I recently moved to Tallac Village so I had to check out the neighborhood bar. It was a two person operation with one bar tender and another person checking IDs. The place is not terribly big so I would not come with a big group. They had pool tables which I personally hate but that’s my opinion and you can have your own. Definitely surprised that they were rocking several local beers. I remember seeing offerings from Rubicon, Hoppy Brewing, and New Helvetia. I think there were more that I forgot. So thumbs up for that, The scene there was young couples to old timers who have probably been in the neighborhood for decades. This is not a destination bar by any means but definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. $ 10 minimum purchase to use a credit card.

I’m not much of a regular bar patron, typically avoid them but I came across this place a few years ago after an invite from a coworker. This place has a great atmosphere, friendly crowd and unlike most bars I’ve been to I don’t automatically feel totally out of place when I walk in the door. They have 2 pool tables, Darts, Foozball And my personal favorite: shuffleboard. awesome. also for the sports fans they have the«NFL Ticket» and too many televisions so you don’t have to miss the game. Drinks are super reasonable at 3.50 for a bottled colors light, and 3.50 fr well drinks. personally I’ve always loved my super simple screw drivers and they do them well. happy hour from 2−6pm with 2.50 wells and all day happy hour every Wednesday. awesome.

Best Bloody Mary in Sacramento, better than River City Saloon in Old Sac. Best part is: the bartender has never had one himself. That’s David Copperfield.

If you are looking for a pretty awesome dive bar, this is the place. There is plenty of seating, 2 pool tables, fooseball and shuffle board. The drinks are made well and the price is really good. If you were to drive by you will miss this place. You have to look for it or know that it’s there which is good because you do not get the crappy crowd. When I was there both times, the croud was a mixture. Being that it’s in walking distance, I plan on going back soon.

This place has the potential to be a great bar, but the owner seems intent on keeping it a crap hole. The lady bartender that seems to be the only employee has the personality of a wet mop. One time I brought a date there and apparently the owners nephew was in charge that evening. He was drunk, belligerent and picked a fight with my date. Months later I went back with a boyfriend, we had pizza and were playing foosball when the bouncer approached and accused me of stealing someone’s wallet. I thought he was joking, but he wasn’t and said we had to leave. I could hardly process what was going on because it was so incredibly ridiculous. Hopefully something will happen to cause there to be new ownership.

Love this little dive bar with a home-y feel :) Everyone just about knows each other and welcomes you on in. The staff is nice and welcoming. There are plenty of TVs to watch football on too :)

So excited to find this dive bar only a couple blocks from my house. Perfect for lots of drinks and stumbling home. Loved the shuffleboard! Especially considering that the points board actually worked. We came here on Sunday night with a friends just to check it out. I love all the games and there’s plenty of seating. They’ve got an internet jukebox too so the music selection is great. To be honest: I was imbibing prior to our jaunt to Tallac Lounge, so I’m not really aware of what was on tap or available. Boyfriend and guy friend were happy with the beer selection, girl friend had whiskey sour and I had a Jameson on the rocks. Boyfriend paid for everything so I also have no idea how the prices are. Love the vibe. Love the games. Confused by the AA meeting place right next door. Poor choice of location on someone’s end.

Best dive bar I have been to in awhile. Went there on a whim to watch the Packer game and who knew I would walk in feeling like I found my new home. Everyone there is crazy friendly and there was even a dog in there as well. Tons of TVs that had every game on, shuffleboard, darts and plenty of pool tables. The staff are incredible and the place is super clean. The women’s bathroom was the only sketch part as the first stall is just a toilet with a shower curtain to hide you so ladies bring a friend or try and lock everyone out. ;)

I love this place! We call it our neighborhood watering hole because we’re there at least once a week. Milano’s pizza delivers here if you get hungry at no additional charge and the bar hooks you up with all the condiments you may need. It’s a great place for all kinds of groups with pool in the back and a juke box that has it all.

Basically the only walking option for Tahoe Park locals. There’s not much to complain about here at your run-of-the-muck Sacramento dive bar. They have a juke-box with a great collection of motown hits and the shuffleboard has a nice homecourt lean to it. i don’t think I come here as often as I should, but I’m sure my liver and family thank me for that.

