Don’t let the store front turn you away, this is seriously the best dan dan mien! The menu is small but everything from the beef noodle to the spicy wontons are all delicious. The cold bean noodle is best on a hot summer day. It’s Sichuan flavor so it can be a little spicy. Typically I can’t handle Sichuan spice without sweating profusely and turning red as a tomato but the level of spiciness is just right. The chili oil is also very good. It’s a small mom and pop shop with no indoor seating. Usually they deliver the food to your table outside but during peak hours, things can be really slow. Sometimes it’s only one guy running the whole restaurant! Better to just wait by the counter for your order. Store is really dingy but haven’t had any problems yet. Cash only. Tip: if you’re a messy eater, don’t wear light colors or bring a Tide pen.

My favorite place for Sichuan food since 2012!!! For me, no noodles I tried anywhere else an can compare to their Sichuan spicy noodles. And their Sichuan hot pot is also amazing!!! Definitely wish they were closer to Irvine though…

I definitely agree that this noodle bar is NO. 1! I tried their Dan Dan Mien and after eating there I ain’t trying any other places that serves dan dan noodles. Their food comes out piping hot and fast(around 5 – 10 mins wait). The owner and cooks are from Sichuan. FYI Sichuan foods are known for its spiciness. Ughh I LOVE Sichuan food because it gives me an accomplishing feeling after I eat it. If you don’t eat spicy food, you could definitely ask for non-spicy! BUT I highly recommend even mild spice. It’s just different without the chili sauce. Their sauce has minced pork bits and PEANUTS. So if you’re allergic to peanuts, my condolences. Noodles are perfect sauce to noodle ratio so your noodles won’t be lacking flavor after you mix it.

The Dan Dan noodles here are still incredible! The cold noodles are also delicious as well. The prices are extremely reasonable. It seems ownership may have changed since they no longer have cups of water available and the spicy wontons we used to order are prepared differently now, and not quite as good as before. However, I don’t mind cause I love the noodles! Tip: CASHONLY. On a Saturday night, the outside plaza projected the Clippers game on two large projectors, which was nice.

This place is seriously a hidden gem. It’s literally hidden in the corner and the food are just gems. They serve one of the best dan-dan noodles in Rowland area. I usually get the small and the sauce is super flavorful. The small cost about $ 5.50. I also get the small spicy wontons. It has about 10 pieces in it and it cost about $ 5. Those two are my go-to picks when I go to to this place. They also have good beef noodle soup and cold noodles depending on what you feeling that day. You just can’t go wrong here if you want a quick taste of some Taiwanese food for cheap in Rowland.

It wasn’t my idea to come eat here, but I decided to give it a try since I heard good things about it, but boy, do I regret it. I ordered the spicy wonton, and my boyfriend had the beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup was okay. Nothing special, a bit oily, but overall okay. My spicy wontons were so oily that my stomach started to feel funny halfway through our meal. I couldn’t even finish it. Unless you like drinking oil, I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Good: Fast service & authentic Hong Kong flavor. Popular place for first generation Chinese. Bad: tables are WAY too close together & it’s AUTHENTIC Hong Kong flavor(i.e. Not a place I recommend for Americans who have not visited Asia)

Best noodle place in rowland heights and irvine. Fresh chicken and perfectly cooked noodles. A rarity in this Chinese city full of left over frozen food left in the fridge for too long that taste stale after they cook it.

I ordered the Beef noodle soup and the beef was lacking in quality. Majority was full of fat. Also, I had to drive back to get my MISSING noodles after realizing they did not give me the noodles to go with the beef soup. I think they should first have everything ready, then put it on the table to-go as people will think it’s ready. I did like their Dan Dan noodles but it was an easier recipe to make, so much can’t go wrong with that. Pictures attached of the beef.

Good food, inflating prices and nonexistent service. Don’t expect to get a cup of water or a friendly disposition from the owner/cashier cause I’ve never seen her in a good mood. I definitely keep coming back though because you can’t beat flavor and spice. Word of advice, upgrading to large is a good deal so think about splitting a couple of those instead.

The flavor is actually not bad. When it comes to seating, it’s a little awkward. Good place to get food to go. Located in the same plaza as Banana bay, it’s tucked all the way in the corner. If you didn’t use Unilocal or walked around there, you would probably have never known that this place existed. Super hole in the way, literately. Been here maybe 2 or 3 times only. Never had been disappointed. The dan dan mian was pretty good, the spicy boiled fish was also quite decent. I can’t remember what it is exactly that I’ve ordered from here. But most of the things I got here were pretty spot on as far as Sichuan flavor goes. Here’s the weird thing if you want to dine in. They share an outside patio space with the surrounding shops. So if you would just order over the counter, they’ll bring it out to you. Or if it’s too hot or cold outside or you just want to be inside, they share the space with boba shop next door. You kinda just find a seat and they’ll bring your food over. Quite weird, but it works. Saves you some tip money for sure.

