Here’s an update as of today, and I added a star to this review: First of all I haven’t been to Midori for months since I wrote the first review, because we moved a little further away. This evening I was craving sushi after watching the hilarious video of Jimmy Fallon and Blake Shelton and sushi…(a must watch on Youtube!) So tonight we went there and truly enjoyed the experience! The fish was very fresh, and it seemed the fish to rice ratio was much better! The place was clean and tidy, and the service was just right, not too pushy, very polite, and attentive. I do believe they’ve come up a notch since I was there last! Bravo Midori!

This is the best sushi in town! Always fresh and super friendly staff. Must try the pepper jack appetizer.

Not great. Not terrible. . I guess it’s mediocre. The music is loud and top 40 which I could have totally done without … It felt like I was in a forever 21 store. Ha! Ok the rolls were decently priced and not bad I just didn’t think it was anything outstanding

Good good, friendly service and competitive prices. The décor is pleasant and they gave me an origami crane. I can recommend the pork ton katsu and the sunset roll.

I’ve always loved Midori! In my opinion they have some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! And I’ve had a lot of sushi from a lot of different places! I do have to say though that sometimes especially lately it’s been hit or miss. Most of the time it’s amazing! But when it’s bad it makes me want to never go here again. But then I waste money trying other places and end up right back at Midori because no one else compares! They have had better cooks for kitchen orders in the past. I pretty much love everything on the menu and be sushi chef is very accommodating. Try the pepper jack, funky Vegas and the sushi vampire!

Hubby and I stopped in awhile back for lunch. We did the All-You-Can eat deal. The rolls were pretty tasty… fresh tasting as land-locked fish can get, and the waiter and sushi chef were fun. The Pepper Jack is a MUST.

Everything we had was extremely bland. There was no real flavor. The Udon, the Tempura, even the Chef’s Special Sashimi. It was a major, and pricey, let down.

Good! This place has good food, good service, good ambiance. You should try. if you have any complaints they will for free re-pair your food. We only had one one time and was pleased with that. love the rolls good size, good flavor, good price. Not your run of mill Utah sushi place.

A new local favorite! Stopped in for lunch after seeing 50% Off All Specialty Sushi Rolls. The interior is extremely clean and the staff are really friendly. Refreshing to hear classic rock playing instead of traditional Japanese restaurant music. Comfortable seating and they keep the temperature nice and cool, perfect for an almost 100 degree summer day! We ordered Spicy Calamari, which was cooked perfectly. Pepper Jack, deep fried jalapeño peppers with cream cheese, spicy tuna, and eel sauce was the show stopper. Crisp peppers and full of flavor. I could eat a whole meal of these! Sushi Vampire, California Morning, Philadelphia Rolls — Tasty and Fresh! See photos of everything we ordered. We will be back. Just love finding a new favorite place. So glad we stopped for lunch.

I like this place. I have been a sushi addict for years and have been to tons of places. They recently went half off. I love their quality and I have never had bad fish. The food is fresh and prepared quickly. I feel like I get a good value for the money. They have quite a few regulars. The manager always comes to chat when I am there.

I was a little unsure because the outside looked pretty old and it’s real dim. I went inside and the waitress was real sweet! She gave my friend and I great service but the thing is… when we got our rolls… we barely had any meat in our rolls. It was not enough for that price! I’d understand if it was cheaper… it wasn’t that great, I wouldn’t go back.

It is a not big Sushi bar-style restaurant, smaller than So-delicous nearby, but has its specialty. I did not try Sushi rolls this time, and ordered Seafood fried noodle instead. Maybe it was not a right decision, but it really stimulated my enthusiasm for cooking seafood fried noodles myself tonight. Although I am not a huge fan of this restaurant, I feel a certain group of American really like the place. And I feel a little bit weird to listening to the songs of Korea Drama in this Sushi bar place!

Good sushi, but for the $$$ I would rather go to Sushi Ya in Layton which is yummy yum and isn’t very pricey.

Since I last ate at Midori Sushi, they have started doing all-you-can-eat. Warning lights went off in my head as I saw the all-you-can-eat sign as I pulled into the parking lot, but since we had eaten there a year or two ago and had a good experience I though it would be okay. I judge all sushi joints by their nigiri. This place failed. The size of the fish was unbelievably skimpy. The fish was about ¼ of what you would expect. I give them two stars because they aren’t as bad as sushi ya.

Took our college aged daughter and her friend there for her birthday. Had a great time trying the all you can eat options. Great place for a newbie to sushi.

My husband took me here for my birthday, and it was a pleasant surprise. We’ve done most of the other sushi places in the Ogden area, so he decided to take me somewhere new. I wasn’t disappointed. The place is small and quaint, but it was very good. We had warm and tasty miso soup, and I tried the calamari roll and a salmon roll. Both tasted fresh and delicious. Husband had a bento box with grilled salmon(so good!) and grilled chicken, which was pretty average. We also shared the purple haze sake, which was a good recommendation from our server. Overall, I think for the price(our entire meal, including sake, came to about $ 40) you can’t go wrong with this place. We had good service, a great meal, and cozy atmosphere.

Who knew this would be such a gem??? Excellent flavours with superb prices! Try the Sushi Vampire… not only for the name and presentation but well worth the price. They were very accommodating to substitute an item and it turned out so delicious! Small dining area yet clean. I look forward to returning soon.

This place is not too crowded during lunch, so I didn’t expect much on my first visit, but the food turned out to be a surprise. It was a lot better than the ones I had in Osaka Sushi down in the Layton. The tonkatsu was very good and was not dried like other places in the area. Their lunch box is decent with very good meats. The sushi rolls tasted ok and they didn’t use fresh fish. The place is clean enough and service is fairly decent. I’m looking forward to try their other dishes and maybe other sushi rolls.
