What a mistake to come here for a chicken sandwich! I will never do that again! I thought it was a scrambled egg on there but hubby said that’s the piece of chicken meat. What the heck? I did order a sammy with chicken, bacon, onion rings with bbq sauce but it was so pathetic. I won’t ever be back for that again and don’t you make that mistake either! I can’t believe we did that! Guess where we ended up right afterwards? You guessed it if you know us well!

After a long exhausting day at the Sacramento International Auto Show. My wife and I decided to grab a bite at Smash Burgers which was just a few blocks away in the Market Square at Arden Fair. This particular Smash Burger is in a food court inside Market Square. Like most food courts you order your food at the counter, then find seating near-by and wait until your number or buzzer goes off telling you your food is ready to be picked up. Looking over their menu they offered burgers of course, and salads. Trying to be more self conscious as to what we eat, we both ordered the grilled chicken burger. What a mistake ! Not worth the price ! I ordered the grilled chicken(Avocado club), which consisted of fresh avocado, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing and mayo on a multi –grain bun”. My wife ordered the grilled chicken(BBQ, Bacon, & Cheddar.) «BBQ sauce, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar &shay stack onions on an egg bun.» Have you ever heard the phrase«Where’s The Beef? In an old Wendy’s commercial? Today we were saying „Where’s the Chicken ?“ The first thing my wife asked me was where is the chicken? The chicken piece was smashed paper thin to an eighth of an inch in width. No wonder we couldn’t find it ! To say the least we were both very disappointed in our» grilled chicken burger”! Is this how they got the name«SMASHBURGER?» If we ever eat at Smash Burgers again We are sticking with their Regular beef burgers or one of their salads. But we will never order their«Grilled Chicken Burger» again!!! I hope this information is helpful !

It’s hard to give a bad review to business, but smash burger, I’m sorry man u deserve 1 star. N that’s only for the nice cashier n good chocolate shake. I don’t know either the recipe is horrible, or the chef that unable to execute it well. Imagine, if u can squeezed the oil out of burger, how much oil they used in process of making it? This burger it’s not worthy of heart attack!!! Another thing, the onion ring, if u cut that thin, it want leave u with any sweet flavor. At least season with more spice or as simple as salt n paper. French fries. it’s basic if u cut that thin u can’t fry it too long couse it burn, but if u fry too soon, it end up not crunchy. In addition, no seasoning on the fry! Chipotle souce has undescribable flavor n watery! Basically, if u don’t season the food, what we expect is good souce cause it help cover the taste. Maybe, number one souce at smash burger is ketchup n mustard! I know this place is not umami burgers nor high end burger, however, simply taste will do like Mc D.

I used to love smash burger. I’m a vegetarian so I appreciate their black bean burger option. Unfortunately the food today was absolutely inedible. The french fries were hard, cold, and so chewy I had to spit them out. The sandwich was okay, but missing the toppings I ordered. The gentleman behind the counter was kind enough to give me new fries when I complained, but they were just as gross as the first batch, only a little bit hotter. Majorly disappointed after spending $ 12. I will not be back.

I’ve been to this location several times.(+) Craig, behind the counter, is always friendly and welcoming, and has a wicked sense of humor. (+) Location: Arden Fair food court, so the ambiance is airy and casual. Perfect for a quick bite before seeing a movie, or meeting with an old friend for the first time in years. I’ve never had a difficult time finding an open table. (+) Food: always hot, fresh and tasty. The Baja black bean burger is one of my favorites. It’s consistently tasty and tender(I’ve never had the experience of having undercooked beans here, unlike at other establishments). The rosemary truffle fries are always crisp and flavorful, with the perfect amount of salt. We always ask for the side of chipotle mayo, which takes the flavor experience to the next level. I tried the sin city burger with no egg, and it was delicious. Tender meat, juicy, perfect amount of fried onions, and crisp bacon piled on. I had them cut the burger in half because I thought it might be too big. It wasn’t. It’s a standard 4oz burger. Perfect size. (-) Cleanliness: yesterday was the first time I noticed that the basket/tray I had was dirty. After finishing my meal, i discovered that my tray had another stuck to it, with a paper liner. I separated it to discover that it was dirty, with old popcorn and cheese stuck to it. When I bussed my table and tossed the paper liner on my boyfriend’s tray, I discovered chunks of what looked like feta cheese stuck in the grate of the tray. They could spend more time spraying and wiping down the trays between patrons. TL;DR come for the food, but inspect your tray before plunging in.

