Great atmosphere and some nice cocktails. Beautiful décor and kitchen but unfortunately the dinner fell short. Appetizers were the truffle tots. They were good. Broke apart, guess they are delicate. The tuna ahi was not vibrant in color or fresh tasting at all. A mushy brown appearance. so disappointing. DThe shrimp over pile of potatoes was ok. Garlicky sauce at bottom of plate warranted some bread to sop it up. Braised short ribs over mushroom risotto. Hmmm the meat was literally a cut chunk of something that was slow cooked. Not resembling a short rib I have ever made or paid for in a restaurant. No sear on the meat, no depth of flavor. The risotto was cooked properly but the jus drizzled on top made it really watery. Wife ordered the New York. But they were out of it on a Sunday at 5pm. They offered up flank steak instead. The potatoes weren’t cooked through, the Demi glacé was decent and broccoli rabe was good though. Sadly, this meal didn’t even warrant pictures. I would actually still go back, especially for brunch as I’m sure they can execute that well. Overall, this was a very pedestrian meal but at least the price didn’t hurt the wallet too much.

Good eats! This was my first time dining here and came recommended by veteran friend Unilocalers. I wanted to thank Brooke, who took my call, and her manager for allowing me to book last minute for a big party and accommodating me and my group in such a short notice. Being how popular this restaurant is, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get a table two days prior to my event but after speaking to her Manager she got back on the phone and asked me «for what time?» yay! The restaurant was very modern and contemporary with stylish couches and throw pillows. This section was behind the bar where there was a small window/opening and right above was a flat screen TV. The restaurant was spacious. The tables were not so close to each other. There was plenty of open space and lots of room to walk and maneuver your way in and out. I ordered the Cafeteria Burger with mixed greens while hubby chose the Border Burger with fries. I actually thought our server asked me if I wanted«mixed drinks» so I said«sure»… then I got my salad instead. LoL! The Cafeteria burger was your basic burger with the lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions placed on the side. Good that they did this because I always take out the pickles and onions on my burgers. Hubby’s Border burger came with guacamole, pepper jack cheese, roasted peppers, chipotle mayonnaise. We both enjoyed our meals but will definitely try the other entrees when we come back. The restroom. Can I just say something about the restrooms. I came in to wash my hands from having to touch my burger. I don’t like touching my phone with greasy hands. Anyway, as I preceded to wash my hands I looked up and I could see men on the other side of this transparent looking wall or window. Um, different :-/ Our servers were awesome, very attentive to our party. Valet parking is $ 5. Our reservation was at peak dining hours at 6:30p on a rainy Friday night so free parking was scarce.

Why I haven’t reviewed this place sooner blows my mind. We have had many business meetings, date nights, dinner with friends before dancing and other wonderful memories over the last few years here. Valet is convenient and my man is friends with the owner so if we don’t have a reservation when it’s busy a table will magically appear. Aside from being bias, I really really genuinely love the food here. I can go from healthy to fat mode here and my tastebuds are left happy either way My go to dish when I want to eat something on the healthier side is the roasted chicken. It is very juicy and tasty(so maybe it’s not completely healthy??) and I always substitute the sides with other things(curse of being a waitress a decade ago). I usually substitute it with mashed potatoes and Brussle sprouts, broccolini or green beans… Whichever they have! All those veggies are delicious here! If I want to be a fatty(my true self) I choose the grilled cheese sandwich. Being a grilled cheese connoisseur I absolutely, 100% stand by the fact this is the best grilled cheese sandwich! Must try! The cheese is nice and gooey and compliments the sour dough and in the middle of this heavenly tasting goodness is thick ham which is the cherry on top… Well in this case the middle. I usually get it with salad to trick my mind into thinking I’m making good decisions. Trio fries, Mac and cheese, short rib puffs, sliders, bacon Brussle sprouts and the list goes on… they have a long list of great appetizers to indulge in! Their mango sorbet is to die for if you want some dessert! And they have a lovely cocktail menu… Barbie bubbles is a lovely sweet girly drink I enjoy with dinner. The atmosphere is very sheik and has been a great place for business and pleasure. Highly recommend the cafeteria!

I had my birthday party here back in October, now just getting around to writing a review. Our server was super nice, and brought us bread and butter when I asked(since we were going out drinking), although they don’t normally do that. It was a large party of 10, which is hard to handle but the server was constantly checking up on us and taking new drink orders. Food was okay, I didn’t think it was worth the price. They were small portions, and it was pretty expensive. Drinks were really good, probably because the other side of the restaurant is a club at night, which focuses on drinks so they have extensive experience making them. I thought it was kind of ridiculous that they don’t even do birthday desserts. One of my friends had to buy something for me. For a party of 10, and a huge tab, they couldn’t even give me a scoop of free ice cream? That was pretty lame. It was an ok choice for my birthday, but I don’t think I’ll return. I can find better food, bigger portions, and better prices elsewhere.

