I’ve been to many Chipotle locations across the Sacramento area for the past 6 years, and this Downtown/Midtown location never disappoints. Despite the E. Coli scare few months ago, I have no doubts at all because this place maintains very well after coming here several visits ago without having food poising, and I’m satisfied about it. Located at Capitol Avenue after passing the tall buildings of downtown, this Chipotle delivers some remarkable, authentic foods from burritos to burrito bowls especially salads too. The atmosphere and the concept remain the same as most Chipotle locations across the United States, and this place is much smaller here compared to the Financial District Chipotle in San Francisco. The employees are doing a good job for making the customers like me an amazing, friendly service. No cons at all. For the food, I always ordered the burrito bowl which it’s a plate bowl full of my choice of ingredients instead of wrapping a flour tortilla completely! I sometimes add proteins to my bowl(from chicken to steak) by mixing mild and medium salsas, guacamole, shredded lettuce, grilled fajita vegetables, and black beans with a choice of white or brown rice. I preferred the brown rice because it’s easy to digest properly. As I ate it, it tasted very good and appetizing without all the mishaps from under cooking proteins to unwanted, uncleaned produces behind. What a great meal for lunch! Parking at this Chipotle location can be challenging. You can park it at the nearest surface street parking if it’s available. Otherwise, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Chipotle at the Downtown/Midtown neighborhood in Sacramento is a great national, freshest fast-food restaurant that I usually enjoyed the most! Perfect for lunch breaks! A worthy visit! My rating: 4 solid stars.

This Chipotle location is great — fast, friendly service every time and I recently learned that they’re also wonderfully honest about their products. I just wanted to let other Chipotle lovers know what I found out today about their guacamole. Apparently the company has adopted a new policy regarding the cleansing of avocadoes before guacamole preparation and requires that they actually be boiled first. The Chipotle rep I talked to said it tends to make the guacamole go brown faster and degrades the quality somewhat. This review is in no way meant to slander the good name of Chipotle but to share that spirit of honesty with other customers. If you find the guacamole to be somewhat lacking, your best bet is to alert the customer service team at Chipotle corporate headquarters so they can find a better alternative. Please don’t trash talk the awesome employees at this particular location; they have nothing to do with the decision to change avocado prep.

«Welcome! What can I get for you today?» «Can I get the E. Coli burrito with double E. Coli?» «Sure thing, and did you want mild, medium, or hot E. Coli?» «Medium.» “And would you like a side of E. Coli for just a dollar more?” «Yup.» For the record, I have never gotten food poisoning from this location or any Chipotle that I’ve been to(and I get my Chipotle fix pretty frequently). This whole E. Coli thing is kinda the elephant in the room though, so until next month when corporate can reassure the public the meat we’ve come to love and enjoy is no longer tainted, let’s take a deep breath… and exhale. OK, moving on. Chipotle A is usually no different than Chipotle B in terms of the quality of food you’re gonna get. Trial-and-error of their ingredients over the years was a process that slowly refined into my favorite dish(flour tacos, steak, no salsa, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, guac), and since then I’ve been programmed as a customer to mechanically recite the same order. I have no qualms with this – it comes out pretty good because it’s MY dish. There are a few things though that make this Midtown Chipotle distinguish itself from its other twin restaurant siblings. MEAT This location is pretty liberally with the meat they dish out. None of that one scoop deal, where the Chipotle chef underestimates the amount of meat for your entrée and then attempts to «spread out» the meat across the tortilla rather than add another scoop. This isn’t a soup kitchen, there’s plenty to go around for everyone. WAIT Don’t come here during lunch… just don’t. For one hour it becomes a white-collar haven for all the offices around Midtown. The line can sometimes take 15 minutes. On the plus side, because this Chipotle gets most of its business during peak lunch hour, it’s actually pretty quiet during dinner. That’s your best time to go. PARKING There’s really not much of a parking lot. There’s metered parking on side streets, or if you come after 6pm it’s free. Again, you can avoid a lot of inconvenience if you make this a dinner run rather than coming around lunch. All in all, get your Chipotle fix here for dinner, not lunch.

It’s a Chipotle. They’re all pretty standard. It’s kind of a cool looking location and the workers are nice.

Excellent service. Very fast and attentive. Food always tastes fresh. I eat here at least once a week. Best Chipotle in the area.

