One of the best pizzas I have ever had and the best part about this place is they are open until 2am! They sell pizza by the slice and there slices are huge!!!

Sacramento is full of mediocre pizza-by-the-slice establishments, and Luigi’s fails to separate itself from the pack. The best part about Luigi’s is it’s location, just a couple doors down from Lowbrau. I doubt this place would be able to stay in business if it were in a location with less foot traffic. That said, the pizza isn’t bad. You can choose from around 4 – 6 pizza styles for slices, normally costing $ 3.50-$ 4 a slice. Luigi’s is best when drunk and desperate, but hardly worth going out of your way for.

Came here on Saturday evening of St. Patties weekend to see a friend’s band play. It’s a very small room attached to Luigi’s Pizza. Upon initially arriving we could not locate this little place. It was not crowded(maybe 25 people) however was very hot and poor acoustics.

Whoo hoo late night pizza run! The pizza took a little longer than I might have liked, but boy was it worth the wait! My meat slice was piled high with all sorts of goodies, and too hot to eat immediately(my preference) They have a good selection of pizza by the slice, and fair selection of drinks including beers, and a bunch of seating options depending on your party size.

I usually get a Hawaiian pizza and Moose Drool/some other beer when here. It’s a great place to be when it is Second Saturday or any weekend actually. Ordering is fairly quick, the portion of the slice equals about 2 – 3 actual pizza sizes, and the patio seating area is a cool place to eat if you like to people watch. There are often bands playing in the room next to the eating area, which is cool. I think the location really gives this shop a good advantage due to the higher volume of passerbyers and it is easy to find. I will say that the pizza is not super cheesy or the kind that would be the best pizza ever, but for the price and experience, I think it’s worth it.

I really like this location, I might even like their pizza more than from the Original Luigi’s. I have called in a pizza to take-out, which went super smooth, It was a great way to grab a pie and scurry home.. . Also I have stayed in for pizza with a huge group including children, as well as with small groups, or just me and my guy.. .. Every time I have had fantastic customer service, cold delicious beer(a decent selection), and Super good thin crust pizza. For instance: the Boyfriend hates crust, but at Luigi’s he LOVES it. Prices are standard, about 20 – 27 bucks for a Large. . I have not been during a show yet, but I am looking into changing that.

Sorry Benny’s but this is my new go-to spot for a quick bite after work. $ 10 will buy two great beers(Lagunitas, Moose Drool and more! on draft) and two slices of very decent pepperoni or cheese pizza. This is one of the best deals downtown in a very cool spot. Every day until 6. Weekend nights they have fun local bands. +1 for Luigi’s.

When i lived in the Bay Area, grabbing a slice from Blondie’s on Telegraph was a Saturday night go-to. For the longest time, I wished for a similar pizza-by-the-slice spot here in Sacramento. Yes, there is Pieces, but I am kind of just OK with their pizza. Luigi’s fits the bill. Large triangles of thin sliced goodness with just the right amount of toppings. Decent selection of beer. And one of the best spots to catch live music in town. Pizza and a band! I am all in.

Luigi’s is going thru a reno… looks interesting… will have to go back and check it out. I love the single slices that they offer… real traditional pizza not a lot of fluff or stuff. Great specials! I pop in during randoms times and just about every time I can take advantage of a special they are having. Great ranch & salad…

The pizza is decent, although I haven’t had anything but the pesto. The atmosphere complements those aspects that the pizza doesn’t. The music is great and the people working behind the counter do what they are supposed to do without getting in your business, I like it that way tho. Overall, it’s a cool place to go for a slice of pizza and a beer.

Coming in here in the late break of morning(2:AM) from the Luigi’s on Stockton blvd since that one was closing, I had to satisfy the urge for pizza and this was my last hope. Getting lost in midtown for a bit and finally ending up on the fine parking of 21st& J st. my girlfriend and I see the brightly lit sign«Luigi’s» in white neon cursive and go in to this packed narrow corridor of fellow club goers and hungry folks in the mood for pizza as much as I was. The line wasn’t too long, and everyone in line was somewhat polite and fun to talk to, as well as the staff there which were trying their best to be as helpful as possible. The one guy. he worked behind the counter in a fitted gray shirt was really nice and polite, and requested that we don’t buy a full pizza at the moment because it might not finish as quickly as we thought, so we just bought the slices, one Meat Lovers and one Hawaiian, and after a 5 minute wait, it came out on a plate in a bag. The Meat Lovers pizza slice. was a pretty good size for only $ 5! It had large slices of pepperoni, sausages, and I believe ham with cheese that would stretch when you bit into it’s golden crust. The Hawaiian pizza slice was just as delectable, with it’s fun Canadian bacon and little chunks of pineapple which glazed upon a sweet before&after taste to every bite. I’ve enjoyed pizza before, but neverrrr like I do at Luigi’s! Then moving the eating area to the outside since it was a fine 62 degree night and the streets were alive with the ambiance of the folks leaving«The Depot» club, it was really fun watching the drunks stumble down the street for a taxi and/or food. I think I have a new favorite spot to hang out when I’m in midtown!

