I’ve been here numerous times for karaōke, and it’s usually a great time. Hank and Marisa are fantastic, but I will never again go for karaōke with Luis. He was impossible to hear, and, in spite of my putting my request in his hand, he didn’t mark it as received until nearly two hours later. From here on out, when I see Luis, I’ll take my business to Distillery.

Came here on a Friday night. They had double well drinks for $ 5 and karaōke so I was happier than a pig in shit. Did a song, sat at the bar, drank my whiskey Coke, and had a great time. Ended up meeting the manager who is pretty fucking cool and can sing her ass off as well. I’m not from the area, but this place makes me wish I was; I felt right at home.

Great time! Management change! Beer change ! Bartender Mike very attentive! It was just an afterwork stop since it’s been at least 25 years since I was«up» there. It’s not the old«cop» hang out it use to be. the new flooring, clean windows, nice and bright gave this old place a brand new feel. The bartender shared some of the neighborhood events that were coming up and supported the fact that they are still connected with the Folsom Blvd/J street bars from way back when. The only reason for 4 out of 5 is that I haven’t experienced any other crowds, like night time, weekend but happy hour was just perfect!

This establishment was surprisingly clean. For a hole in the wall I was expecting sticky tables and dirty floors, this is not the case. The drinks were reasonably priced and the bartender was attentive. There were some rather loud patrons, one who sounded like a barking dog but perhaps that is to be expecting when some sports game is on tv. The second and final drink I ordered was a concoction the bartender created. When we left here my boyfriend said my lips taste like a maple donut. All in all, a good bar.

No light beers! We went on a pub crawl, and I’m trying to stay health conscious(LOL). Other than that, just a normal bar. You do have to walk up a flight of stairs to get there just FYI and you aren’t getting anything more than what you’d get anywhere else. Still probably a fun place to hangout occasionally.

Love this place. They don’t serve food, but they sure do serve up the fun. Had a blast singing with my friends on karaōke night. Our bartender Shannon ROCKS. Even though it was packed, she took care of us and got us our drinks Pronto.

Still a bar. No trends and no frills. And my friends and I love it for that. It’s our regular bar. Great place to people watch or have fun with a group. Pretty cool place for karaōke. Friendly service. Good drinks. Watch your step on the way in and out!

Dear Pinecove, drinking from your glasses reminded me why I haven’t been to your bar for like 10 years. Your dishwasher is terrible. All your glasses smell just as dirty as they did 10 years ago. I like the new floor though.

4 stars for the cheap drinks that are still cheap after 10 years I thought the prices would go up or something. Anyways they finally got rid of the stinky carpet ! thank god no more rotted beer smell. They actually redid the floors so it’s decent inside now. I only came because a friend was doing something for 98 rock last night but I’ll definitely come back for some cheap drinks!

Pine Cove is a decent neighborhood bar which is lacking these days. The place is rather big and popular, especially during Karaōke nights. They have cold pitchers and a lively crowd of all ages — 21& over. Prices are pretty average, but stick to the standards and you will be OK. This is not a place to expect complicated fancy drinks, but everyone usually has a good time. Do not worry about the terrible parking; you should not be driving to a bar anyway!

New wood floors which are nice(no more disgusting carpet that smelled like vomit and popcorn), but in order to offset the cost they raised the prices of all their beers. Also, we were there Saturday and I realized when I got home that I forgot to leave a signed copy of my receipt when I closed out my tab. Both copies were in my purse. Interesting how an unauthorized $ 8 tip was added to my tab the next day. Shady, and I doubt very legal.

People call it a dive bar, but it’s far from cheap — shots at $ 10? Brutha please. That being said, the karaōke was a frickin’ blast, and the crowd was fun — we came after a Sac Republic game! I’d say the biggest problem with this place is the weird smell — gotta find a way to ventilate!

FRIDAYNIGHTS are perfect for karaōke! I love love LOVE the DJ! I think it is so cool to be in an upstairs bar looking out at the streets. There is always a great crowd. Very diverse with a wide range of ages. They definitely deserve a visit from anyone that wants to grab a beer! I’ll see you guys again when i make it to sacramento!

Hey… its the Pine Cove! You gotta give them some love. Its always there when you need a great dive bar. Brought a friend here who had never had the dive bar experience… he liked it. We came on a Thursday and had the place almost to ourselves. Thurs-Sat is Karaōke and there was no one there… so the host kept doing songs… ok! Great place to catch a game on the screens, play darts, hang out and drink cheap beer!

PBR on tap! What else is there to say? This is one of my favorite places in Sacramento to have a drink. It is calm and cool. Great place to have a night out with the pals, or a great way to start a date with as wife that needs a drink after a long week with the kids!

Love this place! Great reliable bar, can always count on a good time! The brunette bartender there(I think her name is Alex?) is so sweet, she is always so attentive and helpful!

So far, this is my favorite bar in Sacramento! The atmosphere is FUN. There’s KARAOKE!(And it’s free!) The drinks are CHEAP and STRONG. The bathrooms are clean and decent for a dive bar. And there’s no one yelling at my too-drunk friend who’s asleep in the corner of the bar. ;) The only con is that the list for karaōke is long, but it ain’t too bad — by the time they get to you, you’ll be drunk and ready instead of nervous and scared!

Cute townie sort of place! I would never have realized that this existed, if it were not for a school thing that was held here. This place is really unpretentious, which I loved. The people were down to earth, in regular clothes. The girls didn’t look skanky, and no one really wore too much makeup. And KARAOKE! I love karaōke, but I do have a few gripes about how they host that here. 1. The wait time was ridiculous. My friend and I arrived at 10 pm and turned in our karaōke slip. We didn’t get to sing until midnight. That’s just too long. 2. We noticed that the karaōke lady kept the«good» mic in her back pocket — which she used whenever she sang a song — and which she lent to her friends or the people that she knew/recognized — while everyone else used the two subpar mics. I didn’t like that at all. :/ The drinks are pretty good and pretty cheap, so that’s a plus. The bartenders were really nice, and it wasn’t too hard to get their attention. The one who was helping us actually remembered my order the second time around, which is always nice. My friend and I plan on coming back, because we really want to dominate the karaōke, haha. Oh, lofty dreams.

Karaōke Saturday at Pine Cove, you ROCKED me! My friend lives nearby so after a day of moving furniture, we were in the mood for a cold one. We walked over around 8pm, it was pretty empty and the staff were starting off the karaōke. The barback was a friendly guy who helped my friend(who, bless her heart, doesn’t have a working relationship with alcohol like I do) decide what kind of drink she wanted, then mixed her up a tasty concoction. We had a few drinks, enjoyed the free popcorn machine and chatted up the bartender as the place filled up. By 9pm the place was getting packed, a couple huge parties came in, and the whole bar was ready to drink, sing and be merry. I’m not obsessed with karaōke or anything but I loved this vibe. The karaōke machine had everything from obscure classics, Sinatra-style big band songs, new pop hits, country ballads and everything inbetween. Seriously, name another karaōke machine that has«Part of Your World» from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. This is the first karaōke place I’ve been to where if the song’s good, the entire place sings along. Imagine a whole dive bar of happy drunks singing along to Billy Idol’s «Rebel Yell» or Garth Brook’s «Friends in Low Places». FREAKING. LOVE. IT. Karaōke, cheap drinks, free popcorn, friendly cool staff(who occasionally blaze that karaōke machine up!), and a pretty good crowd of patrons. If Pine Cove served bacon, I’d never leave!