The food has always been good what lowers my rating was the rude man behind the counter tonight. My friend and I went in a bit after nine pm. He was very snotty and downright rude to my friend. My friend is a lovely and sweet 1st grade teacher. Who wants to walk into a place to eat only to get attitude and rudeness for no reason whatsoever?

I just went and got a bowl. But unfortunately the rice was cold, as well as the barbacoa and the chicken. Terrible but I brought the food home so I ate half… with disappointment. Not even the guac made up for it. The one day I wanted to indulge and it was truly disappointing. Make sure they heat up your food.

Good value for your money especially when you have a 2 for one coupon. I like this place but, rarely come as there are so many other options. Went this past Saturday because they were giving out a free meal when you purchased one and wore your Republic FC gear. This is the perfect meal when you want something healthy and you are on the run. That is when I usually stop by. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. I tasted the new tofu meat substitute and it was really good. I like how you can put whatever you want on it excluding guac and they don’t charge extra. I can put 2 kinds of salsa, sour cream, rice, beans, grilled onions and peppers, lettuce, and it’s the same price. I like getting the salad because of their fresh homemade dressing. The place is a bit chilly, but I’d rather that then hot. Overall I’m really happy with this place.

Called in to let them know my to go order was wrong and rather then just apologize and make it right the manager Aaron just argued with me. Poor poor customer service especially from a taco shop.

Smallest Chipotle burritos I’ve ever had. I love Chipotle, but this location lacks customer service. They are very inconcestent compared to other locations. They provide you half the product for full price.

Disclaimer: I haven’t eaten Chipotle in five or more years. I’ve avoided it like the plague. If I’m going for fast Mexican food, I’d rather go to a taqueria, most likely La Fiesta or Oscars. Now with that out of the way, I can proceed. I always see this location, because it’s square in the middle of the Grid. Great location, shitty for parking! As for the food, it wasn’t as bad as I remembered it to be. We had a BOGO offer from some run I did, so I thought let’s be ballers-on-a-budget and I’ll give it a go! I ordered the Burrito Bowl w/chicken. I almost went with the steak, but I’m glad I asked to try both of the proteins. The steak is spicy, for this wimp! The infamous«Guac is Extra» line was dropped, which I’m assuming is a regular for the employees here. I wanted to scream«I KNOW!», which I didn’t scream of course. I smiled, said okay, and kept on moving down the line. Like I’ve said at may other ‘make your own’ places — if you don’t like it, you don’t really get to complain, since you selected the items that make your meal! I’ll probably never order the carnitas, which is why I stopped going in the first place. But the chicken was decent and I enjoyed that they had white and brown rice, I got both… I felt a little healthier. It doesn’t taste authentic, so I don’t get the hype. I think the give off a faux healthy idea, but I don’t think it’s really that healthy for you. Copious amounts of junk thrown in a bowl, still means calories. But, it wasn’t as gross as I remember, but I’m not a changed woman yet… I’m still skeptical! I’ll be back, because I have one more coupon.

What can I say? I was not a chipotle fan before coming here. I saw my fellow elite Unilocalers and saw so many 4 stars here it piqued my interest in trying this location out. The one I had before a few times was just ok, 2 ½ star place. This place must be the one that people rave about! I was welcomed by the aroma of freshly cooked meat, yum! The people were very busy preparing food for the several people in line, and were friendly when giving us the bathroom code. The establishment is clean and although not immaculate, it is only littered with a little bit of small crumbs. Ok now for the food! Chicken was juicy, not dry, favors were bursting! Produce was fresh, no wilted leaves, no mushy diced tomatoes. Rice was slightly firm, but that’s how I like it. Beans were good too. My entire burrito was what I had wished my first chipotle experience was. This is the burrito people brag about! It’s not soggy and causing a huge mess! Just one napkin needed here! Very satisfying!

I remember years ago when Chipotle came to town. I was working in the downtown area and someone said there was FREE food being given away. We walked to the location and stood in the long crazy line. That was our initiation. Still in love after all these years. I like the steak burrito: white rice, cheese, salsa, sour cream, lettuce. There is a picture of me floating around the web, my blog and MeetUp, with me standing in the store with a mask on for a Halloween event. Boorritos with some gal pals in costume was the idea. Being a picky eater I love the variation and choice options that eating at Chipotle provides.

