My saving grace after a crazy night of drinking with my family on Christmas, whewwww.
Although this review may be partial, because I was absolutely beyond hung-​over when I came here… With whatever taste buds that were actually working that day, they told me the food here is absolutely delicious…
With our party of 12, God bless the workers working on Saturday, 12÷26− let me just apologize for the slowness you had to endure from my family and I *wink.
Anyway, it’s really, really hard for me to give 5 stars at a Phở restaurant, because when you think about it… Phở is Phở, right?!? Wrong. I only have 1 other 5 star fav and that’s in Arcadia, my Phở go to after Vegas trips. But this place, DAMN! I didn’t even put any additives (no Sriracha, no chili paste, no chopped up jalapeños, no lime) into my soup and it was aaaaafreakinmazing!
I’m going to keep this review short & sweet.
If you’re looking for good broth, come here it’s so yummy.
#14, Raw Steak. Boom.

This place is really good, I always order beef chow fun when I come here. Only thing is the waiter doesn’t come check how we are doing or if we needed anything else. I guess the waiter is busy with other customers I understand but try to make time to ask if we need something cuz we might want to order more stuff. Lol I’m just saying.

This is in a nice location. I’ve been to multiple locations and this one is far the best. The food is good as always. You definitely get a good amount for the price. The inside is nice and clean and there are plenty of seating areas. I always order either phở or calamari. The shake is amazing too. The wait for the food isn’t too long either if they aren’t very busy.

I’ve been here so many times and the food is alright. I’m actually here right now with my mom and OMG the service is still SLOW. I knew that it’s gonna take awhile, but why not take a chance and see if it’s different this time but this is RIDICULOUS ! We’ve been waiting for more than 35 minutes, and I’m seriously not even exaggerating. definitely not coming back here again.

Came in and got seated and no one gave us the menu. We waited for about ten minutes and went and got the menu ourselves. Five minutes later they came with two water, one had something in there. The waiter was rude and answered our questions about the dishes in a rude manner. Service was really bad. Never going there again.

I personally love this place there number 21 is really good! The customer service can use some improvement they got some new waiters that lack lots of it but the food is great. I would have to say the tap water not good. Overall it’s just these little things I still enjoy coming here.

When we’ll there be a good clean Vietnamese place. This place use to be nice and clean. But over the years they have loss their service and food quality. They give you nasty ass tap water that taste like shit. Forcing you to buy their over price can of soda
The phở is ok. But he portion has definitely got smaller over the years. They are shady with the meats and give you extra broth to make the bowl look full.

I wont lie to myself anymore. It was bad the first time, but i thought it might be improving so I gave this place a second chance but it didnt improve a bit.
The Phở, which at the 2^nd time i came back, i thought it should be the most popular here and should be better than other dishes. I was wrong. No, people. Please dont think of Phở as the one that this place has. Its not what PHO should be.
PHO should be wayyyyy more better.
The service, it’s like they dont really need customers. For food’s sake please be nicer and more attentive, even you have to pretend.

First time coming to this location but not the first time trying the food that this local chain has to offer. Ive been to the other spot the original one on stockton blvd (i wrote a review for that location as well) so CHECK IT OUT! Ok ok so we came in i noticed this place was much busier than the other spot. The service was pretty slow i ordered a phó but was really disappointed with it because my phó was lacking the one thing i was craving and thats tripe, i kid u not it only had a few lil strings of tripe. Te meat was tough and very little of it one thing that bothered me was that the rice noodles were in the middle of the bowl all stuck together looked like the noodles were pre measured and rolled into a ball the night before then all they had to do was drop the ball in the broth and send it out to the table.
When they brought my bowl out one thing i noticed was that the guy cleaning tables and bringing out the food, his thumb was in the bowl of soup when placing it onto the table. DISGUSTING BRUH! I wont be back here thats for sure the phó wasnt even all that good but it was something to eat so fuck it at the time being it did what it had to do and make my hunger go away. Like i said before, first and last time coming here. Not saying for u guys not to go, if u like people putting their thumb in ur phó then hurry up and get to that spot lol bon appetite.

This is my go-​to place for phở, mostly because it’s clean compared to other phở restaurants in the area. My wife and I get the phở tai and egg rolls. You should be careful because sometimes the waiters/​waitresses mess up your order though. They are pretty good about keeping your water full.

Food is great here. Specially the spring rolls and the peanut sauce. Only thing I wish service was faster. When you come to this fine restaurant make sure you have some time in your hands

Gross. Ordered #75 beef luc lac and the meat was still cold in the center… How sickening! Waitress took it back to cook it more throughly and the meat texture completely changed. It felt like I was eating beef jerky, ew. I was dissatisfied and disappointed, so I asked for a box to go, but once I got home I threw it away. They should’ve offered some discount or comp my meal but whatever. Never coming here again! Also, they are so slow. It took over 20 minutes for 2 dishes to come out. Unbelievable!