The Tallac Lounge is a pretty nice place to hang out as dive bars go. It is located in the middle of the Tallac shopping center. On Thanksgiving eve, our Unilocal friend Jason J. arranged a UYE at this bar which worked well as a good choice. When we first entered, we were asked if we had ID’s. It was nice to be asked at our age, but it is more legality than a compliment. Nice to be humored though! As we reached for our driver’s licenses, the guying manning the entrance waived us through without looking at them and said«as long as you have ID’s, you can pass». I noticed that this was the same protocol for other patrons as well. I guess having a fishing license does have its benefits! LOL! Initially we sat at the bar as friends arrived little by little. The bartender seemed a little aloof, but focused on customer service without the warm fuzzy greetings. I got my usual drink, while Joe K. ordered a beer from their limited selection, and really enjoyed it, but forgot the name. We will have to go back so he can get it again! Happily for us, it was happy hour and it just so happened to be Wed. when well drinks are $ 2.00! Lucky for me! Soon, more of our fellow Unilocalers came in and we found a large table area near a TV. I had a nice time seeing everyone that I hadn’t seen in a while as we talked, joked and gossiped. I also observed that this bar seems to be a popular neighborhood hangout as it got busier later in the evening. There are a number of your standard old school games to serve as entertainment and pass times, such as pool tables, pin ball machines, foosball, darts, and flat screen TV’s set up for the sports fans. If you are a Raiders fan, than this place is a nice tribute to the team! Posters and other memorabilia decorate the bar. I wish we could have stayed longer, but Thanksgiving obligations were starting early the next day, so we had to bid farewell to our friends who remained behind. I’m sure we will have no complaints meeting here again for another get together… maybe for another eve celebration? Thanks Jason J, for introducing us to one of your favorite watering holes!

Talalc Lounge is my kind of dive bar. Reasonably priced drinks, solid juke box, surly but attentive staff and plenty of bar games to distract should the rest not suffice. I’ve been visiting this location pretty regularly for the past several months and each time I find new reasons to come back. The interior is dark and smacks of interior design by committee. The walls are adorned with everything from aging sports poster to photos of calebrities and even current SF Giants schedules. A cozy bar area greets patrons with an open gaming room on the right, complete with pool tables, pinball, shuffleboard and foozball. It’s like Chuck-E-Cheese’s for grown-ups! The bar is not what I would call«fully stocked» but offers enough keep me satisfied. The draft beer selection is a bit sparse but has decent variety. At times, groups come in for get togethers bringing their own food, soda and cake, and are generally happy to share their snacks. If the shared fare is not available, Milano’s Pizza is right around the corner and has, in the past, walked pizzas over. The Talac is in my neighborhood, emits a less than pretentious vibe and has yet to dissapoint!

I’ve experienced better dive bars. I should have consulted Unilocal before coming here for my friend’s birthday shindig because I would have come with cash. Their ATM charges $ 2.60, and I noticed on my bank statement that they charged another mysterious $ 2 on top of that. Fuckers. They have about six beers on tap at standard prices, all of which are decent and some are local, which is cool. I like that the place is pretty mellow and quiet with the exception of the bartenders demanding to see everyone’s ID right as they walk in the door. 75 cents to play a round of Billiards; probably the best deal there. They also have Simpsons pinball. Will I be back? Probably not. If you are going to be cash only with a shady ATM, at least don’t bark at people when they walk in.

My husband and I really enjoy visiting the Tallac. Just yesterday we got on our bikes and rode over to have a couple beers. The owner, Richard, is awesome. Super friendly and always lets us bring our bikes inside so we can keep an eye on them. The other bartender(don’t know his name, sorry!) is very nice as well… and super funny. Tallac has a fun jukebox, clean bathrooms and pool tables. It is a great spot for a beer and for people watching. Do not come here if you are looking for anything else. It is not fancy. It is just a perfect little neighborhood bar.

Quick Tallac Lounge Factoid: The Tallac Lounge is named after a mountain in Lake Tahoe. It’s also a friendly neighborhood bar in the Tahoe Park area. Lots of sports memorabilia along with some flat screens to watch the game. They have it all. NASCAR pinball machine, two pool tables, Golden Tee golf game, darts, shuffleboard, and a killer jukebox full of great music like Bob Dylan Modern Times, Led Zeppelin 4, Gobs of AC/DC, The Doors and The Who. They even have my favorite local band Jackpot in the jukebox. They had a tasty microbrew on tap. I can’t remember the name but it was a local brewer. The bartender was friendly and attentive. A guy could spend a lot of time at the Tallac Lounge playing pinball, drinking beer and listening to the jukebox with the other regulars.
