I am doing an update to my previous post. I spoke with the district manager shortly after our initial dining experience. He invited us to come back and see the changes they made. It took me awhile to work up the enthusiasm to go back, however we did. We were a party of 6 people. This time we were on the 1st floor. The server was very attentive– drink orders were taken right away. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the pasta was not dry, like last time. The server checked on us frequently. I am also glad to report that this restaurant now celebrates birthdays if asked. The servers sang a happy birthday type song to the table near us. I did not see if a dessert was a part of the deal, but at least there was a song. With drinks and dinners I spent around $ 275 that evening. All in all a good dining experience– food tasted good, service was great and we will return.

Our favorites are the Linguine Fruitti di Marre and Fried Calamari. The Fruitti di Marre always has tons of seafood and the perfect amount of spice. We love the spicy marinara that comes with the fried calamari. Take out portions aren’t as big as their dine-in but still as delicious.

I cannot count how many A– mazing encounters we’ve had here! EVERYONE on this staff truly comes together to give you & yours a great experience. From the front of the house to the back– between the host, server, manager & chef– this place is the ‘poster child ‘for customer service!!! Honestly from Mikel & Brian up front to Vincenzo the servicer, to Jeff Feccia the GM& Jeff Mitchel the head chef… this place has it all. Friendly, reasonable, amazing food, best of all it comes w/love keep on keeping on Buca!!! p. s having my bridal party there. Yeah we’re a smart people

My family & I went here and after we left, everyone was complaining on my Facebook wall & ruined my birthday. I definitely won’t be going here again. Portions weren’t big enough for what you pay for. Not worth the Price. Waitress told us that they were good size portions. Not true at all. Don’t waste your money on this place. Go somewhere else.

I used to really like this place. Food experience is cool, sharing is awesome and the menu is diverse. I don’t, however, appreciate having to wait 45 minutes for our orders. Tables are not cleared fast enough and refills are not made unless we ask. Even bread, it took them 15 minutes to deliver. Something need to be done about efficiency in this place for sure.

Our server Nikki. was such a great waitress we we’re in a loud party room and quickly she was on it to find us a new table without even having to ask. The food was great and and I’ll definitely be coming back. Cause of her

This is a five star meal! Family style dining in a place that has great staff and great atmosphere. The pope room is awesome for that special event. I have eaten here many time before but was lazy about rating it. This is a definite must visit. The food is spectacular, service perfect and management makes it. A point to stop by your table and check in. Again. Great for family. We love it here.

First and probably last time here. Called a few days in advance to make a reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday. Upon arrival we were else aged quickly. However the service during the rest of the stay was less than. Bread is underwhelming. Every Italian restaurant should serve a decent quality bread! Waitress was friendly and helpful with dish suggestions, but service took ridiculously long. It took over an hour to receive our pasta dishes which included: lasagna, spicy chicken rigatoni, pasta Alfredo, and prosciutto stuffed chicken. We were told the chicken would take the longest to order but we received all dishes but the lasagna at once. The lasagna was brought out last and then we had to request more Alfredo sauce for the otherwise dry noodles. At some point our waitress dipped out and out server took over. The taste of the food was not bad. However, my boyfriend, the birthday boy, found a piece of plastic in his lasagna! The server took away the dish and was unable to remake our lasagna because the kitchen would be closing soon… that was disappointing. Buca did not charge us for that dish. The manager came out and apologized and offered us a free dessert. All in all we were at the restaurant for nearly 2.5 hours waiting for our food(for a part of 4) and the tab. I did notice that they have a generous membership club, so I’d only return with a coupon and time to kill.

We came to Buca because we had a gc. We thought they were going to busy, since the parking lot is jammed pack. Upon walking in the hostess saw us made eye contact and abruptly turned away. We waited over 5 minutes to have someone seat us and that was after I walked in the kitchen. The manager/Michael came to the front and he was nice but he made excuses for the hostess. But no reason for excuses. The hostess should not have left Hee work station or should have had the manager come over to cover while she went to the restroom. Once seated our wait person Nikki was so personable but it does appear that all the wait people are over worked or there just short staffed. Nikki was absolutely fantastic. Still have a bad taste in the mouth from the hostess and the manager You would think at least once the manager Michael would come by to see how things are doing Not once. I take that back we got desert and he delivered it but never asked how the food or the service was. Nikki should be the manager not Michael. Or at least give her a raise The food was good the service from Nikki is what is what saved the day. Front staff service. Negative 5 Service from manager Michael 2 Service from Nikki. 10000 stars The only reason to come back is Nikki Ask to be seated in Nikki’s section– it’s worth it

