Stopped here on the way out of town after a show at the Capital Theater. I am so very glad we did. I had one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long long time. Their eggs are all from a local farm and you can tell the difference. I’m assuming the people working there are the owners and I’m also guessing it’s a small family run place. You can tell they take pride in what they’ve built. Be prepared to get a full on explanation of their breakfasts. If I lived close to this place … I’d weigh 100 pounds more.

I don’t usually like scones because they are so dry. These are on another level! I had peach scone and my GF had date walnut. SOGOOD. today’s specials were eggs in purgatory and crab and goat cheese omelet. Both great. If you are looking for a classic American great home cooking style breakfast with pancakes eggs sausage and great coffee. this is the place. And the vibe is traditional small town charm. It was perfect for a Sunday morning brunch.

I wish I was local so I could go more often. I went here while I was in New Cannan for work and we were looking for a solid, hardy breakfast — something that isn’t easy to find when traveling for work with a small timeline. I ordered a dish that was on the specials list and I will say, it has changed my entire way of eating eggs. They made poached eggs but instead of using just water to boil and poach, they did it in tomato sauce. It added flavor, spice and was a delicious sauce to accompany my breakfast. Since then, it inspired me to do the same and even take it a step further, salsa/hot sauce. This café was delightful. Great mum and pop vibe, kind servers and cashier, great food with a wonderful taste and not too hard on the pocketbook. Again, if I could, I would be a regular!

GREAT breakfast! Had a cheese omelette and shared a short stack of blueberry pancakes with my friend. Eggs were delicious and pancakes were among the best I’ve ever had. Friendly, attentive service and nice ambience.

Great place! Short menu, everything is fresh and delicious. Must try!!! The cakes, the eggs, the pancakes, the bacon-egg-and-cheese! It is all absolutely to die for. Love coming here for weekend breakfast. Just be mindful that this is a small place(so sometimes you might have to wait to be seated, even at the bar area) and it is CASHONLY(there is an ATM machine on site though). Enjoy!

Small place, very friendly service, and great food. What more can you you ask for? We went for breakfast. The Eggs in Purgatory and the crab & goat cheese omelet were delicious. Freshly baked crumb cake was so good we had to order an extra one to take home. The delkcious organic and freshly made food far out weighs the small menu selections and cash only draw back. We definitely will go back to try their lunch menu.

Great find — had their«Eggs in Purgatory» — poached eggs on toasted Tuscan bread with tomato sauce with parmigiana cheese that was absolutely amazing. Ordered a coconut and chocolate scone(usually have low expectations) but it was wonderful, toasted warm oozing with butter. The freshly brewed coffee was exceptional. Service was friendly and very attentive. Off the beaten path but worth the trip.

Nice hostess who asked us where we were from and gave us tips about what to see in the area. The food was good though not huge portions. Cash only.

Went in with low expectations but left having eaten one of the tastiest philly cheese steaks(hold the mushrooms) in my life… And I’m saying that having recently been in philly and eaten at the famous«sonny’s». This was better. My girlfriend ordered a cheddar bacon burger which was also outstanding. These chefs know what they’re doing. The wait staff is very friendly as well!

The most amazing freshly baked crumb cake ever! Also, the home fries are to die for. The zombie latte made my morning and the owner makes a happy face latte for springtime. Food is fresh, owners and staff are extremely friendly. We had the Eggs in Purgatory and crab and goat cheese omelette-delicious. We’ll be back for the pancakes and parmesan and chive omelette! Awesome little getaway breakfast place for me and my boyfriend.

We decided to try On the Way based on the reviews. I was not impressed with their food or their service. My pancakes, which I had high hopes for based on reviews, were served cold. Our eggs were fine, but nothing special. I ordered a double toasted English muffin with my meal and it came out lightly toasted. We weren’t brought syrup or the butter on the side that we ordered. We kept having to ask for things that would normally be given to us. The food was a lot more expensive than other comparable breakfast places with similar menus, and the portions are smaller. We will not be going back and still searching for our go-to weekend breakfast place.

Stopped by for Sunday brunch. We are new to the area, and our stove is broken, so we have been on a tear of local restaurants. This place, in the back of a small market and gas station, is full of charm and reeks of hole in the wall when you walk in. Kids ordered blueberry pancakes, and my wife and I ordered omelettes. Fantastic food! Pancakes were stretchy and doughy, eggs were perfectly prepared, and the price was right!

Looked for a great brunch place in Unilocal and found«On The Way Café». What a find! The place is neat and inviting and hidden behind a gas station, «on the way» to Playland. The menu is innovative and full of delicious choices. I had the egg white frittata, and it was flavorful and healthy. The coffee was strong and robust. I will be back to taste the burgers that the owner cooed about while we were there!

Just had breakfast with my boyfriend before going to Rye Playland. It was a little pricy but the food was good and such nice people working there.

Great little diner type restaurant, but with a fine dining twist. Really glad to have found this place! I came on a recommendation and was instantly impressed. Recently saw that it got a nice right up in the Times, so Im sure many more folks will be grabbing a seat at the counter. I came for lunch, however I’ll be back soon to check out the breakfast menu. It is located just across the street from the entrance to Playland Park, which means you can go for a stroll along the boardwalk after you chow down. I tried the tomato soup special and built my own burger. The burger was scrumptious and very well cooked. Parking is a little tight for this location out front, but there is a lot around back if you go down the side street behind the market next door. And think about riding your bike because the roads around here are very bicycle friendly. Looking forward to making this a regular spot on my future brunch adventures :)

My boyfriend and I both got the breakfast corner set and shared an order of short stack pancakes. The food was really great; the eggs were cooked perfectly. The pancakes were light and fluffy as well. The only downside would be the price, but I would definitely come back again because it’s worth it!
