Came on a Tuesday afternoon 1:30 before their afternoon temp. closure began(2:30−5:00pm) there was one table there already and a few minutes later 4 more tables filled up. There’s only one waiter, but hr managed to serve all tables pretty well. He was courteous and attentive. He made sure our water glasses are filled at all times and he gave us extra napkins to wipe off sweats and noses. Food: delicious. We got medium level spicy and it is like high level spicy at other restaurants like spicy city. Their spicy taste is different than those Sichuan spicy tastes. Sichuan taste is not as spicy but numbing. HuNan or Xiang style dishes are SPICY ! Unlike Sichuan taste, the dishes are similar in herbs and spicies, plus the numbing peppercorns they used, after a few bites you can’t taste anything else qnd all food taste similar. HuNan taste from Stew House is very aromatic. Spicy, but each dish taste differently with different peppers. There are green peppers, dried red peppers, marinated peppers etc. And the herbs they used are very fresh so tgr special aroma can be created. We(2ppl) ordered 3 dish and rice~ so full(and left overs for another meal for two). A little under $ 35 for thr meal, tip included Fish filet with sour cabbage — delicious! Thr raw garlic added on top really gives a kick to my happy tongue. Shredded sour cabbage is definitely fit for this dish. It helps to take the heat off. Marinated pork ribs — so tender! Meat can be easily pulled off and elders can take this on without any problem. The sauce they used reminded me of the childhood chili sauce. Sweet and spicy. White pepper stir fry gizzard — white pepper is the marinated peppers. A little sour, but it is the aroma that made this dish very popular. Gizzard is chickens stomach. Very well cleaned and since it is all muscle, it’s naturally a bit tough to chew, but it is so good. I just wish they had sake to go with it. Leek and other green chili peppers are used in this as well. Um… um… gooood Free spiced spicy peanut(on the sweeter side) Rice is additional $ 1.50 per person(unlimited refill) I can’t wait to come back with a large group so i can try other dishes!

One of my fav restaurants to crave for the hunan chilly food. Special red pepper fish red is the most original I have ever had in USA. I will absolutely recommend this.

While deciding which restaurant to eat at in this two year old plaza, my boy friend and i were welcomed by a waiter Leo in front of the stew house! Leo’s warm welcome instantly lured us to try The Hunan style food that lay waiting within! First, leo brought us the best homemade peanuts a human can devour. Secondly, we ordered the cilantro beef dish for $ 11.95. MAN it was one of the best beef dishes we have ever tried! The perfect amount of tenderness & a generous helping of cilantro & green peppers made it simply delicious! There is no doubt that i’ll be back here because of their excellent service, tasty dishes & clean/simple atmosphere! As a plus, there was no wait on a saturday night! Way to go, stew house! You’ve officially won me over :)

We ordered dry pot Tenderloin, sautéed string bean eggplant, shredded pork vermicelli, and it was TASTY!!! Service was really good! They even put sliced lemon in ice water. Really enjoy business who pay attention to little details.

This place is super good for spicy food lovers. Ever since they started Hunan style dishes. Yes not hotpot stew pot, but cauliflowers, pork and chillies, fish and pig feet etc everything taste so flavorful with rice. I’m definitely a regular here!

Ever since they started to serve some authentic hu nan cuisine I’ve been addicted and coming here every week! Recommendations/must try: Fish head with chopped chili Cauliflower Hot and sour pig kidney Some ingredients may sound intimidating, but if you are looking for some true Chinese flavors you have to go bold! And service is quick and nice!

Really needed some hot pot, so I came here with some friends to get our fix. The dishes are delicious, fresh veggies and excellent service. Bathroom is very clean, and everything feels new. I overheard the owner that they only use organic ingredients, which is a huge plus! Will be back!

Had the stew pot… it’s not bad… the special sauce tasted like spicy beef noodle soup base. their pot sticker was actually pretty good, I believe it’s handmade because the skin is very soft. overall it’s ok, but with the price that they are charging, don’t think it will last too long.

I’m not sure why people are hating on this place. It is an interesting concept and different kind of Chinese food. First, you stew your food… it’s neat how it stews on the table. Good time for conversation and and snacks. Once the pot is ready, it’s time to eat. Flavors are good and meld into the veggies. The meats are tasty, and it should get better once they have more variety of pots. Then comes the hot pot with good broth. Cool idea for two types of eating styles in one sitting! The winter melon tea is awesome! Service is attentive and they’re open to suggestions. Give this place a chance… it’s finding its own identity right now!

This place sucks and is overpriced. You start off with a base pot of $ 26.99 that comes with cabbage, potato, celery, and carrots. They steam it with butter and sauce. You then get to choose 3 items from their list. We got catfish, beef tendon, and mushrooms. Keep in mind catfish is an extra $ 2 and it was not fillet styled, but with all the bones intact. If this is supposed to be a «hot pot» style restaurant i would have expected it deboned… Regardless all this is cooked together and steamed. Nothing special at all. I might as well throw things together at home. Will not be coming back…

This place is suck!!! Can not even get full to spend $ 25 each person. All vegetable no meat. But maybe it’s good for vegan people. Really suck place, never gonna come back again.