I thought it was gross. If you still want to go… don’t order buffalo fries expecting anything else besides fries and flavor powder… or whatever that was, all season salt? Sucky fries and milk shake, I wouldn’t re-visit to test out anything else on the menu.

What can I say? Smashburger is delicious, this location did not disappoint. I usually order the Spicy Jalepeno Baja chicken sandwich(fried) and a side of rosemary fries. Yummy in my tummy! Love that everything is fresh and made to order. Service was good, food was ready quickly. I will be back!

So a few days ago my boyfriend and I were out at the mall and got around to finally trying smash burger. We had heard mixed reviews about it so it was on our bucket list in war of the burger chains . This may not be an accurate representation of the place because it was the one in the food court outside of the movie theaters in the mall. We will try another location for a better review. I ordered a BBQ chicken burger. I got my choice of getting it grilled or fried which was good. It came with onion rings on the top and to be honest, it was a little bit salty for my taste. The onion rings were not that great and I was expecting more of a whole chicken breast instead of a processed pre frozen slab of chicken that was given to me. SMASHFRIES-those were over seasoned but they were still awesome! It was actually the best part of the whole meal! The customer service was actually awesome! I was happy to get good guest service from a mall burger stand! The guy at the register did know what he was doing and also knew the menu!

The truffle burger is one of my absolute favorite burgers. I’m not big on burgers but this one has me coming back over and over. The smash fries are the perfect addition. One disappointment though is the fried pickles aren’t what you’d expect. A little soggy, so we won’t order those again.(They’re not on the menu but they will make them.)

The hubs & I have come to this location MANY a time, & have come to recognize the staff(not by name or anything) as well as know what to expect: great food a majority of the time w/fairly ok service. Staff never seemed… up to par though. & At times, that crossed over in the food w/minor mishaps here & there. Obviously nothing drastic enough to stop us from coming back, but noticeable enough to have a preference in locations.(We’ve been to most all the local locations, & yes, there is a ranking on location preference.) Yeah, we had this place for a solid 4 stars, mostly due to the consistency in the food. What made tonight’s visit different than any other visit in the past few years? It WAS the staff. You see, me & my better half actually pay attention to details when we’re out. So when we sat down to wait for our order, we watched them. We noticed there was not 1 familiar face! Hmm… Next we noticed, every single worker was… actually working! No one chit-chat’n. The cook was cooking. The cashier was wiping off the counters, restocking items, like Oreo minis for the shakes! One guy was busy wiping tables & taking out the trash, keeping things tidy. It was a slow night & refreshing to see the staff getting the job done & no fuss! Also nice to see the cashier wash her hands so many times after doing various tasks behind the counter. Cleanliness is a big thing for us. Then the food came &EVERYTHING was on point!!! My bacon cheeseburger. His BBQ bacon cheeseburger. Our Smashfries. It was all so, amaze balls! Just like the first time! The flavor & juiciness of that burger… oh-so-good! Good amount of bacon on both burgers, always a plus. We couldn’t help but think«they’re back! But w/new staff!» SOO happy to have decided on celebrating National Hamburger Day w/dinner here! 4 thumbs waaay up! If you haven’t made it to Smashburger, what are you really waiting for? Shakes are really good too! Not too runny but not so thick you can’t drink it… just right & good flavors! Final thought: As I sat eating & enjoying«one tasty burger», I read the various messages they had on a white board hanging in the kitchen. Various customer-oriented statements that made valid points on the Smash experience. At the bottom, it said something like, it’s their goal to make them our burger place of choice… something like that. Well, as the hubs said: «Goal achieved!» Thank you to the entire crew that worked tonight!!! Your hard work is paying off & noticed, even when you may not think it. See you again, hopefully soon!!!

This place is OK. I would rather drive just a few blocks down to The Habit. The shift leader Craig was SUPER Nice!!! Oh fyi if you want to drink a beer you have to sit down in that small tiny area they have where they have the drink station.

