First review I saw suggested the 5 spice chicken phở, so that is what I got. If you dislike the flavor of star anise, this probably shouldn’t be something to order. I, on the other hand, thought it was good & tasted as it should: like 5-spice. I ordered this for take out along with Grilled pork chop over rice. The 5-spice was packaged with chicken broth(actual chicken broth from boiling chicken) and phở noodles with grilled 5-spice chicken over it. Technically it came as a 5-spice noodle«dish» with a side of salted chicken broth. Grilled pork chop: For the price paid, there didn’t seem to be much food compared to other Vietnamese places(on Stockton Blvd). Until I saw a 3rd piece of «meat»!! One bite into it & I nearly chipped a tooth. Not learning my lesson from the 1st time, multiple bite attempts also resulted in failure & near tooth-chipping. This piece was mostly(98%) bone. Was it a scapular part of the pig? The bone was fairly large, flat, & had the same thickness as the other pieces. So there were only 2 pieces of meat – total ripoff! I would’ve been better off ordering grilled pork(no bone!). The vinaigrette was too sweet! Definitely to cater to the American palate. Price-wise: it’s more expensive than the typical phở places & the portions are smaller. I’m better off driving a little more to get phở or any other noodle/rice dish.

RIP Phở Garden, you will be missed! Look like YD Tofu house is opening in its place… at least I have that consolation. (Shame on all you 1 star haters… happy now??)

Eh. We both got the combo bun. Not enough coriander, shallots, or basil(or any, I don’t quite recall.). The shrimp wasn’t seasoned at all and both it and the pork tasted like nothing but their dirty grill and had little flecks of burnt crap on it. The fish sauce that came with the bun didn’t have much else in it. The egg rolls were good. I guess. It’s close and convenient, but I won’t be back.

Unilocaled this place and recognized the name – they have a location in Serramonte in Daly City. Honestly, I was hesitant to try this place out because the other location has terrible service, the broth is BLAND and it is so damn overpriced… but the other phở places close to Natomas are meh at best, so I decided to try it out. First thing I noticed was the prices. More than a dollar to two dollars cheaper than the Serramonte location. Makes sense, that one’s in a mall in the Bay. Our server was very friendly. I ordered the beef combo phở, my wife and kids ordered steak phở. We all got our food and tried the broth. Wow, 20 times better than the other location. This place is our go-to spot for phở when we don’t wanna drive to our favorite place in Elk Grove. They only have one size for phở though. I’m still a fan though.

Nicely redecorated. previous place was a japanese sushi place. They have 2 TVs. AC worked. Lots of room for about 70+ ppl. Even a back round. We ordered the Calamari, portion size was small. IT was battered, just run of the mill stuff. Got the Beef stew phở and Combo phở. The meat portions were very small. Soup base was great tasting! Plenty of noodles. I only wish they had thick wider rice noodles. Price was a little expensive

Food here is okayyyyyy. It’s kind of pricy for what you get. Flavors are fine but you get barely any meat in anything and they skim on fresh veggies for the phở. My bf enjoyed the«clean«taste of his ga phở ., it was ok … But there was like two little strips of chicken and mostly noodles ! And same thing with my spring rolls … It was like sprinkled with tiny flakes of meat inside the roll and decorated with split skinny shrimp ! Taste was fine … But come on !! For 6 $ I expect a lot more !! The place is trying to be one of those young modern Asiany foody drink places. They serve boba type drinks here also. The interior décor is bland and boring. Location is in weird awkward space with limited parking. It’s fine nothing exciting.

Just had my first bowl of Phở from this place, let me just tell you it was PHO-nominal!!! Lol no seriously, their Chicken Phở(#24) was really good. The Broth wasn’t as bland as I had expected, the chicken was REAL chicken, the noodles were fresh, the sprouts were crunchy and fresh, cilantro was fresh, and the sauce gave it the seasoning that it craved. I called at 7:18p to place my order, got there at about 735p-740p. Was home before 8p. It was ready when I got there and there was no wait time. The lady who helped me was super chill, Heather. She made genuine small talk which was great. The restaurant is extremely clean, inviting with nice décor. It’s definitely a little bit more modern but doesn’t lose its«feel» the outside of the building does no justice for the inside. Parking is kinda weird, but that’s okay. When I got home the soup was HOT! Which is a huge plus because take out isn’t always as hot as you’d like. Only con is that it’s a little oily, much more than other places that I’ve been to. I will be back for soon.

This place is okay, the price are slightly here than other Vietnamese restaurants on Stockton Blvd and everything only comes in one size. I typically order the #1 combo for phở and it is okay. It isnt amazing and it isn’t awful. I have also ordered the bun with a little bit of everything and I think they skimp out on the portion since I am used to having lots of meat, shrimp and eggroll when I order bun from another Vietnamese restaurant. The service here is decent and I come back to this place because it is relatively close to my house and just convenient.

