This bike shop is super on point. They are knowledgable about all types of bikes and brands, in comparison to other big box shops that only know what’s on their showroom floor. They are very reasonably priced and super easy to work with.

My boyfriend and I went into this bike shop on a whim. We were driving down T street and decided to stop by. Very small shop but the it makes up for it in their customer service. Robert was very helpful in answering our questions and was quick to get our order to us. I tried calling the number on this page but most of the time it goes to voicemail. I recommend going in to speak with them. Overall, very satisfied with everything from customer service to the quality of the product they built for us. Prices are reasonable as well, thought I should add that.

This place is great. They fixed my bike for cheap and it works great. My only complaint is at sometimes they aren’t open when they say they are. But when I can catch them open, this is where I go.

I am just basing my review from my own experience. I showed up at 11:10 because online and said they opened at 11:00. Nobody here there is a sign in the window that says they’ll be back right after lunch?!? Why not just open after lunch? Good thing the UPS guy showed up and told me that that sign was from the other day…

I paid him for work on 2 different bikes (3 wheels total). Returned in an untimely manner, 2 of the wheels are now flat. I even took one back to the shop, it was flat again before I got home! Both bikes are presently unusable and I am out $ 36. Never dealing with Robert again, except to ask for a refund.

I’m going to have to agree with Candice. This place is hit-​or-​miss with the customer service. Years ago, prices were low and work was done quickly. Last week, I referred a friend to PedalHard but now I regret it. The job was a little pricey and what’s worse, Robert could not meet the deadline. I figured 3 days was plenty of time to fix a couple flats but no. Granted, he did stay late to finish the job (after follow up phone calls). Maybe it’s time to hire another employee?

Pedal Hard is Awesome. If your a bike person, you will love this bike shop. If your a novice or maybe interested in checking out your options, you’ll love this shop. Get friendly advice and great customer service @ Pedal Hard. Puh-​Pow.

Robert is nice and helpful. Go when you have some time and you can learn a little too. He has some used parts and some new– it’s a small shop but there’s a lot here. There are other folks hanging around but I found everyone to be friendly– I wasn’t intimidated as a woman who need help with odds and ends and I felt the prices were very good.

So I am usually a very generous Unilocaler and I have been going to this shop for over a year for my bike needs. I bought my teenage daughters birthday bike here last year, a great affordable street bike. I decided today that I will probably NEVER return!
To be fair in the past I have stopped in here with my son and he has stopped in here by himself for simple help with tire pressure or a flat and Robert was super helpful, very friendly and nice, Awesome!
The downside is that not every visit are these guys awesome, it seems hit or miss here. Which it shouldn’t be, you’re a business and every customer is important! I for one being someone who has recommended this shop to every person I know!
So why I’m unhappy, I stopped in at pedal hard this afternoon with my 13 year old who recently flipped his bike to a fixed gear, the gear came apart (pretty common) I asked Robert what was wrong and he explained it was easy to fix and required no new part, perfect! I asked if he had time and how much it would cost and he said he had time and $ 5, no problem! But I didn’t have cash so I asked if I could use my card, and he suggested that they rather not run cards for such a small amount. So my son offered to do the work himself, (take the back wheel off, tighten the gear, put wheel back on) with the oversight and a little instruction from Robert and he was told no, that if we didn’t have $ 5 cash it wasn’t going to get fixed. Wow! I have spent hundreds here and praised this shop as the best! Here is a chance to share your knowledge and love of bikes with a 13 year old bike enthusiast and continue to keep a loyal customer.
This bike shop knows their stuff but is only sometimes helpful, if you want to hang out this is the place, if you actually have a time frame and need something fixed go elsewhere!

A real plus if you are into fixed gears/​track bikes. Robert KNOWS HIS STUFF!!!
I have only been here once (or twice in 1 ½ hours) and I was shocked to see that there is actually hope in the cycling world!!!
I bought a fixed wheel (bummer that my bike was stolen the next damn day) from this place but I was so impressed with the atmosphere, available inventory, neighborhood and Rob’s skills/​knowledge that I will definitely be a returning customer… while telling eeeeeeeveryone and their mom’s about this place!

My bike was having problem with the bottom bracket. Two other bike shops told me to replace the bottom bracket plus other services. I happened to bike by Pedalhard and took it in for a 3^rd opinion. Robert tightened the bottom bracket and charged me only for his time, a fraction of replacement cost. I am impressed with Pedalhard for its professional, friendly, and honest services. Good unpretentious bike shop. I like to go there and talk shop and buy parts. I would highly recommend them especially if you are in the area and are looking for gently used parts.

