So I have a legitimate problem with how often I go here. Drunk or sober, it’s the best. I’m convinced they know my order and voice when I call in. I get the carne asada fries and the regular chicken quesadilla. The later in the night you go, the fresher the fries are. They also have delicious horchata. It’s slightly bigger than a hole-in-the-wall kinda place, but still has that same feel that you’re getting delicious food at a cheap price.

Just down the street from my apartment it has become a regular go to for me. I am writing this after a year of living here and last week having the best taquitos I have ever had in my life(and I have eaten lots of taquitos). Very friendly and low key place.

Not a single person in the restaurant when I arrived. The lady who was the cook was also the cashier. She did not remove her gloves to handle cash. CA burrito was soggy, quesadilla was overly greasy and a mess. Dining area was filthy. This was my second time here. First time the chef/cashier was a different person and the placed seemed to have *some* hope. Whatever, life is too short for bad Mexican food.

Veggie fries are delicious. They are open late. Not a lot of room to sit down, so if it’s a busy night, get it to-go. This is a cute hole in the wall and nothing else, so don’t expect bells and whistles. The lady serving up is… interesting to say the least. No bells or whistles to her either. Very matter of fact. It’s definitely good, solid fare and I recommend a stop in soon.

I’m not the most original guy so I always just get a regular burrito. And I love it! I eat here at least once a week. The owner knows the regulars and gets their orders started without them having to ask. Makes me feel like home! Best part is the salsa. It’s got great bite. Very reasonably priced, too.

This is true hole in the wall Mexican dining. My son and I were in town for an ice hockey tournament. One of his games was ended past 10 p.m. This was one of the few places within walking distance of the hotel when he finished showering. The tacos were great. We had what they call«baby tacos.» There are just street tacos. I got both asada and al pastor. My son had the carnitas. The pastor was very tender and flavorful. My son liked the mild salsa. I liked the hot. Don’t let the appearance of the place scare you away. I could tell by the steady stream of patrons that it was well liked in the area. It almost seemed like a dive bar, but for Mexican food.

I’ve came here twice and the food has been amazing as well at the customer service. Super burrito is my favorite. Perfect food if you’re looking to go out and drink.

Buddy ordered 2 carnitas tacos and I got the carnitas Cali burrito. Burrito was a little greasy but very flavorful. Service was good and very friendly. I will definitely come here again after a night of drinking!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Sacramento. Its completely authentic, homemade and delicious. Rosa is not only the best Mexican food cook in town, she cooks and treats me like family! She used to work at another restaurant in Rancho Cordova and when they closed I followed her to Chitas. Thr food is amazing. And she always makes me a little extra and makes sure I leave full and happy. This is really unique, I’ve never eaten at a place that treats me like im a family member. The restaurant décor is nothing fancy but its totally authentic and the food is top quality. I come here specifically to eat Rosa“s food! Floutas are amazing and the fish tacos are incredible! There’s like a whole fish in one! Highly recommend Chitas and Rosa. I drive from Folsom just to eat here when Rosa is working.

Nice little joint off the beaten path. The kinda place you would see featured on food network or cooking channel with Aaron Sanchez. Fish Taco(Tilapia) and Shrimp taco plate was excellent! Not too stuffed either. Love the mural. Friendly face at counter. Check it out!

Chita’s is my go-to spot for Mexican food. I highly recommend getting their pork adobada(spicy) on whatever you order. The portion size is reasonable(not gigantic like La Garnacha), so you won’t feel too bad when you scarf down the whole thing like a god damn animal. The staff there is very friendly and they are open late for your after-the-bar dining.

Always good! We live right down the street and this place always does us right when we want a good burrito or tacos

A solid, no-frills Mexican joint. I would not hold a business meeting here as it’s a little rough looking inside and out, and the salsa bar is underwhelming and usually could use a wipe down. There’s a marijuana store and bar on the same block so you could really do some damage on a lunch break. Anywho, the burritos are large, inexpensive($ 5 – 6) and the people running it are friendly, even if a little hurried. The pork options seem to be their specialty as they are the tastiest. I hear this place does a swift after-bar business as well. Enjoy.

Ok so I ordered a chimichanga and what i got was something between an enchilada and a wet burrito, it was so tasty though! I was not disappointed especially since I could tell the sauce was made from scratch.

Ordered Cali Burrito, and was pleasantly surprised by great taste and aromatic. It’s like a hole in the wall with limited seating but unlimited flavor. Will return

Just passing through midtown Sacramento and checked this place out from other Unilocal reviews. Have to say this place lives up to the hype! Small restaurant, but big on taste. We devoured our chimi burrito and super nachos with carne asada and everything was amazing! I’ll definitely make time to come back here while I’m in town.

The churros and veggie burritos here are delicious. Yes, a place that offers a veggie burrito that actually has vegetables in it! :) It’s been my experience at other Mexican restaurants, that when I order a veggie burrito I really get a bean and rice burrito. Yeah, the burrito has no meat but also no veggies. On the other hand, other locations have an unlimited chips and salsa bar, Chita’s doesn’t. Things to know: –Limited seating

As far as hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints go, this one hit the spot. I ordered a crispy carne asada taco and had some of the Chita’s fries, which was French fries topped with guacamole, shredded chicken, cheese, and salsa. Perhaps there was more but I can’t recall at the moment. The tortilla shell was deep fried and crispy without being like a Doritos chip. The main lady(there was only one person running the place) also gave us freshly made tortilla chips, too. Eaten with an ice cold Tecate and you’ve got yourself a wonderful meal! Everything was fresh, service was nice, and food was delish! Would definitely come here again when in the area!

So you just closed down Q Street Bar/Benny’s and need some food to soak up the booze so you can at least stumble home in a straight line. BAM: Chita’s is right next door and still open. This may or may not(OK, was) our situation last Friday and got to try Chita’s for the first time. I’d never been but B has been multiple times. It was crowded inside the small eatery but we were lucky enough to snake a table. I got a few cheap street tacos(I think they were called«baby tacos»?) for less than $ 2 each and washed them all down with Horchata… oooh, SO damn good. Whatever burrito B got was turning the container into a gooey sour cream and guacamole mess, which was perfect for soppin’ up with some tortilla chips! Give Chita’s a try if you’re in the area and craving Mexican… or the next time you’re closing down Q Street Bar or Pour House or any other nearby watering holes.
