One of my favorite places to visit in VT. It’s sort of up the hill but there is always parking out front and it is delicious. The owner will make you pretty much anything coffee or tea wise and has homemade pastries in the front and other options as well. I saw her pouring pure maple syrup on a patrons oatmeal the other day and it looked amazing. Anytime we visit from NJ, I like to make a stop here.

Great bagels and soups! Friendly staff. I try to make it here at least once every time I’m in the Rutland area.

Nice find! Was in the mood for a cup of coffee, so I stopped in here one afternoon. The coffee shop is in a cute area and the coffee I ordered was very hot and tasty. I would absolutely recommend stopping in here to relax with a cup of coffee!

Very cute quaint place and great coffee. My friend ordered a chai latte with almond milk and would give it a «10». Better than a very well known coffee house that starts with ‘S’. I had an iced vanilla honey Carmel latte with almond milk and VERY delicious. Customer service good. Not over the top friendly but very helpful and nice.

Visiting the area, I was looking for a cup of coffee. I Unilocaled coffee and found several in the area. I liked the name of this café, as well as good reviews, so decided to give it a go. I am on my second visit in two days. Day 1: dark roast and just sat and read for a bit. Really, really good dark roast. Day 2: dark roast and granola w yogurt. Both are delicious. Residence and visitors should definitely check this place out — the coffee is really good, atmosphere is pleasant and, if you want a snack, it’s available.

I really enjoy finding places like this in downtown Rutland. It is a fine example of small café’s and coffee shops sparked by the Starbucks trend. But it doesn’t have all of the burden of corporate trimmings. It has spacious seating, no cramped tables and chairs. It has good view of Center Street. The brews are wide ranging from heavy roast to light and sugary. I had a large mug of the Sugarhouse Latte which has a wonderful maple sugar sweetness infused in it. There are eats as well but I hadn’t sampled them. Service is friendly, not overly fast but will serve you to your table when it’s ready if you’re sitting. It is worth the stop if you are thinking coffee and some relaxing sit down, down time. If anything, come in for the wonderful smell of the place!

Good spot! I have been here a half dozen times from out of town and always found it dependable. Baked goods and drinks are excellent– unusually good chai. Slightly expensive menu. I like it because its been around for so long. Always a dependable experience in a relaxing, historic victorian space.

Nice spot! Excellent breakfast sandwiches(with maple boar bacon. YUM!). Great coffee too. Very nicely decorated with vintage cabinets and cool tables. They even have books and board games you can use while sipping your coffee. This is what all coffee shops should be like.

As a visitor to VT, I have had my share of cafes & restaurant experiences. My needs are simple for the modern person: food & beverage, power & wifi. Since I’ve been a mobile faggabond, I’ve come to rely on these kinds of places for my connection to the rest of the world. Speakeasy Café is very friendly, professional, and clean. They serve the locals with great comfort, and the visiting folk no less. We spent an hour or two waiting for a connecting bus here. They are one of the only coffee shops open before all others(7a). The coffee bar boasts a lovely wood service area and brilliant crown & ceiling linoleum. Modern art decorates the walls.

Delicious latte! My test is when it doesn’t need sugar, and this was smooth and creamy. Staff friendly and efficient. Keeping this in my bookmarks for when I’m in town. Oh, banana walnut muffin delicious, too.

Stumbled across this cute café and tried their dark roast and cappuccino. It’s a great spot to catch up on a book or just catch up with friends.

I had a macchiato and a cappucinno– both were excellent and the atmosphere is great too. Bridgette is really nice and has been working at coffee shops in the area for a decade – she seems to know her stuff. Nice to have a good place to get real coffee in Rutland!
