My first Moose Lodge for years! I remember my first time & wondering, why am I going into a place like this? Thirty minutes or less latter, I knew why & didn’t want to leave. So I became a regular & a member. I used to live in this area, so it was quite convenient, now, not so much. Last week I was in the area & had to stop in. It was almost as if time had stood still. Many familiar faces, most sitting in their usual seat. Some newcomer was in the seat I called mine, what nerve of him to sit in my old bar stool! After ordering a top shelf, potent cocktail, for much less than any happy hour price you’ll find, I really started to check out my surroundings. Time had stood still, I didn’t see 1 new item or any additions or improvements. Just my opinion, I think that is acceptable, for an establishment like a Moose Lodge. If not broken, don’t fix it. Once you get inside it’s pretty much, what you see is what you get. Their are no airs. Lot’s of shorts & flip flops. Lone people sitting at the bar, groups talking, people playing pool & darts. A retreat from reality. There are no windows visible, so you don’t care about the time, or the weather, or needing to go to the store, just take that deep breath & exhale. Relax, relaxation is good for all of us. You don’t have to drink an alcoholic beverage, have a soda or juice… whatever you desire. Just do yourself a favor & give yourself some time to breathe & just be you. Forget for a bit what the outside World wants from you. Go ahead & indulge in some«me» time & don’t apologize or make excuses for it, you deserve this time. Start a conversation, I always hear great life stories, conquests of struggle, sage advice & always laughter. What’s a girl to do? Always remember that first & foremost you gotta look after you, or your no good to anybody else.