My friend family owns this place and I love coming here because I love seeing my friends! I order the beef cube with rice. It’s so frkn good!!! I just moved to sac so I don’t come here a lot. My BF get the duck and it’s also good! Comes with Bok choy. Spring rolls are good as well! Can’t go wrong with it! I see people order phở. All orders are huge portion! Can’t ever go wrong with that! Great for left overs! They get packed too! I’d recommend coming here when you have the time!

I rolled with #35 shrimp with a lot of sautéed onions and rice. It wasn’t bad but there really was an overwhelming amount of onions as though it was the feature of the dish.
The wings appetizer was nicely spiced with some red sauce poured on. No not the chili sauce or sriracha sauce.
The place is open and spacious. The entrée prices are affordable and hopefully you will get your phở fix here. It’s not quite fast food but it’s not near upscale either.

The service is great. We were seated as soon as we walked in. They asked if we were ready a few times, but other than that, the service was amazing. We ordered and waited for our food. We didn’t realize how big the servings were because most places on give about 6 shrimps on a walnut shrimp dish. The dish was spectacular. OMG. Best honey walnut shrimp I’ve ever had. So good. The chicken and broccoli was a also very good. The veggies were cooked perfectly, not soggy and not too crispy and the chicken was so soft. They gave a huge serving of rice too, so we were full pretty fast. All in all, this place is gonna be my go to place.

We really had a great dinner here. The fresh rolls were perfect and plump. The peanut sauce was balanced and the shrimp protruding through the rice paper looked fresh.
Our phở noodle broth was rich and flavorful. We ordered duck phở because of our love of duck. We found the duck meat lean and tender and worked well with the broth.
The prices were very reasonable with some phở noodle bowls costing on $ 7.50. We will definitely go back when were in the area.

A few of the time’s I’ve been here have been fine. I am used to the Hoa Viet on Bradshaw or Greenhaven area. I eat here because it is closest to me.
The area is nice, and the food has been tasty. EXCEPT, for my last time when I went there with some other friends. They gave us water, and eventually, we found a little bug in his water (he had not drank yet) and another bug in my boyfriends water as well. My friend was pretty upset.
Overall, usually crappy service. Nice place. Good food.80% of the time.

They dont even open til 10:30 but igot out of class early and was starving. So they let us in at 10 and we ordered the banh xeo (vietnamese crêpe) and the bun thit nuong. It came out in 10minutes. The waiter had good service and the food was pretty good. They also got free wifi from next door lol!

Why is the rating so low here? The food is good, the price is affordable, the service is good. So What the PHO!!! I’m glad I wasn’t deterred from giving this place a try, because of their average rating. My wife and I have become regulars now. What’s not to like? Place is clean, waitstaff fast, friendly, efficient and your water glass is never empty. The rice plates, phở are flavorful and fulfilling. This is a great place for a quick, affordable lunch.

When I was younger, my family loved to go to the Hoa (pronounced ‘hwa’) Viet on Stockton Boulevard for Sunday lunch. I still have a lot of great memories associated with this chain because of that simple fact.
The good:
This location is more convenient for Elk Grove folks who want phở. It’s clean. My expectations of service here aren’t that high to begin with, but the two young guys helping us were polite. When we ran out of water, I just put the empty cup at the edge of the table and they eventually got the hint to refill our waters.
We were starving, but I have to say that the flavors for most of the dishes we ordered were spot on. We ordered #62 (charbroiled pork over rice), the house special chow fun, and the jelly fish appetizer.
The phở broth that came with the #62 was delicious, so I would expect their phở bowls to be the same. The chow fun noodles had the perfect amount of greasiness, and the fish sauce dressing on the jelly fish was pretty awesome – salty and bright, a perfect compliment for the salad of seafood, pork, and vegetables.
The meh:
I felt that the chow fun was a little different from what I remember at other Hoa Viets. There was slightly less meat, and the flavor wasn’t as good in my opinion. However, my sisters thought it was still great.
We also didn’t like the texture of the jellyfish used in the salad. I’ve definitely had better seafood in other jellyfish appetizers.
Good to know:
They bring you your bill on a little tray, but you have to take it up to the counter to pay. Otherwise you may be sitting at your table with the credit card out for a while.
Would I come back?
If I’m craving Vietnamese food and am too lazy to go to Stockton Boulevard, it’s very likely.
