 milk tea: just okay —wintermelon iced black tea(customized, not on menu): really good! I’ve also had it with green tea but I think I like black better —Winterpresso iced with soy: really tasty but man 24 oz is a lot! Wish it came in smaller size —Banana Nutella waffle which is served with chocolate chip ice cream on top was really good! Crispy waffle but he ice cream wasn’t anything special. Tasted like Breyers NOTE: This is in the pearl plaza by the driving range

This is a wonderful spot to study at! I came here to work on a project with two other group members. I ordered the tiramisu milk tea which was SOCUTE. I have always wanted a drink that looked like a plant :) The top part of the tea was creamy just as a tiramisu cake would be. I shared the #hashtag waffle fries and popcorn chicken with my team. The fries had melted cheese, an egg, and meat on it plus thousand island dressing on the side. I love waffles. I love fries. I love waffle fries!!! I love the atmosphere. It’s quiet for the most part, the workers are very friendly, and the decorations are on point. There’s a typewriter, Polaroid cameras, and other antique-y looking items. If you want your Instagram photo to get a lot of likes, take a picture of your drink here with those items. Like I did. One thing I didn’t like was that outlets aren’t accessible from every table. We had to move to charge our laptops, but it wasn’t a big deal. This place can get packed, so if you want to sit inside I suggest you come early or figure out a time that wouldn’t be too busy. I wouldn’t want to sit outside. Oh, and you order at the cash register. My teammate was sitting asking when they were going to come to her lol.

So I’ve been here a few times and I would say I do enjoy how this Pearl Plaza has a lot of parking spots. I chose this place to have drinks because I really think the name is super creative and different. The inside has high chairs and tables for pairs of two and four. Order your drinks at the register. I didn’t really try anything else but some teas without milk and Americano which tasted all fine to me. Enjoy sitting here and just reading a little while sipping on some drinks. Not a bad place but sometimes it does get busy and the drink might take a little bit longer.

Hide Out is a simple chill café for young people to come and have an afternoon and snack or a quick lunch. Their menus are heavily influenced for teas/coffees. Their food menu is short and sweet. Only a few entrees and a few appetizer/snacks. Even though the menu is short listed, it doesn’t make it any easier trying to decide on what to order. I’ve tried their dry noodle, popcorn chicken, basil sauteed chicken entrée. Everything were made well, flavors are there. The only bad is that they’re too greasy. Everything was a bit too greasy. Even the side veggie dishes. I do love their seaweed tea latte. I’m hooked on it. It’s one of those things that either you love or you hate. If you haven’t tried it, please please get this. I’m in love with it. Salted cream green tea with some of those seaweed(the Japanese/Taiwanese seaweed that you sprinkle on rice) sprinkled all on top. It’s simple and random but such a lovely combination.

One of my former favorite places for milk tea, Tea Lane, has transformed into the hip Hide Out café at the newish Pearl Plaza located on Nogales right next to the 60 Freeway. The change has been good and this business has remained my favorite place to go to in the area if I want something to drink. Quite possibly the most hipsterish(i.e. wooden tables and old cameras as décor) tea establishment in Rowland Heights and anywhere around, Tea Lane also doubles as a great place to get coffee, serving some solid brews from Intelligensia. But being that this is Rowland, I do go here to get my unhealthy cravings of the Hokkaido Milk Tea satisfied as well as some healthier MOP iced tea when I want something lighter. Like any decent tea/coffee place in Rowland, drinks usually go between 3 – 6 bucks. This place also serves up awesome snacks and I would say my guilty pleasure regarding that would be the cheesy tater tots. Other than that, I’ve only had the dry noodles(not worth it for the price) and the banana waffles(worth it but share it with someone). There’s usually plenty of parking around the plaza unless you’re one of those damn rich kids with the $ 80K cars you’ll always see at the valet spots.

Unilocal Challenge 2015191⁄365 Cool little spot located in a little 2 story plaza nestled between a few resturants in the 626. Lots of fancy cars in the lot from Porches, Lamborghinis, Rolls Royce, ect. If you see the line up, you know your there. Serving up coffes, deserts, and small bites perfect for a late night treat. Very limited seating. especially with larger groups. Came here with a party of 5 around 9:30 pm and pushed a couple of tables together in the back corner. Service is okay. Nothing to friendly. Order at the counter and they bring it over to you. We came here to hang out, while enjoying a sweet treat with good company. The Double shot expresso was packed and pulled by hand on their fancy old school machine. Crafted by hand, topped with a flower. Expresso was smooth, with a hint of carmael undertones. Very good. The Afagato with 2 packs of sugar, yea I added a little sugar to the side for the hubsters to impress his sweet tooth. Surprisingly he really liked the expresso over vanilla ice cream treat. Macaroons were okay. Probally good if you like to eat them. To me they were a little chewy. Our soon to be Unilocaler friends shared a sundae topped with churros filled with cream. They said it was good. Their Iced mocha drinks looked weak to me. Ramen noodles and and funnel fries were a hit to our friend who missed dinner. #676
