I have been to this establishment a little over 10 times. If you need cheap, healthy food in a pinch, its is great and convenient. I usually just order for pick-up(which ready in about 10 mins). I’ll run in while someone else waits in the car so there is no need to park. All the workers and the owner are very nice and helpful. I recommend their steamed fish dumplings, steamed veggie dumplings and wonton soup. The fish dumplings are delicious while the veggie dumplings are great for when you’re watching your weight. Their wonton soup has a lot of vegetables and is great if you’re feeling a little other the weather. All and all, is it the best dumplings and wonton soup in Rowland? Probably not. But it is cheap, quick, and healthy(as long as you don’t order anything fried).

So far I’ve tried the Beef Rolls, Onion Pancakes, Won Ton Soup(it’s a big portion!), and Combination Plate. I wouldn’t get the last two again because it’s pretty standard and you can get those anywhere. The Combination Plate was just a bunch of stir fried veggies. It’s a bit mushy as leftovers, so I didn’t like it too much. I absolutely loved the Beef Rolls and Onion Pancakes! They give you the dipping sauce(House Chicken Sauce?) which goes so well with these two dishes. I can’t wait to come back to try what they’re famous for: the chicken! The customer service is so good here too. They were very attentive and patient when I had told them it was my first time trying it. I was very happy with this find and I will keep coming back! :)

Came right when it opened on a Sunday, we were the first customer, I am liking the cleanliness of this little restaurant, the guy that greeted us was friendly and very helpful with the menu . We ordered the house special chicken, green onion pancake, cold noodles and the pot stickers. 1.Green onion pancake– 5⁄5 perfectly crispy when you bite into it it’s mushy on the inside and perfectly seasoned(salt in this case– 2. House special chicken — 5⁄5 chicken is tender and flavorful(very garlicky, with a bit of sweet and sour taste) and I love the crispy cucumber on the bottom. 3. Pot stickers — 2⁄5 they are a bit small and the filling is tiny, so when cooked you get a flat pot sticker like a deflated balloon without much inside, the flavor is mediocre and bland. I definitely had better pot stickers else where. 4. Cold noodles — 4⁄5 the noodle itself tasted fresh and chewy which is to my liking, the sauce is tangy and tasty, over all this is something I will get again. I give it 3.5 stars for the food and with the friendly service over all I give it 4 stars, will come back again.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - ESSENTIALTIPS&EXECUTIVESUMMARY: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – # Parking in this shopping plaza is a nightmare on weekends. Weeknights are bearable however you’ll still be looking for parking. It’s not worth the stress coming just for this place. The plaza has way too many restaurants and its lot can’t handle all of those customers. Easy Earthen is better if you want to grab a cheap snack /meal along your route. I’d never seek this place out unless it was convenient for me. # EDIT: A Unilocaler reminded me that there is a parking structure on the other side of the shopping plaza next to the medical building. I completely forgot about that because it’s been so long since I got my vaccinations from the doctor inside that building. But if you can’t find parking in the structure either, then my original # point stands and you will say @#%$! # Easy Earthen is one or two doors down from Bambu Drinks and Bulgogi House. # The food is good, clean, and simple Chinese food. Paired with cheap prices, I really have no complaints. It’s just that the dishes I ordered are not the very best or next best in their class. Definitely better than average which makes it one of those rare instances, I really really want to give them 3.5 stars rather than a 3. # I feel like this place belongs in a Chinese food court renting a small booth inside instead of its standalone restaurant. Food is served in black plastic boxes and water /tea is served in a styrofoam cup. Nothing inherently wrong with this. It just really reminds me of dining inside a food court. # I haven’t tried the beef noodles yet and I think that’s one of their popular dishes. So if you’re feeling noodles get that and let me know how it is. I tried 3 of their other popular items and rated them: beef roll(3.5 stars), green onion pancake(3.5 stars), cold noodles(3 stars) # Eating alone? Get one main entrée. Getting 2 entrees will be bordering too much food. This restaurant is better for 2 or more people so you can share. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – MYEXPERIENCE: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – When I first rolled on by on a weekend night, I couldn’t believe how bad the parking was. It was one of the worst I’ve ever witnessed and definitely the worst I’ve experienced in Rowland Heights. At least the other shopping plazas are giant. This plaza acts like it is when it’s not. That’s the fault of the landlord and his management. Anyways, specifics about the food. Cold noodles weren’t that great. I don’t recommend this dish unless you absolutely know you enjoy cold noodles. Nothing bad about the dish except it was bland despite the array of colors. The bad thing was that the cold noodles really really reminded me of Asian airline food on an international flight to Asia. My thoughts were only reinforced when it was served in a smooth, shiny, and black plastic container like the airlines do. Otherwise, it’s really cheap to purchase at $ 5 Beef rolls were decent. My «beef» with the rolls was the thickness of the roll itself and how I found that to be the dominant taste. The inside filling has no hoisin sauce, only chopped green onions and cilantro accompanied by thin slices of Chinese cold-dish style beef. If you’re okay with an okay dish, getting this will be fine. It’ll fill you up for $ 6.50. One thing not to do is to expect it to taste like 101 Noodle Express or Peking Restaurant’s flakey and delectable beef rolls. Green onion pancake had a lighter, crispier taste and crunch I haven’t really seen from typical pancakes. It looked different from your typical light brown pancake. It was golden brown all around like it was flash deep-fried. Taste is similar to your traditional pancake with a lighter crisp to it, but I prefer the old-fashioned pancake more. Easy Earthen is a solid choice if you don’t want to hang out at a restaurant all night and talk. Treat this place like its own food court stall and imagine the tables turning over with people coming in and out. If you’re okay with something quick and don’t want to linger too long, it’s worth trying it. Remember to come when its convenient and when parking isn’t so bad. I only tolerate really bad parking when I’m eating at a nicer restaurant. Easy Earthen isn’t tasty enough for me to go out of my way when you have other restaurants to select from with better parking.

