Cash Only The quality of the dim sum is almost as bad as the attitudes of the workers. If you don’t quickly shout your orders after waiting in confusing 4 column line, you’ll be greeted with apathy and annoyance from the cashier. Siu Mai(steamed pork and shrimp dumplings) — Chunks of fat and tendon were part of the mix. The skin was falling apart and the shrimp were chewy. Gross. Har Gow(crystal shrimp dumpling) — Not bad in flavor, but the skin was falling apart and despite eating one as we walked out with our purchase, it was luke warm. Ham Sui Gok(Deep fried glutinous rice ball with filling) — Way too much doughy wrapping. The filling also had chunks of fat. Overall, despite being quick, I’d rather go down the street and order togo from New Capital or Happy Harbor.

We like the pork chop, fried rice, tofu, eggplant dish, and the fried(flat) fish. Its a struggle if you don’t speak Chinese when you’re asking questions but we like what they sell.

Bought some sweet pastries from here. Bit into it and noticed a strange taste. There was a used cigarette filter in the pastry. Completely disgusting. Bought it during lunch on 5⁄24. If you bought their sweet pastries that day it was likely to have been contaminated by it. Threw them all away.

It’s like a BBQ and Dim Sum place all in one! This place literally is Food To Go, hence the name. It’s cash only, like every other Chinese place. I came by during lunch time on a weekend. There are three lines, each one for a specific section. I came for dim sum, and not being a Chinese speaker, was a little wary about not being able to communicate with the workers. Thankfully, ordering was a breeze and I was in and out in basically five minutes! I ordered chicken feet, two shumais, two hak gaos, and one beef rice roll. Weekday prices are at $ 2.08(weekends $ 2.38, I think?). My total was about ~$ 14. Personally, I would come back again if I am craving some dim sum and it’s totally past dim sum times.

This Chinese food to go has the cheapest fried rice or wide lo mein noodles and pick 2 or 3 entrees. The portions are plentiful that you can share with one or more people or save and eat later. I usually double or triple on one selection as I’m not interested in most of their offerings. A caveat emptor before ordering their«combo» is you may want to check if there are containers of soup and white paper bags with 2 small egg rolls left at the cashier. Otherwise, you’ll be paying the full $ 4.50($ 4.91 tax total) and not getting your full money’s worth. Depending on your outlook– That’s disappointing they don’t discount that $ 4.50 if they’re out or they’re limited bonuses for nothing extra.

Coming from the Inland Empire, there is a huge gap when it comes to getting my Dim Sum fix. Lucky for me, this place isn’t too far and it saves me from driving out to SGV to satisfy my cravings. To the review… Food: Solid 3.5÷4 stars. If you’re lucky enough to get there when they bring out a fresh batch, it would be comparable to some of the better places around the area. Earlier you come the better. Price: Dim Sum is $ 2.38 per order. The meats are priced by the pound. And the steam tray combos are less than $ 5 for a two item if I recall. Customer service: Unless you speak Chinese, just point, pay for your food(cash only) and leave. NOTE: Some of the customers can be a little aggressive at times. Watch for line cutters. Overall, this is my spot for fast Dim Sum. Can’t beat the combination of price and taste. If you just want to satisfy your Dim Sum fix and don’t want the extras, you can’t go wrong with this place. That’s all for now. Until next time… Happy Unilocaling!

Great place to just pick up something quick for a meal. Cook up some rice at home and order out a few dish. Extremely cheap! Super authentic feel for a Chinese place.

I grew up eating this stuff in L.A. Chinatown every Sunday. It was like a having a reward for working hard all week. This is traditional Chinese Dim Sum food. To have a take out to go place like this nearby is the bomb! This is the only one in Rowland Heights area. The Custard tarts, Ha-gow, paper wrap steam rice, egg rolls and a whole lot other stuff that I don’t know the names of are sold here in this little side store. I think most of the ladies that work here immagrated from China like my mother did. They don’t speak very good English so when I order I just point to what I want and they put it in the container. One order means three pieces so if you ask for three you’ll get nine pieces. The food is good and the prices are reasonable because they want your return business and don’t want to lose you as a customer. This is food from the old country, it’s not American Chinese food like Panda if you know what I mean. Really lucky to have a kitchen that still makes and sells this stuff.

This place is cheap and good! I come here for the hot food/lunch items, dim sum, duck and pork. The store IS tiny, and yes, it looks a little gross. But the food is good and it’s made by the chefs at the restaurant next door, and I’ve never gotten sick from eating here. For the hot food items, I would recommend the big box to get your money’s worth. You get so much more for the price. Some foods might be a little greasy, so just keep and eye out when you order. Dim sum is great! Portions are big, and it’s cheap, especially on weekdays! I love the preserved egg and pork porridge, and I believe if you come after like 3 or something’s it’s BOGO free! The workers here work fast. They won’t have time for all your questions if you’re not familiar with the system, so bring someone who does :) Cash only!

3.5 stars. I love this little to-go spot. Dim sum for $ 2.38 per order on the weekend, slightly lower price during the week. It’s cheap and it’s fast, so don’t expect mind-blowing dim sum. However, the food is good, and it’s conveniently located off the 60 freeway. I haven’t tried any of the other food they offer(chicken, duck, pork by the pound or the rice, veggie, and meat dishes in the hot trays), but the dim sum has never let me down. I love that it’s walking distance to the driving range and I’ll usually pick up an order or two to snack on while I hit a bucket of balls. Food To Go is also the perfect place to pick up munchies for your next road trip.

