I got my hair cut here a few times 3 or 4 years ago. He does a decent enough job, but the problem is that he’s almost deaf so the conversations were along the lines of him asking yes-or-no questions and then him ranting for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. What should have been a 20 minute haircut would turn into a 45 – 60 minute torture session(generally about how screwed up liberals are). He’s definitely a relic. But if you want to feel like you’ve stepped back in time, give it a shot.

I’ve been to this guy a number of times, I don’t go anymore because he’d talk about the same stuff everytime that I basically didn’t want to hear: his opinion on the Iraq War, religion, and government. He doesn’t have any dirty magazines, but there are plenty of old magazines to look at and he’s got usually the Chronicle and the Bee to read while you wait. He has some interesting stories, but a couple of times I’ve checked my hair at home and there have been areas that he missed, like the crucial right over the ear. He’s told me before that he doesn’t do ladies hair, but if he had, he’d have made better money at it or something. He also wishes for the days when men got more haircuts, like after WW2. He’s semi-retired and has really short/odd hours.