5SPICECHICKENPHO!!! EATITNOW!!! I am a phở junkie and have eaten phở all over Sacramento and the surrounding areas. There is no chicken phở within a 2 hour drive that can compare to the 5 spice chicken phở at phở garden. I add Sriracha and their pickled jalapeño garlic and it is… AMAZING! GONOWDOIT!(in Arnold voice) 1. Great remodel 2. clean bathrooms 3. lots of fans/ac If you really eat phở you know how rare those 3 things are in any phở restaurant. Wow, I’m going for lunch now. Thanks Unilocal for making me hungry.

I really enjoyed this place. Especially since it’s so close to where I live. Everything was very fresh. We have pork spring rolls and the vermicelli moods with pork. I thought the flavor was good and it filled me right up! The staff was friendly and the place was clean. My only complaint is being served lukewarm water with no ice I will definitely be returning

I dined here about two weeks ago with the gf. The parking lot is weird. The spaces are facing toward you were you pull in. We ordered 2 Coronas, wings, and phở. I was excited to have seen(via Unilocal) that they serve tofu in their phở. I had been craving tofu and decided I would order a rare steak with tofu. When my phở arrived the tofu was unrecognizable. I had to ask if it was tofu. I was told it was fried. I stare that I did not want it fried. They offered to remake my phở and stated they did not have raw tofu but I opted to pick it out. Wouldn’t the tofu be raw before you fried it? Do they get it already fried? I was expecting the kind of tofu you’d get in Miso soup. The service was good and the décor was nice but it was on the pricey side for phở $ 34. I’m not likely to make the drive from Folsom again.

Parking sucks and it’s crazy. But to save yourself some grief, instead of trying to park in the front of the place, try the back lot. Now that the technicalities are out of the way, let’s get down to the good stuff. the food. Hubby wasn’t feeling too well so I decided to grab some phở for him(brisket) since we’ve had such great luck with Phở and all its healing powers to knock out a cold or whatever thing is ailing you at the time. I love fresh spring rolls so of course I had to go and order myself some. I ordered a vermicelli combo platter too. In summary, all of it was yummy. Phở-the broth was steaming hot and it came with all of the fixings. I would have preferred more of the meat but the broth is what has the healing powers than the meat so we let it slide. There was a ton of noodles, bean sprouts, a couple of lemons/limes, hot sauce, the sauce that comes with the phở(I always forget what it is), and the rest of the yummy fixings that usually come with phở. Fresh spring rolls-2 large rolls cut in half. There was a ton of goodies inside. The meat and the shrimp were delicious. I could personally do away with the peanut sauce that came with it. It was too oily. I’m more of the creamy peanut sauce person to go with my fresh spring rolls than the oily version that came my meal. Vermicelli combo platter. There was a ton of food that came with this platter. There was the obvious vermicelli, the sauce that puts it all together to add to its splendor, the pork and the shrimp. There was so much food, I had plenty for lunch for the next day. By the way, fried spring rolls were also included. They were crunchy and flavorful. I didn’t need the sweet and sour sauce that they added to my arsenal of condiments. Thai iced tea. My favorite but they only have one size. I usually kill this little treat before my food even gets to be cooked. I wish this could have been bigger. In addition to the great food that I ordered, I noticed the décor. It was inviting There were tvs that kept me entertained away from my phone(other than checking in through Unilocal to this place that is). There is open seating. Mind you, this place isn’t all that big but it’s big enough for the lunch rush and those that come in on occasion when they don’t want to cook that evening I think the space is just right for them. Any bigger and they would drown. The outside façade doesn’t match what you find when you walk in through the door. You will be pleasantly surprised. You won’t want to leave with how welcoming this place is. Try it out. You may just want to stay longer than you normally would at a food place. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. What more could you ask for?

While this place is not«technically» new, it has been given a huge face lift and a new menu. The outside is set in a rundown little mini mall, but do not let that dissuade you– the inside is modern, new and very clean. I love the display of gigantic Phở bowls when you first walk in, it always makes me start to crave the soup immediately. I have been here several times now, and tried a variety of items. The five spice chicken Phở is amazing. The chicken has a nice char on it which they bring on the side, and when added to the broth with all the fresh components, has a smokey flavor to it. We have also ordered the #20 combination Phở, which has a great variety for someone who wants different meats and veggies. The Vegetarian Phở, my go-to, is FILLED with a variety of veggies including carrots, corn, bok choy, bean sprouts, celery, fried tofu and the usual sides(basil, jalapeño, lime). This is a filling soup and I always take home at least half. I have made some picky requests and they always are super careful to get it right. Each bowl has a significant amount of noodles, they do not scrimp on these. The fresh rolls are also VERY good. They are on the larger side, and while we usually order the tofu rolls, the tofu is a large thick cut piece with all the veggies and herbs stuffed to the brim. What I love about their rolls is there is minimal rice noodles– so many fresh rolls are 90% noodle and these are 90% tofu/veggie. The sweet/vinegary/pepper dipping sauce is light and delicious. I have not had a problem with the soup being«too oily», however my only issue, and this is why it is not a 5 star, is there is some MSG in the soup. Every time I ask, the polite and efficient servers always say, «YES there is MSG, but only a little». I know it is hard to find Phở without it, but it does exist, and a girl can dream. LOL Given the seasoning, sometimes it is too salty for me and I do get a headache later. Why eat it? It is down the street from where I live, the service is always polite, efficient and sweet, food comes out within 10 minutes, and well, it is pretty darn yummy for a local place. Prices are good, my water is never empty, and I always have leftovers for a second meal.