I’ve only been to one show at Luigi’s Fun Garden, it was the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s a narrow rectangle of a room, with no seating and no air circulation… it’s fine until the show starts, people start dancing, holy crap it gets *really* loud in the room, the coat comes off, people are moving around, it gets hotter, there’s no AC to be found, no window or door to be open, strip off another layer, seriously am I the only person about to have a heat stroke? We went outside during intermission… it was a cold winter night but it felt like heaven after that swampy-hot room. We ended up leaving because none of my group could take another hour. It would be fantastic if there was an outside door they could prop open, or even one of those roll-up garage doors. I can’t imagine going to a show in warm months! I’ll come back to Luigi’s for their pizza(see my Luigi’s Slice review) but I’ll probably skip another show.

I’ve played a few shows here and I have seen a few here, too. It is a nice, centrally located venue in midtown that is pretty simple and to the point: it’s a box with a stage in it. It can get loud as all hell in there due to the acoustics of the room, so I suggest bringing earplugs. The staff are pretty cool here. Some might call them hipsters, but if they are then they are the good kind — not the kind you want to push to the ground and take their bike just to wipe the snobby look off their face, which would normally be way out of your character… no, the good kind. If you are a musician playing here, try to keep it organized backstage because it can get really hectic back there with all the other band’s equipment, or frantic groupies in my case, haha j/k.

One of the best places to get a quick, easy, good tasting slice of pie in downtown sac… You need to get a slice of the Luigi’s Special pizza, a beer an head out and eat outside… the ambiance and energy of J and 20th is just fun to be a part of… Luigi’s has live music and good times… I eat here a few times a month, its a got spot of mine and I know you’ll love it…

I don’t remember the last time I went to a show here. The shows that were booked there appeared to suddenly change from what interested me to ‘meh’. Now, I don’t go to shows like I used to — the weekly, sometimes multi-day venture for live music — but I keep an eye on what’s playing locally. The Fun Garden hasn’t hit my interest in bands for quite a long time, enough to nearly forget they existed. I sort of look back in remembrance, thinking ‘remember when I used to be there nearly every week.’ It was fun for what it was when it opened. I’d go back if there was a band or bands that enticed me enough to leave the house. The homebody urge is pretty strong though, so it’d be a powerful fight.

So I wrote a review about the Slice, I suppose I should write this while I’m on it. But I really should go to bed… The Fun Garden is fun, enough said. Not sure where the garden part comes in, but I’m cool with that. As a few other people said — it is long and narrow, but nonetheless a very cool place to see a show. The sound was good, and so was the sound guy! He actually cared what the music sounded like instead of putting it on autopilot. It seemed like the bathroom was behind the stage so that was kind of distracting because people kept walking back and forth from the left side of the stage. It’s definitely an intimate venue and an interesting idea. When people used to say they were playing at Luigi’s I picture them rocking out while people were sitting at tables trying to eat their pizza. I personally like to be able to hear while I eat. Good thing it’s separate — works much better! I agree with someone else — that whole in the wall window for beer is not a bad idea! I too did feel old there — but definitely not the oldest:) I’m sure it depends on which show you go to too. All in all it’s a great all ages venue. I miss the El Dorado Saloon and the Cattle Club so it’s nice that Sacramento’s added another one — and right in the middle of midtown no less.

I came here last night to see a friend play and was charged $ 5 to get in, which was the cover advertised. Then my friend came ten minutes later and was charged $ 6. She felt weirded out by it so when we were sitting on the pizza side a little later(maybe ½ hr) we watched as each person who walked through the door was charged a different price ranging from $ 5 – 8 per person! I don’t know how the door lady determined all of the prices but my friend said she felt it went on a sliding scale of «coolness» or something like that. Gross. The same door lady told me that, with my wristband, beers were $ 3. Then I went to the counter and ordered a beer. After it was poured, she said«You know these three are discounted, right?» I responded by saying«Oh…okay, then I’ll have the [cheap beer]». She was annoyed that a second beer had to be poured and I realize I was being petty but it was the principle of it all. Or maybe just that I was in a bad mood. Anyway, she ended up charging me $ 3.50. The venue itself is narrow and long. Great art, very rough feeling. I can see how people would get into watching shows in a venue like this as it has a lot of feeling and makes you feel like you’re doing something rebellious. That’s maybe why it’s full of very very young hipsters. I felt old. That’s never ever a good thing. The music was grand but we stayed for very little of it because we wanted to go eat somewhere. Luigi’s was out of salad and I don’t eat pizza so our choices there were exhausted. I don’t understand the subjective pricing policy here nor do I understand why I spent any amount of time with this crowd. The people that work there and the people that hang out there are the snobby«too cool» type of kids and I’m just really not into it. That crowd is like termites the way they take places over. Maybe I’ll come back in six months when they’ve decided«everyone» goes to Luigi’s and they find somewhere even more hip to hang out.