My usual spot to fulfill my dan dan mien cravings for the past 5 or so years. Located in the corner of Yes Plaza. Private parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. Food: Their dan dan mien is my favorite out of all the places I’ve tried. Sometimes, it’s more«watery/soupy» and sometimes it’s more dry so it’s not always consistent, but yummy nonetheless. I prefer a more dry dan dan mien. You gotta eat it fresh! Can’t wait too long, otherwise the noodles get too sticky and over cooked and I’m a picky texture person when it comes to my food(yes, I’m THAT girl). I have also tried their beef noodle soup and wontons and cold seaweed. Everything is so good and you can ask for mild, medium or hot(spiciness levels). Pricing: Prices have gone up significantly since the first time I used to come here. I remember a small dan dan used to be around $ 4 just yesterday I paid close to $ 7 for a SMALL! I remember paying maybe $ 7 – 8 for the large bowl… Unless the lady there ripped me off, I’m not sure…(minus 1 star) Shared open seating indoor and outdoor. Shares with other little stores inside that space(honeymee and jungle tea bar) Note: **Do not order to-go! It just doesn’t taste the same.** **No outside food or drink allowed. They scolded me for this once –_– I think it’s a stupid rule, but whatever~**

I was scared to eat at this joint. Hidden between some chicken place and corner store, I was a bit intrigued. Once I entered the place, I was transported into a new world. The small front counter to my front and a dark alley way to my right leading to the dining area was all unexpected. The restaurant dining area, which seemed to have been shared with others was scattered with random stuffed animal claw machines. I put all the weird behind me as I was excited to try the noodle, the«#1″ noodle. I proceeded to order. I ordered the dan dan noodle, their most popular item on the menu. The sauce was similar to a peanut sauce. The minced meat on top was delicious as it was tender and flavorful. The green onions gave it a nice robustness and the peanutes gave it a nice crunch. This dish was new to me, and I liked it. The noodles were nicely cooked, not over done. The bowl was a bit small though, so I ordered a meat dish. The sliced pork was interesting. The pork meat, which I assume was boiled, was cut waffer thin. Sitting atop a mound of sprouts, it was topped with chili oil, hoisin, scallions, and peanuts. The whole dish was tasty, but I couldn’t get over hot cold the pork was, as it was intended to be served that way. Nonetheless, it was still tasty with my noodle dish. Their beef noodle soup was very hearty and delicious. The beef was amazing — eating it off the bone was a great experience. The broth was a bit spicy and a little sour. It was perfect for a cold day with a sore throat. Fatty from the beef, a nice layer of bright red grease sat atop the bowl. The noodles were cooked nicely in this dish and the addition of spinach finished it off perfectly. This was a great soup based noodle dish. Yeah, I was scared of this place for a bit, and probably still might be. The cooking is old school and the spot is very grungy. The dining area, though remodeled some what, seemed out of place. Oddly, all that didn’t matter. The food was as authentic as it could be. That’s all that matters I guess from a Number 1 noodle restaurant.

I swear, I can never have high expectations. I waited 55 minutes for my food. I only ordered 2 noodles, which usually take at MOST10 minutes. I was standing here and waiting and the lady just stared at me… until I approached her and she was like«i’ll rush your order». She did not. The chef came out 2 times and then wondered why I was still standing there. I told him I was still waiting for my noodles… and then FINALLY they started making it. So basically they forgot about my order… when people who came in 40 minutes after me have gotten their food. That was just frustrating and irritable. I’m standing literally 2 feet in front of the cashier, and they forgot my food? Don’t think I want to come back.

This place is a cute mom & pop noodle house in the Yes Plaza in Rowland Heights that has noodles that was simply tasty and affordable. We had their dan dan noodles which I never had before. It had a peanut sauce with pickled radish and ground pork. Delicious! The next dish I was craving for was the wonton with spicy sauce(similar to DinTaiFung) and this was also my favorite. Overall, if you are looking for a noodle house this is the one! :) Great for — their tasty noodle dishes — affordable prices Service –was long since one person was taking orders, waiting on tables, and cleaning. –cash only

I only got to sample the spicy beef noodle soup … but it was errrmazing. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the beef was tender, the cabbage was well marinated and it was just the right amount of spicy(medium). Once you order(cash only) find a seat outside and they deliver right to your table. But let it be noted … You don’t come here for the service, you come for the kickass noodles. The place is small and has literally 2 people working … I think they deserve a break! I read a few reviews about the tables outside being left with dirty dishes and trash — I think the real blame should be directed at those that don’t clean up after themselves. Not to mention, the restaurant shares the common outdoor space with quite a few other businesses. I crave it on the regular … my new favorite noodle spot!

=* CASHONLY *= I’m a total noodle lover and I just love their dan dan noodles here! So what are dan dan noodles? They originally came from the Chinese Sichuan cuisine, in which the noodles are served with minced pork, scallions and a variety of sauces whether it may be chili oil, Sesame paste or peanut butter. Sounds good, eh? =) 1. Dan dan noodles — I love the peanut sauce. Absolutely delicious! Slurpy goodness all over! The minced pork was flavorful, albeit a bit on the salty side for me. However, I loved the texture of the noodles and the flavor of the sauce.(5⁄5) 2. Beef noodle soup –I thought the broth was all right, but my bf enjoyed it. The beef was soft and flavorful and the noodles were good too.(4⁄5) Once you finish ordering at the front, the lady will give you a number card. You can take it with you and set it on one of the patio tables outside. I recommend bringing napkins since some of the tables can be quite dirty and sticky =/But other than that, the noodles are absolutely worth coming here to try out!

This is always a good hole-in-the-wall place if you’re craving noodles! It’s located in the corner of Yes Plaza(yea that’s the actual name… haha) with other businesses-it’s a food court based place where you order and sit either inside or outside. They only have a few menu items which are all pictured and labeled above the cashier. The first five(from the left) are their most popular. Their spicy wontons might be pricy(about 6 – 7 wontons), but they’re yummy! My favorite order is the Don Don noodles! It can come super spicy and they’re made fresh-also definitely enough to share! Their cold noodles are also yummy and easy to finish with one portion. They don’t have prices on their menu but everything is about $ 6 – 8.
