Denny’s

IF you like to wait for almost an hour for food then this is your place to eat. And one time i saw the manager digging in her butt.

Horrible! They just moved to a new location and nothing has changed horrible service, food is greasy, and just plain bad management. I get it’s a cheap place to get breakfast but you should still have standards. I hate this place and refuse to eat here!

On 12÷12÷13 my family and I went to the new Dennys location at 7401 Elsie Ave in South Sacramento. Waitress was friendly and quick in taking our food orders. But apparently the cooks in the back were not as fast. We waited 45 minutes before the orders came, and when it did arrive, only one order at a time was delivered. Each individualy had to wait anothef five minutes for their plate. We could see the cooks from our table and watching them we could see that they were confused and could not know how to reach off of the waiter’s orders or the electronic bill board in front of them. There was another table behind us and that party sat there for 30 minutes before any waitress came to take there order, in fact the lady had to get the floor managers attention to let her know that they have not had any service at all. I sugguest not going to this restuarant until they get cooks who knows what to do and floor managers who oversee that service to the customers are taken right away.

This is my second time eating at this Denny’s and the two times has been pretty good. I want to start out with our waiter Ryan a new guy with honest answers to everything and very patience. He’s also very helpful and gave us the best attention. Whatever we need he will try to get for us. The foods were pretty good. I ordered the French Toast Slam and my hubby ordered the steak omelette and we were both pleased by the way it was made and how it tasted. We came out satisfied. The cashier chick I wished I knew her name… she was pretty great too. I didn’t know we had to go to the counter to pay, so she was kind enough to come to our table to finalize our transaction. Btw, I so want to try out their iced coffee but they don’t carry soy milk. It was quite a bummer. So if you’re lactose intolerance and want to add some type of non dairy creamer or non dairy milk in your coffee good luck they don’t have it.

My husband and I came there last night for his birthday. We wanted something quick and easy due to having other plans made later that evening and just wanted a quick bite. The moment we walked in, we were greeted incredibly well. The last time we were here, it was about a year ago and though they should be open 24 hours, this location closes at 8−9pm due to its location.
Our waitress (which was also the same gal that greeted us) was extremely tentative and sweet. She knew when to bug us and when not to, provided me extra napkins even before I’d asked and was just simply divine.
Such waitresses are far and few now. I just wished I remembered her name! She made our experience there extremely memorable. Husband and I would definitely come back again, though its neighborhood is kind of sketchy.

Do not recommend this place! really do not eat here! I literally waited over one hour until my food came! The waitress was nice and everything. but really one hour for a tilapia! now thats just non-​sense!

Went here for breakfast with my son and husband! the food came perfectly and the waitress was courtious and friendly!

My wife and I walk in and was greeted by a lady. She told us she will be right with us. She seated us and gave us our menus, and walks away. So we are going thru the menu and she comes back with some water. We say «thank you» as polite people would do. She just walks away. We finally order and get our food. WTF, I ordered my meal with seasoned fries, not their wavy ones. My wife ordered the wavy fries, not the seasoned. But I was ok with the mistake. I can just grab some fries from my wife’s plate, hey we’re married, we share plenty of things. We finish our lunch and we pay our bill, tipping our waitress 7 dollars. Our bill was only 26 dollars, 7 dollars is more than 10%. Out of our whole ordeal we got one smile which was when we got the bill. She was probably happy we were leaving. But I always thought when you eat anywhere, you should always receive a smile when they’re talking with you. Damn, what a shame. The food itself was good that’s why they got the 2 stars.

Best service I’ve ever gotten at a Denny’s! Went into this Denny’s late in the evening with over 15 people. John was our waiter. He was awesome, right on top of things! Our entire party was very impressed! I would highly recommend John as a waiter! He has a good sense of humor and a positive attitude. Which makes for a very pleasant experience. Also was great with separate checks! We let his manager know how great he did and the manager was really nice as well. Very impressed.

Most Unilocalers don’t go to Denny’s but I had to write a review. I went with a party of five yesterday because I needed a quick meal and had two picky teens with me. Well I wasn’t expecting a lot — it’s Denny’s! But our water Hassan was awesome and the food was good (I really wasn’t expecting that).
The place is old and Mack Road is not know for its fancy restaurants but we would come back again given similar circumstances.

I had really good service here! The waiter is «real», he told me not to get the soup because it’s been sitting there all day. (I ate at 9 PM). He also told me how fatening one of the sandwiches are. It’s your typical Denny’s food!

I have been to this location once and it was absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I will not be coming back to this location ever again. Of course it was at 2 in the morning, but still the service was bad. I knew the server that was working because I used to work with him, but that’s not the point. There wasn’t anyone at all in the entire restaurant except for one other table. My friend and I were able to get our food order in quickly and got our drinks in a timely fashion. BUT our food took forever to come out to our table. I think we ended up waiting about a total of 20 to 25 minutes from the time of us putting our order in to the time it was brought to our table. On top of it taking a long time for our food, our order wasn’t to our specifications. My friend had ordered a burger and had asked for it to not have tomatoes or onions, and of course they were on it. I know that it’s not a big deal and can be easily taken off, but still we asked for them not be on there. Our onion rings were burnt as well. And it took quite a long time before we got our check. And for our waiter to come back for our payment. Will not be coming back here ever again.

This restaurant has been around for a long time. Probably one of the originals when they were first popular as an inexpensive place to go for a casual meal.
My boyfriend may not have had good experiences here. But I wanted to at least state that on the occasions when I went with my dad, our visits were satisfactory for what one would expect at a Denny’s. We usually go for their breakfasts. Our «usual» is 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, grits and wheat toast. The food is better than I can cook! So that is a good thing!
There is a very nice waitress who was working there, that always seemed to remember us, even when it’s been a while since we were last in. Just enough small talk and attention that kept us remembering her too! Except I don’t know her name!
All in all, this restaurant usually has good food with a large selection of menu items (breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, & drinks), at prices that are hard to beat. Not to mention convenient hours AND breakfast all day long! (Not like some places that stop serving breakfast after 10:30 am).
This place deserves some credit.

I went here for the first after living not too far from here for 20 years. The place looks run down, Dennys really needs to reinvent themselves… or at least this location. One of the main door entrance doesn’t work as of this date posted. The food was perfectly fine.

the employee’s were rude and disrespectful. she rolled HER eyes because we asked how much longer until our food will be done, bittttttch right?! we waited for over 20 minutes! not even the appetizers had came out yet!
outside the restaurant, their were a group of guys hanging out smoking right at the door, couldnt they move to the side? we had our little cousins with us under age 10!

It has been some time since I have given a restaurant only one star. I would much rather write about pleasant experiences, but people deserve to know when a place is horrific, and that is the only way to describe this place. How can you completely destroy a breakfast? This Denny’s restaurant can.
It has only been ten minutes since we arrived and already the waitress is offering us coffee. Within another twenty minutes she is taking our orders. This lady is quick. She must be trying to earn employee of the month. A mere half hour later she brings us our breakfast. My eggs are cold and the yolks are congealed, my biscuit is cold and limp, my bacon is cold and limp, my potatoes are cold, greasy and limp, my waitress is cold and limp. Everything was cold stale and limp like it had been sitting outside for twenty minutes.
This miserable restaurant is located on Mack road just east of highway ninety-​nine.