After at least 5 visits, I’ll give Robert and his partner 5 stars. If you do go, expect a very «laid-​back» type bike shop with a few young people hanging around most times.
Before you go: if you’re expecting rows of shiny new bikes to choose from, look elsewhere. If you’re interested in dropping off your bike for a $ 75 tune-​up and picking it up the next day, it’s probably «not gonna happen.» But, there are bike shops in just about every neighborhood already doing all that stuff.
PedalHard is:
1. A creative space for building up a vintage, fixie or custom bike — ON A BUDGET.
2. A good place to pick up a specialty, track or fixie frame, used or new.
3. A bike mechanic shop (it’s all behind the back wall) with experienced bike guys who are sensitive to keeping your costs down while getting your bike back on the road.
4. A bike parts service who can order any part or frame that you might be looking for.
As long as you’re not in a really big hurry.
I’ve brought 5 bikes there already. I hope they do real well.

This place is more like an old skate shop than a bike store. Robert (co-​owner) is cool, knowledgeable, capable, helpful, and fair. Everyone I’ve met there is very friendly and willing to help with advice. This is, by far, my favorite bike shop.

If you like bike bike shops with new bike after new bike, with a little shop in the back that charges you for every second they are touching you bike, then dont come to Pedalhard. If you are actually interested in knowing why your bike is going into the shop, so you can prevent it next time, if you like not spending a lot, and you dont mind hanging out for a bit, then Pedalhard is the best bike shop you can choose.
Yea, there are always, too many kids hanging out, swapping parts, loitering, but that is what makes this shop so awesome.
There are always spare parts lying around, plenty of tools, and a ton of knowledge. I always take my bike to Pedalhard. The staff is friendly, and they are willing to teach you a thing or two if you are willing to listen. I am working on a couple of project bikes, and I have probably racked up 6 – 7 shop hours. I think i have spent about 20 dollars in parts and labor.
Some of the parts, frames, wheels etc littering the walls are on consignment, and a lot of items are not price marked, but available upon asking.

honestly one of the best bike shops in Sacramento. The vibe is fresh and fun, the staff really knows about bikes, and the service was super friendly and great, unlike other big bicycle shops in the midtown core who are obnoxious/​rude, and overpriced.
OH AND THERE’S A FRICKIN ORIGINAL NINTENDO FOR YOU TO PLAY ON A COMFY COUCH. dang!
The dude Tomm that works there was really nice and had many suggestions that ended up saving me a good amount of money. That says a lot about this shop, and shows that they aren’t money hungry and want you to buy the most expensive thing like OTHER shops do.
I will most definitely come back to Pedal Hard for my next purchase or my other bicycle inquiries. Support this little local bike shop, folks!

Really great shop, everyones friendly. lots of nice parts, and tons of clean ass bikes.

We had a great time working with the fellas at Pedalhard!
This was the first time my partner and I were buying fixies and were a little unsure about it. We have both ridden bikes before, but nothing too hardcore and nothing that required any level of skill.
From the beginning of the process, Tomm went through the list of options we had; going as far as letting us know where else we could go to get fixie quotes, so that we don’t feel like we are being ripped off in any way. He also told us where he would be ordering the parts and how long it would take.
After talking it over and deciding on what we wanted, we went into the shop to talk to Tomm and Robbie, who would be the man behind the tools, putting it all together. They gave us some good advice on what kind of frames would work best for the type of riding we want to do.
They even worked with us to make some last minute changes because we wanted the bikes to look a certain way, and even though it took a little longer, we ultimately got our «twin» bikes!
The shop itself was clean and organized when we went. There were some folks hanging out outside doing tricks, which was fun to see. I don’t think my partner or myself are ready to even take our hands off the handle bars yet, much less do any tricks, but we have gone on a couple of long runs on the bike and feeling more comfortable with them everyday!
Overall, our experience was excellent! I know that they have only been in business for a few months, so there are some things that they are going to improve on, like having more stock and some needed forms. For the naysayers, I say give them some time! These guys are hardworking and care a lot about what they do! They are taking the steps towards the right direction, and I think they will be there in no time!

My poor bike had been dying a slow death for quite some time now, and since I ride it in all weather, I decided it was about time to stop neglecting and get her fixed.
I saw that Pedalhard had just opened, as I had read about it on some local blogs and heard about it through friends. I wanted to see what they had in the way of new rims, since the ones on my bike were causing my front tube to pop every few days. When I walked in, Tomm helped show me some different rims, and along with new products they also carry gently used items if you want to save some money. I picked out a nice set of Tessa eightinch wheels in white for my black bike. The spokes are black and I thought they looked pretty nice. I also picked out some bullhorn handlebars and had them convert my bike to a fixed gear, while leaving a front handbrake.
Tomm told me that they throw the labor in for free when you buy their parts, so that was a DEFINITE plus. It took a couple days, which is fine because they ran into a couple snags, but Tomm called me to update me on the progress of my bike and was very professional about everything.
I picked my bike up and the total cost for everything was about 200 dollars, and Tomm made sure he gave me an exact breakdown of the cost of everything that went in to it. My bike is beautiful again and she rides great. I am still getting used to riding her as a fixed gear, but we have a nice relationship and we’re both compromising.
Go to Pedalhard! It’s a small shop but they will take care of you.