Chipotle, why are you so close to my apartment? Friendly neighborhood Chipotle, don’t you know how crazy addictive you are? I have a steak burrito problem and you don’t help to make it better. Well, actually you do. This is an awesome location with plenty of room to stay and munch, along with patio seating, which is part of the fun of dining in midtown. I sometimes take it to go because it’s so so close, but often times I’ll stay on the aforementioned back patio and read a book as I scarf. I don’t have many gripes about this one other than sometimes getting bits of gristle in my steak and meh greens. Don’t tell me what’s in the guac, please. So delicious. The chips are quite salty, but also a tasty treat. I just need a lot of water if I’m going to be chomping some of those babies down. Chipotle almost never lets me down, and I appreciate their willingness to make me the weird things I ask for such as quesaritos(two kinds!) and burrito bowls with taco shells so that I can make my own perfect tacos, thank you very much.

It’s chipotle. It’s gonna be the same no matter where you go. Service was not good. Employees were rude and I felt very rushed when it wasn’t even busy and there was no one in line but myself. One of the girls making my burrito had a huge attitude. Like I get it, working in food service isn’t anyones dream job but would it kill you to be somewhat pleasant? This location is kinda claustrophobic. The ceilings are super low. Outdoor seating is nice though. As for skimping on their portions… I know chipotle has come under some criticism lately at other locations across the U.S. for this. I usually am only able to eat half and then I save the other half of my burrito for later. But this time I ate the whole thing. Don’t know if I was just super hungry that day or they really are skimping on their servings.

19th and Capitol Indoor and outdoor seating They have a small parking lot. I was told it was for employees. I see cars park in tandem in that lot. I wouldn’t block anyone in but metered street parking is rough and when you’re hungry. I get it. Don’t come during lunch rush– it sucks. They keep it moving like lunch ladies slopping a ladle of this or whatever you choose and it’s a lukewarm mess. I had a teacher all about Chipotle. She says both beans are Vegan-friendly and that she asks for both beans. I never thought to ask for both because they pose the question black OR pinto and so now I know. I want both, motherfucker. Chipotle is an easy concept. You show up at one end of the line tell them what you want and what to put in it as you walk down the line, watching them prepare it, and then you pay at the register. They have beer and Sauza or Patron margaritas. You can pre-order online or use their app but I don’t think that far ahead to do that regarding Chipotle. Usually, when I don’t know what I want to eat, I just come here.

Located on 18th and Capitol. This one of the many Chipotles located across the country. Place gets fairly busy and often a line out the door. You have burrito, taco, chips, along with a variety of mild to medium salsas or hot sauce. Orders are made through store or online. Staff is quick. A good tip is to get the app and order ahead of coming in. Food comes properly cooked, grilled and ready for dine in or take out. Staff is fairly friendly. Good: fast for being so busy. Bad: always busy. Overall a four star for being consistent and the food and to being able to figure the wait time when there is a line.

Let me start by saying the catering here is the BEST… I have always been a fan of Chipolte, but they are hands down the best at the«fast food» catering. I have used them twice and both experiences were amazing. The food is always fresh, well packaged in nice foil pans, and they provided everything. We are not talkin gsome cheap plates and forks, I mean chafing dishing and holders, sterno candles, there nice bowls, and all the seving utensils are sturdy and nice. They are prompt, the cost is just right and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I will use them again for another event for sure. !!! Give them a try you won’t be sorry…

I’m as surprised as anyone that I haven’t yet reviewed my go-to Chipotle. This king of somewhat-healthy fast food clearly reigns supreme, judging from the line on any given time and day. I’m guessing their healthier, more humane approach to ingredients is what allowed them to bypass Sacramento’s sensible restrictions against mega-chains within the downtown grid. Personally, I love that they’ve boiled down Mexican food to the best of what everyone wants: burritos and tacos. The burrito bowl, sans tortilla, is more than enough for any meal. The crispy tacos(my favorite) can be customized to your liking and pack a crunchy punch with each bite. It really comes down to the ingredients. Their food may not be the fairytale, healthier solution to mass consumption that they claim it to be, but it’s still a far cry better than most other options and a step in the right direction.
