Great ice cream! Got the smokers and Elvis and they were both so good. The Elvis had pieces of real peanut butter in it along with a banana and chocolate flavor. The hard ice cream isn’t too hard and has a great texture and flavor!

Waited in a crazy line only to be told that their coffee machine wasn’t working, even though their menu board includes coffee as a beverage they serve. Maybe put up a sign? «Coffee machine broken»? How hard could that be? Iffy service too, because I only got a weak«sorry» after I pointed out the line. Perhaps I’m expecting too much to think that it would make sense to offer a coffee ice cream drink instead? Seemed kind of obvious to me, but maybe they’re just too overwhelmed to think that way. I’d heard that their ice cream is great, and the place must be packed for a reason(hence the 2 stars instead of just 1), but since I won’t be going back, I guess I will never know for sure :(

I’ve always passed by this place and wondered if it was good. Finally stopped in and the ice cream was very good. I had some kind of chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and caramel. I gave them 3 stars because we walked in at 9pm and there was only 1 couple in front of us being helped and 3 people behind the counter. As were waiting for the couple to finish paying, a group of 4 teenage boys walked in and the teenage girl behind the counter dropped everything and ran over to help them as if my husband and I were completely invisible. If the other lady, which I’m assuming is the manager or owner, didnt come over to help us, we would’ve walked right out the door. Very unprofessional!

I have never been a fan of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, but Crazees gives it a special twist and it is delicious! It’s actually chocolate chip cookie ice cream and the ice cream tastes like the dough and they add chips. Brillant!

Great flavors, service is good, location isn’t great to stay and enjoy the ice cream though. And pretty expensive as well! Try the milk shakes!!!

The milkshakes are out of this world!!! It’s always packed, but well worth the wait! My husband loves the sundaes, and the soft serve is very good. Even the hot chocolate during the winter is great.

They had the look going on but the flavors: moose tracks and butter pecan might as well been vanilla with some ‘stuff’. Nothing exceeptional here.

Best Ice cream ever. They make great hot fudge sundaes, too. Try the jersey shore flavors. They don’t disappoint.

Would have given 4 or 5 stars for the ice cream but the kids behind the counter pissed me off. Chocolate soft serve in a very fresh large waffle cone. Chocolate was rich and a great texture. The kids ignored myself and my group. Guess they don’t like out of towners or minorities. Twice I asked why they called on others and both times they picked someone else to serve LOL 2nd best ice cream I have had in Cjerz

I absolutely love this place! I have a tradition with my father that has developed over the summers. We crab from early morning till the afternoon on the river, and then drive over for a cone to Crazees right next door. Rumson is a beautiful area, and Crazees has become a staple in our tradition. Their homemade chocolate chip cookie cones are to die for, and then the ice cream is just heaven. Everything is fresh and the flavors seem endless. You can sit inside or out, either way, you’re bound to enjoy. Crazees is phenomenal.

This is my fav ice cream shop. I take my kids there every Monday after dinner. They serve Thomas Sweets ice cream, and it’s delicious. The staff is always nice, quick and willing to accommodate any need. They make ice cream cakes from hard ice cream, a nice contrast to many of the chain ice cream shop cakes.

For me, ice cream is ice cream. With the exception of some real specialty stuff like from The Bent Spoon in Princeton, it’s all the same. BUT this stuff was good. Mostly bc the hard ice cream was smooth and creamy. They had a few interesting flavors too. Might have to hit this place up more often. Girls behind the counter were friendly.

Great homemade ice creams. I like to get the Jersey Shore(vanilla with salted caramel) on the pretzel cone. It’s not the cheapest ice cream around however if you consider the location it’s really not all that bad.

This is a fun place to stop and grab a quick treat. I love the Jersey shore(vanilla ice cream with salted caramel), midnight jersey shore(chocolate ice cream with chocolate chunks and salted caramel) and the pumpkin pie! I am sure everything else is delicious as well.

Rich and creamy death by chocolate for the wife and I grabbed a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles. Decent spot for dessert while in Rumson. The line moved quickly and the young staffers were fun and willing to help.

The staff is very friendly and I enjoy the ice cream a lot… especially the jersey shore flavor. BUT last time I was here, I had about a 5 inch long hair in my ice cream. It was really gross. Luckily for them it was my first bad experience here and it won’t stop me from coming here… as long as it doesn’t happen again.

Just love the name. It’s the institute for ice cream you know!!! Simple order: two scoops: oreo + cream and mochachino. Heavenly…creamy…buttery sugar fat… unbelievable how rich and creamy. I’m sad it’s prob about two hours from me… but that might actually be a blessing in disguise.

The past 4 times we have gone in about 25 – 30 minutes before closing, the waffle bowl machines are turned off and the kiddie staff won’t make new ones or turn the machines on because then they’d have to clean it again which might make them stay past closing time. We get the Elvis and Moostrax all season when available and we are Rumson residents and I am sick and tired of going in then waiting in line and then being told after waiting they won’t make anymore. Tip: Make extras and if you don’t sell them bag them up and sell the pieces the next day. Tonight we just got back and they had no plain large waffle cones either. Owner/Manager needs to have the kids stop running that place-a-muck!

This business, formerly owned by a local über rich bi-polar man, markets certain specialties(Manic Mixins, Bi-Polar Ice) after psychiatric conditions which is kind of funny in an ignorant sort of way. Also, they use Thomas Sweet ice cream which tastes to me like it is partially made with sickly sweet corn syrup. Therefore the added ingredients within the ice cream get completely lost. This is not to say some won’t enjoy this place as it is within strolling distance of a nice local playground/park alongside the beautiful Navesink River and offers its own parking lot and a plentitude of outdoor benches. You’ll probably be able to find some serviceable treat here that does the trick but true ice cream lovers beware. For my money — especially if I am already in a car — I go the extra mile and a half to Gracie and the Dudes across from the beach in Sea Bright where the owner/manager uses fresh natural ingredients and where the distinctive chocolate ice cream is made in two gallon batches from divine cacao beans bought from a secret source often the very morning I show up to eat some = so good. Or if in the mood for mass produced goodies I go across the Oceanic Bridge into Middletown and get a Blizzard at Dairy Queen by Whole Foods.
