Tealight no longer exists. This place is now called boba 101 on the outside but it’s actually eden café. I was so confused when I walked in since they had so many different store names. Pros: The worker Coco was very nice! A+ for customer service You get a 10% discount for being a student The watermelon slush is really refreshing Cons: They had no menu so I ended up looking at their menu of Card usage requires a minimum of $ 10 The boba isn’t too fresh

One of my favorite grab and go places! Something I must acknowledge them for: unlike most Asian drink places, tea light uses fresh fruit to make their smoothies. I usually get the Kale smoothie, which doesn’t entirely taste like kale because of the sour pineapple they put in it. I was surprised that with the size and quality of the drink, it came out to be less than $ 4. Definitely recommend. :)

I would give this no stars if could. The food here is disasterous. I ordered a #1 Beef Noodle(soup). $ 6.50 Pretty cheap price. I came with friends that ordered cold noodles and chicken steak with rice. My order came with a free small milk tea. A plus. or so I thought. While waiting my friends and I heard the microwave go off. My meal came after 15 minutes or so. Immediately a sour foul stench filled the air. It was in a plastic black bowl… «microwave safe»… Heat and plastic DONOT go well together. Plastic outgases. My meal was equivalent to drinking water out of a water bottle that sat in a hot car. Now trying it. it tastes bland, and dry in my mouth. Possibly MSG. Tasting the meat, it’s grimy and slimy that is questionable. The bok choy tastes like nothing. Regarding the milk tea… it tastes strangely thick and somewhat like chocolate milk. One of the friends that came with me went to use the restroom to find the floor covered in urine. Definitely NOT coming here again. Save your money and go to a better place.

With an extensive drink menu and Chinese food made to order, TeaLight is TeaLightful! I am admittedly not the biggest fan of Chinese food because I often times feel completely knocked out from food coma after a meal. However, the food I had at TeaLight was not too heavy handed and the drinks I had were not only great tasting, but also super filling. Another plus was that the food was relatively affordable. Here are a few of the things that I ordered: Kale Avocado Smoothie– A surprisingly sweet and refreshing smoothie that made me wonder if there was actually any kale or avocado in it! Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed sipping every single delicious drop of my smoothie. It was smooth and creamy probably from the avocados. However, the kale taste was overpowered by what seemed to be pineapple juice. I probably would have enjoyed more kale flavor but I thoroughly enjoyed this on a super hot day. Beijing Style Noodle — A just okay version of this classic noodle dish. I found the rich black bean sauce mixed with beef thoroughly enjoyable. I also enjoyed the slices of cucumber that help add crunch to each bite of the dish. However, the noodles were overdone so I did not enjoy it as much as I could have. Pork and Pickled Fried Rice — A pretty good fried rice dish that I would eat again! With the little kick of pickles in each bite, it really added a nice addition to your typical fried rice. It also wasn’t overly oily like some fried rice dishes. One of the minor downsides was the slow service. I do appreciate that they make their food to order but the wait for the food was pretty long especially since it seemed like there was only one person working! Parking is readily available in the parking lot in the shared plaza. It can get busy depending on the time so you may have to circle around for awhile before finding a spot. There are some spots behind the supermarket if you are totally having a hard time finding parking. Overall, TeaLight has good affordable Chinese food, but you should definitely come for the Kale Avocado Smoothie!

This is an excerpt from my Food & Travel blog: I would pay the price later since while drinking this Kale Avocado Smoothie I suspected there was a serious amount of pineapple juice(«heartburn central»). While consuming it I recalled that pineapple juice is a common ingredient in green colored veggie/fruit smoothies but neither of us gave it any thought prior to ordering. You can get one of these at TeaLight(Rowland Heights, CA). They have an extensive menu which includes other beverages such as: fresh watermelon juice, black sesame smoothie, various milk tea drinks and various coffee drinks.

For a while I’ve been looking for a boba place that makes smoothies with real fruit because I’ve grown out of the boba slush made with flavored syrup phase of my life. I’m so glad that I stepped out of the box and tried something completely different from the usual mango-peach type stuff. I’ve been here three times this week. The first time, I got a mango-peach smoothie with boba which was good, but they had so many interesting and exotic choices that I felt I wasn’t being adventurous enough… Kale Avocado Smoothie with or without boba. I only have eyes for you.