Great great burger place! U got a lot of competition such as in N out, Habit, Carl’s Jr, Burger King, BJ’s, etc… But smash is a great place… I tried the one in the Arden fair area and it did not disappoint! Food: I had the truffle Swiss mushroom burger and it was one of the best burgers i ever had! It was the truffle Mayo mixed with the delicious mushrooms and Swiss cheese that made every bite mouthwatering! The burger was perfectly cooked with a little pink in it just the way I like it! The fries were great and thin and crispy! The food is always made FRESH and comes out got! They also have Smash fries that is marinated with garlic, rosemary and olive oil… But I’m not a Rosemary fan! Service: good and efficient! They care about the customers and are friendly. Area: I hate the Arden area… So ghetto full of dumb people… Also, there’s a lot of competition in this food court… Plutos, dos coyotes, teriyaki grill, subway, and Panda Express… But if you are craving burger, smash is the way! I will definitely return… Eat and shop!

I’ve been here a few times, and the food has always been good. I like the variety of burger options, and the smash fries are amazing. The staff is sort of hit or miss. The first couple of times I ate here, I was served by a… larger gentleman… who was enthusiastic and friendly and even brought our food out to the table, though this isn’t really a table service kind of place. But I haven’t seen that guy in a while, which is a shame, because the rest of the staff could stand to learn a few things about customer service from him.

Do you like the all natural burger at Carl’s Jr, the burgers at Burgers and Brew, or Fuddruckers? If so, this may good place to try. PROS: FOOD: Whenever I eat at this place I usually order the spicy guacamole burger. It comes with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, onions, lettuce, and a nice chipotle sauce all served on a fresh bun. The beef has an excellent taste; its fresh, well seasoned, and grilled to perfection-love it! LOCATION: Conveniently located at Arden Mall next to the United Artist movie theatre. If you ever find you and your friends unable to decide on what to eat, you can always check this place out because there is something good for everyone. SERVICE: The staff at this location is friendly and welcoming, which was pretty impressive because we showed up at 8:55pm thinking they were open until 10pm and they actually closed at 9pm. Craig led the charge with excellent customer service. CONS: FRENCHFRIES: My only complain about Smashburger would be their fries. They are the shoe string style fries which are not my favorite. I prefer the thick cut fries like at Red Robin. I wish they had both options. CONSENSUS: If you’re looking for a decent burger without having to pay for a tip at a traditional restaurant or the standard fast food quality, then give this place a try. You’ll get restaurant quality at fast food prices.

Just a stand inside of a food court but I was pleasantly surprised! The lady who took my order was so nice, asked how my New Year’s Eve went, etc. I hate just being rushed through an order… She really took her time and made sure to be personable. All I ordered was a chicken sandwich… One star off because it’s a little pricier than I think it should be. For a chicken sandwich alone it was more than $ 6, and I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but this isn’t a sit down restaurant and the sandwich only had onion, tomato, lettuce, and pickles. Maybe I’m being cheap. The chicken came out looking like a flat piece of fried egg. I almost told them I didn’t order egg because I was sure that’s what it was. I expected it to be really dry from being pressed out but it was insanely juicy and tasty. It came on a wheat bun which I was really into as well.

Ok, let’s just face it. The fries here suck. They’re like those skinny Pik-Nik potatoes that come in a can. You know, the tooth pick sized potatoes your mom puts on casseroles. Come on! Nobody likes a small fry. If these guys switched to steak fries they could enslave the known world. That aside, the burgers are really good! I had the Nor Cal. It came with bacon, cheese, tomatoes and grilled onions. The toppings were great but the real star is the meat. It tastes fantastic and was cooked perfectly. The patty was well seasoned, a little bit crisp and very, very juicy. Seriously, there was juice everywhere! I thought my mouth was having an orgasam! My advice, if you want to get your mouth off, come here for a burger. They’re so good, you’ll want to go for multiples!

While in line at smash burger I was talking to one of the smash burger chefs who was on his lunch break! Sure glad I did! Armando was his name and he told me all about his favorite burger that was on the secret menu! «Sin City«fried egg, bacon, beef, cheese and onion strings on an egg bun!!! I have to admit he could of said anything after fried egg and bacon and I would of tried it! The mixture of sweetness, saltiness and crunch was simply amazing! This burger moves into my #1 spot! I wish the egg were a little bit more runny, but I’m not complaining! Thanks Armando your the man!