I think the prices are slightly higher than I would expect or like for vietnamese food. I like that it is close to my house. I think the flavors are good but portion size are small. I ordered Bun Bo Hue, but I felt like there wasn’t that many noodles in there. It was odd though, because they gave me the sauces on the side — like the spices and the fish paste thing. My mom ordered the pork with rice, and my sister ordered the combination phở. I really enjoyed the pork a lot, it had a lot of good flavors. As for the phở, it was pretty good — the soup wasn’t too salty or it wasn’t full of MSG or anything. I just wish the portion size was bigger. Parking can be difficult since it’s a small lot. The service was good here too. I asked for small bowls and such, and they were really good with providing us with what we need. I probably will come here if I am craving phở since it’s close-by to my house, but it’s definitely not the best for your buck.

Ordered to go. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the male waiter. The female waitress took my order. She was nice. The to go order wait time was not too long, about 10 minutes. Ordered the pork chop rice. The pork chop itself was a tad dry, but the flavor was OK, savory and smokey. I didn’t like how they used a piece of lettuce as a garnish because it was sitting in my pork chop and the lettuce itself was just gross and welted, not very appetizing. Also ordered the fried calamari appetizer, kinda small portion for the price, $ 7.50. I wish they just added another handful. The fried calamari was fried very well, nice and crispy and well seasoned. My sister was not a fan, she thought it was too crunchy? Too crunchy? My sister is a tad of a hater, so once she’s starts, she can’t stop. She wasn’t a fan of this place, she won’t give it another shot. I think I’ll go back on more time to try the phở. Service was great though.

Wow! They really made this place look super sleek and modern! Everything is really clean and sanitary! We ordered the combination phở(rare steak, tripe, well-done flank, brisket, soft tendon, and beef meatballs), beef meatball noodle soup, and crispy imperial rolls aka egg rolls. All of the food came out really fast and everything was really good!!! Egg rolls were hot and crispy, phở soup base was really flavorful and decent sized! Service was great! Our server was super friendly and attentative! So happy they finally opened a phở place near my house! Will definitely come back!

I was so excited when I saw a phở place opened right down the street from my house! Was not disappointed! The food was great, we ordered 5 spice chicken rice plate, chicken phở, and salad rolls. All were delish! The 5 spice chicken was very sweet which threw me off because I was expecting spicy but still good. Prices are also great, $ 7 a plate and $ 3 beers!!! Lastly the atmosphere is nice, felt right at home very modern and clean with lots of flat screens playing sports games. Will definitely be back! Only downside is very limited menu if you don’t feel like eating phở… would be nice if they added some stir frys or something.

4 stars for now — Yay! I’m a fan — but definitely on their way to a 5. And already a 5 if you live in really close by. Phở Garden food is really good. My husband and I have been there for both Phở and non-phở meals, and have thoroughly enjoyed the fresh and flavorful dishes we’ve consistently been served. We live really close by, and we’re sufficiently lazy that an «it’s ok» threshold would probably bring us in the door occasionally, but we’re THRILLED that it’s genuinely really freakin’ good. The chicken and the rare steak phở were both delicious, and had a good amount of meat in each. We’ve also had tasty vermicelli bowls, and an unexpected stand out dish: 5 Spice Chicken rice plate. It’s a couple of large chicken cutlets marinated in heavenly something. It’s not a dish I have seen before, or would necessarily associate with a Vietnamese restaurant. That’s the interesting thing about this place — their limited menu of seemingly random stuff(like the pork chop and fried egg rice plate) reminds me of something a Vietnamese person who happens to be an exceptional cook might make for you at their house… rather than just the standard phở joint fare done in a standard way. It’s a place we will continue to come for dinner when we don’t feel like cooking, not just when we want phở. As some have noted, they are working out a few kinks. For example, they were out of basil when we ordered phở on a Saturday afternoon. That’s not ok when half your menu is phở, which would be accompanied by basil.(Why didn’t someone immediately drop everything and go buy some?) But this place has promise(and beer and tvs with football, if you care about that) and it’s worth giving checking out.

You can tell they have only been open for a short time.. but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! Chicken Soup very flavorful without even adding the fixins. Calamari is fried well with clean oil! Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls are great appetizers. If I could change anything, I would put fish sauce and sugar on the table along with the Hoisin Sauce and Sriracha… They were out of fresh lemonade, but in all actuality, water is healthier for me any ways. Service was excellent and very accommodating. Prices perfect, and location is handy… I hope they stay in business for a long time… BTW, for you sports lovers, plenty of TV’s to watch!
