I love food made with love. There is so much tasty love in this delicious food. Go here and be blissful. Love Common Ground/Yellow Deli’s just the best.

Stuck in Rutland with a frozen caliper waiting for it to be fixed. Read the good reviews on Unilocal and wandered over for lunch. And I’m lovin’ it! Great ambiance, delicious food, attentive staff. Tried a mate drink for the first time(with mango juice) and it was delicious — we’ll see if it gives me the energy I need for the 4.5 hour drive home. The lentil soup was delicious, and the sourdough bread that comes with it as well. The cashew cranberry salad was also delicious, along with the raisin bread that came with it. I would highly recommend the Yellow Deli.

4 stars for atmosphere 3 stars for menu. Amazingly cool place with a limited menu mainly overpriced undersized sandwhiches. Friendly staff and it’s even a «pay what you can» hostel.

Very interesting place. Nice decoration and outstanding food. I ordered Butternut Squash soup and Deli Rose sandwich. Both were delicious. Their Hot apple cider is something you must to try too. The stuff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful cozy restaurant. The food is as amazing as the pure natural décor. The people are just wonderful and friendly. Stop in for a hot cup of fresh pressed apple cider. You won’t be disappointed. We also got the Ruben sandwich on homemade light rye bread. Unbelievable! Do yourself a favor and visit this rustic hidden gem! We will definitely be back with family and friends.

I was in the Chaffee Art Centeer’s Art in the Park event this weekend, and The Yellow Deli was represented there. I have no idea how they get their squash soup and chili and sourdough bread so out of this world! The egg and cheese sandwich on a poppyseed bun I had for breakfast was the eggiest and cheesiest I’ve ever had! Wow! The guys bringing food around to our booths were the nicest people. I wish I had known the deli was in town, I would have gone for supper. If their food booth at the show is what they do, count me in!!!

I’m here right now. I came here once a few years before I joined Unilocal and I loved it then, too. The food is great, the people are too. The owners are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is nice and unique. Great for a meal with friends or just to come read a book. Reasonable prices. This restaurant is like something out of the shire. Wish we had one in NYC.

I’d seen the hiker’s hostel several times walking down Center St, but had never really noticed the Yellow Deli. We were thrilled with our choices and enjoyed every bite. They start with great ingredients and combine them to perfection. I will definitely be going back!

The Green Mountain Club on homemade pumpernickel is wonderful with maple mustard and Vermont cheddar. You can design your own sandwiches, too. Fun and friendly vibe, plus close to AT for thru hikers using the hostel next door.

You can’t go wrong with a sandwich(I vote veggie burger) or soup of the day from this local shop. It’s a great place to meet someone(open 24⁄5) and drink an iced chai or mate beverage.

I like the vibes of this place a lot. I was in town for work and this place is so unique and different. A 24⁄5 café and a hostel for hikers. I definitely think some of the staff are friendlier than others and they definitely have a hippy way of life that might make you feel like you’re the weird one, but overall really excellent food and great atmosphere. I had the cashew salad which has craisins and lots of veggies and cubed cheese. I added cubed turkey to it which was great. The cinnamon raisin bread they serve with it was ridiculously good. I lovedddd the green mate(almond milk) latte that I had as well. Plus their prices are super fair and they do have wifi(which wasn’t the best connection but is ok for a short period of use). Definitely check this place out!

Wide variety of tea. Had a breakfast sandwich with delicious fresh veggies but wasn’t crazy about the ketchup like sauce. Open 24⁄5

So to get back to what is important and away from what their religious beliefs or social ideals pertain, I will talk about my experience. This is a great place to go if you want to slow down with a loved one and enjoy something out of the norm, this place is very unique in design and holds to its roots, wooden everything, hand carved accents and great blue grass music. My fiancée and I both got the soup of the day, which was an awesome tomato soup with a home made touch, I got mine with sourdough, she with the artisan bread, both of which were perfect for the soup, and I got the green mountain club. I highly recommend both as they were executed perfectly with perfect portions for a spring walk around the city after. The staff was very attentive and polite the entire time. For tea lovers its a great place to try a new blend, I would recommend any of the Mate’s.

This place is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Rutland. Definitely the best place to get sandwiches or soup from. All their desserts are great too!

An absolute jewel in the middle of «nowhere». As a skier we often head to Killington from our home base in Philly. Our trips usually end with a final shortened day of skiing and 6+ hour drive home. We’re usually hunger, thirsty and cold. While driving down the main highway our options for decent food looked sparse. We decided to drive into downtown Rutland — just off the main road, and spotted this bright yellow sign just around the corner from the main light. When you walk in, you’re immediately presented with a décor that’s beyond anything you could imagine. Incredible ceiling tiles, real natural wood railings, seats carved into real tree trunks and wonderfully homey fireplaces. The staff was also extremely friendly and willing to please. The menu was loaded with exceptional items that made our mouths water. We’re near-vegetarians so it was great to see several items on the menu that fit the bill. I had a veggie burger and a creamy potato soup. Both were out of this world. Every member of our group of four loved their different meals. Their drinks are also extremely diverse and just as good as the rest of their fare. This is a place I wish I lived closer to. As it is, it will now be a permanent stop on our trips up from here on out.

Loved the ambiance, I felt like I was walking into a restaurant at Disneys Country Bear Jamboree, with the blue grass music playing and wooden/country décor, however Yellow Deli is legit! The two fireplaces running burn actual wood and the unique tables provide an atmosphere that made me glad I passed the Panera Bread and came here instead. The menu is limited to soups salads and sandwiches, as well as breakfast items, but it’s all very wholesome and healthy! They have an extensive tea and non-alcoholic drink menu, which makes their 24 hour service seem even that much more exciting! Food was great, service was friendly but the setting takes the cake… Can’t wait to go back!

You cannot go wrong with the Deli Rose sandwich, and the homemade root beer is, without a doubt, the best root beer anywhere. Ever. Also, for some interesting follow-up, read up on the twelve tribes.