The way that Caferteria 15L is decorated I would give it a 5. It is a massive space yet makes you feel like it’s intimate. Unfortunately the food did not match up to the décor. The kids mac and cheese was a good size order and came with a side of grapes, carrot and celery sticks and a cookie. What kid wouldn’t like that? I had the shrimp scampi and thought it was good but not mind blowing. My wife had the salmon and was disappointed as it didn’t taste very fresh. We ended with the butterscotch blondie which had a good flavor but was a little dry. Decent food with a great ambiance in downtown.

Brian and I came here after sipping on some beers and sangrias from Karma. The walk from Point A to Point B wasn’t so bad, but it was enough to burn off some of that alcohol and of course the food from Cafeteria 15L. Location: Cafeteria 15L can be easily missed. Be aware that it’s right on the corner of 15th and L street. Also, parking is mostly street unless you prefer the valet people to take care of your vehicle. However, as long as you’re in the area where the IMAX theater is at, you definitely know you’re in the right spot! Ambiance: I love the modern yet casual setting at Cafeteria 15L. It’s ideal for a few friends that might want to take some sips from Bottomless Mimosas or perhaps maybe a date night as well. The restaurant can be good for a family with kids as well, but it seems like the popular customers that come here are either couples or group of adults. Food: Brian and I ordered the Truffle Tater Tots, Cafeteria Bacon Cheeseburger, and Meat Loaf with greens. All of the dishes we had were beautifully presented and of course super flavorful. The hi light of the evening was their Truffle Tater Tots and of course the fries that came with the Cafeteria Burger. I would have to say their speciality is the way how they deep fried our food and how everything tastes fresh! Customer Service: I like the advanced technology they use for taking orders and making reservations. It’s very Eco-friendly and we don’t have to deal with those annoying pagers when waiting for our table. The hostesses at the front desk were super friendly and accommodating, but our server seemed like she was either tired or in a bad mood. Overall: I am a fan of this place! The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. I’ll consider checking this place out again soon during their brunch times!

4.5 stars! Pleasantly surprised by this place. We spent the weekend in Sacramento celebrating my beau’s birthday and watching the Kings/Warriors and wanted a nice brunch place to cap off our weekend before heading back to SF. When we arrived, the wait was 30 – 45 minutes for a table so we sat at the bar(open seating and full service). We found a place near the end of the bar and ordered. Food came out quickly and the service at the bar was exceptional! The space is large and open. I was surprised the wait for a table for 2 was so long because they had so many open tables. I saw some families/strollers so it’s definitely a family-friendly place while being sort of lively at the same time(we sat next to some rowdy«Sunday funday» bros at the bar). They had a huge screen and lots of tv’s with football on. Also large couches for people ordering drinks and waiting for tables. The food was delicious! Again, I’m a SF foodie and wasn’t expecting too much from the Sac food scene so this was a pleasant surprise. We got the two egg breakfast, a biscuit, the wild berry pancakes and an extra order of the thick-cut bacon. Potatoes were PERFECTION and the pancakes were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I’m pretty picky about my biscuits so I was happy when they served a flaky, buttery, biscuit that wasn’t too dense. We were a bit too ambitious with our ordering and had to pack up some food to-go but I’m already looking forward to those leftovers. If you’re staying in the area, I would highly recommend the brunch here!

Cafeteria 15L is a solid modern American bar and grill located on the boundary between downtown and midtown Sacramento. They are part of the large complex on 15th& L — hence their name — that includes the Asian restaurant and nightclub. The restaurant is large and modern with a huge bar and seating area. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is nice. The menu is standard American fare with a modern twist. Lots of sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, and big salads. I have been here for lunches and banquets and really love their mac and cheese and French dip sandwiches. Their bacon and blue cheese salad is also very nice. Other options are good, but nothing really spectacular. Staff are friendly and helpful which is always a plus. This is a perfect work lunch spot or brunch with the in-laws. They are a nice place, but nothing too exotic for even the most picky eaters. Some may be a little bored, but the interior looks nearly as good as most of the eye candy eating inside or walking outside.

Finally tried brunch here and it was amazing! Ordered the chicken and waffles. I was a bit hesitant with ordering this because I normally don’t like chicken breast, but decided to try it anyways with the gravy on the side instead of over the chicken & waffles. So glad I tried it… Chicken was very crispy and juicy and the waffles were fluffy and soft. The portions are huge here so plan on taking a lot to-go. This place is connected to the Park Ultra Lounge which is a nightclub, but the place is very modern. Definitely will come back for the food again!