3 stars for customer service. I came here because I wanted a healthy smoothie, and based on reviews saying they use real fruit in their smoothies. When I ordered, I asked what they mix their fruit with because I didn’t want my smoothie to be artificially sweet. I like my smoothies as natural as possible. They said they mix it with a juice and it’s not that sweet. If places like this mix their smoothies with pre-made juices, it’s not considered healthy — It has loads of sugar. If you’re trying to be healthy, there’s no point in getting these! When I asked him to substitute it with soy milk or almond milk, he gave confused stare like I was weird. They didn’t have any. I said that I’d be ok even if it’s mixed with water! I told him I just wanted my smoothie as natural as possible. After that, he became flustered like I was ruining their drink recipe simply because I wanted my smoothie made with water instead of juice. He made my drink, gave it to me and said, «I’m not sure it will taste good.» With the most unsure look on his face. I took a sip and it was exactly what I wanted. I told him it was good! Still, he looked flustered and bothered, like he couldn’t accept the fact that smoothies can taste good without added sugar! It’s a good place if you’re craving sweet, for sure. But if you’re looking for healthy, all natural fruit drinks without added sugar, this is not the place for you.

My first impression was, «Great menu with quick bites, snacks, and drinks!» Their drinks are not your typical Asian sweet drinks loaded with condensed flavoring and sugar. You have actual fresh ingredients like kale, fresh fruits, and juices blended in. The menu options are great, and the prices are amazing. Their pickled pork belly fried rice was my favorite dish. It’s a great place to get your fix of the original Taiwanese snack of popcorn chicken and rice, with a nice twist on your typical Asian drinks. The restaurant is kept very clean, and the food was made fresh. There is a lot of good Asian food and drinks in the area, and plenty of options, but TeaLight is a great stop if you’re not interested in waiting in long lines or waits to eat! It’s definitely a hidden gem in the plethora of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean restaurants. The lasting impression? «We can’t wait to go try more of their food!»

Pretty chill boba spot. The café itself is super small and there’s only a few tables. It’s definitely a good place to come and grab a drink to study. They have a good variety of drinks ranging from smoothies, milk teas to healthier options. We ordered the large milk tea and almond milk tea. Pretty decent. The prices are really reasonable too compared to other boba places like Ten Ren.

I’ve been this place quite a few times. It is one of my favorite drink places. If only it was around San Gabriel Valley area, I would go there more often. Most of the times, I order the kale smoothie. A few of the days, I decided to try something new one: Fresh Berry Banana Smoothie, and the other I don’t quite remember. It was a smoothie with peach though. All of these smoothies were great. I love the taste. As I mentioned earlier, I would go more often if it was closer to where I live. Appearance: The place is relatively small with a few tables, but it is usually not busy, which is surprising. The decorations are very nice. It gives off a great atmosphere. It is quiet enough to study as well. The restroom is in the back of the place. Service: Whenever I go there, I always this the guy. I don’t know his name, but his customer service is amazing. The first time I went to this place, I asked him for suggestion. He gave me a few suggestions to pick from. He suggested I try the Kale Smoothie. At first, I was skeptical about it, but I did not regret it. The guy even remembers me and insist on trying the food next time, which I will! Price: The pricing of the drinks is not expensive at all for the material inside each drink. The guy who makes the drinks put a lot of material inside versus other places that only put two or three items inside and blend it. Overall: I would recommend the Kale Smoothie, Very Berry Berry Slush, Fresh Berry Banana Smoothie, and Peach something Smoothie. These are all great choices. You will not regret ordering the Kale Smoothie unless you don’t like kale. I would recommend this place to everyone!

I must say that the kale smoothie was a surprise. I didn’t expect it to be tangy and so refreshing! I see why people crave about this drink. It’s $ 3.99 for quite a big size and $.50 additional if you want either boba, pudding, jelly, etc. They don’t have the dessert that you see in the photos anymore like the sesame balls. Their popcorn chicken was a bit strong in seasoning for me but it tastes as you imagine it to be. The server was very friendly and the place is quite quaint. Parking is just like any other plaza in the area — packed.

