Had the grilled chicken over lettuce. Very good! My hubs had the chicken schwarma over fries. It was meh. Pro lay cause the fries were underdone and lame. Good prices and the pickled cabbage, hummus & garlic sauce was great.

Love the food here! Always quick and flavors on point! Normally get the chicken tikka wrap! Yum!!! They have a subway type vibe, it’s nice so you can tell them what to add or what to keep out. The lentil soup is also very tasty would highly recommend!

This place is amazing. My wife and I have been here 6 times. The Chicken Shawarma with the house made ranch special is my favorite. My wife loves the Fattoush salad. She has a Gluten and dairy allergy, and they are EXTREMELY accommodating to her needs. I would defiantly recommend Lentil to people who are looking for something different.

Stumbled across Lentil due to IHOP being closed cause of water issues and what an a amazing place to eat. I had the chicken tikki bowl Amazing! Not only did the food exceed expectations but the friendly staff did as well!

I tried Lentil for the first time with a friend and have to say we were not disappointed. We both ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and had the VERY fresh toppings. Oh, and the lentil soup is one of the best I have ever had! The ambiance was great, you can tell they put a lot of effort in making this a household name in the future. Will be back again and again.

I ordered the bowl with beef and chicken schwarma on a bed of white rice. I had everything piled up except for pickles. The meat was bland and all the individual ingredients became one giant messy flavor. Nothing was too distinguishing. The bowl was filling and reasonably priced but it was far below any mediterranean experience I’ve had in the past.

Stopped in with my sister to check out the new place. Staff was super friendly. We decided to split the falafel 6 piece and the fattoush salad with shawarma chicken and everything was great! Just the right amount of dressing on the salad, the pita chips in the salad where crispy, but not hard, and the chicken was flavorful. Loved the falafel — better then others in the area! Had a cup of their dragon tea as well-tasty. We where still eating and already discussing what to get the next time. We went a week ago and am still thinking how great the food was — we will definitely be back!

I came here for an early dinner last night around 6. The store was empty and after staring at the menu for a bit I decided on a brown rice bowl with Chicken Shawarma. The moment he took the lid off of the Chicken, I realized I had made a terrible mistake. This is a good time to mention that I’m no stranger to the Shawarma. I eat at Bucharest and Wow Mediterranean quite regularly and have tried many of the other local joints in the area. Now back to the chicken: it was a dull, lifeless brown color with a sandy looking texture. Not only did it look over cooked, but also as if it has been sitting for quite a while. While it was warm, due to the way it was being stored, it was far from juicy and flavorful like it would be at any of the aforementioned restaurants. The flavor/texture combination reminded of ground beef with taco seasoning more than anything else. Not cool. The positive: the veggies seemed to be decently fresh and the hummus was tasty. Bottom line: If you are considering giving this spot a try, do it during lunch hours(the time of day where all these positive reviews seem to be coming from). Judging by the condition of my Chicken Shawarma, keeping meat fresh into the evening is not a priority of this restaurant. Personally, I will be sticking to Bucharest, WOW, and Pita Café.

Welcome to Mediterranean Chipotle! Lentil uses that same sort of fast food-casual-made to order business model that you know and love at a number of newer restaurants. You walk down an assembly line while an employee loads up your creation with a number jazzy options. Lentil has a few vegetarian choices, including made to order falafel that can be put in wraps or bowls. I like to start with rice then add some pickled veggies and the seasoned onion mix. The garlic sauce is pretty tasty, and the chipotle garlic turns things up a spicy notch. Good option for fast takeout, although not necessarily the healthiest, Lentil has been consistently tasty. The experience I’ve had has been less than speedy service. This place has been rather slow in getting people through the line. They haven’t been open very long, I’ll just chalk it up to a learning curve. Always good to have a new place for vegetarian take out!

While the Mediterranean chipotle concept seems to be flooding our food scene lately, there are only a couple places that are doing it right. Lentil, is in fact one of the three places(in my opinion) that does a great job! I ordered three bowls(because I’m a fatty and wanted to try most of the meats that interested me) and each was better than the next! My #1 favorite was the chicken tikka bowl– I had everything added to it on a bed of rice and house dressing as my sauce. The chicken was 4 huge chunks of breast meat that were freshly grilled! Delicioussssssss!!! The chicken shawarma was great too, and I also tried the steak shawarma. The steak, while still delicious, was probably my least favorite just because it wasn’t what I was expecting. It wasn’t spiced like a steak shawarma normally is and its texture was a little different. However, it was SOOOOTENDER that I would still order it. Whatever you do, get an extra side of their house dressing!!! It’s so good I could literally bathe in it. The lentil soup here is crazy good, especially on a cold day! Give them a try, I would totally recommend them!