Nice small little restaurant with a similar menu as Earthen. Here, dishes are served in plastic containers, which makes it easy to pack for to-go. And there will be leftovers because it is so easy to overorder. I tried the potstickers, green onion pancake, house chicken, and the beef roll. Everything was delicious! My only complaint would be about the potstickers. Since they were crammed into the plastic container, the bottom of the potstickers became soggy since they were soaking in the soup. The house chicken is a must try if you haven’t tried it before. It is a cold plate of chicken on a bed of refreshing cucumbers. The sauce is so good, but it will leave you with garlic breath!

This place was the top result for nearby on Unilocal,so we decided to try it since we wanted something light and quick. Small location, but adds to the unique ambiance. Really friendly staff, the cashier seemed like the owner since he brought out the food and took the orders. Very polite and even gave us steamed buns for free! Ordered the ONIONPANCAKE($ 3), BEEFNOODLESOUP($ 5), and the HOUSE CHICKEN-Large($ 11), which were all recommended. I couldn’t believe the prices for these dishes and when the food came out, the portions were a lot bigger than I thought they would be. Definitely the most bang for your buck! Onion Pancake($ 3) — Really crispy and goes well with the chili sauce they provide. Comes out hot and fresh, must try! Beef Noodle Soup($ 5) — Not too much flavor at first, but they have sauces on the side to add flavor to it. The meat is tender, and a good amount for the size of the dish. House Chicken-Large($ 11) — Cold chicken with a few vinegar cucumbers to compliment it. The sauce is the highlight of this dish, and the taste of the garlic is strong! Very tender and moist, definitely represents the«House» title. The perfect place for a quick and light meal!

Food: I ordered the onion pancake and cold noodles. Both were okay. The onion pancake taste better with the special sauce(beware — the sauce makes your breath smell~). The cold noodle was good, I like how it had peanut sauce with some type of sweet soy sauce. Food rating: 4⁄5 Service: I ordered take out. Service rating: N/A Price: Expect to pay under $ 10 for your entrée/plate. Overall: In terms of food, it was pretty decent. I may want to try out other items on their menu.

This is definitely NOT a 4 stars restaurant. Came here for dinner with high hope of good Taiwanese food, but I was disappointed. I would suggest to order the appetizers and skip the actual entres. We had the marinated chicken w/cucumber and the green onion pancake for appetizer. Both were not bad, but not amazing either. For entres, I ordered the beed noodle soup. There was barely any meat and veggie. The soup was flavorless with a layer of hot oil. There are also big chuncks of tendon that were not edible because it too hard to chew. I also didn’t like how they used disposable plates and bowls for their appetizers. You can definitely find a better Taiwanese cuisine restaurant around this area.

House chicken is very dry, I’ve been here before about 3 years ago and it was also dry. I was hoping it would have been better than last time. Cold noodles are also dry and bunched together. Dry dry dry. Beef noodle soup was slightly bland, dumplings were good but small. Waitress was nice… I recommend you go to the original Earthen in Hacienda Heights.