SERVESDIMSUMTIL6PM!!! Food is good. Food is cheap. And YES you read the above statement correctly… They DO serve dimsum til 6pm! That makes me a fan for sure! Had this place cater for us one time and everyone enjoyed the food… You KNOW I enjoyed it too! Service: Not bad. Parking: Asian parking lot. So you know the deal. Park crooked, run stop signs… Be alert! lol. Will I be back? HELLYEAH! This will be my go to spot for dimsum!

Can I get some clarification on this place… is this the takeout side for«Seafood Village Rowland Heights» which is next door? Anyways, what was I thinking. Food to Go’s specialty seem to be dim sum items, and guess what I don’t order? Yes, I was not feeling dim sum on this Sunday and wanted veggies, noodles and other non dim sum items. I have never experienced eating Chinese food where I didn’t want to eat it. Well, I ordered some noodles and bean sprouts, fried tofu, Buddha’s Feast, and what I thought was squash or cucumbers with pork. So, I get to my car and open up my tray, it looked soooo good, jam packed and all. I was starving and ate quickly but noticed an overall unfamiliar bitter taste. I couldn’t figure it out. What I thought was squash or cucumbers were bitter melons! This was my first introduction to bitter melon, I discovered a fruit that I had no love for(rude and BITTER awakening — hehe). Uggghhh… gag. What made it worse was that the juices from the bitter melon made everything taste bitter and got stronger as I tried to finish the tray. I did the best that I could to drown out the bitterness with the hot/soy sauce packets. I actually ate most of the food. After, I told an acquaintance that eats bitter melon on a regular basis, she said there were many benefits from eating it. I looked it up, yes, she was right.

When five extra guests RSVP to my son’s birthday party the night before it stressed me out! I had already ordered all the food accordingly. A guy friend from high school had told me that his family likes to go to Seafood Village for Dim Sum(they live in Walnut) and this place«Food To Go» is the takeout part of that restaurant ! I got egg tarts, char siu bao’s, pork and leek bao’s(the type that is pan fried @ the bottom), chinese sausage bao’s. shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice noodles, and beef rice noodles. 29 orders for $ 75 and some change! Each item was $ 2.38 and my family was excited when I told them I would take them here next time. * Cash only and parking can be hard to find since they share the lot with a market and the restaurant.

$$CASHONLY$$ This place is okay. Kinda like a Panda Express if Panda Express served real non-Americanized Asian food. Prices are pretty cheap. Hot-tray dishes are just okay, imo. Quick and easy food!

Not the best dim sum in the world, but I’m simple to please. I’m just happy they have beef cheong fun and egg tarts. The line is kind of hectic. actually there is no line, more like multiple lines. I got a rude look from one of the customers because he thought he got there before I did… uh no sir, I’m usually polite, but not when I’m hella starving. Prices are decent(around $ 2 – 3, i forget, each dish). Parking can get crazy. I just park at the golf place /country club, whatever it is, nearby. Just got to be quick about it because you don’t want your car to get towed… I’ll definitely be back to satisfy my dim sum cravings.

Cheap dim sum! First off I knew it was good when I totally do not look chinese and they try to speak to me in chinese. Its even better when they were rude and looked pissed off that I dont understand. This means authenthic to mean. So first off we got like 7 orders of dimsum(4 peices each) for 12 dollars. Bomb breakfast for cheap. I wish I found this place when I actually lived in the area. Definately go here in the morning. The food was really good.

What food to go? No, just Food to Go. That’s the name of the restaurant. Located next door to T S Emporium in Rowland Heights, this little shop is literally a hole in the wall. We noticed it one day looking for C’s thermos options at T S Emporium and decided to try it sometime. So after church one day, we headed over to grab some dim sum. Hubby’s Chinese is almost nonexistent, but I made him order anyways because I was busy feeding R in the van. He’s usually a little terrified of ordering in Chinese, but he was able to. You’ll be better off telling the staff what you want, although there was one person who spoke limited English there when he went. I had taken a peek inside the place the first time we went by, and they sell Chinese BBQ items also, like a Sam Woo’s. But I was interested in the take out dim sum because I’ve been on the hunt for cheap places around my area to buy it. For $ 11.40($ 2.80 each dish), we got 8 siu mai(pork dumplings), dan tart(egg custards), 4 har gow(shrimp dumplings), and 4 char siu baos(BBQ pork buns). I can’t remember how many dan tart they gave us, but I think it was the three as shown in the photo. Yes we ate a few before I was able to take a photo. Shame on… uh the kids? Alright, I had some too. The char siu bao filling was quite pasty and was not too great, but it wasn’t that bad either. The har gow was good, and the siu mai also with its really chunky shrimps mixed in with the pork. The dan tarts were soggy but edible. Can’t expect much for cheap dim sum, and I’ve had so much better in the Alhambra area, but I’m just happy I found something around here. We came back on a different day and they were out of the siu mai and har gow at around one, so come early. On that day, we got chicken baos and sesame balls, and again those were just average. More photos on my blog.