Went here on a whim because it’s close to work. I was interested in fast vegetarian fare and they totally delivered. The competition for middle-eastern food in this area is steep, and I’m happy to have found this place. Their falafel is some of the very best I’ve had, and you can get it in a bowl with brown rice, hummus, and tahini. Peppers, turnips, and pickles on top and you’re good to go. The people at the counter are super cool, and their baklava is insanely good too. Everything you want for a fast, healthy, and inexpensive meal.

I was a fan of Lentils when they were open in Novi, by my work — so you can imagine how thrilled I was when they opened their location in Royal Oak, 3 miles from home!!! My boyfriend and I went there for dinner last night. Here’s the breakdown: The good: Their restaurant is beautifully decorated, with dark wood accents and a mix of different table sizes to accommodate different party sizes. The setup is like many fast casual restaurants — you start at one end of the counter, and tell them what you’d like, and they make it fresh to order. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich with garlic sauce, hummus, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle sauce. It was delicious, as always. My boyfriend got the chicken shawarma rice bowl, and ate every bite. We upgraded our entrees to combo meals which included freshly made pita chips or potato chips and a drink. All together, our bill was $ 17 or so; very, very reasonable for such delicious, fresh food. Also worth mentioning: they have a kid’s menu, and they added Italian chicken(fingers? strips? something like that), which is awesome. My 7 year old isn’t a huge Lebanese food fan, but I am; so in the future, we’ll both be able to eat here happily. The bad: This is just a minor gripe: At the old Lentil’s location, they gave you hummus to go with your pita chips; this location charges you for it. Also, the guy who rang us up seemed to be stoned, or really tired; we had to repeat ourselves several times before he would add an ingredient to our dinner. Other than that, our meal was great! I’m so happy this is in my neighborhood, and I see many more dinners there in our future.

I opted for the bowl with brown rice, chicken shawarma, cabbage, tomato, onion, and garlic sauce. The pickled cabbage is amazing as is the chicken shawarma. The chicken is seasoned perfectly. Would definitely recommend this as a healthy, quick, lunch spot.

Ordered a fattoush salad and a chicken shawarma sandwich. The manager pulled the server making my sandwich to wait on another person and he finished wrapping my sandwich. I think the other person was someone special. He then rang my order up. However, when I got home the sandwich was not in the bag. He had just finished making it and the salad was already made! I was very upset as it was rush hour and called back to complain. I was told to come in anytime and ask for the manager and they would give me a replacement sandwich and a coupon for another. I felt they should have asked for my name and address and mailed the coupons, but I doubt I will ever go back. The Fattoush salad was just okay, the dressing was too vinegary. I think I will stick to the gas station pita place in Berkley, don’t know why I strayed.

I’m sitting here eating my day old lentil soup and thinking, why didn’t I get a pint?!? This stuff is darn delicious! By far one of the best lentil soups I’ve had, it’s flavorful, hearty and oh so tasty. Yesterday I was smart enough to pick up lunch for today and yesterday. I tried the chicken schwarma bowl with brown rice topped with hummus, pickled turnips, lettuce and tahini sauce. It was very good and the chicken was super fresh. They have a variety of other bowls and pita wraps that are available as well as lemon rice soup. You can also get white rice or French fries in your bowl which I found interesting. They had a nice selection of dessert including baclava(spelling?) and birds nests that appeared to be popular but I didn’t sample.

Came in here for a quick lunch right after they opened at 11am. The ladies at the counter were friendly and they guided us on what to get. We opted for 2 bowls of rice — chicken shawarma and beef shawarma(around $ 5.50, slightly more than the chicken). Then you can add garlic sauce and some other sauces after she piled all the veg on it. I really enjoyed my beef shawarma which was flavourful. I find that my husband’s chicken shawarma was a bit dry saved for the tahini sauce he added on top of the salad. We also ordered 12 piece chicken wings($ 10.50). This was the best thing we ordered. The wings were crispy and the sauce/glaze was spectacular.

Really liked the style of this restaurant, the setup and options, and the food was great! Not only that– but the girl working at the counter could not have been sweeter. It’s so nice to have friendly and helpful customer service… especially as a first time visitor! Will be back for sure :)

I have been waiting for the place to open. I ordered one of their steak bowls. Very good. I will definitely be stopping there quite often. Very clean, friendly and their prices are right in line.