Rowland Heights has a lot of good Chinese restaurants. After finding a good one last week, I’m back to try another one to see if it compares to Dings Garden. Although it’s smaller than Dings, it more modern looking. From the waiting area(for take out) I could see through the kitchen. Their wok burner was impressive. I saw the flames shoot up a couple of feet high. I love watching the action in the kitchen. Lol. Here’s the rundown: House Chicken(Large) — cold chicken with cucumber splices at the bottom and green onion slices on top. The star of this dish was the sauce. Vinegar, soy sauce sugar and GARLIC, Yum! The chicken was cooked perfect, still moist. Hit with that sauce is a home run. Just be warned, that garlic is strong. Lol. Preserved Egg and Tofu — Simply prepared with a mildly sweet soy sauce. DELICIOUS! This is not for everyone. The tofu is soft, cold and tasteless(I like it this way). The preserved egg(which is Black) will scare some of you. The taste will not be agreeable with others, but I love preserved eggs. This dish was my favorite of the night. So good, Wifey and I had a pack, one order each next tine we go back. Beef Roll — this was just okay for me. It needed a sauce(hoisin maybe?, hot sauce, probably!) Three Color Cold Plate — Chicken, Slice beef and shredded Jelly Fish. This too had the sweet garlicky sauce and it was a hit for us as well. The jelly fish with that sauce was outstanding. Onion Pancake — this was very crispy and good. Beef Noodle Soup — the broth was good the noodles were perfect. The beef could be a bit more tender. But all in all a solid dish. Service was very friendly and helpful. Specially for a first time customer. Price was very reasonable. 3 cold dishes &3 hot ones. The cold dishes were outstanding. The hot dishes were just okay. Definitely worth a try. 2015 Review #45

Came here for the first time after hearing some of my friends rave about this place for quite a while. The place itself is a small, long store located more towards Hacienda Heights vs Rowland Heights. Came here for lunch before heading back to Vegas on a Wednesday afternoon. Not too busy. Small menu(not a bad thing) but this is one of the places where you write down quantity of what you want on the provided menu/paper thingy. Per Unilocal Tips, and friends recommendations, i tried 5 things(eyes bigger than stomach Lol). Beef Noodle Soup, Green Onion Pancake, Beef Roll, House Specialty Chicken and House Specialty Sliced Beef. Of the 5 things i ordered, i liked the chicken, beef, and green onion pancakes. I wasn’t exactly sure how big the large chicken was but known my own nature, i over order anyway and i figured i can take it home. To be honest, can’t really tell what amount was given(whole or half chicken — probably half) but we could tell it is a frozen, normal chicken, and not a free-range chicken. Lots of meat on a bed of mildly pickled small cucumbers. The chicken is topped with a vinegar-y, sweet chopped garlic sauce. I liked this dish a lot. The cucumbers gave a really nice contrasting fresh crisp taste. Cold sliced house specialty beef has the same sauce as the chicken(or so i think). also on a bed of mild pickled cucumbers. Nice side dish but not much sliced beef though. Green onion pancakes. Nice, hot, and fresh out of the kitchen. Delicious ! Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. One of the best crispy green onion pancakes ive had ! We took some of the long thin sliced green onion from the chicken and sandwiched it in the pancakes. Was delicious XD Beef noodle soup was a bit underwhelming. Small amount of noodles. Not much beef or tendons. Some beef pieces were a undercooked(like not cooked long enough to be nice and tender). Not much preserved veggies either. Noodles are quite overcooked so lack of chewiness or any texture really besides it being overly soft. Beef Roll. First time ive seen one that isnt using green onion pancakes as the wrap. Little underwhelming in terms of taste and flavor because the wrap they used is a bit bland and i think theres only a minimal amount of sauce used. Overall, pretty good place. I can see why some of my friends like to come here and take food back home too !