My First visit for dinner. I decided to bring a fellow Unilocaler from Idaho. It was a very quiet evening for the Holidays. Our server was a very pleasant young lady that was very attentive. She offered up the Happy Hour menu for a beverage and appetizer and recomended the shrimp and shoe strings. We had that and the sliders. Both were very tasty and very fresh for a quiet evening. I had the meat loaf and my friend had the Short rib. Both dishes were very good. I should have ordered the Short rib as I did nor care much for the super sweet sauce on the meat loaf. The portions were good and very filling. Green bean cooked perfect with a crunch when you bit into them. The mash was good and the gravy was so so! All in all a pleasant evening with good food and cocktails with a fellow Boise Unilocaler!

Solid 4 star with 5 star elements. Cafeteria is The Park. The ambiance alone is a winner– eclectic and tastefully fanciful. You really are walking into an experience which I love. I’m a patio fanatic and I have yet to find a place in Sac that comes close to the Cafeteria/The Parks outside seating. The food is solid. My particular dish today(Mexican scramble) was good but it didn’t blow my mind. I was hoping for more meat and peppers and less tots but the flavors were good. I will 1000% go back to try more of their brunch options. The service is top notch. First of all, the staff is plain old good looking. Not a hair out of place or a pound over weight. And they are professional, Observant, and quick. Here is what I would say in regards to brunch– Looks like a reservation is a must if you want guarantee seating w/o a wait. We went around 11am and all they had was the bar and patio w/o waiting. Now that it’s cold– bring a jacket and enjoy the cool patio! There is also parking for $ 5 on the side if you’re like me and have no patience.

OMG I love this restaurant! I’m just sorry it took us so long to come and eat here. After our last YEE Joe invited us to brunch here at Cafeteria 15L& go shopping afterwards to the Sacramento Arts Festival! I asked Joe do you have ESP or mental telepathy??? I’ve been meaning to try Cafeteria 15L for a long while and even more so now knowing that they have patio seating! I know I have to now wait another five months for great patio weather! Oh well something to look forward to and bring my review up to five stars! Parking around here on a rainy Sunday morning was rough!!! We just decided to park at Capitol Centre garage for a six dollar flat rate. But the open parking area next to the restaurant was five dollars if you can find a spot! Good luck! Lol! Now you know why we don’t come downtown to eat! But I’m depriving myself of these restaurants! As we sat down looking at the menu and waiting for Joe and Ida to show up we took pics of the restaurant inside. I liked the trendy openness of the restaurant plus it was larger than we expected! Two of us got the Farm Skillet which basically was a veggie scramble. I got the Mexican Skillet which had chicken chorizo onions and pepper jack cheese scrambled in eggs with toast(switched out the tortillas) & tater tots. It was delish! And I was in foodie heaven! Joe got his veggie omelette plus he absolutely made sure he got it in his low sodium style! Hats off to him for doing that as he is certainly proactive about taking care of his health. It was totally a perfect breakfast/brunch date with both Ida and Joe that hopefully we meet again soon. That made eating at this establishment a wonderfully enjoyable one that we can’t wait to come back! Before I forget their bathrooms were so unusual that when you were washing your hands and you look up you were facing the men who were washing their hands. No I didn’t have a mimosa for brunch!!! Lmao! That was so freaking strange! How did they do that!!! Anyway the experience here was so positive that you know we will be back:-) Luckily we got here at ten bc when we left they were jam packed at eleven plus people waiting for an open table!!! OMG! Lol!

Its happmy hour is probably the most attractive in town. It has an amazing location, a decent indoor deco and a classy garden. We got an indoor place that night short before happy hour end. We gaspped the time and ordered some small plates like Ahi Tuna, BBQ sliders burger ect. The quantity is enough for me as one meal. However for my favorite dich Ahi tuna, the wonton chips seem too greasy. Chips I had in MIX were better. I ordered a dirty Martini which tasted unfortunately awful… I gave them another chance for Rasperry Mohito and that worked. After the meal we went to the garden and sat on the VIP seats for chilling out. Not like other classy bars, no personal came and threw us out. Its quite fun to watch different people with interesting outfits ;))

Four stars for FANTASTIC food. We stopped by after watching Star Wars at the nearby IMAX theater for what was to be just a drink and to discuss the movie. It turned into us ordering a couple of fantastic and cooked-to-order burgers. Drippy, juicy, delicious burgers. The prices were reasonable and it wasn’t too busy for a Saturday night. We were seated right away, actually. The music was meh but that didn’t distract from the nice setting and — again — great burgers. We would stop by again! Thanks!