Ownership changes so fast sometimes. Dessert Queen Kenzie K just reported recently that there’s a new proprietor for TeaLight Boba & Smoothies. Even, before the change, I thought the place was OK. But, if I had to choose between BAMBU Desserts & Drinks, located in the same plaza, I’d opt for this one. A very simple menu, with lots to choose from. My buddy swears about the WHITECHOCOLATEOREOSMOOTHIE. Being boring, I had the MILKTEA. Nothing spectacular, but I just wanted something sweet and I’m not really hard to please when it comes to these boba shops. Next time, I’m getting the MATCHAGREENTEALATTESMOOTHIE. Something, about the green tea flavors these days, it’s catching on quick and I know some of you agree with me on that. The prices are comparable, but the parking situation can be horrendous at times. Plus, the spaces are so tight, you’re just asking for a door ding. Proceed with caution, including the drinks.

I was craving milk tea so I found this place on Unilocal.I was hoping they would have milk tea slush since they also have smoothies but they didn’t. There was no ice in the milk tea which I usually like in there. Milk tea itself was a little watered down and not as much boba as I would like but the boba itself was perfect. 2 large milk teas with boba for $ 5.38 is a great deal. Service is good, friendly. Just wish milk tea wasn’t so watered down and sweeter.

**UPDATE** Just want to notify that there’s a new owner. ROWLANDHEIGHTS I’d ignore any reviews before August. Read those at your own risk. New owner so my old review does not apply anymore. I’m unsure if the drinks are the same quality but I did go back to get a red bean smoothie and it was still good. I just miss the old owners. I wish I knew what happened to them. I regret that I quit going. **To the TWIN Sisters who used to own this place, if you own another place, PLEASELETMEKNOW. I doubt it though, I think they retired. :( I’d rate this place higher but the parking is seriously whack. Plus BAMBU is here. But if you want a place to grab some snacks like popcorn chicken or other foods, typical Taiwanese or Chinese snacks, and get some drinks, they have it. They are opened til a late hour too. I think until midnight. There’s a restroom. There are 6 tables I believe. This place is not designed for larger groups. They do have wifi and maybe 1 outlet. Wait, unsure if the new owner has WIFI but the previous did. My favorite is the kale slushie, get it with chia seeds. YUM. :) Thanks for reading. ~*Kenzie*~ P.S. They will say that their drinks are NON-DAIRY but if you’re getting a drink that normally uses MILK, I just want to add that they might use NON-DAIRY creamers which technically is NOT vegan so I just wanna throw it out there, but at least it’s lactose-free. P. S.S. There is the TINIEST Paris Baguette in the Korean Supermarket next door. I went a couple times, but not worth it. I rather go to any other location.

I’m giving this place 4 stars based off of one drink I always get here and the two food items I’ve tried. Let me start off by saying that the guy who works here is super nice. His English isn’t on point but he tries and is super polite and because of that, I enjoy coming back. My go-to drink here is a kale, pineapple smoothie with chia seeds. Sometimes when I feel like I binged too hard during the day I’ll come here and grab this for a super light dinner. You can’t taste the kale and from what everybody says, they use real fruits and veggies. I’ve asked if they use any added sugars or sweeteners and they said no, but I really don’t know since you can’t see them making the smoothies. I’ll take his word for it though. Their popcorn chicken is delicious! Made of dark meat with a nice, golden crunch. I asked for it to be extra spicy and it wasn’t spicy enough but that’s probably just cause I handle spice super well! He recommended I try the Chinese hamburger and this was just a-okay to me. Idk if I would get it again. There’s a minimum $ 5 credit/debit fee so if you’re just in for a drink then make sure you bring cash. Parking can be mediocre during dinner time(8 – 9) but any other time of the day I haven’t had much trouble finding a spot.