3.5 stars. A small Taiwanese café, which is also owned by «Earthen» restaurant just 1 mile down the street. The inside is pretty small and seats about 25 – 30 people. The food is served in plastic«to-go» plates but they also provide glass plates and utensils for dining in. The menu is really simple. The food is VERY cheap. Most dishes run about $ 5 and are good for about 3 – 4 people to share comfortably. The food isn’t mind-blowing awesome but it gets the job done if you are on a budget. Check it out sometime. Stuff that’s above average, 3.5÷5 –Wonton Soup — $ 5 — Really big, serving size for about 4 people to share. Broth tastes clean. –Beef Noodle Soup $ 5 — Same as Wonton Soup. Big servings, serves about for 4 people to share. Broth is okay but has large serving size to make up for it. –Green Onion Pancake -$ 3.50 — It’s crunchy and not as «fluffy/bread-y» as other Green Onion pancakes I’m used to. Average — 3⁄5 –Pork Dumplings — $ 8 — Standard. –Beef Roll $ 5 — Standard. A bit on the sweet side but gets the job done. –Cold Chicken Appetizer(small) $ 8 — Decent. Comes w/cucumbers and chicken. Since it comes w/cucumbers, you can pass on getting cucumber appetizer =) Not that great — 2⁄5 –Cold Meat Combination — $ 10. It’s got«too much stuff» in it. Way too many onions, bean sprouts, and not enough meat. TIPS –Food is really cheap. Try it out sometime. –Located in the same plaza as Yoshinoya /Gas Station /Bambuu tea house.

I believe this place is a Taiwanese café style restaurant. Small, but large enough to accommodate one or two large parties. Most dishes are served in plastic to-go plates — not the most environmental friendly option, but it works when you have leftovers. Most dishes are in the $ 5 – 6 range, so definitely an affordable place to ease hunger. Menus are printed on computer paper so this gives the owner the option to easily adjust prices without those cheesy overlay stickers you see at other Chinese restaurants. So far so good, but those of us who frequent the 626 know that we eat for the food and not the service. In any event, I tried several dishes as follows: Cold Plate — jellyfish, chicken, and beef. Very good with good use of garlic and soy sauce. It comes on a bed of fresh cucumber and green onions. This is a great dish to get the meal started(like an appetizer). Green Onion Pancake — different style than I have tried at other cafes, as it’s more crispy than doughy. I can see some people preferring this option, but I didn’t and don’t. In fact, I thought it was too heavy. It’s all batter and limited amount of green onions Beef Roll — not bad, but not great. Smaller bite-size portions than what you would find at a place like 101 Noodle Express. The wrap could have been crispier rather it’s more like a flour tortilla-like texture. Boiled Pork Dumplings — meaty, flavorful, and juicy, a must order. Beef Noodle Soup — bland, oily, and the meat was chewy and tough(as in I had to spit it out as I was worried it was not digestible). The noodles were cooked nice, but unfortunately the soup base just didn’t have that«punch» to bring it home. Won Ton Noodle Soup — easy to eat and the won tons had just enough firmness. The soup, however, was served luke-warm and it was begging for a brief microwave re-heat session. Another thing to note is the hot sauce. For whatever reason, this bugs me. The hot sauce they use here are in to-go packets. Are they trying to be like Panda Express? At least have some bottles of sirracha on the tables. I do hope some of you check place this out because the potential is there, but the expectations were not met — considering the heavy competition in the area. It works for an afternoon snack.

I have had this place bookmarked for a year. I finally made my way out to this tiny little restaurant in a small strip mall on the corner of of Colima and Fullerton Road. I went with a group of six, so luckily I was able to try a ton of different things. On the menu was: Beef Noodle soup, wonton noodle soup, pork potstickers, onion pancake, pickled pork, chicken, leek dumpling, beef roll, and steamed pork dumplings. Overall, the food was pretty good. I’d skip the beef noodle soup, if I were you though. The broth was very very bland. We even got it spicy, and there was hardly any flavor. The beef in the soup was soft and tender, and the noodles looked like they were house-made, but the soup really left a lot to be desired. The dumplings were all good, but I very seldom encounter a crappy dumpling. The pickled pork was one of my favorite things. It’s one of those dishes that you have to try on the recommendation of someone else, because«pickled pork» sounds kind of gross to most people. I highly recommend it. The beef roll was ok. I’ve had better beef rolls at 101 Noodle Express. It was small, and the outside wrapper was soggy. My only real complaint is that they provide hot sauce in packages, you know the ones you get when you order fast food. I was really hoping for some legit chili sauce, because that’s what makes dumplings even better! I would definitely come back to this restaurant, if I were in the area. I like dumplings, and this place had very good dumplings. The staff was also very nice, and the restaurant was very clean. I saw online that they take cash only, but they did have one of those visa/mastercard signs on their window. Maybe it’s a new thing.

