This Bookstore Rules! SITREP My work sent me to California State University — Sacramento(SacState) as an enrollee in their eLearning Instructional Design course. Because of cuts in the California State Budget, this has translated into looking at new, cost-effective & innovative ways to transfer a significant portion of our«in-class» training regimen into eLearning modalities. These are legislatively mandated courses that the law requires that we put our newest licensing enforcement officers & investigators through — as well as our most seasoned specialists with refreshed-training updates. SETUP These instructional design courses require a significant amount of hardware, software(including components we needed from Adobe Suites), and(yes) «book-learning» in order to learn a whole new realm of skill-sets so that we can get our investigative professionals up to snuff in performing their duties. This store — as well as other on-campus resources at SacState — provided me and my classmates with a dynamic array of computer-related tools & skillsets that we could depend on to get our knowledge-base to where it needed to be in order to get through the course, not the least of which is the advice and consulting expertise of these professionals. THELOWDOWN The final result is that I graduated this past February 22, 2012 with my certification as an «eLearning Instructional Designer & Course Developer» and I have the Hornet Bookstore and SacState to thank for this achievement.
