Discoteca Mermaid & Misc

Upon entering the front doors of the SD Mart, you will see this unassuming little store off to your right, with the unusual name of «Discoteca Mermaid & Misc.» The woman who mans the counter located in it’s center, is one of the nicest ladies I have ever spoken with in the mall. Always friendly and eager to help. The shop itself carries an unusual array of merchandise. Snacks, Cd’s, DVDs, jewelry, fancy hair clips, fans, nick knacks, toys, collectibles — strange to silly stuff. Most of the time I don’t have a need to shop there, but my most recent visit was to find ideas for «The Day of The Dead» Unilocal event that my boyfriend and I were attending. I found some colorful, large roses made into hair clips that happened to be just what I was searching for to add to my costume. They came in a variety of colors that made it hard for me to choose from. After narrowing them down to 3 roses, the sales woman (probably the owner), realized that I also liked 2 other hair clips and gave me a deal on getting all five for the price of 3. Plus, she grabbed a handful of candy and added it to my bag! It’s always impressive when someone goes out of their way to be nice! And needless to say, this impressed me to no end! You may think, big deal, just some cheap hair clips and candy! But it somehow made my day. Not that I received a bargain, but that someone went out of there way to be nice to a stranger.
