This place doesn’t even deserve one star!!! I went to dinner with a friend and noticed that the place is so empty… like a very depressing atmosphere lol. Anyways we were so hungry and won’t hurt to give a try. First of all, food was so disgusting!!! Food tasted like frozen food… I think Walmart frozen food is even better that their food. Everything was so greasy and stale.
Second, the service was horrible! Waitress ignored us when we asked for water twice and started talking in her language. She acted like she didn’t want to help us at all. So I went and talked to the manager. Manager just repeated what I said and she totally ignored me. I was still venting to her and she walked away… ruuuude!!!
Never coming back to this place ever again! Not worth it at all. Everything’s so wrong from the time we walked in. ZERO STARS!!!

One doesn’t go to a buffet like this for good Chinese food. One goes to a buffet like this to stuff one’s face with greasy «Chinese» food. And that’s what Canton Buffet offers. It has a good variety of cooked seafood option — I would never eat uncooked seafood aka sushi at a place like this. I didn’t like that there is only vanilla icecream and not vanilla + chocolate because making the swirl at the end is like 34% of the fun of going to a Chinese buffet. Good value, and fast if you are super hungry. A solid Chinese buffet place.

For the price, the buffet is alright.
Pros:
They have a grill option, where they cook what you bring them hibachi style.
Cons:
Sushi is inedible. Only Vanilla Ice cream option.
I like the salmon, and the soft shell crab they offer during dinner time. Like any other Chinese buffet, the food is a hit or miss. The location has 3 different rooms for sitting. A party room to rent out, a booth option room, and another room with tables and pull out seats for larger parties/​families.
This is a good place to fuel up and give a shot, my guess is the regulars here are the locals. This location because its close to assortment of apartment complexes. Also near Sacramento State University so you see some students at this buffet.

Went there tonight because i was craving some Chinese food; after eating there i know now i should’ve stuck to my Panda Express fix. Not because the food was terrible, but because I just like going to Panda Express for Chinese/Asian’esque type food.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Quick to buss your plates and refill your drink. I went around 7:30pm on a Tuesday evening (tonight, evening of review) and I noticed the food portions weren’t kept up. There was probably maybe 5 people in there when i got there. Im gonna assume it’s probably way more kept up and fresh had their been more people.
I think this place would be a fairly good visit towards the beginning of the opening of the restaurant not towards the 7:30−9pm area when the restaurant is near to close. For $ 11.99 plus tax (for dinner), you couldn’t ask for more i guess. The booth and tables are clean.

*Soft Serve Ice Cream — Only Vanilla Flavor

Okay I decided to come back this time around 330pm with the family but after today– it is not happening again… about 5 minutes b4 4pm the waitress came to me as I was eying the walnut prawns… saying if I get some it will change me to the dinner price ??? Wow!!! I’m done –the food is semi warm and I had to ask would they refill the empty trays with food… disappointed

The food was terrible and expensive, $ 11 for lunch plus beverage and tip. We could have gone elsewhere and had a great meal. Won ton soup –5 won ton in the whole pot; mussels-​it was so dry it wouldn’t come off the shell; seafood soup-​seafood had seen better days; half bananas with this red sauce –didn’t even want to try it; generals chicken-​had a lot of batter and batter bits in mix; Etc, etc. I could go on and on. Luckily, somehow we didn’t get sick but you kept waiting thinking thy you might. Not very well kept up and dirty. Never again

Dirty on the inside and out. Chairs all sticky, walls all stick. I felt gross and sticky leaving. Food tasted the same and wasn’t anything special or amazing. Most likely won’t come back.

A friend requested that we meet here. I vaguely remembered it from years ago but didn’t want prejudice myself by reading reviews beforehand. I went in with very, very low expectations… and was still disappointed.
This place is just awful. I mean i expected bad but this is hideous. I don’t think It’s the kind of place where you’re in danger of getting food poisoning or anything like that, but the food is just so badly prepared. How do you screw up premade jiaozi and egg rolls? How do you start with actual fresh vegetables and seafood and make them disgusting?
God, i rarely give one star reviews but this place earned it. Just disgusting.