Expensive and not worth it at all. I figured I would pop in to get a drink and a light meal. My crispy calamari fried rice cost $ 6.50 and my black sesame slush was $ 3.99 which would have been fine if they tasted good. Too bad the food tasted terrible. The guy taking my order gave me a weird look when I ordered the black sesame and suggested that I order a fruit smoothie instead. When I asked him why, he said, «Westerners don’t like the taste of black sesame.» This caught me off guard because I spoke Chinese just as well as he did and I look Chinese. My drink tasted okay. According to the picture in on the menu, the crispy calamari fried rice looked like egg and veggie fried rice topped with crispy calamari bites fried in batter and dusted with seasoning. That was NOT what I received. The fried rice had the squid pieced sauteed into it without crispiness or any seasoning. In fact, the dish had only the taste of salt. It was pretty bad. The pictures on the menu were probably taken back when the staff here cared about the taste of their food. They don’t care anymore.

***Attention: TeaLight(Made in Taiwan) is now ChineseLight(Made in China)*** Here we go again… and again… This is no longer owed by the Taiwanese Twin-Ladies the original owner whom built and started this place. They sold the café to born in China individuals just recently. Everything had changed… The menu changed a lot and offering what Lollicups are offering and nothing special about it… anymore…The cup has changed too… it has been«cheapen» with a cheaper cup with the manual cap… it is no longer the«special machine seal» like before… …and the internet connection was down graded to very slow speed and i can’t even log on to watch news video without getting the constant freeze and interrupt!!! No more friendly«pretty and nice college girls» servicing at the front. It’s serviced and maned by some dude that can’t even speak English right… he is from China by the way cus I spoke with him. I bet he must be the son of the new owner… Yeah, forget about the«art» on the chuck board… as you have seen in the past photos… those are gone in the speed of light. P. S. It’s going down-hills from here… Good Bye TeaLight and No «ChineseLight» for me from now, I rather be in the«dark» on this one cus I am going to «turn-off» the light.

Upon ordering, the girl worker offered either kale smoothie or taro smoothie to sample. I obviously got the kale smoothie because I love kale. To me, it was too watered down and the kale didn’t shine. Therefore, I opt for another drink. I got the strawberry peach green tea. It was their number 5 most popular drink and I thought it was pretty good! There was bits of strawberry and peaches inside the drink. You could taste all the components and the sweetness of the fruits balance nicely with the green tea. My best friend ordered the honey jasmine milk tea. From a first look, it just looked like regular boba. I didn’t get to try this, but she finished all of it before we got home. So I’m guessing she really liked this. Cute little place. I want to come back to try the asian snacks! Menu pictures

This place is a pretty awesome place! When you put an Asian tea place and jamba juice together, you get TEALIGHT! I love that they are willing to let us try their samples before making our decision. Definitely, the kale slush is a MUST. The kale slush has a taste of pineapples, and it just makes me feel good and healthy inside when I drink it. The slush is made to order, so you can hear them blending up the fruits and veggies in the back, and it usually takes about 4 – 5 minutes. I also got the popcorn chicken medium spicy and it was really good! You can see how little batter they use and that you get a lot of chicken compared to other tea places. I will be back! Oh yeah, don’t forget to show them your Unilocal check-in for 10% off!

Wow great store owner that is friendly and approachable. And the best of all is that all of the menu items are guilt free! According to the owner, she does not use dairy in any of her products(even the milky sounding drinks such as the Oreo smoothie), and they have the option of serving brown rice with any of their dishes. I didn’t get to try any food during my first visit, but I was already wowed by their smoothies! The owner was nice enough to let us sample the kale smoothie and I was sold with a sip. For 4 some bucks to get a nutrition packed smoothie, I think is nothing! The smoothie only comes in the large size and I really think it’s worth the money considering that its full of healthy veggies and fruits. The chia seeds were a great addition and it tastes amazing when the texture of the seeds changes and it starts to taste gelatinous. My friend ordered the taro red bean smoothie and she thought it tasted amazing as well. With my smoothie, I really loved how it was nice and icy initially but later became a fresh juiced blend after all the ice melted. Delicious! I’m usually not the type to get smoothie, but you can definitely tell that tea light really cares about the ingredients they use in their drinks and that’s always an A+ in my book!