While looking for simple lunch options in the Rowland heights area, I remember Earth Girls are easy… Or was it Easy Earthen? Whatever, the case maybe. I had a relatively pleasant experience at their parent restaurant a few years ago and I thought this place surely wouldn’t disappoint. It was just alright in my opinion. Not good. Not bad. Just OK. Location: It’s right next to Bambu and in the same plaza and Pizza Love letter. Parking: Plenty. Kinda crowded at times. Ambiance: It’s cool. Food: Green Scaillion pancakes. They are flaky and crispy but man are they so oily… HOLYCOW. I made the mistake of scarfing down an entire basket by myself and by the end of my lunch I felt super queasy… Big mistake. I think if you eat one or two, it’s tasty but any more than that it’s just too much. Way too oily bro. I kinda like mine less oily. Pork and Cabbage dumplings: Tasty. Just like what mom used to make. However, for the price I could have easily gone to 99 Ranch and bought a frozen bag of dumplings. *It’s alright. Good service but I don’t think I’d ever come back for lunch ever again. Not really my style… J to the Y.

The onion oil cookie cake thing is delicious. I’ve had other ones. Thicker, oilier, dough-ier. This one really takes the cake. The onion oil cookie cake thing, that is! It’s mildly crunchy upon arrival and has a good flavor about it. The oil content is perfect. Not ridiculous and still crunchy. The way they serve it is better(cut and stacked) instead of pizza-style. Pretty good $ 3. Beef roll is inexplicably good, I believe there’s a marinated flavor that brings the whole thing together.

How did I just find out about this restaurant?! Am I Asian or what. Green Onion Pancake — Flaky, not too oily, and delicious! Beef Roll — Their beef roll is smaller than most Chinese restaurants. As for the taste, it has a sweetness to it, which I actually like. Beef Noodle Soup — The broth wasn’t too spicy, but just right. The noodles had a good firmness to them and the beef was good too. Pork Potstickers — Standard potstickers. Not bad. Pork and Vegetable Dumplings — The dumplings are better than the potstickers. Both the pork and the vegetable dumplings are juicy. House Chicken — One of the best house chickens I’ve ever had! Extremely flavorful and garlicky which I enjoy. Chicken is moist and the sauce is incredible! Cold Noodles — Delicious! Although the noodles doesn’t soak up the sauce like you want it to — it’s still good. In the end, you just have a puddle of sauce leftover. One of the better Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. A hidden gem in the plaza.

So I came here with two other friends. We ended up ordering two of the green onion pancakes, the house chicken, and a beef noodle thing(sorry, forgot the name). Anyway, our green onion pancakes were brought out first. I was pretty excited to try them because I’ve tried a similar dish made by my Korean friend. I ate two of the pancakes, and I thought they were pretty good. I reached for the third, picked it up, and realized there was a hair on the pancake below it. Now I know that stuff like that happens everywhere, but that stuff truly disgusts me. I couldn’t take another bite of my food. So we called over an employee and told them and they said they apologized several times and told me they would bring out another and take the charge off my bill. That was really nice of them and I applaud their service. But still, ew. The chicken dish I ordered was to be shared with my friend and I ate a piece and thought«this is pretty good», now mind you, the sauce/dressing was REALLY good. But as I proceeded to grab other pieces of chicken I noticed that they all had bones in it, which is really off-putting to me. So I couldn’t eat anymore. Luckily, there were sliced cucumbers on the bottom so I enjoyed those. Overall, the service was good and the atmosphere of the place was welcoming, but their food was alright and I will never be able to get past the hair I found in my food. *I would have given this place three stars but finding the hair makes me feel like 3 is a bit too generous… Sorry.

First time I came here, their service was great. The girl was really friendly. Today I got treated a bit rudely by a different girl, bc they were busy. I dont blame her. Beef roll was good but dry. Theres not enough sauce in that roll. It’s mainly beef + cilantro. Or that’s what it tastes like. Their cold noodle has shrimp and squid! So good! Only for $ 5.5. Would definitely come back for this one. Their dumpling are homemade. Yum. A lot of their menus are $ 5 – 6. Wifi is iffy. sometimes you cant even catch their wifi.

Randomly found this place while waiting to be seated at another restaurant. We got the beef roll, pork and veggie dumpling, chicken and onion pancakes. I gotta say everything was sooooo good! We were getting so full but didn’t want to stop eating! My favorite was the beef rolls though I could eat those everyday! The service was also excellent! Would definitely be coming back!