I gave this place another chance but today is the last day. All I can say is DIRTY! The table, seats, bathroom and im pretty sure the food was too. Food was cold and tasted like it was yesterday leftovers. Service was strange. The lady who sitted us had no emotion and I felt like she was watching us the whole time. Server was decent untill she rushed us out. They need to learn customer service skills to stay in business. I will predict this place wont last any longer if they dont change.

This place is just gross and horrible im sorry trying to be positive but everything about this piece of crap Chinese buffet is disgusting.
I use to come here with my friend when we were high school kids. Its been about five years since i have been here, and i left super dissatisfied.
It use to be called something else but something obviously happen for them to have to change there name, because i believe the same women i seen many years ago is still there.
The food was really cold and taste like it had been sitting out for days the waitresses that work there have some serious problems i couldn’t even tell u all the little wierd things they were doing.
After everything we went through at this place i do not recommended this dump for anyone. I would also go as far as saying this establishment needs to be shut down, for the quality of product and the wierd people who work there to.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but it is very clean and well kept from the inside. I had orange chicken, chow mein, wonton soup, and potstickers. I could have had sweet and sour chicken and sushi if I had more room but I was so full.

I like this place I go ther when there is something special.
We went to celebrate a belatte Valentines on Sunday .
Wow!!! The food was dry, oli, crushed and don’t even get me stared with the sushi so, so, dry I could not eat it and to waist is not my thing.
So sad :-(

The food at this place was alright, however the atmosphere and service was below par! The walls, floors and tables NEEDED AND NEED to be cleaned urgently! The staff lacked attention to customers since they didn’t check in to see how my party was doing and tried to refill us without asking (we did not want a refill) one of the forks we were issued had mold ! Thankfully we didn’t use it. The room had a funky smell and our checkwas rushed. In order for me to return the place must be cleaned and the staff needs to be further trained!

I used to visit this place lot of time. Every time I visit place its getting worse and worse. Yesterday when I went there was a nail in the rice. Now you people decide whether to go to this or not. I have pics as evidence.

«Meh» just about sums it up.
To their credit, they do have a large supply of choices. However, they don’t taste that good. The salmon was undercooked and had a cat food like consistency. Same with the chicken meatball.
The cheese fried wontons were decent, but run of the mill… and they probably receive them from the same places all of the other buffets do as well. The General Chicken was way too stringy. The Hot and Sour soup tasted good, but had a «jelly-​like» consistency at times… not something one desires in soup.
Overall, a «blah» experience. Definitely not the worst buffet, but even in Sacramento there are better Chinese buffets available.

Great Cook From Mongolian BBQ Plus Great Food & Services Today; Friday November 24, 2014 around 1:30PM. My folks and I had ate here. I usually never had give any Chinese Buffet 5 full Stars until now, «I mean it!» This Chinese man did the cook behind Mongolian BBQ were very calm and patient as I season my food. I’m very surprise, same cook didn’t use any oil without burn on plus no stick. The taste were out of the world that blow away the $ 100 per plate from high class restaurant for rich folks place. No excess soupy juice on the bottom of my plate. Great moisture without it being wet. Entrée were pretty much full way it’s should be. Waitress were alway’s on time. I had tip both cook and waitress. We had walked out very happy that I will not ever forget. Thanks! Canton Buffet, you’re doing super-​durper job.

I go to school right across the street from this Chinese buffet and this is my third time being here. The main reason is out of convenience. The location is right in the middle of schools, business, and corporate buildings.
The food, I would rate 6⁄10. The variety for being a buffet, I would rate 4⁄10. The food isn’t considered the most authentic Chinese food I’ve eaten compared to how many Chinese food restaurants I’ve been to, but there are some notably good dishes here, the hot and sour soup and pepper chicken, is my particular favorite at this restaurant. The variety is lacking compared to other buffets. They have a fairly small selection so I would find myself getting the same foods on my plate all the times I’ve been here.
The service is not the best service but they get things done. They may not be attentive and talk to you but they make sure your drink cups are always refilled and full and pick up unused plates when we’re done.