I always love coming for dinner at this fine establishment. Tonight, we had a server named, Doss. He was very kind & offered his expertise while ordering our family size plates. We skipped lunch and came to eat dinner so Doss was surprised that we devoured our 2 entrees, salad & side of broccoli only taking home a small portion of the baked ziti. Everything was cooked to precision and was done so in a timely manner. Baked ziti, eggplant parmesan, Caesar salad & broccoli is what we had along with the complimentary bread with oil/balsamic vinaigrette. The food was piping hot and bursted with so many flavors. Perfect amount of sweet & savory along with a nice crunch from the steamed broccoli. MMMM!!! We made a reservation and were sat early, which is awesome!!! Buca Di Beppo is hands down, my favorite restaurant! Especially, after getting engaged there.

I’ve always, ALWAYS wanted to try this place so you can only imagine the amount of excitement I had when I was told that my «Holiday Friendsmas Dinner» was going to be at BDP this year! We have a total party of 20 and were told we were going to be seated in the banquet room, but were actually just seated within the same dining area as everyone else. Fair warning, if you have a party of 10 or more, they will not seat you unless everyone from your party is present. When we were finally seated, it took about 20 minutes until we received our first dish. We ordered«family style» which meant we ordered big dishes of the favorite Italian dishes from everyone and then just passed those plates around the table. This makes the dinner so much more intimate and everyone gets to talk about how much they like or dislike this dish. I highly recommend ordering this way, plus it’s cheaper with big parties. Let me apologize now, as I don’t have that many foodie pics, but kudos to Israel for letting me charge my iPhone in the To-Go area, major kudos! Just as I imagined, the food here is delicious for not being a ma n’ pop shop. My absolute favorrrrrrrite dish was the Chicken Cabanara– Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bottom line, if your thinking about ordering something on the menu, just order it. The food is yummy here!

If you like large portions, this is the place for you. Best to go with large groups and be in a festive atmosphere. The noise level is almost deafening in here at times, specifically the weekends. Pretty friendly place, always busy on the weekends, and the seating can be tight at times. Pasta rules here and there are several choices to choose from. Most have very rich cream sauces and are very tasty, but don’t be in a diet when you go to this place. They don’t skimp on the calories. The best idea is to do family style, and try several plates. I don’t recommend the large portion if you have 3 or less, but you can always box items to go and they hold very well for a few days. There have been several times that I have gotten 2 or more meals out of the to-go portions. My favorite for some reason is the spicy sausage pizza, served on a huge platter elevated over the table on two large cans of tomato sauce. Never go to this place WITHOUT a $ 10 coupon. They always have one either online, thru signing up for their club, or in those mailers you get at home.

An old standby that still serves up delicious Italian fare, served family style. I had some girlfriends from out of town visiting, one of whom was running the CIM(marathon) the next day. So what better place to take her for carb-loading than Buca di Beppo? I was thinking to feed 4 hungry women, we would need 2 entrees, a salad, an appetizer, and bread. I did say we were hungry… in fact, bordering on hangry because even though I made a reservation online, we were told by the hostess that«they’re running behind on seating reservations,» so we still waited at least 15 minutes. What’s the purpose of a reservation then? Anyways, we agreed on a large garlic bread, a large gorgonzola apple salad, and a large chicken carbonara(one of the most popular dishes, according to our server). Without an appetizer or even an additional small main entrée, it was plenty of food. I even took home a little leftover pasta and bread. I would opt for the cheesy garlic bread next time. The plain garlic bread was boring and they cut it into small, almost bite-sized pieces, which I didn’t care for. The salad was loaded with sliced green apples, walnuts, cranberries and gorgonzola cheese, on top of romaine lettuce and served with the house Italian dressing. It was so good. Ask your server for extra dressing when you order. It’s a huge salad; you’ll need it. The carbonara was a rich and creamy white sauce mixed with spaghetti noodles, bacon, peas, and chicken. OHMYGOODNESS! It was really tasty, although I had to add a little more salt and parmesan cheese on top. Just be sure to mix it up really well before serving so that you get every little delicious ingredient on your plate. We each had a second heaping helping of everything and we all felt like we needed to run a marathon after dinner to settle our full tummies! Our server was friendly enough but it was hard to track him down when we needed something. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, and the timing of each course being served to us was perfect. Fun atmosphere and good food. Go with a group and enjoy!

Upon my unpleasant visit at a San Jose location, someone had contacted me about my concerns and asked to give Buca another shot. I was in the Sac area, so I decided to grab dinner at this location. I made a reservation at 3:30PM for 5PM that same day. The hostess over the phone was very accommodating. She did mention that typically they don’t take reservations in less than 2 hours, but she was very attentive to my needs and reserved me a table anyways(as they weren’t busy). The service at this location was much better! The server was excellent as well! I wish I remembered his name, but he was very attentive to anything we needed. My table and I ordered the chopped antipasto salad, a veggie pizza, the baked ziti, and the Parmesan eggplant. Each dish was EXCELLENT and delicious. I did not have any complaints surprisingly. After this experience, I have definitely re-gained confidence in the food and service that Buca can provide.

I literally live right across the street from this location. During lunch time I’ll stop by after class and grab a dish to take home and eat. Being that I’m so lazy with cooking this is perfect for all my Italian food wanting needs. I usually get helped by this young man(28?) h s always super friendly and really attentive to my needs! Any other time I go the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Each dish I’ve tried as been absolutely delicious and never regret it. Once I even had room for dessert and got the Italian Wedding cake I believe, not exactly sure the name. It was creamy and delicious! Usually after dinner I’m so stuffed but sometimes I can challenge myself for a dessert! If you’re in the area stop by and give it a try, they’re so delicious!

Well, today I felt extremely lazy and didn’t want to cook. I called a few places in my area that state«Delivery», on their site. The Spaghetti looks fab, so I tried the delivery option, but it wouldn’t accept my order. Hmmmmm. Getting frustrated I called. I spoke to a fast talking receptionist that placed me on hold few seconds. As I listened to Dean Martins’, ” Thats Amoure’, and singing along, I couldn’t wait for Italian food! When she returned, I asked if they delivered. She said, «Yes! as long as it’s over $ 200.00. I said«What, I’m sorry. I must have misheard you. Did you say over $ 200.00??». She stated they do not take any orders less than that. Really? ! So she referred me to GrubHub. In my opinion, why have a Delivery option??? Wow… I am very slowly losing my appetite. But, loved Dean Martin!

The portions are huge and ordering food for pick up is really easy, fast and convenient if you don’t feel like going in and sitting at a restaurant. If you sign up for their rewards you get a lot of good deals like $ 20 off of 2 pastas or 20% off. The food has far been very good and you can get plates, utensils etc to go. They have two extra parking spots and small window inside just for the pick up orders. I will be back especially if I keep getting sent deals!

Years ago Howe & Hurley(H&H) crossings was the destination to replenish liquid candy into your liver. Whether it be happy hour after work or a weekend binge, H&H never failed to meet expectations on a buzz spree. This was my return to the area after several years of MIA. Buca di Beppo remains to be unshaken by the brutal economy while other popular establishments are long gone. Typically it’s a full house, but the total opposite during lunch midweek. Our table was immediately available with no wait time. The noise level was just perfect to have a quality conversation. Our lunch started out with Fried Calamari then the Chopped Antipasto Salad. Linguine Frutti di Mare was the main dish and lastly tiramisu for dessert. It’s a matter of preference, but their tiramisu lacked the rum factor. Above all, everything tasted great. Perfect during midweek if you want to avoid the crowd. Ideal for family functions or large groups in general. A well rounded place for any occasion.

I am a fan of this chain restaurant! Like others have stated it is a great place for large parties and groups. I have been coming to this location for years for birthday celebrations or dinners with co-workers. My most recent visit was with my Hubby, kiddos and my mother so not a large group but a group that has large appetites. We arrived last Friday after 6, a bit late due to that dam 99⁄80 traffic. Luckily my mother had arrived so they did not give our table away. We were quickly seated and given water and menus. Our server came over to greet us, and questioned if we had ever eaten at Buca before. They want to make sure you know this restaurant is family style and has some large portions so you do not over do it. I love the Linguine Frutti di Mare but Hubby is allergenic and kids say no Thanks. So we settled on: –Garlic Mozzarella Bread– Large –Fried Calamari-Large –Cesar Salad– Large –Linguine Frutti di Mare– Small –Margherita half/Pepperoni half Pizza — Large –Stuffed Chicken –Small Everything came pretty fast and we dove in. Sadly they forgot to put in for our salad but once we noticed we realized we had enough food. The Linguine Frutti di Mare is still may favorite and surprisingly the pizza was actually very tasty. Our server(though forgetting salad) was wonderful. Large personality and it was even larger when he sang me some birthday song in Italian! Here is a tip: *Make reservations! This place gets very busy and packed with families every Friday night. Even if it is going to be two of you, make a reservation! *Use any Coupons, it helps. You can find them online or in any Coupon book. Cheers!
